Reina looked confused. "What do you mean? What happened?" She followed Ghost and saw what they meant. "!?" Her eyes got wide and she turned pale. What had happened while she had slept? Reina was in too much shock to speak. She stared at them. Reina started to back away. She had never seen that much blood in her life before even when learning to use her powers. She backed up into the wall.

[John A. Zoidberg]

"Reina..." Ghost said, "Please, don't leave. I'm not going to hurt you. I... what I did had to be done."

Ghost dropped his bloodied sword to the ground.

"Kraive is gone. If I didn't do this, I'd be dead right now and you very well might have been, too."

Ghost picked up his sword, grabbed a rag from a nearby table, and cleared the blood from his blade.

She shook as tears ran down her face. He had to do it. Then why was she crying? Reina had never seen a dead person before until now. Growing up she had been told of death but never saw anyone dead. She kept shaking. What was she suppose to do? How was she suppose to feel? Reina didn't know. She was scared. One day she would be dead to and she wouldnt be able to stop it. She didn't want to die. Not after seeing that.

"Reina, please," he said reassuringly, "Please don't be scared. I know, this is a horrible sight that no one should ever have to see. I know, there was an easier way to do it, but please , believe me, I didn't want this."

Ghost put his sword down on a table and walked towards Reina.

He looked at her. She was shaking.

"Please..."

Reina coudnt move. She only stood there shaking. She was afraid to close her eyes knowing should would still see it. Reina looked at Ghost seeing he was coming closer. Reina coudlnt stop shaking. She couldnt stop her tears even though she wanted to. Reina was wishing she had just stayed in bed. Her body still numb she couldn't tell her legs felt like rubber. Her legs collapsed under her making her fall to the floor.

"Reina!" he yelled.

He leaned down and picked her up, putting her down on the bed nearby.

"Please, you have to believe me," he said.

Ghost scratched his head and looked down.

[CristalFlames]

"Is...Is that what people look like....when they die?...." Tears ran down her cheeks. "Am I gonna look like that to?...." She continued to shake. "Is that what happened to big brother?....When they said he's not coming back but I will see him later on...is that what they meant!?" She started to raise her voice. Reina stared at Ghost. Reina's first time seeing death scared her so much she didn't want to die. She was too scared to.

[John A. Zoidberg]

"No, Reina, that's not what they look like. I... I made him look like that. I shouldn't have done that. Nor should I have let you see it. It's something that no one should see for as long as they live."

Ghost tried his best to keep calm.

"Reina, I know you're scared. It's not a good sight. But I promise you, I will never let what I did to Kraive happen to you... And, big brother? You... had a brother?"

She lowered her head. "He died when I was young....They said he was waiting for us to come to him but when we were ready...They didn't say much after that. No one did...." Reina explained. "He may of been quiet....and not show his emotions....but he was the kindest person I ever knew...." She started to stop shaking some. Reina looked at him. "Does it hurt...that you lost your brother?..." Reina asked him.

Ghost sighed.

"I don't know how I feel about him dying. While I am the one that killed him, I still often wonder what it would be like had he not made his life goal to ensure that my death was cause by him. I... I just wish I'd have had something to love in my life. My parents died before I could remember them and my brother wasn't very kind to me, even when I was at my youngest... I... I killed him. The one thing I can't help but think is... the only difference between me and him is that he didn't get paid, which makes me the less noble between us..."

Ketodama's interest had been piqued as he noticed the loud voices coming from the other room. He calmly made his way over to the doorway, looking down upon the decapitated man. He simply shrugged his shoulders and turned about, as if it were an everyday thing for him. He made his way towards a bed in which no one had been sleeping and sat himself down on the edge. He kept his gaze turned towards the other room, watching what was happening between Reina and Ghost. "It could have been much worse, decapitation is a merciful way to die." He thought as he continued to watch ghost and Reina, waiting to see if maybe they had noticed him.

"I see....You will find something to love...." She looked at Ketodama. "Who are you?..." She hadn't seen the person before and had no clue who it was. She didn't know whether to trust him or now. Reina kept watching him and didn't move. She didn't want to be attacked out of no where. She kept watching. Reina was still shaking a bit but now a whole lot. She managed to stop her tears though.

"Maybe... but I doubt it," Ghost said sullenly, "Reina, relax. He helped me get the sword out of my stomach after Kraive stabbed me. I might have been dead had it not been for him."

Ghost gestured for Ketodama to enter.

"What's your name?" Ghost asked him, thinking he probably wouldn't even answer.

Reina stood and quickly left the room. She had to get away. She couldn't take it. She needed some fresh air and to clear her mind. She made it outside and stopped gasping for breath. She didn't smell blood anymore. Reina slowly started to walk where she could breahe. She had to clear her head. She had to find a way to clear her mind. To clear the thought from her head. Reina stopped and took a deep breath closing her eyes. She just stood there quietly.

Selene looked up and saw Ketodama, so she stood out of her spot where she had been regrettably dozing.

"This is Ketodama. Backup...help..." she forced those words out; she hated showing pain. "from Desria."

She sat down on the side of both Reina and Ghost (in the middle) and looked at them all. "Well, we're missing Riohs and Dante wherever they've gone, and now we need to get to Avith so we can get our job done andnot anger three kings at once."

