War of Darkness

[Shadow Zero]

There have been many years of relative peace amongst the universes. Recently there have been some outbreaks in violence that are not quite the norm. isolated groups of people start acting erratic, violent even. The cause is not known, but while most of the occurences are random, there is a pattern that nobody sees, the pattern being that there are specific people being killed along the way. Meanwhile, in one of the dimensions, on the planet Aether, Lumina, a Sentinel of Aether, sees some of the same things happening off of his own home world, which is strangely unaffected. He decides to activate the interdimensional portals leftover from the Aether Crisis, and has them set to bring anyone who can fight. at the same time, there are many people dying after having become violent, but some of them simply become stronger and vanish in a sudden burst of darkness. Nobody knows what is going on, but everyone will soon find out.

 

Rules:

2: No god modding! I shouldn't even have to say this.

3: No auto connecting or auto hitting. This is another form of God modding, and is frowned upon by many.

My Opening Post

Shu Chinen was sitting in a tree, his face towards the sky. He silently wondered why the current events that everyone was living through were happening. All he knew was that there was some form of darkness infecting people and turning them into mindless killing machines. Frustrated, Shu Chinen raked a hand through his snowy white hair and silently asked himself why this had happened, and why he seemed to have been given the power to banish the darkness in the form of something that looked like a Keyblade from the Kingdom Hearts video game. In the end, he gave up and jumped out of the tree. He silently started walking home when there was an unearthly screech behind him. Knowing exactly what it meant, as it had happened many times before with him, he jumped to the side and turned to face the creature that had attempted to lunge at him. As the creature turned, Shu Chinen summoned his Keyblade that he had called Shadow Slayer and said "You poor pitiful creature. You as well, are mad into a soldier of darkness then."

The creature, which was humanoid in form and a complete black surrounded by an evil purple energy, uttered another screech, the tendrils on its head that replaced what was once human hair writhing. Uttering yet another screech, the creature charged, opening its mouth as wide as the pieces of skin stretched over its mouth would allow, its eye the color of solid purple blazing in unspeakable hatred. Moving swiftly, Shu Chinen raised Shadow Slayer over his head, as he crouched so that the creatures attempted blow with both its hands missed and brought Shadow Slayer down, cleaving the creature into. The creature screamed its last scream of death and within seconds the black skin and the purple aura had vanished, leaving a young female only a little younger the Shu Chinen to gasp in relief before fainting and falling to the ground, the young woman herself being unharmed by the Keyblades strike.

Shu Chinen caught the young woman and picked her up, carrying her over to the tree that he was sitting in. Placing her on the ground with her back leaning against the tree, Shu Chinen gently patted her face until she started to wake up. He changed to his Shadow Form and warped away to the top of another tree, this one a pine. He waited to see if the young woman was all right and for her to start moving before warping once more, this time to a secluded area of trees, the woods that resided on the far side of the nearby park. Those attacks are becoming more and more frequent nowadays. I'll have to tread carefully from now on.

Corinne had been going from town to town for awhile now. Ever since her best friend had suddenly attacked her she wanted to know what was going on. She figured someone somewhere had to know something. And though she'd been to many towns and been attacked by many people taken by the darkness for seemingly no reason, she still hadn't found much out. It didn't get her down though. It wasn't like her to be discouraged over things. Regardless of how slow her progress was she still felt she was making progress and that was what she was cared about.

"You think it would be a bit easier to find some simple info. This is a worldwide problem, there has to be someone who knows what to do about it. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who cares about this situation. No one else seems all that bothered by it. Still, I gotta do what I can." Corinne thought as she entered another new town.

 

"Let's see what I can find out here!" She called out. It would have been embarrassing had anyone been at the edge of town but that wasn't the case. Corinne ran excitedly into the town and began asking anyone she saw about the situation at hand. And like most places she wasn't getting much from anyone. Still, she had a whole town to ask and all the time to do it in so she wasn't concerned or rushed.

Shu Chinen was about halfway home when there was a ring of darkness appearing around him, growing both outwards and inwards. He felt that he was deliberately being targeted for a massive assault this time, and was disappointed to find out that he was right. As the Soldiers of Daarkness climbed out of the mass of darkness that completely surrounded him, he noted that these were actually warriors bred for war, with swords and shields, as well as futuristic guns in hand. As the creatures finished climbing up and out of the darkness, he saw someone standing outside of the circle of enemies. Shu Chinen readied himself for battle and took a defensive stance with his Shadow Slayer in hand. In that moment, the person on the other side of the circle of enemies laughed evilly and motioned for them to attack before disappearing. Shu Chinen was about to begin the battle for his very life, and he wasn't sure that he could win it.

