Lominax smiled. "Thankfully, I am willing to lend you the aid of one of my Seraphs."

The Lord of Castle Oblivion motioned, and one of the hooded women took her hood off to reveal a young girl around 17 with pink hair, blue eyes, and a ponytail on the left side of her head.

"This is Xersha, the Seraph of Kindness. Her elder sister Reclixa, the Seraph of Justice, is one of the hostages. She will be the relay between you three and myself."

The girl stepped forward and bowed, shaking Nero's hand. She came off as rather warm and happy, but her emotions did seem a bit forced, like she was holding something back.

"Pleased to meet you."

Lominax had vanished by this point, along with his remaining Seraphs.

Nero smiled and said,"Nice to meet you Xersha. I'm Nero Hatake...and just saying you happen to be a lot nicer than those other Seraphs." He put his deck back in his deck box and said,"Alright Xersha, where is the fortress and what is the best way for us to get there?" He did notice that it looked like she was hiding something, but he decided not to worry about it, not yet anyway.

Desna pulled a lollipop out of his jacket and replaced his old one with a fresh sucker as he shook the Nobody's hand.

"Desna Adats, former leader of a criminal organization called Team Rocket, time-traveling mercenary, duelist extraordinaire, and professional badass."

He then turned to the rest of the quartet.

"Now, would somebody tell me what the f**k is going on here?!? What are those creepy shadowy things with the antennae and yellow eyes? Why can these black-robed chicks turn into robots? What's with your dinky little cards carrying around giant keys like swords? I mean, I might not be one to talk with a flaming chainsaw-shooting gun, a 91-flavor ice cream cannon, or a long-range rabid weasel launcher, just to name a few, but that's a bit of a ridiculous choice of weaponry, if you ask me!"

Nero looked at Densa and said,"Hey, don't make fun of my Birth By Sleep deck. It used to be my brothers and he was a great duelist and it was because he used this deck." He shook his head and said,"Besides...from what I'm gathering from my previous duels...the Heartless are afraid of my monsters for some reason." He remembered the first duel he had against a Heartless with his Birth By Sleep deck. After he summoned his first monster, the Heartless seemed scared and was about to run off.

Desna sighed and reached into his coat, then pulled out the afore-mentioned weasel launcher. It looked like a large cannon that had a tube extending into the coat, which connected to a wire mesh cage just below the cannon full of wide-eyed, foaming-mouthed weasels.

"You all still haven't answered my question! WHAT THE F**K IS GOING ON AROUND HERE?!?!?"

"In short...the creatures that are running around here are called Heartless. They've come from some alternate dimension...I think, trying to take over." Nero said trying to sum it up the best he could. "There are a few duelist trying to duel the Heartless to have them destroyed...but it isn't turning out real good on our part. A few of my friends were taken out in duels with the Heartless." he said with a sigh. "Does that answer your question?"

Desna turned the weasel launcher to Xersha. "So, what are these 'Heartless'?"

Xersha didn't panic at all. "You won't fire that at me."

"You're pretty sure I won't."

"Positive."

Desna loaded the gun. "You sure now?"

"Yes."

Desna almost fired his gun, but spun around and launched the weasels at a group of Soldier Heartless instead, causing the poor creatures to panic and run away.

"Can you see the future?"

"No. I can read people's hearts, though, and I knew you wouldn't fire those weasels at me. I'm one of two Nobodies that can do this. The other is with my sister."

"So, what are these 'Heartless'?"

"The term 'Heartless' is actually a misnomer. Heartless are created from a heart being removed from a sentient being and corrupted by darkness, creating an emotionless, instinctive creature that only wants to remove hearts from others. The stronger the heart, the more powerful the Heartless. However, we do have an interesting weapon on our side."

"What?"

"You."

Nero quickly looked at Xersha and said,"You said Nobody right? Is that something like a Heartless??" He had heard her, Lominax, and those other Seraphs talk about them being 'Nobodies', but he didn't have any idea what they were. Since Xersha explained the whole 'what Heartless are' speech, he needed to know if these Nobodies were like Heartless.

"Nobodies are the exact opposite of Heartless. When a strong heart is removed from a body with a strong will, that body can reform into a new entity called a 'Nobody'. I am a Nobody, along with Lominax and the other Seraphs. Unlike Heartless, which resemble objects or animals, Nobodies always have a humanoid form, and they retain all of their intelligence and memories, unlike a Heartless. Plus, the stronger the Nobody, the more human thay appear. Lominax, the other Seraphs, and I appear almost completely human because of our power. The Berserker, that giant from before, is a bit lower in the hierarchy."

"There used to be an alliance of various human-looking Nobodies that tried to use the ultimate heart, Kingdom Hearts, for their own nefarious means, but they have long-since disappeared. As far as we know, Lominax is currently the most powerful Nobody in existence, and therefore the leader of all Nobodies."

"He doesn't seem that powerful." Desna commented.

"That's because his power is not one of combat. In fact, he has no fighting abilities at all. He isn't physically strong, but he is a tactical and strategic genius, and commands myself, my sister, and the others as his elite core of troops and his personal honor guard and bodyguards."

Nero nodded. Everything was starting to make sense now, the Heartless, the Nobodies, and even his deck. He took his 'Sora - The Chosen Keyblade Master' card from his deck and said,"I think I get it. My deck and the monsters that are in it were somehow based on warriors from the dimension that the Heartless came from." He put the card back in his deck box and said,"Alright, now that I've gotten everything explained...lets go get those Seraphs."

Desna then started to grin as he put away his weasel launcher and brought out a futuristic Duel Disk. "Not just yet. I want to see how strong you all are, and to do that, let's have a Battle Royale! I am willing to let Miss Xersha here go first, though if anyone else wants to suggest a turn order, I'm open."

"I'm fine with that." Xersha replied, generating a Nobody Duel Disk.

Charn stared blankly at the commotion, and thought to himself 'what the heck is going on?' Instinctively he clambered up the side of the roofs and summoned a Spirit Sphere. "Follow those people, and give me a constant sound bite. Make sure you stay away from them, understand?" The sphere bleeped, and went over to where the seraphs were. It had found a good hiding place, but only caught snippets of the conversation:

"...are running around here are called Heartless. They've come from some alternate dimension..."

"So, what are these 'Heartless'?"

"You said Nobody right? Is that something like..."

"...When a strong heart is removed from a body with a strong will, that body can reform into a new entity called a 'Nobody'. I am a Nobody, along with Lominax and the other Seraphs. Unlike Heartless, which resemble objects or animals, Nobodies always have a humanoid form..."

And on and on and on with this drivle. Charn sighed. "Return, drone." The drone came flighing back to him. It returned to a card. "I must find out on my own what will happen. And," he added gleefuly, "intervine when necessary."

With that, Charn dived down into the ally and skillfuly made his way, unseen, towards the peons

Nero activated his duel disk and put his deck into the slot in the duel disk. He drew five cards and said looking at Densa,"Alright fine...I'll duel you two for now. Even though I think I pretty know most of the cards in that Nobody Deck." He then looked at his deck and thought to himself, I can do this...I'll be able to win. All I have to do is have faith...and think before I make a move.
