@ White: That effect makes no sense.

@ Lex: I fear I may have snapped trying to find esoteric perfection...(!) (Ritual Monsters that can't be Ritual Summoned!)

Effect: This card can only be placed on the field by the effect of "Insidious Eruption". This card is unaffected by the effects of your opponent's Trap Cards. Once per turn, you can select 1 Level 3 or lower "Occult" monster in your Graveyard that was used for a Ritual Summon, and place it on the field in face-up Attack Position.

Effect: Select 1 "Narakan" Ritual Monster in your Graveyard and Tribute monsters from your hand or side of the field whose total Levels equal or exceed the selected monster's Level. Then. place the selected monster on the field face-up.

@Max: Mhh, well the idea is certainly interesting, but I presume the only reason to make it non-Summonable is because of the Summon Trigger Cards? Then it could just as well have been a regulair Effect Monster.

I gues it's special, but nothing all that interesting imo. Even somewhat unessary tbh.

That is the main point yes, but I also wanted it to force your opponent to use their Spell counter cards. It's also to allow it to be much more powerful than other monsters of its Level, since it cannot be used except with "Insidious Eruption". And, being a Ritual Monster, it has a large amount of support.

I'm still considering how to use this along with the "Occult" monsters. I'll probably have to make a fourth sub-archetype that deals solely with Death Rituals, that themselves have odd effects.

True, but perhaps you could've incorperated somekind of 2nd effect in the Spell Card. Also, beside the Spell, it can be summoned without havin any monsters on the field/hand, which can be quite funny imo. Dunno why though.

Possibly.

I was just testing the theory at the moment with the bare minimum of effects. I just changed a normal Ritual Spell's effect to what I needed. I'll come up with more when I make the full archetype. I don't understand the last part.

Oh, combined with the "Djinn's" you don't even need a monster on the field/hand to Summon it.

We've got less people than we did in our heyday.

But the people here, are quite active to compensate that.

For the standard Death Synchros that's correct (main protagnist-level @sspull there); but for the "Narakans", the "Djinns" are useless since they are not Ritual Summoned, and so can't use the latter as a cost.

Huh, forgot about that. Well my bad then.

Like I said, the "Narakans" are an exception, since I want them to revolve around not Summoning and not activating.

Any other Death Ritual...your opponent can have no cards on the field or in their hand, then one draw later pull out a 3000 ATK beatstick.

Thanks :)

So, how things going around here ?

Welcome:

New things to know

Exceed and Synchro's as I think, not positive if Synchro's were around JBM's time on here, but anyhow.

Exceed's I don't really like, so I'll explain a Synchro unless you already know.....

-------

@Max: My goal is to make it so the card takes x number of cards on the field or in the deck that is the same type but is also equal to the ATK/DEF of the card being summoned.

For example:

2 Warrior Type Monsters on the field that both have 1000 ATK.

My Monster send them to the graveyard and is summoned.

An original member besides Max? *faints*

[spoiler=I showed this earlier with no help.]1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner D.D. monsters

This card can only be Synchro Summoned by banishing the above Synchro Material Monsters. When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can banish 1 D.D. monster from your Deck to have your opponent draw and reveal cards equal to the Level of the banished monster. If any of the cards drawn were Spell or Trap Cards, your opponent must discard to their Graveyard. If any of the cards drawn were Level 5 or higher monsters, return them to your opponent's Deck. They then shuffle their Deck. After this card's effect is resolved, you take damage equal to the number of cards in your opponent's hand x300. When this card leaves the field, you can Special Summon banished 1 D.D. monster (except this card) in face-up Defense Position.

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner D.D. monsters

When this card's Synchro Material Monsters are sent to the Graveyard, banish them instead. When this card is Synchro Summoned, select and banish 1 "D.D." monster in your Deck to have your opponent draw and reveal a number of cards equal to the Level of the banished monster. Your opponent discards any revealed Spell and Trap Cards, and returns any revealed Level 5 or higher monsters to their Deck. Then, take damage equal to the number of cards in your opponent's hand x 300. When this card leaves the field, you can Special Summon banished 1 non-Synchro "D.D." monster (except this card) in Defense Position.
