"Seems like you've gotten careless in your anger, GriffEnd. I gave you a chance to life but it seems you are hopeless creature." Caoimhin spoke as he stood behind GriffEnd with his sword raised in the air. "You don't deserve to life in this universe, you foul beast" He stabbed his blade into GriffEnd's vunerable back and began to slowly channel the powers of Hades into GriffEnd's body attempting to have it conflict with Nexev's holy powers and cause an inbalance in GriffEnd's soul. GriffEnd cringed as the holy flames surged through his body. His grip on Nexev and Akhom weakened slightly. The flames went up GriffEnd's arm, down his back and eventually up his tail ... towards Akhom. But he didn't feel a thing. 'Smart' Akhom thought, 'Nexev's attack is confined to inside GriffEnd's body so that we don't get any of the energy residue being this close'. Just then he saw Caoimhin leap and drive his dark energy into the base of GriffEnd's spine.

This energy attack was just as ferocious as Nexev's. Akhom whistled with an impressed tone. He then noticed how this energy was slowly traveling specifically up and down the spine, and then radiating out of the ribs. Akhom was used to seeing how attacks, energy, and ... other things affected the body, even if it was within the body - he was good like that, but that's a story for another time. 'Wait!' Akhom though. 'If that energy is traveling through his bones, and Nexev and I are being gripped by claws ... attached to the skeleton. Well, makes sense, Cao would see us as acceptable collateral damage.'

Akhom smirked as he held out his hands in closed fists. Two daggers of energy formed in his hands, as if he was holding the blade on this outside of his hands - military style. He then brought his hands together swiftly as an ex and sliced through the bony spines on GriffEnd's tail that was restraining him. GriffEnd then let out another scream of pain. Now freed, Akhom disappeared and reareared above Nexev, grabed him and then disappeared again (to save him before the dark energy hit him), and finally reappeared a few feet to the side - safe and sound.

Akhom finally responded to Nexev's question "That's why i'm around ... to make things less boring." and smiled.

GriffEnd's body began to spark with the overload of energy as he began to stumble forwards. Sean then leaped forward and grabbed Caoimhin' "He's about to explode. Move" Sean then pulled Caoimhin away over to where Akhom and Nexev were standing.

GriffEnd still had the energy waves coursing through his body as he hit the wall. Sparks were erupting from him like he had swallowed fire works. Suddenly there was a massive explosion. It was hard to see anything. As the dust and debris settled, there was a large section of the mall that was blasted out and collapsed where GriffEnd stood. All was quiet.

----------------

Above all the action, Atlas watched. Impressed by all the combatants but particularly focusing on Caoimhin "Good guardian good. You don't need blood magic. This is your style. Your instincts serve you well. You are almost ready." He said to himself.

----------------

Meanwhile, across town an old man sat sipping a cup of tea. One of his eyes had a monocle as he was reading the paper, yet his mind was somewhere else. He spoke to himself. "What a beautiful Act. But sadly the play isn't over yet ... nor is this Act." He sipped his tea. "But soon. Soon Act I will be over, and Act II shall begin." He smiled and continued to read his paper.

Caoimhin looked at Sean and Brandon who also escaped from the explosion with his incredible speed. "Is he dead? Did we, include Akhom and Nexev, defeat a Tetrarch?" He couldn't believe it begin possible after so many losing battles against them, could they actually have defeated GriffEnd. Caoimhin suddenly felt weak all around his body and reverted back to normal...his skin was more paler than usual. Looking in horror as his only right arm was covered in blood and remembered how he foolishly forgotten to cauterized his palm before he morphed, leaving his hand bleeding in his armor with only adrenaline helping him in the heat of battle. Guess they were right after all Caoimhin thought in his mind before collapsing to the ground.

Akhom walked over to Caoimhin who was still conscious, but lying motionless on the ground. "Well well." Akhom then started counting with his fingers. "You tried to kill me. Tried to make a deal to kill me. AND now you didn't listen to me when i said stay away from blood magic." As Akhom walked closer a plant of sorts appeared in his right hand. He then plucked a leaf from the plant and made the rest of it disappear. As Akhom stood over him he placed the leaf over Caoimhin's wound and let some of the sap drip into the blood stream. He then materialized a few leaves of a different plant and broke off a tiny little piece and gave them to Caoimhin to chew.

