Djinns~ The Battle for Abhedan

Djinns are very similair to humans, though they are not. They are created not of flesh but of extremly hard wood. They are said to be made of "Smokeless Fire". djinns have various abilities, includin shapeshifting and the ability to talk with nature. They are male, female, can have children, and can create and live in societies like humans.

 

In Saudi Arabia, the time of the Crusades-in which God-believing knights were sent to kill "Infadels"-there was a hidden city. It was high in the mountains, a palce and a small city made of dark stone called Abhedan. It is symetrical in most ways, especially the layout. The only way to get there is to know it's there. Only djinns know where it is, and occasionaly they let humans know where it is. The city is a city, easily to see, but there is a never ending sandstorm atop the mountain, causing it to be unseeable, a blackened part of the mountain behind thick clouds of sand.

 

The Djinns live in this city, and they live in a silent tyranny. The king owns everything and no one dares disobey him, because they fear him too much. He does whatever he wants, and usually nobody cares except the people he's hurting. A djinn-child, very small, lived ina family who did not want to be silent. They disobeyed the king when he ordered them to give him money that they didn't have. The king sent men to kill his family, but torturing them slowly before they died. This child was left, hiding, and when the men were grabbing at him, a woman walked by and screamed. The operation was no longer quiet, so the bo was spared. He was sent of to a family, being a slave fore the rest of his life, like many other djinn-slaves.

 

Eventually, when this djinn-child grew up, he remembered watching his family tortured and killed. He remembered his fear, his anger, and he decided to do something about it. With the help of his master's son, he escaped and went to the king's lair. He demanded that the king tell him the location of the Power Gem, a gemstone that gives the beared the ability to control and have mighty powers. The king, Ra'id, refused, so Wahid, the djnn-child, killed the king. He was caught and sent to prison.

 

Now, Wahid wants to escape and find the power gem. He thinks he knows where it is, and he wants to use it to destroy Abhedan and create a new city, meant for darkness and the wicked souls of the silent djinns.A group of humans, travelling merchants, are caught up in the fight and need to decide who to join.

Wahid~The evil mastermind who wants to recreate Abhedan into a harsh, dark city. By doing this he believes he is avenging his family and all those who were killed like his family. Wahid's forces are made up of dark sorcerers and assasins. Joing Wahid means helping him escape and find the power gem. Wahid is merciless and doesn't care who he kills. He just wants the power gem.

 

Zaki~A wise, young prophet who believes in peace. He doesn't want to interfere but is forced to when kidnapped by Wahid. Joining Zaki means trying to free him from Wahid's Possesion and settle the battle. Most of Zaki's forces are rogues and healers.

 

Faris~A highly trained knight. He is a general of the army of the djinns and is very strong. He intends to avenge his uncle, the king, and bring down Wahid and the darkness lurking around the city of the Djinns, Abhedan.Faris' forces are made up of knights and mercenaries. Joining Faris means trying to bring down Wahid and his forces.
