Kitty
All of you are aware of this particular rule 1. Each member' date=' as of the posting of this message, is allowed 1 name change. That name change can be to anything you want, as long as it does not include special characters. This is to allow those members who joined just for the card maker, and thereby might have made a, quite frankly, horrible name, to be able to pretty much get a fresh start without having to get rid of their already-made cards. 2. Once that 1 name change is used up, that's it. Each member is not allowed to ask to have their name changed except in the case of special circumstances, such as a Super Mod having a name change be an award for a contest. Apart from such events, you're stuck with whatever you decided. That is all. This decision was agreed upon by[b'] all active Super Mods and Falling Pizza, and is not likely to be overturned. I come here and post this today, because that I do believe that this rule is quite stupid and doesn’t need to be quite this bad. I know that there is a very high probability of this thread being locked but trying never hurt. I have come 3 options about how the Name Changing Policy should be set up and few people I’ve told liked 1 of these three. But I know that they aren't perfect but they're just rough ideas
Let us have 2 free name changes during our duration here. Instead of 1 because let’s face it, you Supers aren’t going make contests to allow us win free name changes.
Let all YCM members be entitled to 3 name changes but each name change must be a year in advance. Meaning if you had your name changed, you must wait 1 year before asking for another. And there are enough Supers to split it up.
Members should be allowed to have as many name changes but have to pay an interval amount of *insert point amount here* and must wait one year before asking for another. Though I do believe that there was something like this but it didn't work out To Mods: Actually let people state there opinions please.

Eury
You get a name change if you win an award. You get a name change if you win a contest. (Yes, they do hold these. You just have to look.) kthxbainosupport
White Hollow
agree maybe we could have an extra name change in some sort of special days: B day, Christmas or so but makes 2, not 3. Still agree with 1 and
Guest JoshIcy
No. Most forums don't even allow this or are far more restrictive (one per year). You want to be treated like children or adults? If the latter, kindly hush up and deal with the name you chose. Hell, the only reason we allow 1 is because a majority of visitors to YCM join with the sole intention of just using the cardmaker and use a sloppy name; this is to compensate for that. Cin
^ That. And mods are fed up of members DEMANDING name changes, as if getting to change your name is a rite on here. It isn't should be seen as a privilege to be able to change your name.

I asked nicely, Yankee asked if I was sure, I said yes, and I recieved my wish. I would go with 1, 2, and 3.

MarbleZone
No support. 1 name change is sufficient and in line with what most other forums allow, even more perhaps; it's your forum identity and as such shouldn't be subjected to frequent change. That said, I think the instated rule should apply to everyone equally, staff included (especially staff, since they're authority figures who should be easily recognized), which is to say I don't agree with "temporary name changes due to excitement". There are user titles for that kind of triviality.
CinnamonStar
Well what kind of contests would you like to see? I tried something when people just had to submit songs in Music but the section is so inactive that I like it.xD

That way Staff would deal with it yearly and members would be satified. Also, we should have a specific date to do the yearly name change.

Guest War Torn
Crab, let me help Kitty. The 1 name change rule can be tiring for some people. Those who already received it and had a change of heart are stuck with what they received. With having a yearly name change on a specific date, we could have a name change yearly. Not everyone would get a name change because some people might not be on that day. Anyone who wanted a name change could use that day to get it done. Βyakuya
So um...Listening to your PMs, and came here. Option #1-Reasonable, and giving chances. Option #2-Giving more chances, and is fair, but only for the ones who are patient[ Option #3-Takes so much out of others it's not fair though infinite. I'll go with #2, but super mods have to know since when they joined and stuff which seems confusing and they won't know when they got the last name change and such, so option 1 is my go.