Akhom started to walk away towards the others "The stuff i put in your blood is a disinfectant, oh and it's gonna hurt like hell - at least for a minute or so. And the stuff i gave you to eat will speed up your metabolism for a little while. It'll give you your energy back - oh, and that'll just taste a little bitter, no pain." He then turned to the others, "I'd give all of you some of that metabolism stuff ... but it'd kill you. Cao's body is slightly more resilient so he'll live."

"ANYway, so did we win?"

'GRIFFEND!' Legion cried, his hand reached out to the mirror, it dropped quickly. He grabbed the left side of his with his left hand, he was barely repressing his sobs. A single black tear dropped from his hood and fizzled on the floor below. He vanished without saying a word.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in a place that seemed to defy time and space, was a room, it had seven sides to it. Despite it being the room, the wall was decorated like a graveyard, making it seem as if the room went on. There were six real tombstones however. The grave to the left of the door was open, inside was a small urn. Small particles of dust trickled in from nowhere and funneled into the urn, until it was all gone. The dirt by the grave shifted and covered the urn. Legion appeared there, taking his sickle, he carved out a message.

'Here lies GriffEND;

Swift Fiend of the Tetrarchs.

May he Rest in Peace'

From his sleeve he removed a small seed, which he planted into the grave soil. Like magic, a bushel of daffodils grew. 'May you rest in peace' Legion whispered and sat on his knees in front of the grave.

Back in the mall, the group suddenly felt weird. The felt their bodies become stiff. They couldn't move.

A few feet away, there was a rumbling within the rubble. Suddenly there was a blast of red energy from the rubble. Something emerged from it, but it wasn't GriffEnd well ... not exactly. The figure emerged with the same stature of GriffEnd, but about 95% of it's flesh was stripped from its body. The rest of it's body was all bones. One arm was stubble and ended in a pointed fractured bone. Only one wing remained while the other had completely broken off. His tail looked like it would shatter any moment. The eyes in it's skull were finally revealed with its mask being blown away.

"I said I'd kill you" it muttered "i only have enough strength for this act, but so be it."

"GriffEnd!" Sean slightly muttered while still frozen.

"No ... it's not GriffEnd. Something's different." Akhom muttered as well, unable to move, unable to teleport.

At this point Atlas was still observing, he was either unaffected by GriffEnd's technique or out of range. He responded to the rangers' curiosity. "Correct Akhom. It's one of the additional abilities of GriffEnd. Something that only Vile and myself knew. GriffEnd was the only one of us that came into this world not already fully matured, he grew swiftly. Eventually his started to develop a separate soul you might say. GriffEnd is truly dead. You have truly brought down the might first of the Tetrarchs, but what you see before you is the embodiment of his determination. His sense of loyalty to his word. You've destroyed GriffEnd but can you deal with the consequence of it?" Atlas questioned.

The remains walked ever closer to the rangers, slowly but surely. He paid no attention to Atlas, didn't even recognize him. All the ranger could do was speak softly, and think.

"Well look at the bright side ... we killed GriffEnd." Akhom remarked.

"Yah ... and now we're going to be killed by his ghost." Sean responded somberly. "What do you call that?"

"Irony?" Akhom muttered trying to lighten the mood.

Caoimhin was laying on the ground, chewed on the leaf Akhom had given him to help him regain his energy. He wasn't sure if this creature that had emerged from the remains of GriffEnd's body and restrained his body as well, unable to distinguish whether the weird feeling in his body was it's doing or from his body's metabolism accelerating inside of him. "Hey...Akhom...the reason I had to kill you was because Joseph has shown no signs of returning and the fact that you will one day find out I gained my ranger powers from Hades and will no doubt want me dead after what he did to you. Getting that out of the way now, you think we can fight this creature and win?"

OoC: I'm only doing this to speed thing along with Sean a bit. So don't expect another post from me probably until the end of the battle, or maybe even longer than that.

Sean was beyond horrified at what GriffEnd had become. If he hadn't lost his powers, or better yet, if he could've at least attempted to finish him off, then this wouldn't have happened. But that was beside the point. He came back because of his determination, and he won't stop until the rangers are destroyed, or until we find out how to kill him for good. Why couldn't he have defected to our side and kill off his brothers? He thought. He then sighed and got serious. "Akhom, Caoimhin, Brandon, hold him off as long as you can! I'll attempt to finish him off from behind!" He then began to run around the rubble to hide from GriffEnd. By stabbing him through the exposed heart, he'll be done for good.

