Joe grasped the black phone in his hand. 'What a strange being' Joseph though. This only made it harder. Joe couldn't bring himself to kill another human, yet this other ranger respected him for it and didn't take advantage of that opening. He would have to ponder what this all meant. And figure out what to do in the end.

----

As the fight subsided Atlas got up from his seat. "It appears our entertainment is over, we should go about our business." Atlas began to walk away, but then stopped and faced his head towards Legion. "If Joe and I must fight, then we shall. I'll se what friendship can do then. But I will say this, you may know about all the future possibilities, but friendship is the most elusive concept. You should familiarize yourself with that, and love. Only then can you truly understand the possibilities of the miracles they may be able to achieve." With that being said, Atlas then turned brown, same color as the ground around him, and submerged into the ground and disappeared.

Legion watched Atlas leave before taking a fleeting glance at te rangers. He exploded into shadows which flew away back to Vile's base.

Later, he was carrying a tray with a jug of water, a bowl containing a thick stew, a hunk of bread, a pat of butter alongside a fork. He walked to the outside of Izabel's room and unlocked the door; after opening it he walked to the desk and placed the tray on it. 'It appears the golden one had a bit of strife today against some evil rangers. His feeble human compassion prevent him from finishing his foe; thus the evil ranger got away. It makes me wonder how Master Vile never managed to eliminate the rangers when their compassion weighs them down' he commented and leant against an empty wall.

Ralis watched as his partner disappeared and then began speaking to the rangers. "Well I may not have some grand history like my pal Nexev over there but I still don't like your attitude Panther, and rest assured, I will come back, and I will fight you." When nobody responded Ralis then pressed a button on his morpher, letting out a shining emerald light to emerge from his suit. "See ya next time rangers, maybe by then you'll be a little more thoughtful about who you're dealing with" Ralis then waved goodbye at the rangers before disappearing in the shining light,

Auric immediately jumped up, "How dare you insult young Joseph like that. Why you -" he was cut off by Izabel clearing her throat.

"Coul you give us a minute" Izabel asked Auric.

"As you wish my lady." He looked back to Legion. "But I'll still be here. So don't try anything." Auric then burst into a golden light and returned to his Tiki form and sat on the far side of the room.

Izabel looked up at Legion with a slightly amused look. She put down the cards and then laid back on the bed, "Are you sure their compassion is their weakness? Perhaps it's what makes them have to be stronger. At least that's what I know." She said with a belittle tone.

'If compassion ever made then stronger, then my Master would never have been given the chance to call upon us; he would have been already destroyed. It is your concepts of mercy and compassion that has gotten you into this situation. The rangers are surrounded on all sides; one side by my brothers and I, another by Loki and his rangers, another by Gargantia and the final side by Deos. Face it, with these odds I doubt your beloved rangers will have much of a chance, especially after I deal with them when our little deal is over' he replied mockingly.

Izabel giggled to herself, "Really?" she then brushed her hair to the side of her face and said "If you were so dangerous, why would you need a little girl to help you" She then feigned an innocent smile with big puppy dog eyes. She held that stare for a moment and then rolled her eyes. "Please. Admit it ... you're lost and confused. So powerful, yet so weak. Do you find meaning in anything?" She then sat up and looked at him with an intense look, conveying disappointment and pity. "You're nothing more than a lost puppy."

Legion laughed as a shadow snaked forward like a hand and held her chin, drawing her forwards into contact with Legion; they were face-to-face almost. 'I'll give you credit on trying to manipulate me, but why did I need you? It is quite simple; I could have just destroyed all the rangers outright, but where would the fun in that be? Vile told me you've spent some time with villains, it's a pity you can't understand our own goals. Tell me, what do you think would be worse? To be destroyed outright, or to be forced to serve the villain you tried so desperataly to beat? I got under the very skin of Omega Force; they have no choice but to assist me. That's what makes villains and heroes so different; heroes have something they fight for and protect, a two pronged blade that hurts and assists them. Villains normally don't have such a thing, we fight with what we have and what can help us. You and Joseph were but a tool in my plan to destroy Deos; and you eagerly rose to the challenge. For you see, you fail to recognize a key thing. To have power is not to flaunt, but to subtley use it to achieve your goals Izabel. I don't need to know the meaning of everything nor do I need to show-off; I am Vile's shadow. What he wishes of me is all I need to know' Legion answered. The shadow pulled Izabel closer under his hood and Legion kissed her. Time felt like it slowed as the two were held there. He finally released her and walked to the door. 'The mirror will allow you to watch your beloved, but that is all you can do. Now eat, no point in letting your meal go cold' he recommended and left, closing the door and locking it.

