Newb Defense League III [locked because remake]

Recommended Posts

I didn't pull them(!) I bought them as singles. The only good things I've got out of my GENF boosters were 'Tiras', 'Adreus', 'Wonder Wand' and 'A Hero Lives'.

Ah, I see....I prefer to pull them as I see it is cheaper to buy 20 packs and get the card you want then going online to find it....Trish cost 50 some bucks, I got it for half that and some other good cards.....

Exvc ....Really, 'A Hero Lives' is a good card i have that I believe, if its Ultra or Secret, it'll be in my binder...if it is black with holofoil, well, then I'm not going to go searching for it.....

Really?! I wanted 16 of the GENF holofoils. So to do that I would have had to buy at least 16 packs, probably more and a Special Edition. So let's say 20 plus a Special Edition. That's £75 (20 x £3.25 + £10). However, altogether the 15 cards cost £6.57 with just under £8 shipping and costs. Overall, they cost £14.50; a fifth of what getting them through boosters would have at least cost.

'A Hero Lives' (Ultra/Ultimate) is not a great card; you need to have an empty field, and pay half your Life Points to get a Level 4 out. It's only useful as a late-game card, and by then you really should be controlling the field in a HERO Deck.

Well, if I go to the store in Walmart here in Miles City, I can get 5 packs for 12 dollars, 10 for 22, and etc.....I go online and get the cards I want, "A hero lives would be around $5.48 dollars depending rarity, +shipping and handling, I already just spent 12 dollars for 1 card, so I'm often to buy packs instead......and I have to spend at least 7 dollars in order to get what I want on yugiohmint

If I feel lik it, sometmes i buy a tin in Walmart, like i did yesterday.....I grabbed Photon Galaxy Eyes dragon or whatever its called, not anything worthwhile at al, just a 2 star TG synchro.....

Ah, yea, okay, its Eyed, gotcha....I bought it thinking it was another version of stardust, yet again, come to find it isn't......ugh, oh well, I'm happy to say I have the original Red Dragon Archfiend Ultra Rare still....

What is the Synchro you can get ghost rare that is counter part to Red Nova that takes Formula Synchron, I pulled that one from a pack which was ghost rare and stupidly traded it off for winged dragon of ra-effect version

----------

Edit: According to yugiohmint, glow-up bulb is now worth more then Trish, dang, goes off to shoot konami in the place where it counts....

Yep, such things happen.

Also, Max I think I've finished 2 boss cards.

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 2 Union Monster you control OR 1 monster you control equipped to an Union Monster. When this card is destroyed by its own effect: draw 1 card then Special Summon this card. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: you can equip this card to a face-up Union Monster you control as an Equip Card, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. Increase the equipped monster's ATK and DEF by 800. While equipped to a monster by this effect: you can banish 1 Union Monster in your Graveyard; This card gains the banished monster's effect until the End Phase. (If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

GEPD can be either 'Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon' or 'Photon Galaxy-Eyed Dragon' (which is its European translation).

It's so 'Malefic Stardust Dragon' is now legal. The same reason why 'Beast King Barbaros' came out in the last set of tins. It's possible that 'Malefic Truth Dragon' or the 'Meklord Emperors' will be released with the 2012 Tins.

'Shooting Star Dragon'.

Diigarock:

You should be able to tribute the monsters from your hand as well as the field, otherwise it's a real annoyance to get out. Plus, the secondary summoning effect should be: '1 monster you control equipped with a Union Monster'. I was also expecting more than a simple ATK/DEF boost effect and small effect gain for a big Level 8 with 2800/3100. (I say small since most Unions don't have that powerful effects, and you need to banish them as the cost)

Lotus Guardian:

I like this a lot more. This time the Summoning conditions are justified with a genuinely powerful effect. Also, I the abuse you could play with 'Valhalla'.

Just wanted to be sure.

Why you want to join: I want to improve my card designing skills. Or maybe that's not really a reason! I don't know!

Favorite Card: It's a mix-up between Daigusto Sphreeze and Clear Vice Dragon. Both are stupidly good at least in my opinion.

Do you play the game in real life: Not anymore.

