Max Darkness
If I may change the subject...a new, and highly confusing archetype to look at! Effect: If a "Malevolent" Fusion Monster you control would be destroyed: You can destroy this card in your hand instead. If this card in your hand is used for the Fusion Summon of a "Malevolent" Fusion Monster: You can select 1 monster your opponent controls that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck; Your opponent loses Life Points equal to its Level OR Rank x 100. Effect: Cannot be Special Summoned. You can treat this face-up card as 2 monsters for the Fusion Summon of a "Malevolent" Fusion Monster. When a Fusion Monster that used this card as its only Fusion Material Monster is Fusion Summoned: Draw a number of cards equal to the number of "Malevolent" Fusion Monsters you controlled when this effect was activated. Effect: If this card is used for the Fusion Summon of a "Malevolent" Fusion Monster: When your opponent Special Summons a Level 7 or higher Effect Monster from their hand or Deck; Banish this card (in your Graveyard), and that monster loses its effect, until your next End Phase. Effect: 2 DARK or FIRE "Malevolent" monstersMust be Fusion Summoned from the Graveyard. When this card is Fusion Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 of its Level 4 or lower Fusion Material Monsters; It loses its effect, and cannot attack. Effect: 2 DARK or FIRE "Malevolent" monstersMust be Fusion Summoned from the Graveyard. When this card attacks, or is attacked by a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck: You can have that monster lose its effect, until the End Phase. Until the End Step: If this card battles a monster affected by this card's effect, and that monster would activate its effect(s); Your opponent loses 800 Life Points. Lexadin
@Max: Tbqh, I don't find them to be that confusing. They are all good in what they do. I see the Fusions are Death Fusions. Also, a lot of negation effects? Are you planning on using them in one of your fics?
Max Darkness
@Max: Tbqh, I don't find them to be that confusing. I said that because it took me a surprisingly large number of tries before I got the wording right for "Ame-Yokai's" effect. They are all good in what they do. I see the Fusions are Death Fusions. Also, a lot of negation effects? Are you planning on using them in one of your fics? They're the third part of the 'Death Summon Trinity', all of whom focus on getting rid of your opponent's Extra Deck, and monsters therein (and may well featur in a fic at some point, but at the moment, it's just the completion of the vision). The "Occult Scientia" (Death Synchro) trumps and their support destroy your opponent's Extra Deck to stop your opponent from getting them on the field in the first place; the "Narakans" (Death Ritual) have a large number of Grave lockdown effects, preventing your opponent from getting them back; and these, the "Malevolents" use their effects to stop your opponent from gaining an advantage from using their Extra Deck. Max Darkness
The wording can be a b*tch like that. This one was. Especially considering the rules about 'Losing its effect' are still in beta... No mather which you use, any Deck that relies on the Extra Deck (except for other 'Death' users) will have problems with fighting this. Well, that's the idea. To make "Brionac" a liability, not a strength.

