Pokémon Showdown - Nomination Thread

Yep. I'm holding my own contest here. I feel the title is a little boring, so if anyone has a better title feel free to share it. Anyways, this will be a 1on1 showdown comprising of 48 Pokemon. The Pokemon will be paired together randomly. All Pokemon will have all their stats maxed out and will have 8 moves instead of the regular 4. No items will be used. You can vote for your favorite or which one you think will win. It doesn't really matter. So, just nominate Pokemon using the application below. You can apply a maximum of 2 Pokemon. If we don't get 48 Pokemon in a week, I'll just randomly select Pokemon to fill in the remaining spots. So let's get this started.

If you are doing a 1 vs. 1 format with single elimination, the total entries needs to be a power of two. Two, four, eight, sixteen, thirty-two, sixty-four, et cetera. 50 won't work, because if you are doing single elimination, you'll have 25 after Round 1 and then will be stuck. I suggest that you do 64, since there are a lot more than 64 fully-evolved Pokemon.

 

Are the people who nominate the Pokemon allowed to pick moves, or no? Are Ubers allowed? How will you be deciding who wins in any given match-up?

 

I cannot post an app unless these questions are answered, as some directly pertain to the application. Also, I feel you are only doing this to get your thread stickied, although I may be wrong.

That's not the reason at all. I honestly don't care if it's stickied or not, but it being stickied would help to get more people participate. ^___^

That still won't work. If you are doing one versus one, single elimination, you'll go from 48 to 24 to 12 to 6 to 3, and then be stuck. Unless that's how you want it and have the finals be a three-way.

A 3 way is fine actually. A 3 way for the final would be more interesting imo.
