League of Assassins [[PG-13, semi-lit, Accepting, STARTED!]]

Blud turned around and saw someone talking to him... or so it seemed. He looked to the left and the right, saw no one. He looked back outside through the crack in the door.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he said to her.

If I don't leave soon I'll miss all of the rain...

"Never heard of any Mislet or whatever you said..."

Is it already starting to quit?

"As a matter of fact... who are you anyways?" Blud asked without turning away from the cracked door.

"Another wetboy. Or girl, though I prefer the words assassin superior. Who even CAME UP with the words wetgirl," she said bitterly. "Well anyways, I don't know if I can trust you yet. Don't blame me, I'm wanted in Mislet and I don't know if you're a Misletian coming to take me to my trial. Shut up, even the king knows!" the last sentence was directed to the innkeeper who had heard that she was wanted and was gaping stupidly at her. "It's nothing new!"

"Well anyways. Who are you."

[Navras]

"My name is Jester," Blud lied. "And I know a thing or two about the rain. It's something of unfortunate that you're a wanted criminal... I would have enjoyed the company... oh well, I'll be fine."

Blud's eye's widened as he saw that the rain was visibly beginning to die down some.

If I on't go soon I'll miss it!. Blud was now very anxious to get back out in the rain.

"And for the wetboy slash girl thing, I honestly don't know or care... we are who we are sadly."

"You're lying." Selene said, moving forward. "I can see the Talent inside you, liar, so there's no use lying more. What is your name."

She was slightly angry now. Why would he lie if he had nothing to hide? Obviously a Misletian spy.

"Look, I'm tired, just tell me and then leave." she said tiredly.

She looked at the innkeeper who still was staring.

"Go on with your business then!" she practically snarled.

[Navras]

"you only assume that I'm lying because I am in fact a wet boy and you've both never seen me and never met me in any way shape or form. It's only natural that You'd believe I was lying." Blud turned away from the rain reluctantly and faced the wetgirl. "Besides, you're not telling the whole truth either are you? Don't lie... Don't say anything if you don't want to. But my name is Jester, and I defiantly know a thing or two about the rain."

Blud snapped his head up and looked out of the crack in the door to see that the rain had stopped altogether. He let out a sigh and a miserable moan.

"Great... I missed my chanced to walk in the rain..."

"fine. Go walk with your precious rain, I know for a fact your name isn't Jester." She walked away towards the breakfast hall. "Goodbye,whatever you rname is."

She strolled into breakfast, taking an apple.

She yawned and slumped over a wooden table.

"Anythign else I can get you, miss?"

A waiter boy, several years younger than she was, was waiting tables.

"No, I'm fine, thanks." she said quietly.

[Navras]

"But the rain's already over..." Blud said, not caring if whatever-her-name-was was still listening. "I wasted too much time thinking about it and not doing it... I suppose I could wait for another bout of rain... no... I want it now... Just for a minute."

Blud opened up the door and stepped outside. He took four steps out and lied down on the still wet road.

Now to create some rain Blud thought. He closed his eyes and did what he meant to do; create a small rain cloud right over his entire body. Within seconds the cloud was a few feet about him and seconds after that it began to rain furiously over him. Blud closed his eyes and relaxed in the cold splatter of rain drops. It occurred to him that he had forgotten to shut the door... he didn't care.

"This is nice.... really nice..."

Dante still slept. He needed a good rest due to all the assassinations he had completed. He was still dreaming...

 

As he parents were killed infront of him, Dante kneeled with his head down, ready for execution. As one gaurd (Wetboy) let go of his right arm, Dante grabbed his large prison key and stabbed it into his neck before using it to unlock his handcuffs. The crowd started to run away in panic as the rain pounded down. Dante just stood there picking up the dead gaurds sword. The wetboys came at him one by one and he slayed one after the other and soon the corspes of the wetboys that had killed his parents lay motionless on the floor. He run forward and used Talent to leap up onto the balcony that Isaac stood on. Isaac stepped back but fell over his own feet. Dante stabbed him in both of Isaac's legs before stabbing him in the back and leaving him to bleed to death. Never again would Dante be merciful. He would kill anyone in his way. He would be afraid of no one. He would be the one to be afraid of.

 

Dante woke up looking at the time. It was 9:00 am a reasonable time to wake up and he sat up in his bed thinking about his dream before getting dressed in his assassin armor. He walked silently downstairs walking towards Selene and sitting next to her. "So when do he depart?" Dante asked her.