Max Darkness
Well, here it is. I haven't finished the very end, but I feel I've kept you waiting too long to justify spending more time on that. The duels are complete, and hopefully go a way to explain why I chose the cards I did. [spoiler=1. Feathers of the Same Wing]“Duel!” Turn 1 “I’ll start! I activate ‘Reinforcement of the Army’, adding ‘Marauding Captain’ to my hand! I then Normal Summon it, activating its effect! It’s Special Summons ‘Spell Striker’ from my hand. I overlay my two monsters to Xyz Summon ‘Grenosaurus’!” The fire-breathing dinosaur rose from the summoning vortex, roaring as it appeared to both duelists. Lex noticed that a small crowd had gathered around the pair, clearly intrigued to see if a child could beat him, a young adult. Lex knew the crowd would side with the younger duelist, even though it was he who was challenged. “I activate the Equip Spell ‘Axe of Despair’, which increases ‘Grenosaurus’’ ATK by 1000!” (Grenosaurus ATK: 2000 -> 3000) “I end my turn there.” “Fine. I’ll draw.” Looking at his hand, Lex wondered whether to draw the duel out or to finish it with the cards he held. With the sky turning red, he decided to make this quick, and brutal. “I Normal Summon ‘Gem-Knight Alexandrite’!” The brilliant white monster was veiled in a shimmering aura as it appeared. “I now activate ‘Alexandrite’s’ effect, Tributing it to Special Summon ‘Gem-Knight Crystal’ from my Deck!” The first monster sublimed, and was replaced by the glittering form of ‘Gem-Knight Crystal’.“It’s still not powerful enough to defeat my monster you know?” Taunted the kid.“You’re not familiar with the ‘Gem-Knight’ archetype are you?” Replied Lex, who continued. “I activate ‘Double Summon’, which allows me to Normal Summon a second time this turn. I use it to Summon ‘Gem-Knight Tourmaline’!” A golden flash heralded the appearance of the new monster. “And now, because I control the correct materials, I activate ‘Particle Fusion’, fusing my two monsters together!” From Gaia’s bounty comes her most prized warrior! Scythe through to victory! Fusion Summon! Terran lightning, Gem-Knight Topaz! A colossal bolt of lightning struck the fusion spiral as the new monster appeared, cloaked in electrical energy. A small ripple of confusion went through the crowd.“That’s…only got 1800 ATK…” Stated Lex’s opponent, bewildered as to his opponent’s strategy.“Only when it’s Summoned, because ‘Particle Fusion’s’ second effect now comes into play.” Lex replied slyly. “When it is used for its primary purpose, it can then banish itself from the Graveyard to grant the Fusion Monster it Summoned ATK equal to one of its materials! I choose to increase ‘Gem-Knight Topaz’s’ ATK by ‘Gem-Knight Crystal’s’!” A mist of glowing orbs surrounded Lex’s monster as it absorbed them through its tonfa, changing them to a burning white. (Topaz ATK: 1800 -> 4250) The audience, and his opponent finally understood his end-game. “Attack! ‘Topaz’, strike down ‘Grenosaurus’!” Using its right-hand weapon, it sliced through the dinosaur, the shockwave throwing his opponent off his feet. (Opponent LP: 4000 -> 2750) Swinging round, a ball of charged energy formed in ‘Topaz’s’ hands. “’Topaz’s’ effect activates! When it destroys a monster by battle, you take damage equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster!” The orb crashed into his staggering adversary. (Opponent LP: 2750 -> 750) Picking himself up, the kid was looking to Lex to end his turn, but he simply pointed to his monster; the left-hand blade was still glowing strongly. “’Topaz’s’ effect allows it to attack twice during the Battle Phase…” (Opponent LP: 750 -> 0) The duel over, Lex turned away.“Guess this means I’m out of the tournament right?” The kid asked, holding out his Heart Piece.“No. Consider this a lesson in how you need to improve. I have someone else in my sights.” With that, Lex walked down the street, towards another duel. *** Lex always found duels in which no attacks took place strange. Watching an overwhelming burn victory was interesting, but at the same time esoteric. However, one of the combatants was the one he wanted to face. Ryoga Kamishiro. Through that duel, he had obtained his second Heart Piece, the same number as Lex. As the defeated duelist left and the crowd dispersed, Lex approached Ryoga. Some of those watching recognised both as former Pro Circuit Duelists and stayed around, hoping to see a high-class duel. “I didn’t expect you to be here. I thought you quit duelling.” Lex started.