IPB is a better engine than MyBB. Now there's actually a lot MORE potential for events and contest, since this engine is compatible with a better awards system, better features, and a rep system that discourages blatant attention whoring and actually links to post quality rather than friendship spam.

 

That being said, it IS possible to add a points system to IPB, and they can link up with RPG and store systems as well.

 

Overall, it's a change for the better because it really cracks down on the level of stupid drama that can occur.

I believe we should of been informed or asked of our opinion. I for one don't really like the look of the forum now but go figure. The opinions of a forum's members clearly means jack**** because the site would die without it's members.

On the other hand this guy shelled out some big bucks for you guys to get you a better forum engine. These professional engines ain't cheap....

 

 

I gotta say I'm not lovin' the postbit though. I prefer the vertical orientation for this site, it seems like the posts are all too cramped now. But hey, it's still pretty good.

 

Also, usetheforcechan, you're an idiot. Dealing with a forum layout you don't like isn't torture. Torture is being held underwater or having your nuts zapped. It's just a forum layout. Deal with it.

Guess i will be inactive in YCM until this whole mess is sorted out.

 

IPB is a better engine than MyBB. Today rep system is abusable because we don't know who gave us rep. We can ask our friends to plus rep our posts (ex: i have 20 friends and have posted 10 posts in a day equal 20x10 = 200 plus rep a day!). Or i can neg rep anyone posts freely because they don't know who neg rep them!

 

Think of the damage to the YCM community if this rep system is allowed!

True, 2 days and I don't really like this. Saying that I'm missing 3/4s of my mod powers at the moment, so I tempted to watch my DVDs then wait to come back. (A few mods are missing from the staff list currently including myself and I don't have power in graphics....and currently there's no point in shop or requests)

 

Yea maybe we can do some better things on here, but I for one would like to have been told.

I just figured out that you can figure out who repped you. Just click on the number at the bottom right of your post.

 

The IPB Control panel is actually better. Because you can change your own username, but it can be limited to once a month.

Press the Reply button at the bottom of the post you want to quote, rather than the one at the bottom of the thread. Or you could press the MultiQuote button and then press Reply.

New logo. New layout. New software. YCMaker's got a new avatar. My post count is 1200 higher than it was before. Apparently not. I'm user no. 2 again now instead of user no. 3.
