Movie Contest - COMPLETED

Task: Make a Spell or Trap card depicting a scene from a famous movie. Have the effect tie in with what the scene did in the film. Will be graded on its effect, picture, grammer and creativity. Also, the picture doesn't have to be anime or anything, it can just be a screencap of the scene or something.

 

Rules: All YCM rules apply. You can post your card whenever, as long as it's before the deadline. Same as sending over points. Also, type the name of the movie you got your idea from below the card, an explanation, as well as the lore if the text is really tiny.

 

Entry Fee: 10 points

 

Prize: 3 reps, 50 points. (I may give reps to 2nd and 3rd place winners)

 

Judge: Me

 

Deadline: Wednesday, July 21. I will start judging them on that day, though I may end it early

 

I don't know how people will take this contest. Me personally can think of several, like Jaws attack, Deathstar destruction, Indiana Jones' rolling boulder, etc. If no one joins, I will lock, but for now, be creative!

I find those that are making an Avatar card to be completely stupid when it comes to movies. Avatar is a good movie and it is famous, but I just don't understand the decision when there are many other great movies to choose from, unless you're sucking up to the creator of the contest.

Here is my submission inspired by the unmasking of maximus in the film Gladiator:

 

 

LORE:Increase the ATK of a monster equipped with this card by 700. When this card is activated, select 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. If a monster equipped with this card destroys the selected monster by battle, inflict direct damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to half the ATK of destroyed monster. If the selected monster destroys a card equipped with this card by battle, inflict direct damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster.

 

 

The inspiration from the card came from his speech:

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

 

I derived my card's effect from when Maximus says "And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next." I tried to make a card to show his pure power and I hope that the element of "vengance, in this life or the next" is clear to see in my cards effect.

Oh, okay, but if you want to have your card considered for judging, you still have to pay the entry fee. And are you sure you don't want to add a pic? I mean, I'm sure you could find one picture on the Internet somewhere. You could even take a screencap of the scene if you have the movie and use that.