“I have my reasons…” Ryoga retorted, coldly.“I see you have two Heart Pieces. I do too.” Holding out his Piece Holder, Lex could see Ryoga was becoming interested.“What are you suggesting?”“Give these people a performance. Something they’ll remember. One Piece each. The winner gets one step closer to the finals, and loser has to start from scratch.”“Why not just wager both of them?” The other replied.“Because I want the chance to face you in the finals. A chance I never got in the Pro Circuit.” With that, Ryoga took a few paces backwards, ready to duel. Lex noticed, and did the same. The crowd began to grow, waiting restlessly. “Duel!” [spoiler=2. The Match That Never Was]“Duel!” Turn 1 “I’ll begin!” Declared Ryoga. “I Normal Summon ‘Friller Rabca’, and activate the effect of ‘Shark Stickers’ in my hand! When I Normal or Special Summon an Aqua, Fish or Sea Serpent-Type monster, I can Special Summon it from my hand! I overlay my two monsters!” I use my two monsters to create the overlay network! Xyz Summon! Submersible Carrier Aero Shark! The bizarre mechanical construction howled as it burst from the ground.“I activate ‘Aero Shark’s’” effect, detaching an overlay unit to inflict 400 damage to you for each card in my hand. I have four cards in my hand, so you take 1600 damage!” The overlay unit was absorbed into the central pod, and a burst of torpedoes shot out, buffeting Lex. (Lex LP: 4000 -> 2400) “I’ll end my turn by Setting two cards face-down.” “Draw! I Normal Summon ‘Gem-Knight Alexandrite’, and activate its effect, Tributing it to Special Summon a ‘Gem-Knight’ Normal Monster from my Deck. In this case, I’ll choose ‘Gem-Knight Crystal’!” Once again, a rainbow of colour preceded the new monster. “I’ll then activate ‘White Elephant’s Gift’, sending ‘Crystal’ to the Graveyard to draw two cards.” Lex smiled at the drawn cards. “I activate ‘Gem-Knight Fusion’, fusing the ‘Gem-Knight Garnet’ and ‘Gem-Knight Obsidian’ in my hand together!” From Gaia’s bounty comes her strongest vanguard! Pierce through to victory! Fusion Summon! Terran inferno, Gem-Knight Ruby! The fusion spiral was consumed by molten rock as the monster was Summoned, partially hidden by a heat-haze.“This is just the start! I activate ‘Gem-Knight Obsidian’s’ effect! When it is sent from my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from my Graveyard! I Special Summon ‘Gem-Knight Garnet’!” The monster reappeared in a flaming surge, sending a warm shock through the augmented reality system. “I then activate ‘Gem-Knight Fusion’s’ second effect! By banishing a ‘Gem-Knight’ from my Graveyard, I can return it to my hand to use again! I banish ‘Gem-Knight Obsidian’!” The card reappeared in Lex’s hand, before he threw it onto his duel disk. “With ‘Gem-Knight Fusion’, I fuse ‘Gem-Knight Garnet’ and the ‘Gem-Knight Tourmaline’ in my hand together!” From Gaia’s bounty comes her most prized warrior! Scythe through to victory! Fusion Summon! Terran lightning, Gem-Knight Topaz! “And ‘Topaz’s’ low ATK will not be an issue for much longer! I activate ‘Gaia Power’!” A brown-green mist engulfed the battlefield, before forming into a dense, sunlit forest. “’Gaia Power’ increases the ATK of all EARTH monsters by 500, at the cost of reducing their DEF by 400.” (Ruby ATK/DEF: 2500 -> 3000/1300 -> 900) (Topaz ATK/DEF: 1800 -> 2300/1800 -> 1400) “Now, ‘Gem-Knight Topaz’ attacks ‘Submersible Carrier Aero Shark’!”“I activate ‘Poseidon Waves’, which both negates your attack, and inflicts damage to you equal to the number of Aqua, Fish, and Sea Serpent-Type monsters I control multiplied by 800!” ‘Topaz’ had to dodge the tsunami, which forced Lex back. (Lex LP: 2400 -> 1600)“In that case, ‘Gem-Knight Ruby’ attacks ‘Aero Shark’!” Ryoga laughed.“I’ll stop you again! I activate ‘Friller Rabca’s’ effect! While it is in the Graveyard, I can banish it to negate an opponent’s attack.” ‘Ruby’ was stopped by a vision of the monster. “In addition, that monster loses 500 ATK.” (Ruby ATK: 3000 -> 2500)“I still have one attack left! ‘Topaz’ can attack twice each turn, and you’ve run out of protection for ‘Aero Shark’! Attack again!” This time, the attack was successful. Ryoga’s monster cried out as it was hewn in two by its opponent. (Ryoga LP: 4000 -> 3600)“’Topaz’s’ effect activates! When it destroys a monster by battle, it inflicts damage equal to the destroyed monster’s ATK!” An electrical ball careered towards Ryoga.