OOC: lolwut? did you really just claim you tried to kill him for hiding a secret you blow immediatly after?

Really?

IC: Nexev moaned. "Well that is touching and all but can we get on to the fun stuff? Like you know, not dieing? That is fun." Nexev's cross started to glow more vibrantly. "Bigger bang" Nexev muttered as the Cross broke into pieces, turning into a glowing white chimera, with a snarl the chimera lunged at GriffEnd and exploded (roll 24). Nexev sighed. "I doubt that worked but.... I needed to use it eventually right? I will miss that cross though."

The heat of the explosion was intense. As the flames slowly subsided the figure of the skeletal GriffEnd still stood; however, the force of the explosion had shattered what remained of his tail as well as fracture a couple of ribs and completely eradicate what remained of his fractured wing. Aside from that the beast still stood; however, there was something much more important about Nexev's attack ... it broke the monster's concentration. They were freed. The rangers could now move.

With the now freed body Sean swiftly ran at GriffEnd and drop kicked on of the fractured ribs so that it would shatter and puncture the beasts heart (roll: 16). The rib broke off and went straight into the monsters slimy pulsating heart. A black goo oozed from it as he collapsed to the floor. After a second or two he began to get back up and again walk towards the rangers. Sean immediately lept out of the way and rejoined the group. "It'll take all of us to stop him once and for all. Who's up next?" Sean offered the other rangers to perform an attack of their choice.

Really?

OOC: Yeah...so what's your point? I did it thinking that Akhom's rage and power would break out of Undead GriffEnd's ability and hopefully free everyone else. Wasn't exactly expecting you to do that for everyone. It's not so bad anyway, I think it'll work out for the best in the end.

IC: "Maybe I should be next to attack GriffEnd" Caoimhin answered to Sean as he got back up on his feet, he had a bit more colour to is face now after that boost of energy inside of him. "You think using fire to cremate him seems a little too easy and there's more than meets the eye?" he asked everyone as fire ignited in the palms of his hands, which also burned and sealed the cut on his right hand. "Only one way to find out." Caoimhin raised his hands towards GriffEnd and launched a stream of searing hot flames at what remained of their foe.

The flames engulfed GriffEnd like a tidal wave of fire. The fire was so intense the rangers had to cover their face from the heat. The tile floor of the mall actually started to become like a thick soupy liquid around where GriffEnd was standing. As the flames died down they could see how the fire had actually began to melt what was left of him. The arm that was just a fractured point now melted completely up to the shoulder blade. The other arm began to lose its fingers and it just looked like a lumpy miniature bone fly swatter. The fire had even melted off the lower part of his beak. But he kept staggering forward. It was hard to tell if the sight was frightening ... inspiring ... or pathetic.

Akhom, Nexev, and Brandon had yet to make their attacks, even though there certainly wasn't much left to attack though.

Brandon felt free now that GriffEND's ability was thrown off. He looked at the surroundings. Everyone was on the floor, but so was GriffEND. He took out something from his back of his pocket, the spellbook that shocked him earlier and made Caoimhin bleed. "I'm taking this one!" he yelled as he rushed towards GriffEND and kicked him into the air. He then jumped after the dead monster, spellbook clenched tight. "Here hold this! he said as he pushed it into GriffEND's spine. "Take this. KITAI!" The book started to spark and suddenly let out a huge jolt of electricity that would shocked not only GriffEND, but Brandon too since he wasn't grounded like the others, so they don't get hit. (Roll: 19)

Brandon took on some of the shock, but not as much as GriffEnd. It's body bounced off the ground like a rag doll. The impact actually shattered his left leg upon impact. It lay there for a moment, its bones still steaming from the electricity. Suddenly it rattled and it started to crawl along the ground towards the rangers again, dragging its one good leg behind it , and pulling itself forward with its one good arm. What a pathetic sight it had become.

Akhom still remain motionless. He had a serious look on his face. His eye for the moment changed color. The usually soft blue had turned into an intense gold. It was hard to tell if he was thinking ... or fuming over the revelation Caoimhin had just announced. Akhom turned his head very slowly towards Nexev. He seemed to be biting his tongue and keep his cool. "I'll give you the honor Nexev. Finish this."

