Well, the new banlist is out. First the good news, "Fishborg Blaster", "Mind Master", "Giant Trunade", and "Royal Oppression" have all been banned. Now, the overwhelmingly bad news.

"Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" is back at 1. You know, the card that in 2004 swept the nationals and thus prompted its own banning? So...yeah... "Debris Dragon", "Formula Synchron", "Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En", "Lonefire Blossom" and "Trishula" all join it in Limited. So, with "Shi En" now Limited, it should only be another two years before Konami sees that it should be banned (see "Goyo Guardian"). And since none of the other STON "Six Sams" have been touched, it's still as easy to summon... "Lonefire Blossom" is out-dated, and over-powered support that should be banned, so it's getting there.

Along with the ancient monster-killer that is "BLS", "Heavy Storm" is back! A card described by Konami last time round as too powerful since it targets what isn't easily regenerated is apparently now perfectly alright, but its counterpart that simply returns those Spells and Traps is broken(!) "Pot of Avarice", "Primal Seed" and "Shien's Smoke Signal" are all down to one as well.

In the Semi-Limited lists, only one Unlimited card has come down: "Dewlorean". Otherwise, it's a raft of former Limiteds, including "Neco Gardna", "Summoner Monk", "Tragodia", "Destiny Draw", "Swords of Revealing Light", "Call of the Haunted" and "Mind Crush" are up to two. Well done on breaking your own game Konami, well done.

But the worst is yet to come, since we now have to see which cards Konami thought are now eligible for 3-in-a-Deck. And we start with...! "Judgment Dragon"?! What?! Since when is that even 1-in-a-Deck material? God! Following that we have..."Spirit Reaper"! Again, what?! And now, "MST" is at three. Konami seems to have forgotten its own game if it thinks Spells and Traps can be so easily replaced... "Megamorph" and "Overload Fusion" are back, but they are actually acceptable decisions. Unlike the choice to bring back "Gravity Bind" AND "Icarus Attack"!

Dear Konami, I once enjoyed playing your card game. Unfortunately, since it is clear you have a 10-year-old writing your banlist, I will no longer be purchasing your product. Faithfully, a man with a braincell.

I hate this world...

@Max: I think it is so kids that buy the less harder to find version cards they can play with them in the tourney, a thing called "Playing the round table" type deal.Well, its a metaphor meaning, let the kids that never got to play their cards and play them for awhile and then ban them and the other cards again next banlist so its fair.....in Konami's mind which I think. Then again, if Konami was fair, it'd let go of cyber har, my all time fvorite card, first got it and couldn't use it b/c it was banned.

So, really, I don't hardly play anymore, b/c of Konami's idiotic trio of idiots running amuc in their factory.

If it was me, I'd set up a revolving chart banlist. So it would be fair. It may not be fair, but think about it. One kid gets his deck and wins the champions, then next kid comes in and gets disqualified b/c they didn't jump online to find out, never got to play their deck, probably destroy/burn them and never play again......I've heard about that and I've seen it done here, in mini-game tournaments.....

My preference is for what some MTG players are doing, called 'Combination Bans'. Basically, if you run one card in your Deck, you're either not allowed to run another or are only allowed one of that. An example in YGO would be that if you have "Quickdraw Synchron", you are not allowed to use "Dandylion" or "Plaguespreader Zombie". Or, if you use "Legendary Six Samurai Shi En", you can only use one each of the STOR or EXVC "Six Samurai". That would not penalise those who want to continue using the STON "Six Samurai", but would reign in the meta version.

White's Notes: Really, well, that is cool, but I can simply get the last three online for about 10-15 bucks on yugiohmint, but I guess, it was worth it, I wanted to build a wind-up deck anyhow, you got any tips for me?

While we are at this, now lets say an evil version of Yuma came into play in the show, would it be a smart, demanding, prick or what? Just wondering......

Re: Wind-Ups

Them, plus any Spells or Traps that can flip your monsters face-down: "Book of Moon" and "Book of Eclipse". There aren't that many non-Archetype cards that actually work with them.

It will be like all the times when an 'evil' version of the main character appears or a main character turns evil. His character will be taken to such extremes that any sympathy or interest he would have gained evaporates and the audience just hates him for being a dick. Japan doesn't seem to understand underplay or subtle writing, because only with clever writing can a villain gain any sort of respect or appreciation.

The YGO villains are a classic example. All of them have a simple motive that is repeated over and over again, and they then have one duel in which they themselves have almost no development (or just a basic reason as to why they are now evil), and are defeated, never to appear again. If Konami's writers observed any western fiction, the best villains are ones you meet early in the story, and either follow them as a 'good' character (ignorant of their dark side) or partake in the dramatic irony (of knowing they are a villain) while watching their hidden actions.

Only then, when they have had a large amount of development, been given a three-dimension backstory and a good, solid reason why they gave up on their original values do you actually sympathise with them, and feel guilt knowing they will eventually be defeated. Because the best villains are not antagonists; they are anti-heroes.