“I activate my face-down ‘Aqua Void’! This both negates your effect damage, and Special Summons my banished ‘Friller Rabca’! A column of water rose between Ryoga and the lightning orb, taking the blow, and parting to reveal the newly-Summoned monster.“I end my turn by Setting one card face-down.” Lex finished. Turn 3 “I draw!” Ryoga smiled aggressively as he looked at the trio of cards in his hand. “I Tribute ‘Friller Rabca’ to Tribute Summon ‘Jawsman’!” The bizarre shark-creature roared as it took the place of the other monster. “I then activate ‘Aqua Jet’, increasing the ATK of all WATER monsters I control by 1000 for this turn!” (Jawsman ATK: 2600 -> 3600) A pair of turbines bolted themselves to Ryoga’s monster. “’Jawsman’ attacks ‘Gem-Knight Ruby’!” The aquatic beast leapt up, followed by the spiralling wake of ‘Aqua Jet’. Crashing down, it tore through Lex’s monster, the shock throwing the duelist to the floor. (Lex LP: 1600 -> 500) “I end my turn with a card face-down…” Picking himself up, Lex drew to start his turn. “I’ll skip straight to my Battle Phase, and activate ‘Doublet Fusion’, which bani-fuses the ‘Gem-Knight Alexandrite’ and ‘Gem-Knight Crystal’ in my Graveyard!” From Gaia’s bounty comes her very embodiment! Smash through to victory! Fusion Summon! Terran earthquake, Gem-Knight Zirconia! The gigantic warrior easily dwarfed the other monsters of the field, its fists almost as long as the battlefield.“Go, ‘Zirconia’! Destroy ‘Jawsman’!” Ryoga laughed.“Did you forget about ‘Frilled Rabca’?! Tributing it put it back in my Graveyard, ready to activate again! I activate its effect, banishing it to negate your attack and cause your monster to lose 500 ATK!” Once again, a translucent vision of the monster appeared, blocking Lex’s assault. (Zirconia ATK: 3400 -> 2900)“…A monster Fusion Summoned with ‘Doublet Fusion’ is destroyed at the end of the turn…”“So that mistake cost you far more than it should have?”“Not exactly. I activate ‘White Elephant’s Gift’, which sends ‘Gem-Knight Zirconia’ to the Graveyard, but with the added benefit of drawing two cards.” Lex looked at the pair of draws. “I Set both cards in my hand, and end my turn.” Turn 5 “I draw!” Ryoga’s glance was caught by his drawn card, and he began laughing. “This is over! I Summon ‘Skystarray’ in Attack Position! You might not know this, but ‘Skystarray’ can attack my opponent directly! Go, end this duel!” The light yellow manta soared towards Lex as one of his face-down cards revealed itself.“I activate ‘Call of the Earthbound’! This, when an opponent attacks, switches the attack target of that attack! I switch ‘Skystarray’s’ attack from myself to ‘Gem-Knight Topaz’!” A pair of ghostly hands grabbed hold of Ryoga’s monster, and pulled it toward ‘Topaz’, which readied its weapons.“I’ll activate ‘Rapid Tag-Out’!” Ryoga countered, somewhat flustered. “If a monster I control attacks, and would battle; I can change the battle to another monster I control! I choose ‘Jawsman’ to battle with ‘Topaz’ instead!” With that, the small creature vanished, and was replaced by the bipedal shark, ‘Topaz’ being crushed underneath it. (Lex LP: 500 -> 200)“’Rapid Tag-Out’ does not treat the battling monster as having attacked yet. And you are now completely open! ‘Jawsman’! Direct attack!” The monster charged.“I still have this! I activate “Birthright”, which Special Summons a Non-Effect Monster from my Graveyard to the field in Attack Position! Be reborn, ‘Gem-Knight Zirconia’!” This time, it was Ryoga’s monster that stopped dead.“…I cancel my attack, and end my turn.” Lex exhaled. Too close for comfort. “Draw!” Lex’s smile grew as he formulated his end-game. “I activate ‘Beyond Gallantry’! With this Spell, I target my banished ‘Gem-Knight Crystal’ and the ‘Gem-Knight Garnet’ in my hand. At the cost of ‘Crystal’ being locked in the Banished Zone, ‘Garnet’ returns to my hand and I draw one card. Next, I activate the effect of ‘Gem-Knight Fusion’, banishing ‘Gem-Knight Tourmaline’ to return it to my hand. I then activate it, fusing ‘Gem-Knights Garnet’ and ‘Zirconia’!” From Gaia’s bounty comes her greatest power! Blaze through to victory! Fusion Summon! Terran eruption, Gem-Knight Citrine! “Now I-““I activate my face-down ‘Burial from a Different Dimension’!” Interrupted Ryoga. “This returns up to three of my banished monsters to my Graveyard! But I’m using it for only one monster, ‘Friller Rabca’! You can’t get past my Deck!”