And like all of her other searches before this, Corinne's current search wasn't getting her very far. No one had much to say on the matter. Some had claimed to see some people claimed by darkness but no one seemed all that worried about it. To be sure it wasn't helping her search at all. She soon approached a local inn to perhaps stay the night. She hadn't made up her mind yet.

"Can't anyone tell me anything?" she said softly with a bit of a sigh. And right as she reached to open the inn's door the oddest thing happened. Darkness surged upward from the ground and took and oddly human shape. Corinne had seen it many times before in the past. The people claimed by darkness had attacked her many times in her travels to the various towns. She had her hand ready on her sword however before she could really react many more of the dark beings appeared around her. There were far more than had ever appeared in the past. Corinne backed up into the center of the group.

"Great. This won't end well." Corinne said as she drew her sword.

Just as Shu and Corrine were both about to be attacked by the separate groups of creatures, a flash of light enveloped them both and caused them to vanish from where they were. In a single instant, they were both in an area that seemed like a dark tunnel with raging purple energies. They each only had a few small moments to look at this before they were de-atomized and dragged from their separate dimensions completely. After several long moments, they were re-atomized and appeared in the Great temple on the planet Aether. Shu took in his surroundings, awed by its beauty and majesty. Suddenly, he noticed that there was someone else was there. He turned to face her with his Keyblade at the ready and practically barks "Who are you? Where is this? Why are we here? Speak quickly!"

Before her fight could go anywhere Corinne saw her body disintegrate it looked like and the next thing she knew, she was in a strange place and some person was rudely addressing her. The trip had been disorienting enough though Corinne managed to stand. She didn't know where she was, or what had happened. Then again she had hardly understood why she was being attacked a few moments ago. It seemed a lot of things she didn't understand tended to happen. She still had her sword out so she put it away. Then she got to the man's questions.

"In order: I'm Corinne Aubel, I have no idea, and again I'm clueless. Now would you care to introduce yourself or should we just start yelling at each other for awhile?" Corinne said smiling. She was trying to be nice and positive. Though it may not have come off that way.

[Shadow Zero]

Shu's eye twitched at what he thought was a sarcastic response. He had just come out of a very stressful situation after all. Still, he saw that Corrine, if that was who she really was, was trying to keep a friendly attitude, so he banished Shadow Slayer to the interdimensional pocket that he kept it in and said "My name is Shu Chinen. I apologize for the rather rude attitude from before, I had just come out of a very stressful situation where I was surrounded by a bunch of...well, Darklings, for lack of a better word. Very warlike ones at that." Shu wasn't sure exactly what he was supposed to do now. he was quite out of his depth. He decided to change to his Humanoid form for the moment, hoping that he wouldn't have to fight.

 

Meanwhile, Samantha Usindro, or Samus, as she was called, had just gotten a message. The entire galaxy was being assaulted by some type of energy that could not be stopped and seemed to have the ability to possess people. Samus knew of only one creature that could do that, from the logs that she had read from the first hunters missions. It was a parasite called X, an organism that was supposed to be extinct. However, Galactic headquarters had dismissed that as it was so widespread, and was far different from the incident on B.S.L. research station. Not one to question orders when a bounty had been set, Samus was currently departing in her ship. Her mission was to go to the planet Aether, the only planet in the entire galaxy to be unaffected by the darkness. She was to determine if that was its source. If it was, she was to find the source on the planet and destroy it, and kill anyone and anything that got in her way.

"Nice to meet you Shu!" Corinne said happily. "No need to apologize. I can understand the feeling. Those stupid things won't ever leave me alone. Everywhere I go I'm just looking for information but those creatures keep attacking me. Like just a few minutes ago before I ended up here. A huge group had just surrounded me." Corinne said. Then she saw Shu change forms.

"Wow! That's so cool! You're a shapeshifter?!" she said. It was only after he changed that Corinne realized Shu had previously had some animal-like appearance. She didn't seem particularly worried about the situation and in truth she wasn't. The fact that she was now with someone who knew about the dark creatures attacking meant she would probably be finding out something soon enough. Whatever that was she wasn't sure.

