Video Game Character Tournament: Round One (Starkiller VS Alex Mercer VS John-117)

Okay, so I'm going to be doing four 1v1v1 matches, then taking the winnners from each round and pitting them against each other in either a 4-way melee or a 2v2 team battle. Here's the first round of the tournament. If people would like me to post the matchups in advance, just say so and I'll post them.

 

Round One: Galen Marek VS Alex Mercer VS John-117

Galen Marek (a.k.a. "Starkiller") (The Force Unleashed)

 

Galen is the secret apprentice of Darth Vader, trained by the Sith Lord for over a decade. Galen wields lightsabers in battle with great skill, able to outdo Jedi masters, the Emperor's greatest assassins, and even Darth Vader himself with a single saber. It is safe to assume he has become even stronger in saber combat, as he has begun using two sabers in combat. While in most styles this would require one to sacrifice the strength of a two-handed attack, Galen already only used one hand for saber combat, and as such loses nothing in fighting with two sabers. Starkiller is capable of extremely powerful feats of telekinesis, such as pulling a starship nearly two kilometers in length out of the sky. He can easily generate enough telekinetic force to kill an armored human on impact and can project this level of power in a spherical pulse from his body. Galen is also an extremely powerful user of lightning, able to generate enough electricity to kill a man in roughly one second and sustain this blast for over five seconds. He often integrates these abilities into his saber combat and channels them through his weapons. Starkiller is capable of deflecting blaster bolts with just a wave of his hand without looking at them, showing strong instinctive precognition. He is also capable of powerful Farsight (seeing events at other points in time/space), despite having no training in this ability whatsoever. Galen can manipulate the minds of others on a high level, able to control one's actions through telepathic suggestion or vocal command, induce temporary insanity, or even cause unconsciousness with a thought. He also has an ability known as "Force Fury" that allows him to temporarily tap into the Force on a much higher level than he was previously able to. Galen is extremely resistant to injury, as shown by the fact that he was not killed even when impaled by Darth Vader, telekinetically slammed against a number of metal bulkheads, and thrown into the vacuum of space. He has demonstrated a capacity to instinctively use Force abilities he was never taught on an extremely high power level, and as such he is somewhat unpredictable when backed into a corner.

Alex Mercer ([PROTOTYPE])

 

To be precise, this technically isn't "Alex Mercer" himself; it's the Blacklight Virus, which took his form after he released it in Grand Central Station and it infected him. Anyways, Mercer/Blacklight is capable of consuming others' cells and converting them to Blacklight cells, which he then supercondenses into his body. This makes him extremely heavy, but Alex is still superhumanly fast and strong, able to cover a New York city block in mere seconds at a full sprint and able to easily heft cars and throw them accurately at helicopters. Furthermore, when injured, Mercer can simply replace the damaged tissue with more cells. Being essentially a mass of virus cells, Mercer doesn't have the weakness of internal organs, as his intelligence is distributed across each cell. When Mercer consumes an individual, he absorbs all of their knowledge and memories; he seems to have near-perfect recall of all of the information he has stored. Mercer is also able to shape-shift into different forms, such as the body of somebody he's consumed or turning his arm into a blade. His known powers are Thermal Vision, Infected Vision, Armor, Shield, Blade (which can destroy an Apache helicopter or a Tank in one strike), Claws (which can project spikes from the ground), Whipfist (which can extend extremely far), Hammerfist, and Musclemass. He is also extremely capable as a pilot of a helicopter, a tank operator, and a gunman.

John-117 (The Halo Franchise)

 

John-117 is a SPARTAN of the USMC. Having undergone SPARTAN augmentation, John is normally capable of thinking and moving at 300% of normal human speed, as well as being smarter, more creative, and possessing a stronger memory. He is capable of regenerating from some wounds and recovering from unconsciousness extremely quickly. His skeleton is coated in some sort of ceramic substance that makes it virtually unbreakable. His eyes are augmented to drastically increase his visual perception. His strength is increased to the point that he can lift six times the weight of an average human. John is also an extremely capable soldier, proficient in the use of all manner of firearms, including sniper rifles and heavy weapons such as rocket launchers or the SPARTAN Laser. He wears MJOLNIR MK VI armor, which is made from a titanium alloy capable of taking multiple armor-piercing rounds before being punctured. The armor also generates an energy shield that takes roughly 24 tons of force to collapse, and it multiples his thought and movement speed by 5, meaning John is capable of thinking, reacting, and moving at 15 times the speed of a normal human when wearing the armor. The armor also has Force-Multiplying Circuits that can increase the force behind a movement to such a point that for a normal human wearing MJOLNIR armor, just trying to move one's arm could shatter it. For the purposes of this round, John will have a SPARTAN Laser, an Assault Rifle, two fragmentation grenades, and a bubble shield. He will not be able to use the Halo: Reach armor abilities.

 

 

 

 

My vote for this round is going with Galen because of his stubbornness and sheer power. Who do you guys think would win?
