General Assclown
As far as I know, the Moderators (Super Mods.) have changed the Name Change Policy (this was a while ago) so that you cannot get a name change. But here's my little theory/opinion. When the Mod.'s were chosen, they were obviously aware that one of their responsibilities/duties was to hand out name changes. So by them stopping name changes, doesn't that conflict with the duties they were given? Give your opinion please. Also Mods, DON'T LOCK THIS JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE THE TOPIC. This is a legit topic so therefore, it cannot just be locked.

-Griffin
There's no 'right' to have your name changed. Mods were flooded, they can choose to cut it off.And really, it's a random tag that appears next to your post on a forum about making up fantasies of how a children's card game could be played. It really doesn't matter.
General Assclown
And they change their names themselves >:l lol Meh' date=' calm down. Nothing you can do, really.[/quote'] I know but I'm just asking why they don't do their job (apart from the actual serious buisness) Mods giving out name changes isn't a duty it's a privilege. That's your opinion. There's no 'right' to have your name changed. Mods were flooded' date=' they can choose to cut it off.[/quote'] Or they can come up with a new system that gives users a chance to get their name changed. As for the last part of the quote, it's just your opinion.
Lyfe.
Actually, they stopped because YCM was being a douche bag and demanded rather than requested.
Cin
Mods cannot deal with so many name changes, it was seen more of a rite than a gift to be able to change it. I'm not a super mod, but I know they were flooded with requests. Members need to remember you don't NEED a name change, you would like one. The previous system obviously didn't filter enough name changes out. Supers have alot more to do than change names everytime people ask for one. Lyfe.
I only wish there was some way to do it still... I'd love a revert back to Lyfe. ;-; Oh well. Metallica. works.
Yondaime
Mods giving out name changes isn't a duty it's a privilege. That's your opinion. I lol'd hard. It's not an opinion. It's a fact. You think they want to go around changing names all day? They have more important things to do, like run the forum. They have more to do than you actually think. And then they still have their real life to deal with.
General Assclown
Name changes are gay. Lulz? Actually' date=' they stopped because YCM was being a douche bag and demanded rather than requested.[/quote'] Suppose that makes sense. I've been a moderator several times (other forums) and I know what you have to go through. And then they still have their real life to deal with. Yeah but if a Mod have real life problems, they'd give up the Mod. position because they're too busy.
Nyarlathotep
Being a new member and loving my name, I think that it doesnt matter. But for those who cant live with just one name, then maybe there should be a system. the user pays something, either reps or points or all their stats, then they get a new name. that way people STICK with one name and there isnt a flood of bored users who demand name changes. Kinda like XBox 360 and PS3. You pick a name, you stick with it or pay to change it. Just my opinion.
Madsen
Back to the old system.Just now, 10000 points instead of 1000, and 12000 posts instead of 1200.
Lyfe.
^ A little much, don't you think? I'd say a solid 5,000.
Guest
Name changes have always been a privilege, never a right or a "duty". The mod team decided as a group to reduce name changes because the general populace was requesting them in inappropriate ways (demanding rather than asking). The thing you seem to be missing is that they are not removed altogether, you can still receive them as prizes from certain forum events and some supers will still do them if you ask politely.
