[The Final Messenger]

Virgil ran out in the hall after he figured out what the poem probably meant, "Selene! I think I figured th-!" he stopped when he saw Jecht, "I'm allowed to tell him about 'it' right?" He walked towards Selene and handed her the parchment with the supposed meaning and told her to keep it, "I'm gonna skip class to go to Madame Pomfrey's just in case Lichness asks if I've been there, she was pretty suspicious of my puking."

"Sure. And of course you are," Selene said. "Jecht's my friend. Luke is a seer," she informed him quietly. "Thanks," she said, accepting the roll of parchment. "See you later, and good luck with pompfrey. Here..." She brought out a puking pastille she had been saving. "Use this in case you aren't realistic enough. Just hte purple side; the orange side cures it."

She smiled, but checked her watch. "Quick, though, the class is about to start!"

"Uh . . . sure." Jecht said walking beside Selene, towards the Care of Magical Creatures class. "So, uh, what happened with the . . . uh," It took Jecht a second to remember the guy's name. Finaly Jecht remembered Professor Slughorn saying his name, but someone else came up, and Slene answered his question, before he could ask it. He thought for a second, hoping he knew what a seer was. He thought it was someone who told fortunes and stuff.

"he has frequent visions of the future," Selene said to the confused expression on his face. "Tell you more during break."

"Ah, good, our last stragglers!" they had arrived at the hut of the Care of Magical Creatures. Dashwood began to gesture to some small knobbly sticklike creatures. She recognized them immediately as bowtruckles.

"Ah, my sister warned me about these. These give nasty bites..."

"Ah. 'Kay." Jecht replied to Selene as he looked at the stick-like things, like liveing branches. He resisted the urge to poke it and see what it would do, normally he would have done it, and was about to until Slene said something about them biting. Of course Jecht ingorned the warning and reached out towards the little stick creatures. One of them scratched him with their sharp claw like hands. Jecht's hand immediatly came back and he was waving his hand in the air. "Stupid stick." He muttered looking at the creature.

Dashwood glared at him. "Hands off until my word, boy," he growled. He turne dback to the rest of the class and said in more jovial tones, "We're going to concentrate on feeding them today and harvesting a type of useful fungi that grows on them. Tell me, what is this used for? Oh yes, you in the back..." the class went on like this and soon they were able to move around freely, touching the bowtruckles and feeding them first.

"Now you see the green stuff? Yeah, that's the fungi. Try to take it off, and put it in the buckets near the trees."

Selene gingerly reached forward and leaped back with a yelp. The bowtruckles were apparently fond of the fungi.

Ject couldn't help but laugh at Selene as she jumped back from the bowtruckles. "That's not how you do it." He said jokingly. Then he looked at the small tree like monsters. He was still pissed off at them, for attacking his hand. His face turned completely serious and he reached out his hand towards one of them, again. Jecht picked one of them up, his hand attack feriously by the bowtruckle. He pulled off the fungi from it and tossed it back down. "That's how you do it." He said smiling triumpently, holding the fungus in his hand that was now covered in scratches, from a stick.

'I hate classes with the Slytherins!' said Harry as they took their places in the greenhouse. Professor Longbottom called to the class to be silent. He then began demonstrating how to correctly do something. Sarah wasnt really sure what. She didn't really fancy herbology, she much preferred COMC. It might be genetic, seeing as her mother never enjoyed herbology either. She turned to Isis, but she was paying attention to Longbottom. This was the problem with Isis. She cared to much. Sarah's mind drifted to her vacation in Romania hunting Vampires...

"Oh, okay, mister Bowtruckle expert!" Selene said, completely teasing, not really meaning it. She imitated Jecht and managed to scrape some fungi off. "Yay."

"Good, good," Dashwood said. "Don't hold the poor thing so tightly, though!"

"Sorry, professor," Selene said.

Dashwood became disinterested and he moved on to look at others'. "Don't grab it near the head, it'll bite you!" Dashwood instructed another girl.

 

((I hope no one minds if I skip a bit...to lunch, hmm?))

