Like the title says your task is to make a divine beast. The point of this is to test your imagination. How is it testing r imagination? Glad u asked. Because divine beasts have no effect u will be mostly judged on the description of the card and how it tells a story about the card. So u know about the card easy yeah, no just check out the next section

Entry Fee:

When making my own card, does it have to be a Normal Monster? Or can it be another type of monster (i.e. Synchro Monster, Ritual Monster, etc.)? And what of the lore (writing), by chance?

yes, it does have to be a normal monster, if you read the first post, it says "you will be based on the STORY of the card" meaning its a normal

I read it as well. He means Normal DIVINE monster. The lore is its description. The definition for a lore on an effect monster means effect.