Marina Abendroth had just finished fighting off the most recent group of mercenaries after her. A lot had gone on so early in the day. She'd found an old house in a small town and was currently rested up there. The house at least had running water so she helped herself to that. She then finished off what little she had for a meal.

"If it's not one thing it's another. How many different things are chasing after me? Two? Three? I lost track awhile ago. Maybe I should just let one take me and get it over with. But that wouldn't be any fun. Speaking of which..." Marina thought. As she looked up she took notice of two things that had been following her for a bit. There was some humanoid creature that looked like it was a moving shadow or something. Regardless it looked like moving darkness. And at the same time there was a strange light with no real shape. Both seemed to call to her. Whenever she was by herself they called out to her. Both wanted her and she had continually refused both. Neither force had ever done more than ask and went away when she told them. She looked at the two with an annoyed look on her face.

"What? Haven't I told you guys enough yet? I'm not interested in either of you! Now leave me alone!" she said. With that the two departed but were sure to return the next day.

"Maybe I should go with one, just to get this over with." Marina thought.

[Shadow Zero]

Shu scratched his white haired head and said "You as well huh? What did the creatures look like? Were they the normal ones, or was there anything different about them." Shu was interested in what type of Darklings had been summoned to get rid of Corrine. If they were not the same as the ones that he was surrounded by, then he would know that someone was specifically targeting him, and not just to get him out of the way.

Samus was beginning her departure when she was contacted by one of the Galactic Generals. "Samus, we have a new type of technology that has just been finished being tested. It will allow you to reach Aether in a matter of moments. follow the coordinates that I am sending you, and take the 'hyper ring' to Aether. Any objections Lady?" Samus shook her head once and cut the connection, thinking back on another of the first hunters mission logs, where she spoke of a blunt, computerized CO that had been assigned to her, and how she had named it Adam in memory of a fallen comrade who acted much the same way as Andrew did. The one exception was that Adam was not a General, not that that mattered to Samus. She received the coordinates that Andrew had sent her and proceeded to the Hyper Ring. It was already set up and ready to go. All she had to do was go into it and she would be directly above planet Aether. Taking a deep breath, she exhaled slowly before entering the Hyper Ring. It was time to begin her mission, and as she entered into the Hyper Ring, she momentarily wondered if the first hunter felt the same way as she did before each of her missions, anxious and fearful, but excited at the same time.

Meanwhile, back on the Planet Aether, Lumina, the current Sentinel of Aether, began walking towards the two new comers. The first, he hoped, of many who would help to fight the war against the darkness.

[Andx]

"Yeah, they're everywhere. As for what they looked like, I'm not sure I can say. I wasn't in that spot long before coming here. I was about to walk into a building when one appeared right in front of me. It looked normal enough. Though before I knew it, I was surrounded. I guess something might have been odd about some of them but I didn't get to see. So as far as I could tell nothing was off about the creatures themselves. The weird part was the sheer number of them. Normally three to five come after, this time it seemed like dozens had come." Corinne.

 

As Corinne gave her answer something seemed odd. It didn't take long for her to notice that something was coming towards them. It seemed human enough. At least, Corinne could safely rule out that it was an object.

"Shu, seems like we have some company." Corinne said to get Shu's attention on the new comer as well.

"Hello! Are you the one who brought us here? Or are you just as confused as we are?!" Corinne called out to Lumina.

"So what now? Just sit here and rest up? Pretty dull. But then... when do I ever do more than that? I don't do a whole lot. Mostly just keep moving and survive. And while I suppose I'm not exactly content, I don't see why I'd want to change things up with one of those weird visitors. Why does that thought keep entering my mind then? Am I tired of running around? Do I just want to go with something and have some consistency in my life? That couldn't be the case. That's not like me at all." Marina thought. She got up and left the house, figuring it would be better to stay in motion.

"These guys keep coming around to ask me to come with them enough, I may just break down eventually. Let's see if I can't do something about that." Marina thought as she continued on her way. As to what her way was, even she wasn't that sure.