"Your welcome..."Reina hadn't slept at all. She stayed with them instead of running off. She didn't want anyone to get upset and she knew that they told her she had to come with them. Reina stayed quiet. What else was she to do? Reina lead them to the room where Rioh was and knocked on the door. She didn't want to walk in on him if he was doing something he didnt want her to see. Reina couldn't smile. She noticed her wrists were bruised where she had been grabbed. She sighed.

"If Riohs doesn't get here by 10 AM we're leaving without him," she replied, glad to have at least one completely serious wetboy with her. "I want to get to Sythgren as soon as possible. Did you see the other wetboy that's here? He said his name was jester, but I don't believe him. He lied about not being a wetboy anyways." she took a casual drink of water.

 

The innkeeper walked towards them. "I don't mean to be rude, btu please leave soon. Your appearances are making me lose guests!"

[Navras]

Blud sat up and sniffled. "I think that's long enough in the rain... maybe..." Blud stood up straight and took his bandana off of his head once more. He shook his head to get the water out, at the same time dispersing the rain cloud he had above his head.

"That was relaxing and all... but still... Actually... what was it I awas suposed to be doing again...?" Blud thought about it for a moment, staring off into space, lost in thought.

"... I can't for the life of me remember." Blud sighed and hung his head. "Must be one of those days..." He turned back and walked back into the Inn, still slightly dripping from his artificial rain cloud.

Selene looked up and saw Blud enter. "see, that's the one." she said, none too discreetly as she wanted "Jester" to notice them. "That's the lying wetboy that I saw earlier today," she said conversationally to Dante, as she had finished eating. "yes, yes, innkeeper, we'll leave in about an hour."

The innkeeper threw up his hands, exasperated, but then decided it was a lost cause and walked away, shaking his head.

"What's up with him? I said we'd be gone in an hour," murmured Selene.

[Navras]

Blud looked over at the wetgirl with un-caring eyes. He sniffled and turned to them without taking a step.

"And did she tell you she also lyed to... you know what, never mind. I'm not getting into it now... I just want to walk some more int he rain..." Blud looked outside for a moment with longing then turned back to the other wet boys and girls. He began walking towards them, saying as he did, "I suppose he's a wet boy too then? Don't think I've ever seen a pack of wet-people before... Learn something new every day I guess..."

Riohs lie there on the roof. "{Sigh} I wish things didn't have to be so complicated...." Riohs said. Riohs then heard a knock on his room door and entered into his room through the window. "Wonder who that could be?" Riohs opened the door to see Saph, Gauge, Laguna, and Reina. He was first taken by surprise when he saw his three buddies. "What the- Saph! Gauge! Laguna!" Riuohs said happily. Saph quickly barged in and got Riohs into a headlock. "Heh, it's been awhile Riohs! Ya miss us?!" Saph asked. "It's good to see ya Riohs!" Gauge followed. "It's been awhile hasn't it?" Laguna asked with a smile. "Hehe, this is such a wonderful surprise. I've missed you guys.

 

Huh- Reina." Riohs said in surprise as well as he walked over to her. "Reina.... What happened? Where were you? Uhh, speaking of which, we need to go meet up with Selene and Dante." Riohs said. "Wait a minute. Aren't we going to catch up on old times? Ya need to get going already?" Saph asked. "Yeah... But I promise I'll meet up with you guys soon. I need to do something to help my friends." Riohs explained. "What?! Hey we're your friends too ya know!" Gauge exclaimed. "Ahh, it's alright Riohs. Go. We'll meet up with you some other time." Saph said. "Thanks you guys. Alright Reina, let's go. Hmm.... What's the matter?" Riohs asked.

Selene looked up and saw Riohs coming down from the stairs. "Good, let's g-- who're they?" she had seen Riohs's friends. "They're not coming too, right? This isn't a group party, this is a serious mission, Riohs."

She gazed at his three other friends, and then saw Reina. That was good. She looked coldly at the three friends. "Who are you anyways?" she said, her voice betraying no feeling.

Reina looked at him. She couldn't keep saying sorry. "Lets go.." She quietly said and turned away. What was there to say? She ran off and came back. There was nothing to ask. Reina didn't look at anyone. She kept to herself. What was she suppose to do? She didn't want to talk about the guards. She was trying to hide her bruised wrists. She had no sleeves though. Reina didn't want anyone to ask about her wrists. She didn't think anyone would worry about her though.

