@Lexadin: I tried with my switch effect monsters, but I am trying to do a new idea that will work and fit in existing Archetypes already or make a new Archetype that will make nice cards, but I'm out of idea's for once, I know, weird, I thought about something dealing with building, but do not know what.

@Max: Hope your thing works out and thanks. So even if I made a card ad said that Ranks are now levels and remain that way, or why won't work, in RC, it's supposed to be realistic and there are levels already, and the rulebook states the card effect goes before the rules in the book, so I was just wondering.

@Anyone: I normally don't do this, but b/c my e-net is so slow, I was wondering if someone could find about 4 pyro warrior monsters. I'm making a Pyro type set. I haven't seen them in awhile and figured they need some sort of set, they have that baseball kid and etc. Yea, I know, there are those flamvell monsters, but I hate those cards so much....

I might base the set for on Spell/Trap card and go from there. I'm not sure yet. But I need a few Pyro Warrior monsters and I'd give credit to the owners and finders. If you don't want to, its fine, but I'll have to wait about a month to get fast internet.

Because Ranks not being Levels is not just a rule. It's also a mechanic. And they cannot be overwritten in YGO's current format. Like I said before, Synchro Monsters not being able to exist in the Main Deck is both a rule and mechanic, and so can't be changed.

@Max: Where does it say we can't over rule mechanics? Or is that just your opinion? You have changed mechanics of game play before; just can't remember what you did, as have I, but truthfully, I am just curious why we can't change game play mechanics, konami has by adding a new card to the game, and changing fusion deck to Extra Deck b/c of it. So if its written somewhere, please tell me....

@Anyone: Well, trying to find a picture and making a new card template, hopefully better quality then the ones I have....

I can't remember changing mechanics. I either invent new ones or expand current ones (like Dark Accel and Death Synchro Summoning). You can add new mechanics, but you can't change existing ones. And the changing of Fusion Deck to Extra Deck was simply a name change to accomodate Synchros.

@Max: I still count changing a name and adding something new to the deck changing the whole game, which I count as changing a mechanics of the game, b/c you now have to go back and re-write lores on the old cards to adjust for the name change. That is what I call mechanics of game play and if it is different to you, then I guess we have different opinions. It don't really matter, I decided to go somewhere else with this anyhow.

Fusion Deck -> Extra Deck was the addition of new mechanics to existing ones. Nothing in the Fusion Deck's mechanics were changed.

Changing existing cards is errating, which is just updating.

As for "Extreme Victory", the only cards of value I've managed to get hold of are "Safe Zone" (Super Rare) and "E-Hero Neos Knight" (Ultimate Rare). This is disappointing.

Okay, simple understanding.

I can change an engine to make it work more efficient by adding something to it if I was smart enough to do it, even if I had to tear it apart, I could always rebuild it, so what I am getting at, is WHY? You just keep saying you can't change the mechanic, but WHY NOT, what is binding us by changing the mechanics of the game by just changing the lore on the card. Is there a rule, if so, please show me. Do you believe in the word impossible, if you do, then I am no longer talking about it...I believe in improbable, not impossible, as the world throws the impossible at us everyday...

But here is what I should say, you can believe what you want to believe and I will believe what I want to believe and will be able to move on....

----------------------

Anyhow, I have a new HQ template and I need opinions, and I also need to learn how to make the effect box better, this is all made from scratch....

------------

But lets keep on a different subject...

Because the mechanics of a game are the building blocks. They are the foundations; how different parts of the game operate and interact. You can add to them, but you can't rip some out and replace them with other things without overhauling everything else.

In your engine example, changing the mechanics is similar to changing whether it runs on petrol or diesel, or increasing the power by super/turbocharging it, or by changing the number of cylinders: really big changes. If you change that, and nothing else, the engine will not work as well as it did before. You'd need to modify a host of other parts to bring performance back to what it was.

What is binding us by changing the mechanics of the game by just changing the lore on the card.

Changing the lore on the card is simply changing the names we give to the mechanics. For example, the renaming of Magic Cards to Spell Cards. It didn't change how Magic Cards operated in the game. They were just called something different from then on.

Is there a rule, if so, please show me.

