Marly
OOC thread - http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-213710.html [spoiler=Plot + Background information] The world has just entered in it's glory ages, (now titled the Age of Abundance) as medicine, art, technology, and science progress rapidly. Pokemon and humans live in a symbiotic relationship far better than those of earlier times, and due to the advances in technology, the police task force and the elite Pokemon trainers who fight against evil have more or less eradicated all crime from this world. The citizens lived in peace for most of the Age of Abundance. However, during the peak of the Age of Abundance, a rip opened up far above the sky, this day is now known as the Day of Lament by most pokemon trainers. A large, six-eyed beast emerged from the rip, and with a roar, the world's oxygen levels plummeted to all time lows. All technology was rendered useless, and the sky turned from it's peaceful blue into a dark, dark greenish-black color. The casualities from loss of oxygen alone surpassed fifteen thousand. Combined with the blasts from the beasts and the deaths due to technology shutting down mid-flight, or in a hospital, etc, exceeded a hundred thousand. This was in the first few weeks of the beast's arrival. In response to the monster's appearance, the elite four decided to take action. Televisions all across the regions showed the battle, the four elites rode on back of their flying pokemon and reached the beast. It glared at them, as the elites taunted it, asking how such an ugly creature could wreck so much of the world. Two of the elites were quickly disposed of by the beast, and one of the remaining to fled the scene in fear. The one still battling called his peer a coward, but quickly turned his attention back to the monstrosity. It glared at him as his Flygon and the unknown monster clashed 'fists' and beams. Headfirst and with the visage of a hero, The last elite fought valiantly against the beast, and, pushing himself to the limits of his abilites, destroyed the beast at the cost of his life. This event, the Day of Lament, ended the Age of Abundance. Two years after the Day of Lament, and the oxygen levels have yet to return to normal, and instead are slowly decreasing. Technology has still been rendered useless. The sky has remained the same depressing green color since the battle, and recently, another rip has opened up in the sky. It's growing to an enormous size, engulfing almost half of the Johto region. And it's steadily increasing. Because of the increasing causality rates, a few adventurers were forced, or decided upon their own free will, or by some other odd occurrence, went into the rip, to try and set things right. The plane that the rip led to is a reddish realm with a sort of ooze covering the walls, a putrid stench filling the air, and an ominous emptiness... What awaits our adventurers farther into this plane's darkness? [spoiler=Rules]-Obviously, the Advanced Clause rules apply here. Those being: Minimum Post Length – Each standard IC post should have the equivalent of at least 4 lines of text. However, a good post should have around one to two paragraphs with proper English spelling and grammar, and should have enough material for other RPers to expand and elaborate on in their own posts. (As a rule of thumb, 4 unbroken lines of text on YCM at standard size and font is roughly 100 words.) Dialogue – Dialogue should be done in one of two ways; in quotation marks or in speech lines. Script format is prohibited, because it doesn’t allow as much description and is dull overall. Expies – Copy-paste characters from either separate RPs or from already existing franchises, with only minor detail changes, are frowned upon. This doesn’t allow true “evolution” as a unique character. -You are only allowed one revision of your application. This is to avoid people who aren't really trying/don't care for the story to be harder to get in. It's also so I don't have to tell you your character is bad twice and possibly hurt someone's feelings. -All of YCM's other rules apply, obviously. -If, for any reason, you are deemed God-Moding, Power Playing, Meta-gaming, or any variation of the three, you will be kicked from this roleplay on first offence. Begin posting whenever you want.
Mighty Platypus
Alastor's Gengar, Jamie, floated around his head in an orbit. The rip was up above in the sky like it had been for the past few days. Alastor really didn't remember the Day of Lament; he had been sitting around with Jamie and his then-Cubone Jones when the lights turned off and the TV started telling some story about a monster attacking. Two years later, things hadn't recovered, but Alastor liked it better this way. More ghosts this way. But he was getting bored and heard of a group going into the rip, so he decided to join them. Naimo
"Are you OK?" squawked Karoline's Chatot. Whilst he was perched, as usual, on the bird stand, Karoline was busy tending to her Ryhorn. Having just fought a battle, she found herself concerned for him, perhaps because she was determined to see him evolve. However, when her Chatot spoke, she turned around to look at him. "I'm fine," she told him. By now, Chatot had a better grasp of the human language, thanks to Karoline taking the time to actually try and educate him. "I'm just looking after Ryhorn, that's all." She turned back to the bigger Pokemon, although there was not much left for her to do, in truth.
