Bloody Darkness: A Hogwarts RP [[Pg-13/Accepting in OOC/Started]]

Selene nodded quickly. "S-sure..." she stammered a bit, and led Hunter into the ice cream shop.

"What flaver d'you want? Oh look...McGonagall's beginning to round up the students, we should hurry." she flashed a nervous smiel at Hunter and proceeded to order chocolate.

As she licked her cone and waited for Hunter to order, she paid for her own. Three sickles. "I can pay if you'd like." she offered. "You paid for the butterbeers, and I haven't gotten to repay you yet."

Valarie looked around quickly, and saw McGonagall starting the long tedious process of rounding up students and bringing them back to Hogwarts. Valarie sighed. She waved to the Slytherin's, and headed towards McGonagall. She slung her drawstring bag over her shoulder, shoving her wand inside it. It was light, only filled with a spellbook for 7th years and her wand. Valarie's Mother always pushed Valarie to try and excel in all subjects. Valarie met her Mother's expectations, mostly-- all of them except for Charms. Stupid, stupid Charms. Flipping through the book as she walked, Valarie tried to find something that might help her.

At her insisting, Selene finally paid for Hunter's ice cream and together they walked back out to the crowd of students.

"Seriously, she shouldn't have to go search all the shops..." muttered Selene. "I mean, if the students don't come out, it's their loss..."

Selene watched, interestedly, as McGonagall had to run into all the shops and hassle everyone out. As the last few students ran out from the Weasley's shop, there was a scream and a slamming of a wooden door.

 

On the floor in front of Honeydukes, there was the bloody body of Sarah the Ravenclaw.

Valarie sat down in the middle of the streets of Hogsmead. Nothing interesting was really going on. Just McGonagall getting everybody out of the shops in Hogsmead. Why couldn't the students just go out when they were told to? Did McGonagall really have to go into each and every single shop? That was pretty much it. Besides the screaming students running out of the Weasley twins shop and Sarah lying bloody in front of Honeydukes, everything was fine... 'Wait, WHAT?' Valarie thought. She rushed over to Honeydukes to see what had happened.

Selene yelped and ran with Hunter to go see what was going on.

Sarah's bloodied body was in front of Honeydukes. The owners were shocked.

"This had nothing to do with us, Professor," the female owner was conversing with the headmistress.

"I'm sure it didn't, Imogen." McGonagall said, struggling to keep calm. "But we MUSt figure out what's going on with these attacks!"

"No...Sarah!" moaned another Ravenclaw, which Selene recognized as one of Sarah's friends.

Hunter stared in silent shock as melting icecream ran down his hand, he was almost totally unaware of it. This one's not even been found in Hogwarts... Whatever's doing this must be really powerful to get past all the anti-magical travel spells in place at the school... Hunter was terrified, He tried to maintain his resolve, but he couldn't entirely. he looked away after a few seconds and shuddered. His thoughts wandered from his imidiate logical jump to pure terror. Hunter might be next. Selene could be, or Virgil. No one was safe and that terrified Hunter more than he would ever let on.

Drifting drunkly away from the fiasco, Elena followed the pathway that led back up to the castle. Pulling out her wand and whispering "Crenalo" she waved it around, while pointing it at the ground. The ground which the wand pointed sudden disappeared as though an invisible beast was dragging a long sharp claw across the floor. After swinging the wand erratically and removing the end of her shoe, leaving the flesh underneath completely untouched, Elena cursed and, looking extremely focussed, carved a large, wavy signature into the pathway up to the castle so everyone can admire her fine workmanship. Putting her wand away and muttering random german, Elena continued on her way up to the castle, away from the ruckus behind her, blissfully aware of the blood drenched floors and student.

Regulus's mouth dropped in shock when he looked to see Sarah laying on the ground covered in blood. He walked over towards her slowly trying to gather what had happened. I shouldn't have left her alone after knowing that she would be next." She thought to himself. He was feeling guilty and began to think that i9t was his fault. Knowing what he knew he should have stuck around her to make sure she was protected at all times. But instead he brushed it off and didn't expect anything to happen as quickly as it did. Now that one of his fellow Ravenclaws had been entangled into the situation Regulus was intrigued more then ever to find out what was going on. He did not want anything like this to happen to him so to prevent it he would do more research and more investigating then he was planning on.

Selene carefully conjured a napkin and handed it to Hunter. "There's melting ice cream on your hand." she observed ruefully, then turend back to the scene, mind whirring.