Legion returned to his dark void, sitting patiently. 'It appears you passed mental manipulations 101 with flying colours' Broodwing commented. Legion didn't answer, the turbulence of emotions had passed. 'I must admit I didn't expect you to kiss her. That must have been painful on her; but at the same time it would wreck her a little. Who knows, given time you two may tie the knot. Imagine the children' Broodwing went on with excitement.

When Legion had left the room, Auric's tikki shook violently until Auric burst out "THAT SCOUNDREL. Auric shall rip him to pieces. How dare he betray your innocent spirit."

Izabel stood up and walked to the mirror ignoring Auric a little. "First off, can you magically create anything like you did those cards?"

"But of course. Why do you ask?" Auric questioned.

"Mouth wash, or something to get that taste out of my mouth. Pronto." Izabel replied with a grin and then a wince. Auric again materialized a golden orb and tossed it at Izabel. She caught it, and it materialized into a large stone vile of liquid. She removed the ornate lid and it fizzled with some sort of carbonation. She took a sip, gargled and then spit it out in the trash. "Hmmm ... actually not half bad." She then proceeded to start to drink the rest of the refreshing liquid. "And second of all" she continued, "Please. Joe would be the first to tell you that I'm not that innocent."

"Well it was a valiant effort, but it didn't work." Auric sighed.

Izabel paused and turned to him. "Who says it didn't work?" Auric appeared puzzled. "Look at how he responded. I struck a chord with him. If my words meant nothing he would of said a small unimportant phrase and left. But instead he had a mini blowout. And the kiss only shows that he's flustered ... and that he had a certain level of desire for me. He expresses 2 emotions right there ... and the fact that I'm still alive shows that he as well has compassion." She then pulled the mirror closer to the bed. "I think i still might be able to break him."

Auric laughed. "You are quite the piece of work little missy. Joseph is a very lucky man ... or unlucky. haha" He laughed again.

Izabel joined him in laughing at that remark. "Ironic. That's how Joseph feels about the situation as well." They both laughed a little longer until Izabel finally said, "Come on. Let's eat."

Auric raised a hand "you need it more. Enjoy."

"True", Izabel admitted. "But you're my protector. I can't have you be weak either." She said with a smile

"Are you kidding? Auric is never weak. Auric never tires." Auric said in a triumphant voice.

"Well it'll make me feel better if you do. And besides ... I command you, remember." Izabel winked at him.

Auric blushed a little and smiled. "My lady, very rarely has anyone asked me, let alone commanded me, to share a meal with them. Especially one so limited. This truly means many great things to me."

Izabel smiled as she broke the loaf of bread in half and poured some of the soup into the stone vile the liquid was in.

Auric sat down and joined her. "Let me ask you" he paused. "Has there ever been anyone that you haven't been able to manipulate, beguile, or seduce?" Auric asked curiously with a smile.

Izabel merely looked up at him, smiled, and winked before going back to eating.

"Oh, no you don't!" yelled Sean as he jumped for Ralis. He was too late, though, since Ralis disappeared just before he grabbed him. Sean demorphed, pounding the ground with his fists, having it shake with every pound. "No, no, no!! I was so close! I should've finished him when I had the chance! Why...why...WHY!?!" Sean then began crying. He should've defeated him when he was given the opportunity. "I...failed you...father. I...can't...go on." Sean stayed on his knees, his head down and his medium black hair covering the tears on his face. He then made one more pound to the ground, making a gigantic shake, affecting everyone around him.

OoC: Yes, he has medium long black hair. Sorry it took so long to mention it.

Dominic raised an eyebrow when he arrived at the scene. Sean was crying, Joe seemed rather confused. "I presume I missed an important fight? Was it a Tetrarch or something? You know, considering Sean is... Crying." He walked up to Joe, placing his hand on his shoulder. "Oh, and I need to talk to you about something." Dom coughed, then turning to Sean, "Now what the hell is up with you? Did they kick you in the crown jewels or what?" An obvious annoyed tone in his voice. When he thought about it, Sean was more of a liability with his rampant emotions. But whatever. Someone was better than no one, right?

Joe stood up and demorphed. He placed the black cell phone, which Nexev had given him, in his jacket pocket. He turned to Dom. "It wasn't a Tetrarch. Apparently, your dad's making a team of his own. Complete with 2 psychopathic rangers. One of which knows all about us, or at least some version of us in a alternate dimension." He then walked over to Sean. "Look, pull yourself together and let's get back to base." That may have been a bit harsher for Joe's usual tone, but all the recent occurrences had taken their tole. Joe had been manipulated, and had to come to grips with the fact that his girlfriend was being held by one of the most powerful forces they've ever met - and still he refused to break down and cry. That would do no good.