 

The next two periods and their break passed in a blur. They were assigned to draw the anatomy of a bowtruckle for COMC, to research the use of the Impedimental curse, and for Charms, to practice their Color Change Charms.

 

Selene was thoroughly pleased when lunch arrived. She walked with Jecht to the Great Hall.

Meanwhile in Madame Pomfrey's

 

"I think you'll be ok Mr. Adante, just come back when you start puking again," Madame Pomfrey said finally curing Virgil of his puking pandemic. Virgil ran to the Great Hall and sat at the table next to the Gryffindor table, in the seat with his back facing Selene. "Hey thanks for the puking pastile it relly helped with the convincing," Virgil told her as he bunched down a few Anchovies down his stomach and called himself full of food, "Pomfrey says I shouldn't eat to much or I'll probably puke again. So how were the classes?"

Luke joined themothers for lunch, after deciding to go to divination with some confused third-years, and having transformation with the first years, until McGonnagal took him into her office yet again...he came out with his eyes glazed over more then they should have been, he didn't want to have to move from class to class...he had fun changing the color of his all-dessert meal from purple to green to red...and then he finally ate it at an unappealing shade of Puce.

Jecht thought the first half of the day passed extremely slowly. The first day always felt like it lasted an eternity. He thought he did good for the first day. The homewprk wasn't too brutal for Jecht. He enjoyed spending his time with Selene though. "What do we have next after lunch?" Jecht asked Selene as he sat down with her at the usual Gryffindor table, infront of the mountains of food. He was already grabbing food from the platters. Then Virgil came up to them talking about the puking candies. "Absolutly terrible." He said to him, but he called the class horrid almost all the time.

"hey, Luke, Virgil...and Virgil, anytime," she said with a bright smile, then turned back to her food. She heard Jecht's inquiry. "Hmm...next?' she fished out her schedule from her pocket. "We ahve..." she groaned. "Astronomy. That's probably the most boring class, other than History of Magic."

She thought about Sinistra. She was almost McGonagall's replica, though slightly more monotonous and boring. "I hope we don't map Andromeda for five days like we did last year," she said. Her fourth year had been a COMPLETE bore.

"Oh well. Oh, that's right. Jecht, I dunno if you've heard, but we're going to go and see why the girl's bathroom's out of order," she hushed her voice so only Jake, Virgil, and Jecht could hear at that moment. "We're just curious. We're doing it tonight."

"Ok so here's a few spells you might want to learn for our exploration; Luminous, the spell that creates light at the tip of your wand, Obliviate, for any students who might see us, Accio, just for dropped wands you can't pick up, and Expeliarmus, for combat emergencies only," he told them looking out for anyone who might be listening. "We'll meet up by stairs and i'll lead you to a picture that hides a secret passage to the bathroom."

"Sounds like fun." Jecht said eating a simple sandwhich. Then Virgil said that they'd meet at a lassageway that lead to the girl's bathroom. "Woah, woah. First of all. How do you know there a passageway to the girl's bathroom? Second of all why was I not told about this?" He asked wondering how he didn;t know about this passage to the girl's bathroom. "Keeping it a secret to yourself?" He said teasing him mostly. Mostly.

luke sighed. "Take me with you guys too, okay? I want to see if my visions have something to do with that bathroom...A vision's coming on!". Luke said, at the same moment standing up and barely making it out the door before beginning a new profecy in that gravelly voice. "The one who is missing will yet be found.

Luke gasped in a breath, and collapsed.

Virgil took out a pice of parchment, an inkbottle, and a quill and proceeded to write and define what Luke had said. This was what was written:

'The one who is missing will yet be found, so someone's going missing but will be found

The one who is clever will never, yet abound. clever that could mean A a prankster, B an Expert, or C just a clever person with never abound (A Slytherin!)