She turned to Ghost. "yeah...you ARE a pretty lucky bastard."

Ghost walked outside.

He approached Reina and said, "I remember the first time I saw a dead person... A man was walking down the street to go see his family. He enjoyed his life very much. Then, as fast as lightening, a wetboy approached him from behind and killed him," Ghost said, with a blank look on his face, "Then man fell to the ground, mumbling the word 'why?' I saw him die, and the wetboy approached me. He said, 'If you tell anyone you just saw this, you'll suffer the same fate," and walked away. I ran home that day, not wanting to see it anymore. The man was on the ground, bloodied and broken. It made me wonder, 'Is that what my parents looked like when... when they were killed?' I'll never forget that time. It... it changed my life. But such consequences come with your decision of being a wetboy or wetgirl. It's... inevitable."

Reina opened her eyes and looked at him. She listened to what he said. It's going to be with her for the rest of her life and she knew it. She was going to see more death to. Her brother died and she blamed herself. She didn't say why though. Reina looked at Ghost. "I didn't ask for any of this....I'd rather find a peaceful way instead of fighting....." She didn't what else to say so she went silent once more.

"I understand... I didn't want this either. I ran away as a child and was found by a wetboy willing to train me. I never thought I'd become what I feared the most... a killer. Despite the fact that I don't like to think of myself in that light, it's what I do. I am paid to kill."

Ghost put his hand on her shoulder and smiled at her.

"When this war is over... I'm going to go back home to Desria, find a place to live, and retire from my wetboy life. I've grown tired of all the killing and all of the blood. As soon as it ends, I'm going to take advantage of it. I'm finally going to be... at peace."

Reina looked at him. She liked the idea. After all this is over would she see her family again? Would she go back and be with them or would she go somewhere else? She didn't know. She didn't know where they were going or what they were doing. Reina didn't ask questions though. She did't want to be a bother even though she was told she wasn't a bother. Reina was usually always quiet like that moment. She stayed quiet as she listened to what Ghost had to say.

"Although," he said, "I'd be surprised if I wasn't killed before the war had a chance to be over."

Ghost let his hair fall in his face, covering most of his scar.

"And... I don't know what I would do without this war. I'd find a place to stay and lead a normal life, but... for what? I don't have anything to go back to. What would I do? Find a house and live in it until I die? That... that doesn't seem like a life for me..."

"At least you would have a house....."Reina told him. She had a frown on her face as she watched him. Reina had been living out on the streets for a while until now. She looked away not wanting to say more. Reina didn't think it was important to say anymore. She didn't look at him. She just couldn't. Reina stayed quiet and started to walk off. She didn't know what to say to him. SHe didn't know what to do.

Ghost started to go after, but decided that it was best that he leave her be.

He sighed and sat down on the street.

I'll be dead before I have the opportunity to be... just a person. This war... I'll be gone long before it is. I'll be nothing more than a memory... and one that won't be remembered as 'greatness.' I'm a killer, an assassin, a wetboy... and I regret everything.

Truth be told, Ketodama was getting rather sick from Reina and Ghost's little moment that never seemed to end. He looked to Selene for a moment, before rising from where he had been sitting on the edge of the bed. He began to make his way towards the exit to the infirmary, before stopping and turning towards her.

 

"I'll be waiting for you on the outskirts of the city. If we need to get to Avith, we can't really afford to wait for anyone for too long. You've got 'til sunset to pack up and find me or I'll be gone and we'll have to meet up in Avith."

 

He then turned back towards the main doorway to the infirmary and made his way out, passing wordlessly by Ghost and Reina. He then found a way up onto the roof of a nearby building, a stack of crates that had been left out on the road, and made his way off towards the edge of the city at a dead sprint. Taking full advantage of the fact that his days as a raider had left him quite fast and agile. Leaping from rooftop to rooftop he quickly made his way to the end of the buildings that would support his weight. Fortunately, he was atop a one-story building at this time and could drop to the ground without harming himself. He now began walking through the back alleys of the outskirts of the massive city. It was about an hour after he had left from the infirmary and he was quite ready to get out of the sun. it took him only five minutes to find the stable where he had left the pitch black horse which had carried him to the city. He smiled, finding a pack of supplies which he had brought with him and pulling a rather large carrot from it which he offered to the horse. As the horse took the carrot, he began to gently stroke the beast along the top of it's head.

 

"We'll be leaving tonight Veras, hopefully we'll be able to keep out of the sun for most of the day."

Reina walked off by herself and then walked back inside to her room. She didn't know where she was going or what to do. She stayed quiet and sat down leaning againist the wall. Reina put her head on her knees as she sat on the floor. She starts thinking to herself trying to figure out what to do. She kept trying to clear her mind. Reina curled up with so many thoughts in her head. She didn't like her mind being so full.

Ghost looked down to see a small puddle in the street. He saw the scar on his face and sighed.

"Is this what I am?" he said to himself, "An old wardog? A man whose future is an early grave caused by a blade?"

He drew his sword and slashed at the puddle.

The water was now in droplets all over the street.

Ghost put his sword away and walked inside, hair covering his scar.