Nexev cocked his head. "I kinda lost my cross so my powers are kinda minimum but...." Nexev transformed into his ranger suit. "Still got this I guess." Nexev stabbed GriffEnd head with his claw. "This might sting a little..." Nexev twisted his claw blade. "Your motion stopped Griff, the world out paced you. Now you will never move, not now, not again." Nexev pulled out the claw.

Nexev shrugged. "Oh yeah, and I stuck a bomb in you during the stab. I am such a stinker like that."

Boom.(roll 20)

"I've never seen this side of you before, Akhom. All serious and not mocking the enemy before they are defeated." Caoimhin calmly commented to Akhom as he glanced over to him. "If you are planning on killing me then at least show some honour by accepting these three conditions before and after I am murdered by you. Firstly, let me find this old guy to ask him a question about who he is. Second, you kill me on my own home island so my soul can be with those I cared for in life. And finally, you promise that you will be the one to kill Atlas for me so I can drag his soul down into the depths of Tartarus for eternity." Caoimhin no longer needing to be around the area now, started walking away from the rest of them probably going to search for the old man to ask him the question that was been lingering in his mind recently.

"Honor!" Akhom shouted in a loud voice. He didn't budge an inch. He shot Caoimhin the most threatening glare you could imagine. "The last time someone lectured me on honor ... it was while he was torturing me." Akhom then fell silent.

He walked over to the now shattered corpse of GriffEnd, hardly anything remained from Nexev's explosion. Akhom held out his hand and a shattered idol of sorts appeared. He held it in front of GriffEnd's remains and chanted an incantation of sorts. Once again, the red glow appeared around GriffEnd's destroyed remains, but instead of his remains reanimating .... a spirit form of GriffEnd appeared, much older, and yet ... calmer. It didn't say anything. Akhom then spoke. "Your loyalty was quite admiral. In the game of life, there is no wrong side. If you so choose, I offer you a chance to keep fighting ... friend." Akhom's voice was very calm now. As if he was sending his regards at someone's funeral.

The figure of GriffEnd nodded softly and flew into the shattered stone idol Akhom held. The shapeless idol then glowed bright red and turned into a brilliant gold coin, with the red outline of a Griffin. Akhom then clenched his hand together and the coin disappeared.

He said very softly (apparently to Caoimhin - he didn't look at him), "If you so desire to do so, then once you find what you're looking for ... we can settle this."

And with that Akhom turned and looked at Sean. Smiled and said, "Sean, always a pleasure."

Then to Brandon, "Brandon, always my savior it seems. One day I shall have to return the favor." He smiled again

Finally to Nexev, "If I remember correctly, you still owe me a chips and soda date." Akhom smiled and laughed slightly. "You have my number, don't be a stranger."

And with that Akhom vanished.

With this, Atlas put his head down and melded back into the steel, knowing he would have to inform the others about GriffEnd's demise.

- EPISODE #8: The Truth Behind the Truth

Sean and Brandon returned to the ranger base to inform Zedren about the good news. "Yes!!!!!!!" Zedren shouted joyously. "Excellent job rangers. Job very well done. You see, this is teamwork. All of you, Nexev and Akhom included brought down this beast. Truly this was as great a team up as I'd ever seen. Get some rest rangers, you deserve it."

OoC: Okay, DNova, I can handle being Sean for the most part, until the little "plan" we have I think in this episode? Or the next? I lost track months ago. Anyway, there are still a few "steps" until it's known what I was talking about. You should know DNova.

Sean sighed very deeply at the sign of relief, that he can rest easy for the moment. He then walked outside and looked at the sun setting on the horizon. I am glad I didn't overdo it in that battle. I would've killed myself doing it. He thought. He then looked at his spear and wondered. How exactly would Sean get his powers back, or even know what to do in order for that to happen? He was puzzled, yet he understood why all of this had happened. Fate. It was Fate that brought Sean to the ultimate demise of his original powers. And it was Fate that caused MeteorKnight to intervene with his mission: to destroy Gargantia once and for all. But he knew that with his old powers, it was impossible. Even his Emerald powers weren't even close to be enough to destroy him. If Akhom can promise him a new power, he will make sure he will use it to his full potential to end him.

Soon, Tetrarchs, you will all pay for your intervention of my mission...

