Eury
Tyranitar activates Garchomp's Sand Veil. Garchomp is Uber. Garchomp haz EQ. Garchomp is A LOT faster. Garchomp destroys T-Tar.
Dark
I'd like to mention that a standard Choice Scarf Garchomp does 93.4% max to a standard Choice Band Tyranitar with Earthquake. Assuming no Stealth Rock damage, that is an absolute zero margin to OHKO. However, Tyranitar can't do all too much in return. Crunch, the strongest move Tyranitar has against Garchomp, only manages 64% - 75.7%. However, against a Tyraniboah or a MixTar, Earthquake still won't manage a KO, and Ice Beam can be used to easily OHKO Garchomp. Garchomp wins in most scenarios, however. infinitysqrd
Tyranitar's advantage is that it can learn Dragon claw and Ice beam weakness is that Ice and, Ground is x2 damage and Grass and Water does x3Garchomp's advantage is that it has higher speed do to Tyranitar's sand veildisadvantage Ice does x3 damageAdvatage goes to who ever goes first and has the higher defense and special defense
Dark
Tyranitar's advantage is that it can learn Dragon claw and Ice beam Garchomp can learn STAB' date=' se Earthquake.[/b']weakness is that Ice and, Ground is x2 damage and Grass and Water does x3Actually, pertinent to the scenario, Ground does x2 damage. But no, Ice is neutral, Grass and Water do 2x as well, and Fighting does 4x.Garchomp's advantage is that it has higher speed do to Tyranitar's sand veilNo, Sand Veil makes it so moves that were once 100% accurate become 80% accurate, or something. But yeah, Garchomp is faster.disadvantage Ice does x3 damageIce does x4 damage, actually.Advatage goes to who ever goes first and has the higher defense and special defenseNot really; it depends on what move they use. Garchomp will always go first, and if Tyranitar doesn't pack Ice Beam (or Outrage), Garchomp wins.
Eury
Let's change the movesets for a sec. Scarf Tar vs SD Garchomp NOW WHO WINS :
Dark
Let's change the movesets for a sec. Scarf Tar vs SD Garchomp NOW WHO WINS :0 Even worse matchup. ScarfTar does 39.4% - 46.4% to SD Garchomp with Crunch. Although Tyranitar now outspeeds, it can only manage a 3HKO not factoring in Stealth Rock or LO Recoil. Garchomp can set up an SD, live two Crunches, and attack with Earthquake. Earthquake, without a Life Orb, does 176% - 207.6% to your standard Scarf Tyranitar. If you consider Life Orb recoil, then Crunch does manage a 2HKO, but then you'd also have to factor in Sand Veil causing either Crunch to miss. Also, most SD Garchomp run Haban or Yache because of the 102 Base Speed and it can take a se hit after the damage loss.