[Shadow Zero]

Lumina stopped and swept an arm in front of himself as he inclined his head forward in a respectful bow. "I am Lumina, the Sentinel of Aether. I have brought you here seeking your assistance. As I am sure you have already noticed, darkness is spreading amongst the various universes. It is the same here as well. I believe that it is here in this universe where our enemy may be based, although I cannot be sure. Either way, I have had word that n attack is being planned by our enemies. I apologize for the rather abrupt and rude methods that were used to bring you here. However, we cannot face this darkness on our own, and beseech you for your help. Will you join with us in the fight against the Darkness?" Lumina silently awaited an answer from his guests, desperately hoping that they would agree. The army of the Luminoth were already beginning to dwindle, and Galactic HQ was not being entirely cooperative. Shu stayed silent for a few moments, weighing his options and thinking on what his next course of action would be. On the one hand, he wanted to stop the darkness from invading his home. On the other, it's not like he wanted to start, or even join an already existing war just to stop it. If, I'm honest with myself, I can't just let this lie, and I am grateful that I was nabbed just in time to be kept out of a very potentially dangerous and even life threatening situation. Even so, is this the right thing to do?"

At the same time, the darkness that had been trying to persuade Marina had grown tired of trying to appeal to her darker nature and decided to forcibly take her over, just like how most, if not all of the Darklings had come to be. If she was lucky, she would become a high ranking general of darkness, and not some mere darkling. The darkness appeared around her and rose up to engulf her when suddenly, a small white orb of light appeared to hold it back and opened a pathway for her to escape through. "Go, quickly!" Was all that it said as it held the darkness back with all of its strength.

Samus only had to wait for a few moments in order to arrive at the planet Aether. She had to admit it, those federation scientists knew what they were doing on this one. She just hoped that the Space Pirates didn't get wind of this technology, otherwise they would try to capture and reverse engineer it, just like they had done with the Chozodian weapons, as well as that of many other sentient races. Deciding that dwelling on such things would do her no good, she began her decent towards the Planet Aether, her mind now on her mission and how she would go about it.

[Andx]

Suddenly the newcomer introduced himself as Lumina and explained that everything going on was part of a large war with the darkness. They needed help in the fight from what he said. Corinne took the story rather well despite how ridiculous it might have seemed. But after having been attacked by the dark creatures on multiple occasions and then suddenly being brought to another planet, Corinne was much more willing to believe these seemingly outlandish tales.

"So that's what's going on? A giant war between darkness and light? Sounds like a fairy tale or myth, or something like that. But that's why people are acting odd right? Why some disappear and all that? Meaning the sooner the war ends the sooner all that ends too right? Okay, I'm in. I've been searching for answers for awhile now and it seems you have them. I'm not sure how strong I am or if I can be any help but I'll do whatever I can to put an end to all this." Corinne said. She was hoping that if the war ended her friends would return to normal and she would be able to return to her peaceful life.

As Marina continued something seemed off. And before long things proved to follow that feeling. Before she knew what was going on, Marina was surrounded by darkness. It was clear to be the same as the dark thing that had been trying to persuade her to follow it though now it clearly seemed set on getting her regardless of her choice.

"So that's it then?" she said holding her hands out at her sides with her palms up. She didn't sound all that impressed with the display the darkness had for her. It sounded like she had expected more of her attacker.

"You get tired of asking so you take my choice out of the matter?! Poor show on your part! Try to take me if you can!" she said, almost challenging the darkness to take her. She spoke like she knew it couldn't.

 

Before she could continue a small sphere of light appeared amid the swarm of darkness and prevented it from engulfing her. It provided a path out and it told her to get out quickly.

"So you two are going to fight over me? I'd feel touched if that meant anything to me. Shame it doesn't. Whatever. Have fun with each other. I don't intend to get caught in the middle of this." Marina said shrugging and putting her arms down. She then began walking down the path the light had provided for her.

"Whoever wins, come see me. I may just finally go with the winner." Marina said with a sarcastic chuckle as she passed out of the darkness.