She had heard that she was next, and she knew that Sarah wouldn't be stupid enough to go to the bathroom after her warning; she was a Ravenclaw, and was well thought of.

That could only mean one thing; the ghost could take people whenever he wanted.

She wondered if Luke had a prophecy on who was next; she hoped it wasn't jecht.

McGonagall was taking care of the medical situation, cleaning off the blood on Sarah with a wave of her wand and conjuring a stretcher. Other wizards from the castle hurried to help, and then the school slowly made its way back to Hogwarts.

Hunter, having cleaned himself off, and discarded his icecream, having lost appitite walked beside Selene in silence. He'd thought that maybe this would be his chance with her, but then this. He should have known better than to expect Hogsmead to be an escape from the events at the school. he took low steps and occasionally kicked up the fallen autumn leaves that had settled on the grould. He spoke quietly now. "Nothing seems to be safe anymore. Whatever's doing this can even get it's victims outside the grounds. It must be really powerful."

Selene turned wordlessly to Hunter and nodded bleakly. "Yeah. I even warn-- I mean, I told most of the houses not to go anywhere near the bathroom on the third floor; Luke, the first victim, got caught in there. And so did my friend Jecht. So she was warned, so that means that the ghost can probably steal kids from their own dormitories."

She didn't want anyone else to know about Luke's abilities as a seer.

[The Final Messenger]

Virgil walked over to the commotion and went to the front before nonchalantly saying, "I see, so thisis what the commotion is for, well atleast its relevant to my interests." He then sat down in front of the bloody body and examined afew things before saying something unhearable, and walking off, but not before he said this, "if you really want to find me I'll be thinking in the library in front of a useful book."

Being up at the shrieking shack, Volpiquer and his date didn't really notice the events going on in Hogsmeade's main street. It was a distant ruckus and they assumed it was some minor accident/prank. Only as they caught up with the straggling students on their way back to Hogwarts did they overhear fragments of the story. Sarah had been found covered in blood near the joke shop. Volpiquer knew something had been odd with her. He felt guilty that he hadn't stopped her that morning, when he and Florence had run into her on the third floor corridor.

 

It was getting late, so Volpiquer escorted his date back to her common room and, after bidding her farewell and imploring her to be extra careful and not travel around alone, headed up to the hospital wing on his way back to the Ravenclaw tower.

 

After a few minutes, he arrived at the hospital wing and looked around the doorframe into the ward.

Jecht heard a scream and ran off into the direction. He had gotten there quikly enough to see the blood covered Ravenclw been cleaned off and put onto a strechter. He couldn't form words as he watched her being carted off. He saw Selene walking with the weasel guy, and he hurried up to the other side of Selene "What happened?" He asked even though he knew what had happened already. "Something needs to be done. Something needed to be done the first time. The teachers aren't doing anything."

Valarie thought quietly for a moment to herself. This ghost had the poewr to kidnap the Hogwarts students whenever, and wherever they wanted to. Selene had only thought that the ghost could take from tteh bathroom on the third floor. But the Ravenclaw girl was smart enough not to go where many attacks had been, hadn't she? She was in the Ravenclaw house, after all. So what had happened? Valarie continued to think to herself, sitting down on the steps in front of Honeydukes. Ghosts can only go where they have been before in their lives... So that means the ghost had to be either a Hogwarts student, a Professor at Hogwarts who just so happened to take a trip to Honeydukes, or... or something much, much more powerful.

Selene shivered, quite creeped out. "I'm just wondering...what would we do next?" she asked smally to Hunter, still walking beside him.

She turned to see Jecht. "You know, Sarah was next, right? I warned her, so she wouldn't have been stupid enough to go down to the bathroom to take a look or whatever, she's a Ravenclaw for crying out loud. So that means the ghost can take whoever he wants whenever he wants wherever he wants." she had lowered her voice so that only they could hear.

"It's creepy, it is." she said, nodding.

"Well, if someone came up to you and told you not to go to the bathroom because of some evil ghost would attack you, would you believe them?" Jecht asked in one long breath. "If the ghost can attack anyone anywhere, then, what can we do?" He asked feeling vunerable and helpless. "Its a ghost. You can't fight a ghost." He looked at McGonagall who was leading the group back to school. "Before long we'll all be sent home. The parents are probably ordering them to send us back."

"I think i'm going to go talk to McGonagall about it and what Luke knows. I don't think he'll mind, right? It's for the Greater good..." she was reminded of a long ago dark wizard, Grindlewald, who had said the same thing. She shook off the thought and began to walk after mcGonagall.

he won't mind...he won't mind... She said to herself reassuringly as she approached the headmistress.