I do not know if Konami has a printed rule, but it is the same situation with all card-based games. They follow the various mechanics that include that turns follow each other, and there are a series of automatic win conditions. They are a good example. You can add new automatic win conditions, but once they are set, they cannot be changed.

Do you believe in the word impossible, if you do, then I am no longer talking about it...I believe in improbable, not impossible, as the world throws the impossible at us everyday...

I believe that there are things that are currently impossible, given our understanding of maths. For example, perpetual motion is currently impossible due to our reliance on the Laws of Thermodynamics. If we ever understand the universe well enough to move above those, then unlimited energy might well be a possiblity. At the moment, the possible and impossible are reliant on our ability to manipulate the fundamentals of the cosmos.

In addition, I find paranormal activity impossible, since I do not give an credance to the idea of an afterlife, nor spiritualism. Alien incursions also border on impossible in my opinion, mainly because those who report such events are of questionable sanity; and Earth's complete lack of interest in the eyes of an alien race. Contact with aliens is also impossible in our lifetimes, since the ability to develop faster-than-light technology is most likely a millennium away.

Erm, I got nothing.

I've bought all the Commons and Rares I haven't got from Greylight, but since Extreme Victory decided to release every single brilliant card needed, everything is too expensive for me.

Also for some reason all my opps in WC11 have unbelievable draws. Seriously 2 "Chaos Sorcerers" AND a "DAD" in 3 turns?

If you're talking about those monster-heavy Decks that shouldn't work but always do, I have the same suspicions. They also always seem to have a "Battle Fader", "Swift Scarecrow" or "Wisel" in their hand when needed...

Hello guys, missed me?

I must pardon my absence, though I guess the reason why I haven't visited here is that I see little reason.

Don't get me wrong, you guys are wonderful, but I am getting mature.

I'm 18 years old, am dating a lovely girl, have a job, attend a choir and a leader course.

This place has been a haven for my interest and you guys have kept me wonderful company, though as more of my friends here left, so did my interest in this site decrease.

What is my purpose here, other than looking up on you? To add response-less threads and fan-fictions?

My time here is drawing to an end, it seems, so this is my unofficial farewell.

You will notice my visits will decrease until I am no longer visiting at all. I will try to finish the Memory Requiem Project, so that will be keeping me here for the time being.

Please keep in touch if you want, and I will perhaps be seeing you again. You can obtain my hotmail adress through PM.

Thanks for the memories and a wonderful time.

I hope you'll get them Max.

Anyway, how are things Max?

I hope so. I've bought them early this time round to avoid price rises, which are bound to kick in very soon.

Things are dull. I've got exams coming up, but can't bring myself to revise that much.

I know the feeling. Luckily I have a quite good short term memory, when it's about anything besides fitting peoples faces with thier names.

Also the weather here has been acting wierd lately. A long hot and dry period. Which is highly uncommon this time of year in my country.

@Lord Ursus: Well, hope all works out and be careful what you do with girls, you might be looked another way for awhile, It happened to me and etc.

@Max: Well, okay, so you think some things are impossible, as I am different. I understand, but I meant that I would change the engine completely, so I would state what the differences would be in yugioh, but I'm trying to figure out what the changes would be is what I was mainly getting at....Imagine trying to change it a little and stating it then posting the card, of course it would go in any other cards, but yugioh is getting boring....sadly....

I do not believe in that anything is impossible, b/c why else would we be here if impossible existed---No religious answer please....

Also, what is grey light? A good place to order yugioh cards?

Lucky you...

That's down to a very large high pressure system currently swirling over Ireland. Britains' weather has been completely the opposite of what it should be as well.

Also, how far in WC11 have you got?

Impossibility has nothing to do with our evolution. It was improbable that a comet/lightning strike would hit the ocean at the right time, but it happened. It was also highly probable that Earth would have obliterated any life before it became anything substantial. But it didn't. Impossibility at the moment at least is based on our understanding of thermal mechanics. If that ever improves, what was impossible may become possible; and new discoveries of impossible will arise.

Greylight Limited is a UK-based company that's good for buying bulks of Commons and Rares, since they have no shipping costs. But their Super Rares and up are expensive.

@Max: Ah, that explains it. The Dutch weather reports said something simulair, but not very specific.

If I'm not mistaken somewhere around the battle against Team Unicorn.

So you've done the Battle Royale section? That was a fun part...[/sarcasm]