[Shadow Zero]

"A war, huh? I've never really been much for wars. Still, I've seen the alternative, and it is not a pleasant one. Very well then." Shu had finally made his decision to join in the fighting. To be honest, he would rather not have to. Still, there was his family and friends to consider, not to mention any chance of living in peace. "I'll fight, but only so that there can be some measure of peace. My name is Shu Chinen, by the way." Lumina looked to be greatly relieved, and turned to head towards a nearby console that up until that point had been hidden in a wall. "That is good to hear. You may not take a great deal of comfort in this, but there was once a person who single-handedly saved our people. To know that there are those who are willing to help is of great comfort. Shu Chinen walked over to teh console that Lumina was headed for and noticed that there was a map of the planet and a radar showing the space around it. "Looks like someones ship is approaching." Lumina looked at it and thought it strange that there was a ship this close to the planet where there had been none before. At any rate, he could not be sure as to whether or not it was an advance scout. Best to be on the safe side. Lumina swiftly ordered a platoon of troops to head towards the landing site and sealed the doors leading to the Great Temple. I only hope that it isn't an advance scout for the Armies of Darkness.

Meanwhile the darkness tried to reach out towards Marina, but the sphere of light created a shield surrounding the darkness and keeping it out of reach. "You have both light and darkness inside of you. One day, you will choose your own path." With those final words, there was an explosion of light that completely obliterated the darkness, also destroying the sphere of light in the process. However, there was an unintended consequence, a blast of energy that formed a portal that sucked Marina into it.

Samus was finishing the landing procedures of her ship, wondering how she was going to deal with the Luminoth troops outside of her ship. She didn't want to have to do any unnecessary fighting if it could be avoided. In that moment, there was a bright flash of light and a thud as something hit the floor. Instantly reacting with years of training and instinct, Samus turned and aimed her Arm Cannon at the intruder with her left hand placed immediately above it. "Who are you, and how the hell did you get here? What do you want?" Samus's gaze narrowed into an annoyed glare, he features unseen behind her green visor that was all that allowed her to see out of her armor.

"So we've both agreed to help, what happens now?" Corinne asked Lumina. She was curious as to what they'd go about doing, how to go about doing it, essentially all the details though Corinne didn't want to swarm Lumina with questions. The ship coming in hadn't seemed to have registered with her, or at least it wasn't bothering her. Corinne didn't seem to be bothered by a lot of things but she couldn't just be passed off as oblivious. It was clear enough that she wasn't stupid. If anything it seemed like she picked and chose what did and didn't get to concern her.

"I want to get going and put an end to all of this as soon as we can. So what's the next step?" Corinne added.

As the light exploded it told Marina that she housed both light and darkness in her heart. The force of the explosion was not only killing the darkness, but pushing Marina back.

"You think I don't know that? Who cares about light and darkness?! It's the same thing as right and wrong! It's a pointless struggle that doesn't mean anything. Neither one is better or worse than the other! Why would I ever choose between two things so stupid?! Money and logic, those are the only two things in the world that make any sense." she said. Before long the force threw her back off her feet and then it seemed directly into a portal.

"So where's this going to take me? With any luck I won't have to deal with the mercenary group anymore. What a day today is turning out to be. Whatever, just take it all in stride. Not like any of it matters anyway." Marina thought.

 

Before she knew what had happened, Marina had fallen and hit some floor of some kind. And immediately someone was yelling at her. She looked and saw what she could only describe as a robot but she heard a woman's voice coming from it so she knew that couldn't be the case.

"What the hell kind of way is that to talk to someone?!" Marina yelled right back at Samus as she stood. Then she took notice of what looked like a large gun on her arm.

"If you must know, my name is Marina Abendroth, I have no idea how I got here and as such don't want anything." she said.

[Shadow Zero]

I am afraid that what we are to do will have to wait for the moment. We have an unexpected visitor, and I am not sure as to whether it is an advance scout for the armies of darkness or not. You see, not all of them are easily recognized as evil. Some of them are able to tke on a form that seems normal enough to deceive others, we shall soon see." As Lumina turned towards the console again, Shu noticed that there was a ship that had landed, and a bunch of Luminoth armed with weapons, each of them aiming at the ship. Great. We get here and already there's another fire fight about to start. Wonderful. Shu was annoyed at the way things were turning out already, but he held his peace, not wanting to cause any more problems then there already were. He only hoped that this could be resolved so that they could get on with things already.

