That could ruin a format.Total: 9/20 Wait! Where comes the penalty-section from? To summon wulf is a possible kombo with this card. And why 5 points for this? And about your cretivity rating at all: You never gave more than 4 - There are some cards posted who are very creative. I think... EDIT:@touzaikokon: Spoon's points ain't 15, they are 16!
-Griffin
I added penalties because otherwise bad cards might get through because there's no sections for balance or general points on design. 5 points because it is a huge point. You practically made it immune to destruction and throwing out Wulfs often, with another effect too. 5 specifically because that was the points for Utility - Utility should say how usable a card is. If it's going to be banned, that's not usable, so it's "usability" is 100% countered by it's broken interaction. Anyone can make a card with an odd effect, that isn't creative. Creative is finding a way to make cards interact that wasn't expected, or to generally influence the game in that way. Pot of Duality might not be unique, but I'd call it very creative because it's managed to give highly splashable draw power but also not speed up the format too much because of the no-summon clause. Creativity is based mainly on interactions, which I did my best to find, but which people should really explain in their posts if they want them all to be considered. Spoon
I hate scales... they're so... fix and unalterable. Therefor bringing something "own" in doesn't hurt... though it are just penalties... you could have given away some bonuses as well ;) Just one thing: I'd suggest that you don't focus on the actual game that much. Giving -5 points because the created card is in some way or another broken with one specific card in the game just doesn't do it. Those cards will never be in the game, therefor: Cut us some slack. The last time I actually played this game and had a real card in my hand was at least 8 years ago. Of course you can say a card is broken, because there are general standards you can read about... but because of one relation with a card nobody of us knows it existed (over-exaggerating now)? I hope you get my point... and that's about it. @Spikeball: Oh... right... well, doesn't matter much to the results, but I feel better now So long, Spoon
-Griffin
Most of the Utility points were because it was so 'usable' with Wulf, so if you want, I could cut 2 points off the penalty and the utility, if you really want. I was just trying to make an honest assessment of how usable it would be with Wulf, and since it was too much so, punish accordingly.
Spikeball
I see... I just noticed we have no Balance-PointsSoo, @touzaikokon: Why not add Balance points? This way nobody has to use penaltys...
-Griffin
I'd still feel that penalties are required for some things, such as specific targets, interrupting the flow of play, interacting with customs we haven't seen, over-encouraging luck and ruining an entire format (even with a balance category, there won't be enough points in it to make up for that)
Spikeball
Well, I would get rid of paneltys anyway. These points you are talking about were not in touzaikokon's scales from the beginning. a balance-scale would be the only thing I miss but that's it... At least we have to wait for touzaikokon's decision... EDIT:By the way, what do you mean by "ruining an entire format"? Isn't it a bit overstated to say this?
-Griffin
Using the card mentioned, I could probably build a Deck which wins on turn 1 at least 95% of the time. If that isn't a terrible format, what is?
Spikeball
Turn 1? 95% of the time? I don't think so... No offense... But let's stop talking about that - Your ratings are public now.