“That was an…unfortunate time to declare that Ryoga.” Replied Lex. “I attack ‘Jawsman’ with ‘Gem-Knight Citrine’!”“In that case, I’ll use ‘Friller Rabca’s’ effect to-““You can’t!”Lex cried. “‘Citrine’s’ effect blocks any card effects you might try to use when it attacks. So ‘Jawsman’ is utterly unprotected! But I haven’t finished yet! Because our monsters are now battling, I can activate ‘An Ally’s Spirit’! This is a Normal Spell that can only be activated at the start of the Damage Step. It targets two Fusion Monsters; my face-up ‘Gem-Knight Citrine’, and the ‘Gem-Knight Topaz’ in my Graveyard and banishes ‘Topaz’ to grant its effect to ‘Citrine’, in addition to any effects it has already, at the cost of destroying it at the end of the Battle Phase!” ‘Gem-Knight Citrine’s’ blade finally sliced through its foe, the burning shock catching Ryoga off-guard. (Ryoga LP: 3600 -> 3500)“Now, ‘Citrine’ inflicts damage to you equal to your destroyed monster’s ATK, since it bears ‘Topaz’s’ effect!” A red version of ‘Topaz’s’ electrical orb shot out of ‘Citrine’s’ sword, blasting Ryoga off his feet. (Ryoga LP: 3500 -> 900)“But that’s not it! Remember, ‘Topaz’ can attack twice during the Battle Phase, and ‘Citrine’ prevents you from activating any effects when it attacks! This duel is mine! Vulcan Blade!” Ryoga was sent crashing into the ground by the final blow, several pieces of virtual concrete being thrown into the crowd. (Ryoga LP: 900 -> 0) Most of the crowd were silent; they had not expected the lower-ranked duelist to pull off such a violent, and effective final turn. Northern Sage
That was EPICNeed some opinion on this.2 Level 5 MonstersWhile this card has Xyz Materials: It cannot be destroyed by battle. Your opponent takes all Battle Damage from battles involving this card. Once per turn: If this card attacks an opponent's monster successfully; You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; It can attack again. Your opponent cannot select another monster on your side of the field as an attack target.Because I apparently love Yubel/Sphreeze clauses. Master White
@Max: Just curious b/c you are usually smart with effects, I want to base an archetype of monsters who gain there effects by attaching spells/traps. The spells/traps don't get their effects while attached.....When you detach them, they go to the graveyard...... So, I am curious though, how would I go bout doing this? B/c Xyz's attachment works where you can place them underneath, I wonder how I could word that for regular monsters.....Thats why I need your help if you can/would....I'd really appreciate it.... My thought was like this maybe.... Card Cannot be Summoned except by attaching 2 Spell or Trap cards. (The attached cards are underlayed this card) When this card is attacked: Detach 1 card from this card; negate the attack..... Not exact but gives you an idea..... Max Darkness
That was EPIC Thanks. Need some opinion on this. Because I apparently love Yubel/Sphreeze clauses. I'm always in two minds about cards like this. I'll explain: * Anime Mind: I find this slightly overpowered since it has a powerful effect, and is supported through its Zombie Typing.* TCG Mind: "Adreus" is probably better, and this can be wiped out by any number of effects. So...in the anime, it would be a true antagonist's card (think the Decks used by the villains of Season 3 of GX), and would be a two-episode duel. But in the real game, it would probably end up condemned to the EN080+ cards of a set as an anime special card, with some duelists finding a small use for it. @Max: Just curious b/c you are usually smart with effects, I want to base an archetype of monsters who gain there effects by attaching spells/traps. If this card is attacked: You can detach 1 card attached to this card; Negate that attack.' or 'Cannot be Set. Can only be Normal Summoned by attaching 2 face-up Spell or Trap Cards you control.' If you don't state that they are face-up, you must have the bracketed clause from the first effect.