Samus growled inwardly at the unwelcome passenger and reached behind her to hit the button that opened the part of the ship that would allow her to climb out. "Wonderful, just wonderful. The absolute last thing I need and it happens, someone showing up and endangering my mission. Well, stay out of my way and I'll have no reason to harm you. I am only interested in completing my mission, understand?" Samus had never encountered this sort of scenario before, and she had a severe dislike of it already. "Just don't touch anything and leave in a direction different from me, will you?" Samus then jumped out of her ship and landed on top of it. The Luminoth soldiers each tightened their grip and took aim at Samus as she appeared, then their jaws all dropped simultaneously. They couldn't believe their eyes, and yet they each knew that he or she was not seeing things. Not hesitating for a single instant, Samus jumped and used her Screw Attack to somersault through the air and land on a cliff in front of and to the side of her ship. She ran towards the door on the other side of the area that she had landed on and went through it. Finally, one of the soldiers recovered enough to contact Lumina and say, "Are you getting this? I thought that the hunter was......" He wasn't even able to finish the sentence, all he was able to do was stand there, completely dumbstruck.

"So we wait then. That's easy enough I suppose." Corinne said. She looked around wondering what else they might do while they waited. There wasn't a lot to do at the moment. This newcomer was the one thing consuming Lumina's thought so it wasn't like Corinne could ask him many questions. Corinne hardly knew Shu. She supposed she could try to get to know him but there were probably better times to go about that.

"So there's two of us so far. Is two really going to be enough to make a difference in all of this? Shu seemed powerful enough to be sure but is that enough? I hope some more people show up. This isn't going to be very easy with just two to work on it." Corinne thought.

Marina sort of laughed to herself as the woman on board got angry with her. It was amusing to her to see someone so tense about things. Samus then told her to not touch anything and to leave in a direction different to hers.

"I don't plan to stick around here for long, I can assure you that." Marina told Samus. Samus then exited the ship and it sounded like she got to fighting right away. Then again, Marina wasn't sure what sounds to associate with this Samus person and her fighting.

"So if I step outside at the moment, I get attacked? Whatever, can't be that much different from what I was doing." Marina said. She too exited the ship only to see Samus and a group of very odd looking people. Marina wasn't sure she could call them human. There did seem to be a fair bit of light coming off each person. She wondered if they had anything to do with the light she had seen. Samus herself hadn't actually been fighting but instead had been moving off, and quickly too.

"So much drama over this 'ship' and getting off it. Do you always burst into places with that gun of yours pointed at everything that moves. Whatever, do what you want. I'll get out of your hair now." Marina said. Though she wasn't sure why she had bothered saying that. Samus had already gotten on the move so it wasn't like she could hear her. At least, Marina was pretty sure she couldn't. Wasn't really a concern either way.

"Now then, to figure out where the heck I am. I guess talking with the locals might help." Marina thought.

[Shadow Zero]

Lumina watched the screen intently as Samus used the screw attack to somersault over to the cliff where the other entrance to the great temple could be found past the path of eyes. He wasn't worried. He had increased protection in all areas of Aether to Cobalt Blue status, allowing for highly limited access to a number of areas for any potential enemy forces, Still, the fact that Samus, whose name he did not yet know, greatly resembled the hunter that had freed the Luminoth in the appearance of her armor, and this unsettled him for reasons that he could not guess at. Suddenly, he noticed another walking towards the Luminoth soldiers, apparently seeming to be unaware as to where she was, but also not seeming to be lost. "Soldiers, keep an eye on that one, but don't raise your weapons to her if she gives you a reason to." Lumina then turned away and faced Shu anc Corrine saying "I know this is rather abrupt, but I have a request to make of you. There is an unknown person of hidden intent approaching from Area C in the temple grounds Via the Path of eyes. I need you to intercept her, and if possible, stop her from entering the Great Temple, at least for now. We don't know what her intentions are, and we don't want to give her any sensitive information if she is indeed an enemy. Will you accept this request?" Shu Chinen thought over Luminas Request before nodding once and proceeding to the map terminal nearby. Having found the area that he needed to go to, he walked over to the elevator leading to the lower area of the Great Temple and turned, waiting to see if Corrine would follow or not.

Samus moved stealthily through the hall of eyes and into what appeared to be the main access area that was armed with lasers of some sort. Changing into Morph Ball mode, Samus takes the appearance of a meter high sphere and zooms along the floor, dodging the lasers that are fired at her and jumping into what looks like to be a pipe only a little wider then Samus in here Morph Ball mode. Traveling through this, she quickly emerged on the other side and returns to her humanoid form, scanning the area with her visor before proceeding. Finding no enemies, Samus begins walking towards the door that leads to an elevator leading upwards towards the Great Temple. Samus tilted her head to the side fora moment, as if amused at the attempt to keep her out, then merely placed her first two finger of her right hand on the side of her helmet and began scanning the door that had a Cobalt Blue hologram being emitted from it.