 

She sighed and stopped, wondering if she was doing the right thing.

Regulus remained quiet the entire time. He did not say a word as McGonagal cleaned up Sarah. He was also completely silent as he walked up to the school. His mind was racing. He had so many thoughts going on in his mind it was overwhelming. When he made it to the school he returned to the library. There he looked for useful information even though he knew he would have no luck unless he could somehow get into the restricted section of the library. But how was he going to do that. That's when he bumped into Virgil again. He was in such a train of thought when Virgil told everyone he was going to be in the library that he didn't hear him say it. "Hey Virgil. What are you doing here?" Regulus asked him raising an eyebrow.

Valarie, thinking to herself silently, walked around Hogsmead. Actally, she was really pacing around Hogsmead. She didn't bother to sweep her fair blonde hair out of the way of her dark eyes. Her bangs in front of her face helped her think more clearly, it helped her to remove herself from reality and into her mind. 'Where would I be able to find out more about these... dissaperances?' Valarie thought to herself. Since she was looking down, sheasn't exactly looking where she was walking, and she ran into a student. When Valarie looked up, she found out that the student she had ran into was Selene. "Sorry," Valarie mumbled, and when she saw the look Selene was wearing, Valarie was curious, but she said nothing.

[The Final Messenger]

"Regulus, do you hear the bells? I definately hear the bells, I wonder whom they toll for," Virgil said, almost like he was thinking too hard and was now subconsciously thinking while consciously talking, "I- I feel empathy of sadness." He then stood up and walked to the 3rd Floor Girl's Bathroom, or what first years were now calling it; the Cursed Bathroom, he walked over and looked at the open entrance to the Chamber and said, "finite" which made the ropes go disappear and jumped inside, walked to the main chamber and sat infront of the wierd head thing, before saying, "huh, what am I doing here? All I did was think about coming here then-" he stopped turned around, sat, and started humming a eerie tune with incredibly sad, but distant, eyes, "no, I am not possessed you may stay here, but I have a hunch about something." He sat and continued to hum, If what I think is true, I suspect I shall find something when the mouth of the statue opens and I go inside, the tune and my cryptic messages have absolutely nothing to do with my plan, anymore atleast.

Regulus gave Virgil a confused look. "I do not hear any bells, Virgil. Are you sure your okay? Maybe you should go to the hospital wing and get checked out." Regulus said. He was joking about the last part. Then when Virgil got up Regulus followed him. Virgil didn't seem to be acting normal. He followed him to the girls bathroom and poked his head in to see the chamber was open. Regulus's mouth dropped. Then he saw Virgil enter it. "What is he up to?" Regulus said. He the followed Virgil down the entrance to the Chamber. Virgil however did not seem to really notice him. "Do you think something down here is causing the problems?" Regulus asked.

The Animagus walked up in toe of Selene, he didn't quite know what was going on, but he wanted to. He was confused and scared. He needed answers. What would happen next? Was he the next victim? It seemed like it was possible. Anyone could be next, and if some information on how to stay safe, even if it was practically useless could be gathered from this conversation, then Hunter needed to hear it. But even still he was more curious about Selene, she'd started to say she'd warned Sarah. It made Hunter wonder. It was a strange slip of the tongue. He followed up behind her waiting to hear what she had to say, hoping she'd speak in his presence. McGonagal had noticed them and spoke thier sirnames, as she often did when greeting students.

"Professor McGonagall, we think that a ghost might be involved in the killings..." Selene was blunt and cut right to the point.

McGonagall cocked her eyebrow. "Oh? Why would you think that, Hawthorne?"

Selene looked at the others for help. "Well the other day, we saw a strange ghost that we didn't usually see. I asked another prefect who it was and he told me it was the Bloody baron but I didn't believe him, so I followed it with my friends. It led to the bathroom on the third floor, and then we all passed out. WHen we woke up, Jecht was gone."

Hunter was stunned. He stood mouth-opened, this was as much news to him as it was the professor, who seemed deeply worried. Hunter didn't understand how a ghost could surface now, if it had been someone recently dead they'd have been recognised. It must have been an older spirit, but then why has it been dormant for so long? Why emerge now? What's the meaning of this? It didn't make any sense. Hunter's look was a mixture of fear and confusion at this point. He shook his head in disbelief. The boy was stunned and terrified.