How you were referred to the club: Normally, through the forums.

Personally, I thought that the draw power it gives when it SS itself would justify 'Diigarok's' somewhat simple effects. Though I gues I can chance the boost to 1200?

The problem I have with it is that it needs to be destroyed through its own effect. So it needs to get on the field first (which takes up two monsters), and then be equipped (so you need a third, or a way to re-Summon one of the previously-Tributed monsters, so a third card). It then needs to be destroyed, which incredibly is harder to do now than it used to be. It's more common to walk into a card that banishes or bounces your monster than destroys it, since they are more anti-meta. As such, although getting it to blow up is easier than the first step, you still need to be sure your opponent will counter your moves. After all that, THEN you get the draw.

I will admit though, that after that it is a nice source of easy-returning Draw Power, so much so that I would restrict it to not being able to re-equip that turn, since 'Roll Out!'/'Combination Attack' would be quite a nice little combo to gain a decent amount of field advantage. So, I would make it easier to Summon, because you need to wait a little while before it is able to truly come of use. If you took off that slow start, it will be a true boss Union.

Mhh, you have a good point there. I think I'll make it somewhat easier to Summon then.

How about this: You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 Union Monster you control OR by sending 1 Union Monster equipped to a monster you control to the Graveyard. I think that is certainly better. My only persisting thought is to make it unequippable for the rest of the turn. I say this because of the self-named 'Formation Combination' (This would usually Special Summon itself during the Battle Phase, so it applies). You control two monsters, at least one a Union Monster. You attack, and then activate 'Formation Union', combining the pair. You then activate 'Combination Attack', splitting them and allowing both to attack a second time. Now, currently this can only do a certain amount of damage due to the low ATK of most Unions. However, if large Unions start hitting the field, this could become quite a deadly, and easy combo. Just something to bear in mind.

(Current) OCG Fix:

You can Tribute 1 Union Monster on your side of the field: Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn: During your Main Phase; You can equip this card to a Union Monster you control OR unequip it to Special Summon it in Attack Position. While equipped to a monster: That monster gains 800 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Union Monster in your Graveyard; Apply the equipped monster for the banished monster's effect, until the End Phase. When this equipped card is destroyed by its own effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can draw 1 card; Special Summon this card (from your Graveyard). (If the equipped monster would be destroyed: You can destroy this card instead)

Bandwagon-ness, I suppose.

2 Level 7 Monsters

Once per turn: During your Main Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Machine-type Monster from your hand or Graveyard: Equip this card to the Special Summoned Monster. The equipped Monster's original ATK is treated as 3000. Once per turn: You can unequip it: Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. Once per turn: If the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle: You gain Life Points equal to half the ATK of the destroyed monster. (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed: Destroy this card instead.)

Probably terrible. I just wanted a go at Xyz Unions.

The fact is, your card would more likely be used for Machines in general, since a 3000 ATK LIGHT beatstick would probably quite helpful. It also provides an easy way to salvage Exceed or Synchro materials.

I still have yet to fathem how Konami intends to make Rank 6 and 7 Exceeds playable, due to the lack of a strategy associated with them.

@Max: They'll either have some incredibly stupid way of maing it so its way to broken or come up with a whole new card concept like inbetween Synchro/exceed card thing......Its konami, expect the unexpected stupidity...

That gives me an idea, hmm, i wonder....

Then again, i was stupid to accept a challenge from my friends, so I guess we are fair there......i'm starting to think its impossible to make a Balanced Playable Original 30000 ATK card that can attack....I told them we'll see....I'm going to tell them improbable to have it balanced.....

Thats my stuff though....

on another nnote, I'm trying to decide whether to buy the 76.69 dollar hidden arsenal fisrt edition 24 pack box or go with the generation force one, or something more worthwhile I'm not sure on.....any idea's?

I'm still wondering how to help you with that. That's why I haven't replied.

I believe the next episode of Zexal will provide some sort of way to bring out 3 Level 7s in one turn. Though that would most likely involve being anime specific.

Probably. The last time they showcased a Rank 7 ('No.11'), they had to create a slew of Level 7s that Special Summoned themselves that will never get released.