Lumina had been talking with his soldiers who were off in the distance for a bit. He then requested that Corinne and Shu go prevent the recent arrival from entering a temple of some sort. Shu had simply nodded and went off towards the destination. Corinne wanted something to do so she had no problem helping Lumina.

"No problem. We'll get right on it!" Corinne said. She then followed after Shu, knowing that speed would be important if they were to intercept this person.

"Let's go Shu." she said as she caught up. Corinne began wondering what this person they were to prevent from entering was like. Lumina couldn't tell if this person was good or bad from just having her land so they'd have to find out when they got there.

Marina was sort of aimlessly walking. Like she knew where she wanted to go but really didn't. She had debated talking with the strange people that had come to most likely check out the ship that had just landed. Then again, she wasn't sure how they'd react to her, especially with a rather obvious sword at her side. Knowing she wasn't going to get anywhere just wondering about it, she decided to talk with the people.

"Hey.... guys I guess. Would any of you be able to tell me where I am and how I can go about getting back to where I was?" she said.

[Shadow Zero]

After Corrine arrived, the elevator, which was a great circular platform, began its descent to the lower area of the Great Temple. "Corrine, be careful. We don't know anything about the person we're going to be dealing with, Or what he or she will be up to. As he spoke, the elevator slowed to a stop and Shu began walking towards the center area of the Great Temples lower levels. He then turned off to the left to take transport C down to the Temple grounds and opened the door before walking through it, his thoughts only on the mission at hand.

Samus stopped in the center of the area that she was in at the moment, turning to look behind her. For a moment, she thought that she had heard something. After a few moments, she decided to dismiss it and continue moving forward. She would not be deterred in her mission.

The soldier that Marina had talked to raised an eyebrow, then radioed in her question rp Lumina, who responded that she could very well be sent back to where she had come from as long as she knew exactly where it was that she was going. the soldier relayed this information to her, and also said that Lumina suggested taking transport A to the Great Temple to speak with him in person, and to also use the portal there to take her home.

Corinne followed Shu about as he moved because unlike herself, he seemed to know how to go about getting places.

"You worry too much! With two of us here, this person won't be much of a problem. Now let's go find him or her and see what he or she is up to!" Corinne said. It was honest optimism and bright energy. Probably a little more than most people would care to see and definitely more than people who had suddenly been dropped on another planet would care to show. But it wasn't like Corinne to let this get her down. Now she just had to focus on finding the person and seeing what they wanted. Not too hard.

"At least they responded. Shame most of that doesn't make much sense to me. Who the heck is Lumina anyway? Whatever, I'll just go where they tell me." Marina thought. With the same unconcerned expression she'd had the whole time on her face, Marina began walking towards transport A, or whatever it was called, to meet with this Lumina person.

"Thanks for the info. Though I can't say you're all that bright for not making me pay for it!" she called back to the soldiers as she moved on her way.

[Shadow Zero]

Shu and Corrine both walk onto transport C and take it down to the Temple Grounds. Unlike the elevator that connected the upper and lower levels of the Great Temple, the Transport, which was also a circular platform leading downward, moved downwards at an incredible pace. Within a few moments, the platform cam to a sudden stop and Shu and Corrine both stepped forward. Shu opened the door and found himself face to face with Samus, who was only a few feet away. not wanting to seem surprised Shu said "Who are you, and what do you want here?" Samus, not one to divulge the details of her mission simply said "I have a mission to carry out, and I won't let you stop me. Samus raise her arm cannon and fired off a missile. Shu quickly uses a reflect Battle Chip and knocks the missile right back at Samus who, having been caught off guard, is hit with it. Shu then follows up with a rapid fire burst of energies from his hand, knocking Samus back even further. "I won't allow you to set foot inside of the great Temple." Shu says as he advances and continues firing at Samus, who by now has recovered and fires off several shots using her power beam, each shot colliding with one of Shu's and causing a small explosion. The battle had begun.

