What do you look for in a video game?

Gameplay

Storyline

Is there an absurd time limit or not*?

...

A bunch of other things.

...

More things.

...

Graphics.

The main things are gameplay and storyline, the former being the most important, since a game is nothing if you can't play it. Storyline is important, which is why I like the Zelda franchise and stuff, but Mario always has shitty storylines except for maybe Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG, but those aren't mainstream games. The mainstream games just have good gameplay and creativity.

*I despise games that are difficult and have a timer. If a game has a timer, that's fine, like Mario Bros. If a game is difficult, that's fine, like TMNT or something. But if a game has both, that pisses me off.

Graphics are the least important by far, but that's because I play Nintendo and recent Nintendo consoles have the worst graphics out of their respective gen consoles.

But the graphics are still great.

I want a game that I have fun playing, meaning the game play is the key.

I look to this how hard the game is because I like high level difficulties. It creates replay value and giving me the urge to play it again because I know the game will beat me if I'm not careful. I even like making difficult challenges, like trying to beat a game without dieing or putting 2, 3 level 9s against me in Super Smash Bros Melee. But that doesn't mean I don't like easy games. Usually when I start playing a game for the first time, I always put it on hard or very hard. (which ever the highest)

customization.

Difficulty. I find many games trivially easy. I also look for depth' date=' I prefer something with lots of fun nuances to learn.

Both of these. If a game can make me want to throw my controller at my TV, it's doing it's job imo. :D

A game's difficulty is the second most difficult part of it to balance, the most difficult being the multiplayer section. If a game has balanced difficulty - about even on the pre-boss parts, a rise on the boss itself, and increased difficulty after that - I can like it. Bosses aren't supposed to be spikes, they should be steps on a stair.

This is why I hate Bosses in Mook Clothing.

Then MW2 is perfect for you. :D

These basically.
