Fan fics aren't quality books.

And again, length has nothing to do with quality.

Proof being that while Fusion's chapters are different from El's and my owns, he considers all our fics around the same level.

Something splendid can be written in short chapters, while at the same time something crappy can be written in a drawn-out, long chapter :/

Meh...honestly DL, I find KS and BTM superior to DEF. You guys both have a diverse, likable cast and an enriching story.

Like, El's is unclear, with only vague allusions to whatever plot will eventually become the main focus of the fic. But it works, despite being over 40 chapters in. It has different stuff going on every arc.

And your story is interesting because it tracks the progression of anti-heroes as well as all sorts of colorful action and character developments.

DEF is superior to you two only in the fact it's managed to grab people's attention by being a YCM fanfic. You know, getting to see themselves in a struggling epic.

The one other difference I believe (though I don't know if this is how it is with you 2, I'm guessing from what I read) between us is that you two have your story planned out. DEF writes itself.

Don't get me wrong, I have the finale planted in my head and I know where I want to get to, it's the journey that's the mystery. Like, I made JoshIcy a villain, Status an evil group, and sent a bunch of random people to Japan, all on a whim. So it's different story-telling.

I feel as though you two are better writers than me, it's just that my fic appeals to a broader audience in the sense it's somewhat realistic (keyword: somewhat) and...that people are in it >.>

Chapter length is irrelevant to me, as long as it's consistent. I know my chapters kinda grew longer from when I first started, but at least it's stayed that way >.>

So DL, while I'd consider a longer chapter of KS a pleasant treat, I wouldn't expect that from you all the time because you've consistently maintained a certain length for all 100+ chapters.

I just don't want to ruin that sense of comfortable consistency for anyone reading DEF, that's all.

@Creator - My current fic =/= fic for teh lulz like KS XD

@Fusion - Actually, there's plenty of stuff (most of stuff) I do on a whim. xD

I didn't have Ami, Kai, and Hikaru joining the new Akatsuki planned out, I didn't have the future arcs planned out, etc. They came to me as good ideas as I wrote the story.

Well, I suppose it still counts as planning... .-.

xD

Also, the one thing I see superior in KS to yours is that I like, make almost every character important. Like, there are hardly any 1-shot, unimportant characters. You all thought Ami was gone for good until she joined New Akatsuki ;D

So yeah, I suppose through being able to keep my characters important, I get to characterize them better. So I suppose characters are my strong points? :3

El's strong point is...battle scenes and plot, apparently. xD

Your strong point is... marketing? O.o

And that is definitely true, I would not expect you to shorten your chapters drastically.

But must you make them longer? TT~TT

I have actually very few main characters.

But there's a difference between main and having importance

There are hardly any minor characters, because I give all characters importance to some degree, though not necessarily are they all mains, far from it.

And I am dealing with it, by reading it slowly.

I agree DL, you do make every character important. I always feel bad because characters like Black and Chase should be more important when the plot neglects them .-.

Although, if you think about it, I have a huge f*cking cast.

I literally have over 100 people, most of them YCM members, as characters. To give everybody decent character development could be impossible, or at least impossible for the amount of story I'm making DEF take.

But my one-shots shall be the remedy, as all will be canon :3

This makes me VERY uncomfortable.

You know, this is why you need to save this stuff to a Flash Drive. makes it SO much easier.

I mean I'm writing a story (unrelated to anything or anyone here, actually been working on it since Dec. 30th last year) and I always keep a spare copy on a Flash Drive.

1. It means if you can't get to the usual computer, you can still work.

2. If your computer freaks out and dies you don't lose all your data.

3. You can add things at school and such without having to write it down on paper.

4. You don't have to only use school issued items if your writing it at school.

5. You ALWAYS know where it is (or at least you better).

6. When you suddenly get an idea, you can quickly add it before you forget or it becomes obscured.

7. Because shut up, I don't need a number seven.

Also just finished saving the last chapter of arc one onto my Word File.