Corinne saw Samus and Shu quickly get to fighting each other. Corinne thought to take a more supportive position as getting up close while Shu was already trying to fight at somewhat-close-range would prove to be a bit difficult. Corinne drew the bow from around the quiver on her back and readied an arrow.

"Shadow Striking. Ready to go." Corinne thought. She aimed and took fire at Samus's shadow on the ground. If it hit, it would cause a real arrow wound on Samus's body where it had hit on the shadow.

Marina had taken some transport and nearly lost her balance at how fast it had moved. She looked around and saw really only one other person in the place. He looked like the others she had spoken with briefly not too long ago. So she figured he had to be that Lumina guy. Well, she still wasn't sure how to tell genders on the people here but she figured he had to be a guy, or at least that person she'd spoken with before had sounded like one. Regardless, she wasn't all that concerned. She just wanted to get back to where she was from wherever this was.

"So you must be the person I was told to come see." Marina called out as she walked up.

[Shadow Zero]

Samus saw the arrow that was approaching off to the side and didn't give it any thought. What harm could a single arrow do to her anyway, while she was wearing this bio-mechanical armor? Deciding that she had had enough, she used a Screw Attack to somersault straight into Shu, who took an appreicable amount of damage and was knocked off balance. Samus then went through the door and into Transport C, taking it to the lower level of the Great Temple.

 

 

Lumina greeted the approaching Marina and said "Yes, you expressed a desire to return home? there is a portal on the upper levels of the Great Temple that can take you back to where you came from. If you would follow me, please." Lumina walked over to the circular platform that served as the elevator leading upwards to the upper levels of the Great Temple, expecting Marina to follow since it led to the thing that would allow her to return to her own world.

Seeing Samus run into the transport, Corinne put her bow away and drew her sword. She then intended to give chase. However Shu had been hurt and now Corinne had to choose between helping Shu or chasing Samus. She figured she'd be able to do both well enough. Though that would probably let Samus get away. She ran over to Shu, after putting her sword away as it would get in the way, and began helping him to his feet.

"Are you alright?" she said, clearly concerned. She got one of Shu's arms over her shoulders and began to help him walk towards the transport.

"That person got into the transport but I still think we can stop her." Corinne said.

Lumina told Marina that there was a portal that would be able to take her home. He then motioned for her to follow him.

"That's pretty convenient. Though there's something I suppose I should ask about. Has someone from here been following me as of late? Every time I've been by myself for the past few months two things always came up to me. One looked like a person, or rather like a shadow of a person, and the other was this strange light thing that I couldn't really place what it looked like. They both kept annoying me to come with them until the shadow got fed up and attacked me. Then the light got rid of the shadow and next thing I know, I end up here. So I want to know if you know anything about that light or that shadow. And since you people here seem to like glowing I figured I'd ask." Marina said.

[Shadow Zero]

Shu was grateful for Corrine helping him to his feet, but shrugged her off and started walking on his own. "I'm fine, the armor took most of the damage for me." Boy do I feel stupid. I should have gone into my humanoid form and trapped Samus in the earth, that would have been the obvious thing to do. As he silently berated himself, Shu turned to Corrine and saying "It's to late to stop her, but we still have to give chase. Shu Chinen stepped inside of transport C and got on one of the disk shaped elevtors that lead upwards and gave chase after Samus, determined to stop her.

 

 

Samus arrives on the lower level of the Great Temple and walks along the pathway that leads to the center area. upon her arrival, she sees that the main elevator leading to the upper level where she needed to be was already at the top area. Not wishing to draw any attention to herself, she finds a stairwell that leads upwards, complete with a ramp for any disable persons, and goes into morphball mode to ascend the ramp with a minimal amount of noise.

 

 

In response to Marinas question, Lumina said "There was one who wanted to search for those who could help us in the war against the darkness, which I am sure you know is attempting to solidify its hold in many places. It was advised against, but he was one of the more stubborn ones who didn't know how to take no for an answer. Usually, as he had told us, he would move on after being given no for an answer in recruiting, something that surprised us all. He must have felt differently in your case since you were being shadowed by the darkness. However, I do not believe that he would have intentionally sent you here against your will. Whatever happened must have been an unintended consequence of what he was doing at the time." As he spoke, the elevator came to a stop and he walked over to the interdimensional portal on the other side of the room from the elevator. This will lead you back to your home dimension. Just allow me a moment to input the coordinates."