Little Puddle
Rubbing her hands, Kirra gazed blankly at the sink for a few moments, pale eyes gone, unseeing what was in front of her at that very moment. She’d just gone out to bring water into the house, though at the moment she was having trouble recollecting why. In a flash, she remembered, and reached down into the now full sink to grab a soaked cloth. Wiping the counter mechanically, the girl continued with her cleaning regime. It was a near daily thing, not that the house was getting any dirtier. But sometimes, just sometimes, she thought she heard her mother complimenting the tidiness of the rooms. That was enough. Charon watched her through half-lidded eyes from the corner of the kitchen where he had curled up, supposedly for a nap. He disliked being away from her, especially as of late. The Typhlosion lifted his head at an approaching sound, glaring out the open kitchen door to the yard. A few moments passed, and a blue blur darted past, leaping into the kitchen on the clean tiles. Kirra looked up to acknowledge Thetis’s entrance, and even paused in her rigid cleaning to bend at the knee and reach out to the small Pokémon. The Vaporeon trotted over, nuzzling the girl’s fingers before quickly pulling away and running off into the shadowed recesses of the house, surely to find wherever Eurydice had slithered off to. It seemed the interaction had interrupted Kirra enough to make her take a break from her routine, and she set the cloth down to wipe her hands on her dress, though she picked at the dark leggings underneath, a fidgety habit of hers. Looking up to her Typhlosion, the young woman smiled and brushed a lock of hair away from her face, only for it to fall back into place. “Charon, come outside,” she offered, and the mighty creature nodded in understanding, bringing himself up off the floor to follow his mistress into the dismal outdoors. Kirra stood waiting for him, and her hand reached out to pet his face, her fingertips barely ghosting over the scar crossing his left eye. Kirra looked up then to the roof, seeing the hunched form of her Pidgeot lazing about quietly. Phaedra had not taken to the changes of the Day of Lament well, least of all the sickening green sky, but like everyone else, she’d grown accustomed to it. With a low whistle, the bird Pokémon perked up and peered down at the trainer and Charon. “Let’s train,” Kirra called gently, extending her arm like she had when Phaedra was a mere Pidgey learning to fly. Phaedra could never resist her mistress’s call, and spread her wings.
Mighty Platypus
Alastor walked blankly off into the distance, not noticing the massive oak tree until it was too late, smashing his nose right into it. Afterwards, however, Alastor just kept walking in a different direction, completely uncaring of what happened mere seconds ago. Jamie was still floating over his head, and, being intangible, really didn't notice the walk through the tree either, as it just went right through it. Eventually, however, Alastor did something he would notice: walk straight into a person.
evilfusion
Raven was enjoying her usual afternoon walk, her long black hair rustling in the breeze, coiling around her neck until she restraightened it. down to her shoulders. Her calm brown eyes followed the clouds overhead. Curled around her shoulders was Vesu, the Flareon napping lightly as they walked. Or, as Raven walked and she rode. This rest was quickly interrupted when Raven, distracted by the clouds, found herself knocked off balance by someone colliding with her. Vesu awoke with an indignant hiss, snarling at the offender. "Easy, girl," Raven warned, stroking the Flareon's head and standing up, brushing her jeans off. She straightened her silver jacket and blinked at the guy who had bumped into her. "I'm okay, uh...are you?"
Mighty Platypus
Alastor scratched his head. "Why wouldn't I be?" Alastor asked, completely forgetting the fact that he had just bumped into some random person he had never met. "Anyway, I'm Alastor, and this is Jamie," he continued, gesturing to the confused Gengar above him. "Say hi, Jamie." The Gengar moved its hands in weird ways. Alastor nodded and turned back to the girl. "He says...oh wait, that was directed at me, and I probably shouldn't repeat it."