The one who is happy will become much less so... Someone happy will be unhappy(definatly not me probably Selene or Tasmin)

And the one who is left will take up the dough. the lastone will take up the bread or money (prediction unknown)

The celestial boy will be the first to go, the space boy will be first to either die or disappear (probalby Luke)

That place in which the chamber was finally found, CHAMBER OF SECRETS! THE GIRLS' BATHROOM!' He handed the fiishd write to his Gryffindor friends as he said, "the name's after the poems are assumptions. Oh and Jecht don't ask how I know, I know alot of passage ways like the one from Ravenclaw to Slytherin or Ravenclaw to Gryffindor"

"Let me see," Selene said, taking the parchment from Virgil once it was evident that he was done. She read what she had wrote and nodded. "Most of your thinking makes sense to me," she said, passing it to Jecht so he could look at it. "So, girl's bathroom it is. And ew, you have a passageway to it!?" she said, finally remembering what Virgil had said before Luke's third vision had come on. "Seriously?" she shook her head in exasperation. "Whatever." she turned back to her lunch, eating.

Luke woke up, shaking his head as if to clear some kind of flies swarming around it. "It happened again? Twice in the same day? I can't believe this!". Luke growled, going back to the dining room and setting uponnhis plate with a vengeance. "So, was it the same poem? Or different this time?". Luke sighed, hoping another vision wouldn't come on today, he didn't like having gaps in his memory, no matter how small they where

"Luke this time it was different, actuallly it was like a continuation of your last poem," Virgil told him handing him both of the poem parchments, "anyways just read through it and I'm sure you'll see some important things I can't." He ate a chicken wing and drank some tea, "That's refresing to know who will be lost will be found," Virgil said, "or maybe it means the lost will be found DEAD!"

Sarah took her place at the table and sighed. She didn't have any homework, but Flitwick had taken off 10 points from Ravenclaw when she had been day-dreaming instead of working on Summoning Charms. Her friends took seats around her. "Astronomy! What a terrible class. Who cares where the stars are or if Venus is in it's seventh day of orbit? It's no like we need to know it! I'm going to drop Astronomy ASAP." Isis said in a huff. She didn't like subjects that weren't practical. That was part of the reason they were friends. Isis was practical, and Sarah was imaginative. They completed each other.

 

"Isis, Astronomy is important. Many magical creatures use the Lunar cycle to understand when thing should happen. And also in Potions. some need to be brewed at specific times in the solar and lunar calendars." Adam explained calmly.

 

"But then why do we need to know about the stars? Or the other planets?" She asked.

 

"Why do we learn Defense Against the Dark Arts if the last Dark Wizard to rise has been dead for over 25 years? Just in case something arises and we need the knowledge. There might be an obscure potion that revolves around Pluto's orbit or something."

Selene shook her head, always preferring to be optimistic. "No, if it said found, it would indicate being alive, even in a poor state or condition. See, if it said the lost will be found dead, then it would mean that. Found would indicate a more optimistic sense," she said, reading the rest ofthe parchment.

"Anyway, I'm debating with myself on whether or not to miss Astronomy. It's probably going to be really, really boring.The professor hasn't changed for twenty years!"

Luke played with a fancy cupcake on his plate, rolling it over before finally eating it. It was chocolate, and it was yummy. Luke liked yummy things, because they tasted good. Luke stood up. "I'm getting a head start, The headmisteress got mad at me because I went to first-year transformation, so I need to find all my classes.". Luke walked along, hoping the astronomy classroom would just pop up in front of him...

Selene jumped up with him. "I'll meet you at Astronomy. I just don't want Luke to get lost, so i'll take him to the classroom." she said, leading the way for Luke.

"Okay, It's on the top floor. To look at the sky, y'know?" She said conversationally, leading the way to the main marble staircase.

She looked around and continued to climb up the stairs until they reached the top floor.

"Okay, I think it's room 342 or something like that..." she muttered, mostly to herself, looking around.

"I guess we'd better head of to Astronomy." said Isis, with a sigh.

 

"especially considering there's about a bigellian stairs to climb to get there." said Harry. Sarah grabbed a few extra cookies. 'Why'd you do that?" asked Harry.

 

"What? Oh, sustenance." She explained. "Long trip up, i might want a snack." Everyone reached and got a few cookies. They then headed off for Astronomy, up the staircases. They talked abut stuff, like quiditch as they climbed. Sarah support the Wasps for some reason unknown to her friends, seeing as they could NOT win.
