Newb Defense League III [locked because remake]

Recommended Posts

Yea, I know, I need to sum it down, I thought maybe make a different monster with ATK/DEF of 0 and so on...

I came across a little problem though, you would still have to use polymerization or some fusion thing and send just this card to the Graveyard. B/c I didn't say the fusion could be Summoned without the spell card, I also have reworded it, even though i like the way it is, but I'm not sure which is correct in the category of OCG.

These effects are for overall cards, these are not the psychic effect, will similiar, but no actuall cost yet, b/c I want to make an archtype based on these.

[spoiler=Effect #1:]

During either player's turn, select 1 Level 6 or lower Synchro or Fusion monster. This card is treated as the Synchro or Fusion material monsters listed on the selected Synchro or Fusion monster. (You can Synchro or Fusion Summon the selected Synchro or Fusion monster by tributing this card.)When this card is sent to the Graveyard, remove this card from play.

I noticed, in the above card, it would make it so you only needed it for the Fusion or Synchro monster. But in the bottom effect, you would have to have some fusing card to bring out a Fusion monster.

[spoiler=effect #2:]

Select 1 Synchro or Fusion monster in your Extra Deck. You can make the requirements listed on the selected card this card. If this card is sent to the graveyard, remove it from play.

So, in my question, which one of those are grammatically correct in card OCG, I just I might Ask.

For Psychic Extranizer, how is this?

[spoiler=New Image and effect]

Lore

2 tuners + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters. Select 1 Synchro or Fusion monster in your Extra Deck. You can pay 8000 Life Points to make the requirements listed on the selected card this card. If this card is sent to the graveyard, remove it from play.

Just thought I might ask.

Currently trying to make a competitive (ie not incredibly slow) "Valkyrion" Deck, so I can gain a few more achievements in "Reverse of Arcadia". At the moment, it's a "Heart of the Underdog"-fuelled Normal EARTH Deck, with a hint of Synchro-ness in the Side Deck, in the form of "Tune Warrior" and "Naturia Landoise". The main problems with it so far are waiting for "Heart of the Underdog" and the fact that its most powerful monster aside from "Valkyrion" is "Granmarg the Rock Monarch", since putting any other high level monsters as secondary trumps damages the Deck's balance, making it worse. Any thoughts on improving it?

On a lighter note, I managed to pull off the near-impossible "Gun Dragon" FTK. I don't know how unlikely it was, but my opening hand was beyond brilliant. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it involves the original three "Gun Dragons"; "Barrel Dragon", "Blowback Dragon" and "Gatling Dragon", and an extra 500 points of damage from somewhere. Simply put, the duel went like this (I was duelling against my Synchro Trinity Deck):

Turn 1

Opponent:

Activates "Reinforcement of the Army", adding "Marauding Captain" to his hand. Normal Summons "Marauding Captain", who Special Summons "Psychic Commander". Synchro Summons "Goyo Guardian". Special Summons "Spell Striker" by removing the "Reinforcement of the Army" in his Graveyard from play. Sets a card.

Me:

Draws and activates "Fusion Sage", adding "Polymerization" to my hand. Activates "Polymerization", sending "Barrel Dragon" and "Blowback Dragon" to Fusion Summon "Gatling Dragon". "Gatling Dragon's" effect activates, getting 2 Heads. "Goyo Guardian" and "Spell Striker" are destroyed.

Normal Summons "Blast Sphere". Attacks directly with "Blast Sphere" (Opponent LP: 8000 -> 6600) and "Gatling Dragon" (Opponent LP: 6600 -> 4000). Activates "De-Fusion", Special Summoning "Barrel Dragon" and "Blowback Dragon". Attacks directly with both. (Opponent LP: 4000 -> 0)

The Yin and Yang: Part 2 (The Strongest of All)

As mentioned previously, the "Egyptian Gods" and "Wicked Gods" are incarnations of Yin and Yang, with their trio heads ("The Winged Dragon of Ra" and "The Wicked Avatar") having effects that mix both Yin and Yang, thus rising above the other members of their trio. But what about the monsters that transcend the gods and their challengers?

I am of course talking about the few-in-number but immensely powerful Level 11 and Level 12 monsters. However, therein lies a problem. That problem being Level 11. The three monsters that currently hold that Level are all there for odd reasons. "Gate Guardian" was put there to provide a bridging point between the existing Level 10 monsters and the newly-released Level 12 monsters "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" and "Five-Headed Dragon". Therefore it would fit better as a Level 10 or indeed Level 9 (just as "Valkyrion the Magna Warrior" is a very strong Level 8 ).