It doesn't add anything to any specific strategy or Decktype, so will never be used, nor printed. I'll admit though that it is the longest effect I've ever seen, but only because he goes through every Type and Attribute to make it that length. Lol@theOTK. I now see why you chose the cards you did. I must say I really like the 'Doublet Fusion'/'White Elephant Statue' combo, though it seems hard to pull off IRL.'Beyond Gallantry' seems like an excelent support card though. Anywho, I must say I quite enjoyed this duel. And thanks for taking the time to write it for me. @Max: Thank you, i surely appreciate it, the first one will work for now, as I'm just devoloping it while I get spammed comments on the Synchro Some more, well good comments saying op'd/up'd and etc.... Oh, and Darkplant - fear is trying to beat your record for longest effect card ever made......He's got it good, but I still say unplayable do to the fact, that, I wouldn't read a book to my opponent, they'd get up and go somewhere else..... Lol, I read it. And that's quite true.
Max Darkness
@Max: Okay, good, thats what I thought, just plain pointless.....I was wondering if any other reasons other then mine would make it worthless..... And yea, but even you can do that with types and stuff.... So, do you know much about Zexal, I don't think I've started watching it latelye, last episode I think was 25, so has gone completely horrible yet? Has yuma died, I want him to, then come back as a zombie....lol....Just kidding..... It's still terrible if that's what you're asking. The main characters are still crap/boring, the antagonists are still unbelievable/unlikeable, and the plot is rehash after rehash.
Master White
Max: Ah, okay then, I guess I'll wait to watch it when i feel up to watching cr*p....... So, do youhave any new archetypes coming up? Just wondering...
Max Darkness
So, do youhave any new archetypes coming up? Just wondering... Currently working through the "Malevolents" you saw above; and I'm constantly updating my "Skybornes" so that they are the pinnacle of meta-strategy anti-meta. Because Konami keeps releasing new sets, I'm having to second-guess their moves before I post the set.
Master White
@Max: Ah, I see.....Hmm....Well, I'm trying to figure out a new way to make my new Arch see playable and new/refreshing, you know hos dark worlds rely on discarding or something, some Archetypes rely on themselves, others rely on Special Summoning....Well, other then relying on spells/traps, I also want to make them rely on something new that would still help you win, but I'm not sure what....I'm thinking though.... Max Darkness
@ Anyone interested: Two of the support cards used by the "Gem-Knight" Deck. Thought you might want to see their full effects, rather than the effect they applied during the duel. Effect: During your Battle Phase, when a monster you control attacked and would battle: Target 1 monster in your Graveyard of the same kind of card (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz) in your Graveyard that was destroyed by battle; Banish that target, and your monster gains the effect(s) of the banished monster. During that Battle Phase: At the end of the Battle Phase OR when your monster cannot attack; Banish it. Effect: Target 1 of your banished Normal Monsters: Return 1 Normal Monster in your Graveyard with a Level equal to or lower than that target to your hand, and draw 1 card; That target cannot leave the Banished Zone.