@Max: Well, i do get your point and all, that's where I was wondering about. So let's say Paradox came into this again(Reference only really) or some other evil person came into it and either possesed Yuma or got Yuma to change his mind and Yuma became evil, what do you suppose happen then? Would the Astral Die? Also, let's just say Yuma actually has a real Reason to be evil, (He stinks at dueling)

I wonder if he would suddenly get better @ Dueling when evil as it seemed Aki got better dueling when changed to good from Yusei.....

All just b/c I'm thinking of stuff....

-----

Also, have you watched the movie Cowboys & Aliens. I actually liked it even though I'm losing my edge b/c it startled me twice while I was in the movie theatre....

@Anyone that wants to know: Well, i would have been working on my fan-fic, but I really don't know much about military jargon and bases and all that, so I'd have to wait and ask people that do know...and not just the symbols, and names, I prefer knowing how they speak and stuff through the com, so I cn make it more realistic that way.....

It's actually already happened. Both Astral and Yuma were possessed by "Number 96: Black Mist"; which changed Yuma's Deck slightly to focus on summoning itself more quickly, while turning Astral black and replacing his personality with its own. Those who are evil in anime usually fight with far more disregard for their own surroundings and health (ie spectators and LP), focussing solely on defeating their opponent. As in, if their monster needs to be destroyed (and take damage from it) to fulfill their effect, they'll do it.

I'm going to see it tonight, so no spoilers please!

@Max: Well, I need to find an online anime place to watch, lexadin gave me link that worked ast time, but apparently gogo anime won't work for me now as the link I found in club espeon.... :(

Well, I won't spoil it, I just hope you actually like it, b/c a lot of anime shows you seem to watch puts you off into a tangent b/c they are horrendous on actual writing and stuff.....Well, that's what I get when I read your anime spoils, nothing but hate on them....oh well......No offense or anything, its just seems that way....And no, I'm not spoiling the movie by saying this, b/c I'm just going to tell you, watch and enjoy it....

Tip of trade: 10 min. in the show, pick a person you think you are mostly related to, and then watch it.....I do it with everyshow I watch so then I think I'm in the actual movie.....

@Lex: What was that link you gave to me before to watch them, i can't donwload, only watch online....

Target 1 face-up monster. The Level of the targeted monster is halved until your End Phase. If its an odd Level, flip a coin and call it. If you call it right, you get to chose the half. If you call it wrong, your opponent gets to chose the half.

Level version of "Shrink". Wording doesn't look right at all.

It was horrendous wasn't it?! Enjoyable and some silly fun, but absolutely terrible!

Was the link Animecrazy.net?

I'm a cynical person, so naturally I like pointing out the worst bits of something and lambasting them. But it doesn't mean I don't enjoy them. Some of the 5Ds duels were slightly interesting, but a majority were not very well done, and of course you had the certainty that Yusei was going to win. (I think Konami tried to correct this ZeXal, but overdid it, and left us with a moron) I also like intelligent characters; and those who have distinct personalities. That's why I really enjoyed the first two arcs of 5Ds. Here you had a roster of characters, almost all with deep-rooted problems drawn together by a common destiny that they never really understood. And then in Season 2, all of that was erased: Jack became a dick, Yusei a peace activist, Crow a non-character, and Aki a 'benchwarmer'... (The best character of the whole series, ruined by moving writers to the movie project...itself a terrible creation)

I will admit; a majority of what I watch I like to pick apart because, aside from fantasy, I find it hard to completely suspend my disbelief at certain things. I also enjoy watching a premise or plot slowly disintegrate as I analyse it. Like the new "Apollo 18" movie, that is a conspiracy theory-type movie that claims that Apollo 18 did launch (in reality it was cancelled), and was lost on the Moon to an unseen force. And hence we stopped going to the Moon. It claims the whole thing was then covered up by the US government. There's just one problem: The massive rocket. NASA would have launched the massive rocket to get Apollo 18 into the sky. And NASA is not known for keeping such events under wraps.

In fact, rocket launches are one of the most-watched broadcasts in history, some of the Apollo, Skylab and Shuttle missions reaching almost half the global population. So, when the crew of that mission goes missing, and the orbiter fails to return; how does the US government stop three billion people from asking akward questions? (In case you're following, the premise has collapsed, and the plot is in a similar poor state) And even if the US managed to somehow wrap up the launch, the Soviets will have seen it. Rocket launches generally create a large amount of sound, smoke and heat, all tell-tale signs of a missile launch, and the Soviets would have been watching the American skies and launches. So when it failed to return, no matter how much the government tried to silence people, the Soviets would be celebrating like crazy. It could never be forgotten.

It's the same with all conspiracy theories: We are watching each other too much to hide anything, and people are very bad at keeping secrets. Nothing can stay hidden forever.

Target 1 face-up monster: Halve that target's Level, until the End Phase. (Rounded down)