The rangers teleported back to base and informed Zedren about what had happened as well. Joe then remembered that Dom wanted to talk to him about something. "I'm going to go for a walk, I'll catch you guys later." He then shot a glance at Dom, which he knew Dom would understand.

In Zedren's office, Caoimhin was leaning against one of the walls looking over to Zedren who was obviously under a great stress with the current situation the rangers are now in. "Zedren, i think it's about time you used your old skills to help us. Being push back into a tight corner with all these opponents is leaving us unable to fight back successfully and it's time to change our righteous ways of defeating them and act like they are by being deceptive and cunning in our plans and hopefully pin them against each other. You could use those past abilities you had when you fought the rangers to give us the advantage for the first time in a long while. I know you're leading these rangers as some sort of way to gain redemption for your past sins but right now it would be useful to be your old self."

Caoimhin slowly walked over to the door to exit the room. "I'll leave it to you to decide how these rangers and you should act in these desperate times" Caoimhin said to Zedren before leaving him alone to contemplate on what Caoimhin has said.

After Sean had pulled himself together, he went back to a state of confusion. Who was that ranger that resembled him? How did he and that other ranger knew who all of the others were? "I just don't get it." said Sean, annoyed. He then sighed. "Maybe the Diagnostics can help with who those two corrupted freaks were and how they knew about all of us." He then heard a slight beeping sound for a second, one that only he could hear since he was the closest. Then he heard a robotic voice say, "Diagnostics Complete." Sean then rushed to Zedren's room, yelling, "Zedren, the Diagnostics are finished. I need you to display them to the team!"

Zedren was disturbed by what Caoimhin had proposed. He had to give it serious consideration. He never wanted to return to his old ways, but if it was the only way to save the team, he would have to endure the sacrifice. However, he had to make sure that it didn't get carried away.

His thoughts were then interrupted by Sean's arrival. He took a quick glance at the data. "It's just as I had feared. This report confirms it." He turned to all the rangers present, but mostly towards Sean. "The energy signatures of this Emerald Elephant Ranger and the Emerald Panther are exactly the same. I thought it was a mere apparition, an attempt to clone something, but it's not. This is the original. It hasn't been seen in centuries. That's the whole reason we were able to start Operation Emerald Initiative." Zedren feel silent, allowing his confusing words to sink in. There was more to tell, but he didn't exactly know how to put it.

"The whole reason?" asked Sean in suppressed shock. He then walked up to Zedren. "So all this time I was a test monkey!?" Sean was enraged. "So I'm the reason the Operation could continue! All this time, I thought this power was the only one, my power! But no!" He then got into Zedren's face. "I was just a test gerbil that was needed for other purposes. Why didn't you say something Zedren?" Sean then got out of Zedren's face. "If I'm the weaker counterpart, than why did you use me, huh?!" Sean clenched his fists. "If you had told me in the first place, than I wouldn't be acting like this!" Then he pounded the desk right next to him, making a slight dent in it. "I quit!" he yelled as he walked out in anger. Why am I the last one to know about this? he thought. I can understand that Zedren would never see the day to explain this, but it would've helped me make a different choice.

Suddenly, the ground opened up in front of Sean as he stopped. What dispersed from the ground was a skeletal hand, followed by a second hand. Sean then saw who it was who appeared. "You!" he yelled at the figure, now standing up as the hole in the ground disappeared. It turns out that it was Gargantia, who was in hiding ever since he heard and saw what Vile had created. Hello, my feline friend. said Gargantia as he made an evil chuckle. "What do you want?" I saw what happened in your last battle. I never knew someone else had your power. Sean then put his head down. "The one you speak of...is the one who originally held this power..." I see. That seems very interesting. Poor Zedren never told until now, I suppose. He then made a loud cackle.

Sean clenched his fists again and lifted his head, his face showing an enraged look. "SILENCE!!!!" he screamed. Gargantia stopped and realized his serious angered face. "Just because I'm his weaker counterpart, doesn't mean that I'm weaker than you!!" He then morphed and activated his claws. I see you have a new toy to play with. Let's see what you can do. The two prepared their stances. Sean ran towards Gargantia and thrusted his claws towards Gargantia's chest, making full impact.

There was the usual soulless laugh as Gargantia shattered, covering Sean in darkness.

In the blackness, Legion was standing in front of Sean. 'My my my, it seems you are suffering quite the inferiority complex aren't we? It's funny watching you act like this; so emotional and fragile.....like a fake emerald. Isn't that what you are? A fake? Not that it matters, even gemstones can be crushed like glass given the right force. I'm sure that Ralis must be laughing his head off thinking about how pathetic you are' Legion stated, his words smug and totally contemptible.