"Hyper Psychic Blaster/Assault Mode" is a Level 11 due to game mechanics; being two Levels higher than its original. And so doesn't really hold any significance being there. The final monster, "Yubel - Terror Incarnate" is also a bridging monster, this time between the two other "Yubel" monsters. So, Level 11 would appear to serve little purpose than to fill the gap between Divinity (Level 10) and Chaos (Level 12).

Regardless, Level 12 certainly has a reason; to hold the most powerful creatures created. Unlike the Level 10 monster, who gained their strength through divine favour, the Level 12s draw their abilities from the much more ancient force of Primal Chaos. This is shown in their effects, since they are epitomies of the philosophy of Yin and Yang.

The two most remembered Level 12 monsters are "Five-Headed Dragon" and "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon". Now, while "Dragon Master Knight" is supposed to be a rival to "Five-Headed Dragon", "Blue-Eyes Ultimate" serves as a more fitting one, simply through virtue of its stats. Its huge ATK is the very incarnation of the Yang (active) force, countering "Five-Headed Dragon's" Yin (passive) effect. "F-H D" cannot be destroyed (except by LIGHT (Yang) monsters) and does not take Battle Damage. Both are passive effects, showing "F-H D" as a force of Yin.

Despite being a rival to "F-H D", "Dragon Master Knight" is equivalent to "F-H D" in Yin power, since its effect powers it up for other monsters, it does not actively increase its own ATK. However, that ATK gain does add a hint of Yang to the effect, perhaps the reason why "Dragon Master Knight" is presumed to be the only (old) monster that can slay "F-H D".

"Scar-Red Nova Dragon" is also a heavily Yin monster, which is fitting since "Shooting Star Dragon" is a Yang-based monster. I'll go into the Signer Dragons at a later date.

Now, balancing out the Yin monsters came the later Level 12s, "Elemental Hero Divine Neos", "Armityle the Chaos Phantom", "Malefic Truth Dragon" and "Extreme Fighting Machine King Valvaroid". All have strongly Yang (active) effects, in order: removal of a monster to gain 500 ATK and its effect; gaining 10,000 ATK during your turn, upon destruction of an opponent's monster destroys all opponent's face-up monsters; attacking twice during the Battle Phase and inflicting 1000 damage per destruction.

In fact, "Valvaroid" is probably the best example of the ultimate Yang force. Its effect allows it attack twice during the Battle Phase, it negates the effects of monsters it battles with, and every time it destroys a monster by battle, it inflicts 1000 damage to the opponent. However, supreme Yang power lacks the crutial hint of opposing force, which is why is does have severe weaknesses. It cannot attack directly, and compared to other Level 12s' 5000 ATK, it has 'only' 4000 ATK, putting it at the level of the gods.

Finally, "Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare". It would seem to spring to mind as a Yin monster, considering its battle immunity and negation of battle damage. And indeed, this is true of the other "Yubel" monsters; they are strongly Yin monsters. But, as with all very strong monsters, they have a hint of the opposite force, giving them an advantage, and it grows with each successive "Yubel" form, reaching its zenith with "The Ultimate Nightmare". Its final effect is incredibly Yang, creating a paradox of extreme Yin and Yang within one monster, showing that any monster which can command Chaos (Yin and Yang together) is nigh-on invincible.

Guess who has returned? I have been busy with homework and things like that. How is everyone?

I'm good. Mainly be preparing for the start of term. YGO-wise, I've been working on my trio of Decks (Synchro Trinity [Level 3 Synchro Deck], Heaven's Wrath [Counter Fairies/ATK and LP-gain], and Dark Imperium [Gyzarus/Gaiodiaz Gladiator Beasts]), trying to make them a little bit faster, and in Heaven's Wrath's case, getting more firepower out much more quickly.

Have been rather successful in using a pair of "Chaos-End Masters" to Synchro Summon "Ancient Sacred Wyvern" (I am tolerating Synchros now; since there's nothing I can do to get rid of them), and using it in combo with my original LP-gain/"Parshath" strategy to get two or three 8000+ ATK monsters on the field within a few turns to provide an unrelenting wave of ever-increasing power.

Seriously, having a 10,000 ATK "Neo-Parshath" (+ "United We Stand") and two 8,000 ATK "Ancient Sacred Wyverns" on the field is incredibly satisfying, and knowing that you have a "Dark Bribe", "Divine Wrath" and "Black Horn of Heaven" ready to counter anything your opponent could do is even better.

Other than that, not much has happened for me.
