Name Changing Policy/Rule

I support none. Pick a name' date=' then you should stock with it. Or at least something very similar, like me. I've had ~JG~ for a year or so, then I changed to JG. after winning DitR.

What if you have a change of heart and want something new? Sometimes a new usertitle doesn't cut it.

Then you could be like me and talk to one of your good mod friends and convince them. Hell, how do you think I got unbanned early?

I didn't know you were banned. Anyway, a yearly name change date can work. It's making Kitty's ideas into a single date the Mods can do. They might be stressed on that one day, but they won't have to deal with it until the next year.

For the record, he convinced me his ban was unjust on times when I wouldn't be irritable. So he not only respected me but proved a damn good point. I also extended it a little >_>" so yeah...

I've got a great idea: when you know you get one name change and then that's' date=' don't be an idiot and choose a bad name.

[/quote']

What if you choose a great name, but decide a few months later that it wasn't that good?

By that point, you've created an account with a name, decided that that name sucked, switched to a new name, and then decided that that name also sucked. You really shouldn't be turning your tastes around that often.

Really, the primary reason we allow even one name change - most forums don't support any at all - is so that people who registered with the expectation of using the card maker but not the forums can have a decent name on the forums.

Tough luck? Either that, or deal with it til the next opportunity to win a change comes along. I host contests with name changes as prizes rather frequently, but not many people join. In that case it's the member wanting a name change's fault for not joining the contest to try and win a change. I give out 5, FIVE, name changes with each contest. That's a lot of chances to change your thought-was-great-but-turned-out-to-be-crap name into something better.

Also, I agree with Crab.

I understand the rule and the reasons behind it. However, on one of the forums I'm in, they have a point system for names. The price is so high that only the rich can get it. Also Crab, a change in a title doesn't do much. What if you have changed in a way that makes your current username unneeded and you already used your 1 name change? What happens then?

You either deal with your name as it is or you wait for a non-card contest and enter that.

You have a point Azrael. Do you think this would be a great idea, I got it from Kitty's ideas? Every year, we could have a date where people can get name changes. If they miss it, they can't complain.

It's Browarod again, but thanks :P. It would be very stressful when that day rolled around, especially if one or more supers happened to be inactive that day. The idea has its pros and cons.

Yea, but you would only get it one day of the year, unless you offer it as a prize.

no matter how much people argue over it over the internet nothing is likely to change.honestly if your mind changes that often people would complain if they could change their name once a year.people will always complain about everything they don't like its human nature.

Alright everyone, listen up.

Think of your username as your real name. You are extremely lucky becuase you get to pick your username yourself. You don't get to pick your real name yourself, yet do you want to change that once a month, once a year? I don't think so. The concept is the same.

Kthnxbai, now this thread can be locked.

Even though i Support Option 3, because i know a lot of Members are going to get tired of their already Changed Usernames, i still think this whole thing is Stupid. I mean come on, like JG. said, your Username is like your Real Name, you got it, be happy with it. I mean come on you're lucky you even get one change of Username, you all should think wisely before making your Username when joining YCM. I mean i joined YCM and since i joined i have stuck by my Original Username, Light Master XX. And i still like it and i probably won't get tired of it for a long time. So be happy with your already thought of Username, be happy you have the Chance to change your Username once and Shut up. I mean Moderators were even so thoughtful to give you the Chance to win Usernames as Prizes in their Contests and yet you complain.

if you want to name change make a new account then put in your sig its your new account.

There is a no multiple account rule here.

War Torn for F*ck sakes... Once is enough you don't have to keep back talking the Mods they already said No... I don't hate you but seriously its not gonna happen.

This isn't my thread. I was just defending my view point on here.

I know that but no need to defend it when the Mods reject this idea.

I get the point. The idea that is in my head is a little different from Kitty's I'm sure you are aware of that.

Of course I do but still' date=' reasoning with the mods and to make them crave in to your Suggestion is like trying to chew Glue.

Yea, but Azrael seemed to like it.

Still 3 to 1 the Quantity wins, I know Azreal is a Super Mod but YCM Changes require the whole YCM staff not just Azreal. Besides Kitty, *Person who made the thread* has already gave the idea up because Icy, Marblezone,Crab Helmet, etc. has turned you down.