"Oh them? They'er my comrades from Syria. Actually, I see them more as my brothers then just comrades. They won't be coming with us however." Riohs replied. "Don't worry Miss, we'll get out of your hair now." Saph said to Selene with a smile. "Psst, Riohs, so which one do you like? That tough-looking chick or the one with a sad look on her face?" Saph whispered to Riohs. "Huh? I'm not going to answer that question Saph. Just go already would ya?" Riohs replied. "{Sigh} Alright, alright. Just curious is all. C'mon guys let's go." Saph said as he walked out. "See ya later Riohs." followed Gauge. "Take care...." Laguna said with a wave. "Hmm.... (There is seriously something the matter with Reina. I'll try to cheer her up later, but for now I think Selene and Dante are getting impatient.) Reina..." Riohs said as he walked to her. "Don't worry, I'll protect you if you need." Riohs said with a smile. "I'll protect you too Selene." Riohs said as well as he ran pass her.

"I don't need protecting," Selene practically spat. She hated being thought of as weak. "Grab your horses... Reina, would you like to ride with me again? Or Riohs? Or Dante?" she said more softly as she turned to the other girl. She found Moondapple and decided to ride bareback. It was easier than a saddle for Moondapple. Moondapple hated saddles.

"hmm?" she asked again. Moondapple gave a whicker, as if to say It doesn't matter, we have a mission to do! Selene nodded but said nothing, stroking Moondapple's mane.

"Hehe, I'm just kidding with you Reina. By the way you fight, I might be the one who needs you to do the protecting." Riohs joked. "C'mon lighten up Selene. It's gonna be quite awhile before we reach the Desolate Plains, so we should try to get in as much riding as we can for today and set up camp later." Riohs said with some sense of seriousness in his voice. "The Desolate Plains is a dangerous place to be. I know that first hand so we need to have energy whjen we enter it." Riohs said as he got onto his horse.

Reina suddenly did something she had never done before. She turned looking at him and slapped Rioh. "I can take care of myself. I'm not some weak girl that you just met. I have lived out on the streets for a long time now. I know how to fight. I'm not a kid anymore." She stepped a bit away and turned her back to him. Reina didnt know why she just said that. She sighed. What was she going to do?

Selene watched the exchange. "Okay, okay, I think he got the message," she said, for once being the peaceful one. "Let's get on our horses. Now, Reina, which horse did you want to ride? Riohs's or mine?" She had no idea whether Reina had anwered or not. She was too busy staring at Dante.

Wait a minute.

Staring at DANTE?

Why?!

She shook her head and had the urge to slap herself. In the face. She slid onto Moondapple. "You know, if you aren't used to riding bareback, you should go with Riohs.

[Raiza]

Dante got onto his horse, which was a large black stallion. His horse was already saddled and he just climbed right on. He turned around to see if the others were ready and saw Reina slap Riohs. "Ouch," Dante said to Selene as he turned to her. As he turned he realised she was staring at him. He stared back at her for second realising how beautiful she was. He then just pulled up his hood to cover his face and faced Reina. "Who's horse are you going on?" Dante said impatiently. We haven't got all day... he thought to himself looking down at her. His horse turned around, eager to set off and Dante patted him on the neck to keep him calm.

Selene turned away, almost blushing, but years of her training kept her calm and composed. She let all emotion drain from her face so she looked sharp but emotionless.

She drew her black hood over her head as well, and it made her face shadowed and her eyes not visible. This way she could look anywhere without being noticed. She took a careful look around them to make sure that other wetboy wasn't following them.

The lying one.

Maybe he WASN'T a Misletian spy. But she couldnever be careful enough.

Reina knew thats meant she was riding with Riohs. She never learned how to ride a horse. All the horses she had ridin before didn't like her and wouldn't listen. She got on Riohs' horse and waited. She felt bad for slapping him. Reina still heard what Dante said before. She was going to get in the way. She didn't want to get in anyone's way. She lowered her head. What was she going to do? Where were they going? She better not ask any questions. Reina thought she was going to upset someone. She still hadn't slept in a few nights. She was tired but didn't act like it.

Selene nodded to ther est of them and kickstarted her horse. Moondapple was used to abrupt departures by then, so the river mare jumped into action, thundering down the cobbled streets of the Desrian capital. Selene checked to make sure the rest of their group was still behind them, and continued onwards.

She nodded to Dante, who, as usual, was keeping up behind her, and turned her gaze back to the front. You could never be too concentrated was a motto that her mentor... or master, as she liked to have professional thoughts, had taught her.

"'ey! Watch where your going with that horse of yours, mis--" She had already galloped past the irate shop owner that had yelled at her from the side. If she wasn't in a hurry, she would've taken notice, but she jus tignored him for now.
