I've recently put together a top 100 movies list, made-up of most of my favorite movies that I've seen. My question is... would 30 or more of these movies make it on your top 100 movies list?

Note: Also, a few of these movies such as "Willow", and "The Mummy" are so high on this because they were my childhood favorites, even though I notice now that the acting and overall movie isn't as good as I remembered. Anyways these are MY top 100 so don't be too harsh if talking about my choices, its all opinion. Thanks.

No offense, but I didn't really like Terminator Salvation, but its all your oppinion so I guess its alright. You didn't list it, but Shindler's List is awesome too, maybe you saw it, didn't like it, but if you didn't see and you like World War 2 Holocaust story's,you should like it.Also, I didn't see too many horror movies on your list,it might not be your thing, I dont know, but I really sugest you see 28 days later if you didn't see it, its amazing, also Dawn of the Dead, which, by the way are both zombie movies.More than 30 would have made my list, Good Fellas is on for sure, Rambo as well. So yea, about 35 or 40 would be on my list.

@Catman, I know, who couldn't like Braveheart? ^^

@Byakuya, thanks for the comment, but did you really mean all the Indiana Jones movies? I thought the last one was... well.. horrible.

@Dynasty, I have actually not seen Shindlers List and I've heard it was quite good, but its not on Netflix instant queue, at Blockbuster, and nobody I know owns it... eventually I may find it somewhere though. And yah, horror movies are't quite my thing... I mean Quarantine was horrible, Jennifers Body was horrible, Saw 2 was horrible, Freddy vs Jason was horrible, etc. 28 days later did actually look kinda good though (same with "The Crazies") and I have seen Dawn of the Dead, but I guess I didn't think it was as good as you do ^^

@Helen, lol thats weird, you sure there aren't even a few you would change? If not, thats really strange. You like good movies! lol

@Nightbane, yah "Predator" is a pretty sweet movie, but the new "Rambo" movie caught my attention a little more, but hey, "Predator" made the honorable mentions. ^^

@Mr.WoofWoof, dang we must like completely different movies, or you just don't watch much at all. ^^ anyways, I'm not sure what those 5 movies were that you've seen, but a lot of these movies are the type that everybody should see, because everybody can enjoy it for different reasons, such as... Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, LOTR trilogy, Gladiator, Forrest Gump, and Back to the Future - each of those movies can hardly fit in a single category, if you haven't seen those.. watch them! Also, if you like action movies, Legend of the Drunken Master, and Police story will blow you away! (My favorite Jackie Chan movies by far!)

@Biomedic, yah that movie rules, the only reason its even as low as 16 is because it seems a little drawn out, but as for War movies (modern warfare... so, excluding "The Patriot"), yes, it is by far the best and I don't see it losing that title any time soon!

@Galadrien, that movie was watched over and over again at my house when I was younger, but I've re-watched since then and everything just doesn't seem as cool to me anymore, but its still quite a good movie!

@Death Metal, yah I've actually seen Boondock Saints too, it was pretty good, but I don't believe the fights in that movie were done all too well, they had drama I guess.. but no real action they just stood still and shot their guns, especially that part on the porch where they shoot at that old guy and everybody just keeps missing for like 40 seconds... anyways, excluding how they did (some of) the action scenes that movie is great.

The Dark Knight

The Matrix

Back to the Future

Matrix: Reloaded

PotC (any of them)

You missed Inception, I Am Legend, The Day After Tomorrow, and a bunch of horror movies that were actually directed quite well. But if you don't like those kinds of movies, eh.

I'm very picky when it comes to movies, so I was only able to pick out five (maybe seven, maximum, if I missed some) from your list. D':

@Dark, I haven't seen "Inception" yet, although it does look quite good. As for "I am Legend" and "The Day After Tomorrow", they didn't seem like they belonged on the top 100 to me. And well, I don't really watch horror movies too often, so I wouldn't be surprised if I missed a few of your favorites of that genre.

@Saint Dane, another example of one of my childhood favorites, "The Sandlot". For being a family film its very good (usually only pixar does that).

@McHotcakes, 15 is more than most, which ones were they? Also thanks for pointing out that "Road to Perdition" problem, I'll try to edit the list (maybe put Predator on 100).

@Random Dude, The original "Clerks" was pretty funny, but the 2nd one was just okay - neither match comedies like "Hotshots" and "Naked Gun", at least not to me. Also Quentin Tarantino isn't that great to me... "Pulp Fiction" was his best movie, and it has some pretty dumb parts about pointless long conversations or stupid dances. "Death Proof" was absolutely horrible... if you've seen it I don't need to say any more."Kill Bill Vol.1" and "Kill Bill Vol.2" were also just average, the first one was bit better than Vol.2 just for the fights. "Inglorious Bastards" was just okay, there wasn't really anything awesome about it, and finally "From Dusk til Dawn"... that movie is also absolutely terrible. I don't get why people see him as some astonishing director, he's average. (the movies I listed were the only ones I've seen from him)

@WereLord, I've seen a few of his movies but only found "Holy Grail" worthy of this liist, as for "Alien" I've never gotten to watch any of them fully, I've only seen parts of (I think the 2nd one) it on Sci-fi. Anyways, "Monty Pythons the Holy Grail" is number 95 on my list, with Predator in Honorable Mentions (and possibly being 100, because of McHotcakes fix).

@WereLord: If that was directed at me, I actually did agree with that one. It's just that most of the ones he listed didn't appeal to me much.

@Manpole: you need to watch Reservoir Dogs, I liked it a lot more than Pulp Fiction. Both Clerks movies were great, I liked the second one more though. The Porch Monkey and LOTR scenes were the best parts.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well this topic seems dead, so I'll go ahead and repy to this last guy real quick =p

@DeadMichael, A lot of the movies you mentioned that weren't on my list were considered, such as; National Treasure, Shrek, Iron Man, Interview with a Vampire, Tenacious D, Beauty and Beast, and Benchwarmers) There are a lot of movies from my list that you added to yours, which was a little surprising, because you also added some movies to your list that I didn't like at all... (such as Click, Shallow Hal, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Spider Man 3, the Twilight Saga, most of the Harry Potter movies, AVP: Requiem, and 2 Fast 2 Furious)
