It would appear Konami wants us to forget about another game mechanic. The Graveyard. So far it seems that Excess Summoning (the newest form of Summoning) doesn't actually send the "Overlay" monsters to the Graveyard (compare the Evolution mechanic in Duel Masters), it simply puts the Excess Monster on top of them. Ho hum.

What I've noticed that's quite odd though it that Excess Monsters are stored in the Main Deck (like Ritual Monsters), can only be Special Summoned from the hand and are Semi-Nomi until then (like Ritual Monsters), and require monsters that add up to their Level in order to summon them (like Ritual Monsters(!)). So, in a way this 'new' mechanic is Ritual Summoning without the Ritual Spell Card and slightly different tributing requirements. 'Contact Rituals' anyone...?

Effect: Your opponent must attack at least 1 "Present" monster you control during their Battle Phase. Once, you can negate the destruction of this card. If you do not, put 1 Present Counter on a face-up monster your opponent controls for each face-up "Present" monster you control. You can Special Summon this card from the Graveyard by removing from play 2 "Present" monsters you control. During each of your End Phases, put 1 Present Counter on a face-up monster on the field. Once per turn, you can remove a number of Present Counters on the field to destroy 1 monster on the field or remove from play 1 monster in either player's Graveyard whose Level is equal to the number of removed Present Counters.

Point taken and understood, Max. ;)

I'm glad we have an understanding...

More "Sanctuary" support. (I've found a stash of old Pixiv pictures and am trying to find uses for them)

EDIT:

Due to the size of this collection of images, and my impatient nature; I've to make a couple of Graveyard Fusion monsters. Notice that their effects are both on the 'evil' side of things, as you would expect from a monster that first has to be killed, then dragged from its grave to be Summoned.

The sky will burn black with your transcendant wrath. Appear before us to shine your tainted light! Occult Fusion! Brazen evil, Dark Star Draconis!

15nlx51.png

Effect: 2 Thunder-Type or "Occult" monsters

This card can only be Summoned with "Occult Fusion". When this card is Fusion Summoned, remove from play 2 cards on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Fusion Summoned. During the End Step of a turn this card battled, you can send this card to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 of the Fusion Material Monsters used to Summon this card from your Graveyard.

Carrying the whim of those betrayed, escape the spirit world. Come to the mortal realm to exact your dark revenge! Occult Fusion! Sadistic desire, Vengeful Spirit Yuana!

Effect: 2 Fairy-Type or "Occult" monsters

This card can only be Summoned with "Occult Fusion". Each time a monster on the field is destroyed, you can discard 1 Fairy-Type monster to inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's ATK. Once per duel, when a monster you control destroys a monster by battle and inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent, you can discard 2 cards from your hand to double that damaage.

EDIT 2:

The thing I find most annoying about 4Kids is not that they butcher any anime that comes their way, or that they then block all the fan-subs on Youtube, but that they then block their own episodes! This, when you look at it, is a monumental shot-in-the-foot for 4Kids, since it means newcomers have no way to acess the anime, meaning that they won't become interested and subsequently won't watch it.

In Japan, they realised copyright law in our form was self-destructive at best, so they have a rather cunning agreement. You can upload videos or produce fan-books, as long as you put a disclaimer. Now, while an American company would not allow this, Japanese companies allow it because they realised that if you allow people to encounter the anime/manga in an unofficial form, then you will become interested and most likely watch the show or buy the books.

They realised unofficial publication was basically free publicity, and so let it go on without too much interference. 4Kids has yet to understand this for some reason...

I said I would post some effects for my new archtype ( grave fusion) so here goes.

When this card is summoned add 1 level 3 or lower monster from your deck to your hand.

When this card is used for a grave fusion you gain 500 Life Points then add this card to your hand. This card can only be used for a grave fusion once.

When this card is destroyed add 1 Grave summon from your deck or graveyard to your hand.

Activate only when you have 1 or more Zombie-Type monster in your graveyard and 1 or more Zombie-Type monster on the field remove them both from play to summon 1 monster fusion monster with the correct summoing conditions.

1 Zombie-Type monster in your graveyard + 1 Zombie-Type monster on the field.

This card can only be summoned die to the effect of grave summon. When this card is grave summoned sucsessfully special summon 1 Zombie-Type monster with 1000 ATK or under from your deck. That monster cannot be used for a grave summon or attack.

Here are some OCG fixes and the like. Apologies for jumping the gun. And the name "Grave Fusion" and "Grave Summon" seem to interchange halfway through. I've taken it as you meaning "Grave Fusion" throughout.

What Level is this monster? Because unless it's a high level monster, this effect is rather overpowered.

When this card is used for a grave fusion you gain 500 Life Points then add this card to your hand. This card can only be used for a grave fusion once.

When this card is removed from play by the effect of "Grave Fusion", gain 500 Life Points. Then return this removed card to your hand. This card can only be used for the effect of "Grave Fusion" once per duel.

When this card is destroyed add 1 Grave summon from your deck or graveyard to your hand.

When this card is destroyed, you can add 1 "Grave Fusion"(?) from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

Activate only when you have 1 or more Zombie-Type monster in your graveyard and 1 or more Zombie-Type monster on the field remove them both from play to summon 1 monster fusion monster with the correct summoing conditions.

Remove from play, from your side of the field and your Graveyard, the Fusion Material Monsters listed on a Fusion Monster Card that can only be Special Summoned with "Grave Fusion" and Special Summon that monster from your Graveyard. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon).

1 Zombie-Type monster you control + 1 Zombie-Type monster in your Graveyard

This card can only be Special Summoned with "Grave Fusion". When this card is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Zombie-Type monster with 1000 or lower ATK from your Deck. That monster cannot declare an attack or be used as a Fusion Material Monster.

That's perfectly alright.

The thread's updated.

How are you all?

Okay.

I'm alright. Regretting the decision to transfer my YGO collection to a new folder. Updating an electronic archive is fine. It's filing them all that takes the time and effort. I've worked out I have at least 3000 cards, maybe more if I trawl the Secondary Collection (a set of cards that came with a folder I bought once).

Well at least this stops the easy Summon's.
