I saw that alot of people were asking about OCG, and you and i know its not very easy to teach. I didnt see any threads about OCG tips in the stickied area so im gonna post what ive been sending to alot of people. Please help me if i've missed something.
I cant really tell you everything there is to know. Some of this stuff you gotta learn through practice, but heres alot of useful OCG facts.
deck is always capitalized "Deck"
"Level" is always capitalized
"Normal Summon", "Special Summon" and "Ritual Summon" are always capitalized
"Trap Card" and "Spell Card" are always capitalized (and make sure you dont put magic, because they dont say magic anymore)
"Battle Phase", "Damage Step", "Main Phase" and "Main Phase 2" are always capitalized
In yugioh cards, usually when theres a number (like draw 2 cards) its numerical, not text (like one two three)
When you make a fusion monster you need to put the fusion material monsters in quotations and put a plus in between them ex:
"Buster Blader" + "Dark Magician"
Then put effect under here.
When you make ritual cards you have to say that they can only be ritual summoned by their ritual card ex(Im using dark master - zorc):
"This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Contract with the Dark Master" - then you put whatever effect you want. Almost every ritual card is in that format. You just replace the ritual spell name with whatever one your using.
When you make the ritual spell card it will usually say:
"This card is used to Ritual Summon "Dark Master - Zorc". You must also Tribute monsters whos total Levels equal 8 or more from the field or your hand".
They usually say the same thing. All you gotta do is replace the stars and the monster name.
Anytime you make a counter, always put it in quotations and capitalize both words ex: "Gangsta Counter"
Same with tokens ex: "Guitar Token"
I got all this stuff from the cards. Thats where we get OCG, from the cards. If you think of an effect that you think might be on a real card go look at the real card and see how they word it. Once you get the hang of it all you'll be able to mix up the effects and start making some really awesome cards. I hope this helps. Know that i probably missed some things, but i hit on alot of topics that most people mess up on (even me haha).
Heres another tip about posting your cards. After you save your cards and you post them on a thread and you want to fix them, you can go back to the card maker, open up the card, fix whatever you need to, generate and save it, get the code, go to your thread, edit the first post, delete the card, and then repost it. Its an easy thing to do.
Well thats all i can think of right now. Hope this helps.