"It was...an illusion?" asked Sean softly as he saw that he was demorphed. As he looked around, he saw nothing but the black, vast emptiness of the darkness that covered him. "I-I don't understand. Wait a second, Legion?" He now realized something very interesting. He walked into a trap after he had left the base and his very fear of being the weaker counterpart left him wide open for Legion to toy with him. "Why are you doing this, Legion? What do you want from me that you don't have?"

Legion took a step forwards and vanished. He appeared behind Sean, his back turned to him. 'Me? I want very little, I want nothing but for my Master to succeed. However' Legion said, taking a dramatic sweeping turn to face Sean. 'It appears there is something you in turn want. You want to defeat Ralis and prove you are and will be the better one. I want to make that happen. Call me soft, but I am willing to help you with the battle. All you have to do is sign a deal. I will ensure your battle with Ralis will be in your favour; just one battle, which I'm sure is all you want. In return, all I'd want is a favour, within good reason' Legion stated.

Zedren had a very heavy heart now. He decided to tell the rest of the rangers what the true story was.

"You see, the Emerald Elephant powers were lost a long time ago. They were very similar to the panther powers, in fact, they were like brother powers. Anyway, like the panther powers, they were contained within an idol. The idol was lost centuries ago; however, the powers still remained of course. The Emerald Initiative was to transfer the Emerald powers to the Panther host. Since they were brother powers, it seemed plausible. Also ... the panther was losing power but still retained the idol. The elephant had to idol, but it's power was free flowing. It was the perfect plan. Or so we thought. Apparently Loki must of had the idol and used his own magic to give it power. It is uncertain as to whether or not this incarnation of the powers will have the same strength as before, or even greater strength. Although the same could be said for the Emerald Panther ... it seems that this Emerald Elephant ranger was born to have these powers ad is thus further along in his fulfillment of the abilities."

Legion was right. He just wanted to be the only one with these powers, and now he might have the chance. He might regret this, but he didn't care. All he wanted to do at the moment was to defeat Ralis and finally be at peace for being the only one left with the Emerald powers. Whatever Legion's favor is, he will agree with it regardless. "Very well." replied Sean. "But what is this 'favor' that you would like in return, hm?" Curiosity was now on his mind with Legion's favor.

Legion chuckled as a contract appeared in his hand. 'The favour I may want is immaterial. I can ask for it whenever I choose; but when the time comes for it, i am certain you will in turn fulfil it. Now, all you need to do is sign the contract and we can get business under way' Legion stated as he crafted a black bone quill. He handed that over to Sean as well and waited. Another plan was already in fruition, this was too perfect.

Dom nodded to himself and walked off to his own destination, which by coincidence would be exactly where Joe was heading. Their meeting point was part of the beach, the one where they also first met or well, fought. It was one of the more barren locations, which made it all the better. When Dom arrived, there was no one there. This was normal, Joe always was the last to appear. He DID want to fake that he was going on a walk after all. Now he just hoped he wouldn't take too long, he didn't have much time to spare before he would have to take a short leave...

Joe approached the barren beach where Izabel and him had first met Dom all those months ago. It was hard to believe that they had been rangers for almost half a year already. He walked towards the rocky outcrop where he had rescued Izabel that day and seriously injured himself. He walked up and touched the rock. There was no real purpose for it, aside from the fact that it reminded him of Izabel. He had been so focused lately, it felt nice to reminisce a bit, but he couldn't let it hinder him emotionally. He was never the mushy boyfriend, and he wasn't about to start now.

He approached Dom on one of the rocks, "Ok bud. What's up? You seemed preoccupied, and i doubt your dad's new team is the least of the reasons for it."

"Right well, to put matters lightly. We're screwed," Dom rested a hand on Joe's shoulder, his face taking a serious expression. "These guys are way out of our league Joe, no amount of ass-pulling and magical powers can help us. Well at least, none of yours." Dominic backed away from Joe. He extended his hands forward, as if he was holding something. Black energy began to spark and form around his hands, until a blade was formed. It was a clean cut, silver zweihander. The handle and guard were an ebony black. Dom walked up to the rocky outcropping and stabbed it in. "This is my ace, to put it bluntly."

Joe face got very serious as well. He looked at the embedded blade and then at Dom. "I know." he said in a somber voice. "These Tetrarchs are way out of our league. Not to mention these new rangers." Joe pulled out the black cell phone Nexev gave him. "This guy apparently knows all about us in one way or another. He said to call him if I wanted to talk. I think i may eventually on my own. So i can get a feel of what we're dealing with." Joe put it back in his jacket pocket. "Anyway, ... we truly are outmatched in many ways. Guess I'm hoping on a miracle, but if I was to be dead honest ... we might not win this one. Unless ... this ace of yours really is your ace. Might I ask what it does."
