Next, I overlay the pair of 'Worm Zeros' to Exceed Summon the Rank 10 'Worm Genesis'! 'Worm Genesis'' effect detaches an Exceed Material to flip a monster I control into Attack Position. Reveal yourself 'Worm Victory'! 'Victory' then destroys all non-'Worm' monsters on the field! Direct attack!"

Lol, that would totaly ruin the story of the "Worms" though. Seeing as "Zero" is the ultimate weapon of the "Worms" an exceed that uses 2 "Zero's" would be silly.

 

A more logical Exceed would be a lvl 4/8 Exceed that can return Banished cards to do something. Maybe called 'Worm Ω". Also not breaking the Alphabet rule.

Then it turned into a convaluted mess of "Heroes" and "Neo-Spacians" (anime) or different types of "Heroes" (manga)? Or Yusei, who started with a Warrior-based Synchro Deck, before never using the same cards twice towards the end?

 

What do you think is going to happen when they come to write about the things we as fans hold dear?

Seeking revenge, he designed his "Number" to lure Kaito in, before dueling without using his "Number", thus defeating the Hunter (I usually seem to portray this by having "Heraklinos" attack while activating "Shrink"; "Galaxy-Eyes" restrained by "Fiendish Chain"). It's later revealed that his true trump is not the "Number" but a far darker monster.

Background: Searching for Duelist Pack singles to complete my collection, I got to Yusei 1, specifically "Synchro Strike". Now, in the sponsored links, there was an ad saying 'Great Deals on Synchro Cards' or something similar. Since I had found YGOMint from a similar link, I thought I'd give it a go. Turns out it just led to a page with links to eBay and the like, that happened to have 'Synchro' in their title. But one item caught my eye.

 

It was a lot titled 'Jack Atlas Deck *Just Add Synchros!*'. So I thought I would check it out, see if there was anything going cheap. Looking through the Deck-list, I decided to dismantle it, exposing the ignorance of either the person who was selling it or those who would buy it...

 

(For Euros, increase the prices by about 1.1 times, and for dollars 1.6)

 

 

[spoiler=And this is what resulted]I don't know why, but this eBay lot that attempts to copy Jack Atlas' Deck (under the title ‘Jack Atlas Deck *Just Add Synchros!*’) is making me laugh (and shout) so much. I'll dismember it slowly.

There’s no “Dark Resonator”, “Sinister Sprocket”, “Piece Golems”, “Mad Archfiend”, “Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode”, “Trap Eater”, “Twin-Sword Marauder”, “Dark Tinker”, “Majestic Dragon”, “Strong Wind Dragon”, “Ogre of the Scarlet Sorrow”, “Battle Fader”, “Dark Bug”, “Dread Dragon”, “Trust Guardian”, “Power Giant”, “Power Breaker”, “Top Runner”, “Barrier Resonator” or “Force Resonator”.

 

That’s 22 separate omissions! This couldn’t be less like his Deck! Moving on…

Oh dear. Now, while “Cursed Armaments” and “Darkworld Shackles” are nice cards in their own right, they were not used by Jack in either his anime or manga incarnation. And “Blind Spot Strike” and “Double Cyclone” were again, Yusei’s cards. So what’s missing?

 

“Cost Down”, “De-Synchro”, “Double Summon”, “Megamorph”, “Mind Trust”, “Mystical Space Typhoon”, “Polymerization”, “Resonator Engine”, “Scarlet Security”, “Red Dragon Vase”, “Resonator Call” and “Resonant Destruction”. Twelve errors.

It’s better than the Spells, this time it actually has cards that he used(!) Except of course, “Star Siphon” and “Half Counter” (Aki), “Chain Whirlwind”, and “Limit Reverse” (Yusei), “Magical Arm Shield” (Joey!) and “Miniaturise” (unused in the anime). So that’s 4 of 11 (fail grade)… As for the omissions…

 

“Prideful Roar”, “Revival Gift”, “Lineage of Destruction”, “Half or Nothing”, “Nightmare Archfiends”, “Assault Mode Activate”, “Interdimensional Matter Transporter”, “Crimson Fire”, “Tuner Capture”, “Fiendish Chain”, “Changing Destiny”, “Synchro Deflector”, “Red Carpet” and “Shadow Spell”. Another fourteen left out.

 

 

And of course, with the title saying ‘Just Add Synchros!’ there is no Extra Deck, not even taking into account Jack has used the Fusion Monster “Multiple Piece Golem”. So how much is this completely inaccurate sack of crap with only one card above Rare? £14.99, with 80p shipping. £15.79! Using Greylight prices, the cards are only worth £13.39 (so that’s more than £1 you’re being ripped of) with £9.37 of that coming from the Gold Rare “Vice Dragon”.

 

You might now be asking how much it would cost to fix this complete shambles. Well…first I’ll take away any cards that don’t fit and imagine selling them to try and recoup some of the costs(!) Then, I’ll find the cheapest price for the missing cards and see what happens.

 

I’ll skip the calculations and give you the totals. To bring this Deck into what Jack actually uses, you’d have to spend; £20.93 on Main Deck Monsters, £7.45 on Spells and £10.59 on Traps. And since some of the cards, to get the lowest price, are from the U.S., shipping costs must be added on. £2.41 to be exact. However, you will regain £2.10 from the sale of the misplaced cards. Thereforce, a grand total of £39.28 just to make this Deck accurate! As in, a 'Jack Atlas' Deck!

 

Phew.

 

But that’s not all! As the title commands, you need to add the Synchros! So let’s do that as well! Thankfully Jack doesn’t use as wide a selection of Synchros as Yusei, so the list is relatively short. But still rather expensive.

 

“Red Dragon Archfiend” (£3.09), “Red Nova Dragon” (92p), “Multiple Piece Golem” (30p), “Chaos King Archfiend” (£2.16), “Majestic Red Dragon” (61p) and “Exploder Dragonwing” (£6.18) all add up. And since these are also imports, shipping (£1.03) is also counted. That’s £14.29 for Jack’s trumps.

 

So, to conclude, let’s add this all up to see how much this eBay lot would actually cost to make useable and accurate! (Not counting the Synchro staples that will cost more)

 

eBay Lot: £15.79 ; Corrections: £39.28 ; Extra Deck: £14.29

 

Grand Total: £69.36

 

Almost £70… And given the Extra Deck addition is about the same as the original Deck, I’d rather have the Synchros than the overpriced Commons…

 

P.S. This analysis was based on YuGiOh Mint’s freakishly low prices. If I were to use Greylight, where a single Ultra Rare “Red Dragon Archfiend” is worth £15.95 (ie more than the whole import Extra Deck), the cost would be almost five times higher.

You're telling me. I set up a duel in Traditional because I do not have a synchro deck and I like the old fasion YGO. Someone came along, dueled with Synchros. He had 60 cards in his deck and it was filled with traps. He negated most of my cards with them. And he only one because of Deck out.