Legion didn't take some things well, the death of his brother, and then a forced betrayal. It was a little too much on him. Currently, he was sitting on a floating rock in his void, his arms were clenched around his knees. He had been mourning for a while, until, all his sadness ran out. And, if you leave the sadness running too long, you eventually get rage and anger. He warped away.

To the ranger base, he was in the zoid hanger. Drawing out his scythe, he went ape-s**t crazy, swining wildly and unleashing waves of energy. He was occasionally shouting 'GRIFFEND!'

(OoC: let's try something a little different)

"Well, well." a new voice said. "I'm guessing you're Legion." A figure walked out from the the bushes. He had long brown and blonde hair. Looked kind of like a surfer or rock star. He then revealed his morpher. "Let's Rock It" He shouted. He then pressed 3 buttons on his morpher which spoke their names "3-3-5" He then morphed into a red ranger form. "The name's Andros, I'm the Red Space Ranger. Is there anything I can help you with?" He asked in a firm, yet polite tone.

Legion hadn't even noticed Andross, continuing his destructive impulses until the red ranger morphed. Sadly, Legion was too outraged at this point to care for his own safety. Naturally, he went straight for the red ranger, his scythe swinging wildly in the red ranger's direction. 'GRIFFEND!' he shouted again; now obviously he was mad about something, but, for the life of me I can't figure it out. Oh yeah, you might wanna dodge that red ranger.

Andros somersaulted backward, just missing the blade. He rolled along the ground and then when he stopped he pulled his communicator up to his face. "Zedren, I need some ..." Just as he was about to say the word help, a stone hand reached out of the ground and a voice said "No need for that."

Suddenly the figure of Atlas emerged from the ground. He turned his head slightly and said "You might wish to back away a little."

Andros was taken back and did as the former-Titan commanded. Atlas turned to Legion with his usual faceless expression - due to the mask. "Brother, this won't bring GriffEnd back. And you mustn't break your existing deal with the rangers. Our Master wishes an audience."

OOC: Awww, I wanted to do that, 'thing', maybe later. This seemed like a good opportunity.

Legion was fuming still, a dark aura was become more and more prominent on him as his breathing became more, enraged. It was growing thicker until it was covering him. 'RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!' he roared, unleashing a powerful wave of dark energy and wind, scattering everything and breaking many panes of glass in the base. In the aftermatch, Legion seemed okay, but was leaning on his scythe. 'Consider yourself lucky Atlas, you've had a lifetime to get used to emotions' he remarked and vanished for that audience with Vile.

OoC: awwww, i didn't know. But it's for the better, Akhom wouldn't have been able to get there ... so it would of been a flat out massacre.

Andros immediately demorphed. He breathed deeply for a minute or two. He then contacted Zedren to call off the alarm. All was fine. But they would need a clean up crew.

---------------------

Meanwhile, in Vile's lair, the remaining Tetrarchs had assembled. There was a candle lit for GriffEnd.

"My children, it is hard to see one of us go. But let GriffEnd's sacrifice be a lesson to us. Do not take these ranger likely. As this last encounter showed. They were on the ropes, but apparently Loki's ranger and Akhom have decided to work with them. As such, we are officially adding them to the list." Vile then turned to MeteorKnight, "But our brothers death isn't the only source of disturbing news, is it?"

MeteorKnight remained motionless. "I've investigated this 'newcomer' you spoke of earlier. Unfortunately, there was not much of a trail to follow, even for someone with my abilities. It seems as though he is only found when he wants to be. Otherwise he is very adept at masking his powers."

Vile looked disheartened.

"However, I did learn some things about 'it'." He used the term lightly.

At this point Vile cheered up, "Aha! Excellent. I knew you would be the best one for the job. What have you discovered?"

MeteorKnight continued, his eyes flashing regularly. "Well at first i believed this anomaly to be Akhom; however, it is not. The power readings - no matter how scarce - were on completely different wavelengths. Also ... there seems to be a temporal distortion with this one."

Vile's ears perked up. "Excuse me?" He inquired

"Yes Master. This power was completely different than any i'd been given record of before. The basic qualities were completely reversed. My estimate is that this entity is from a different time, or dimension. Either way, something is very off."

"An interdimenional being you say. Sounds quite interesting. It looks as though we might have found our elusive Deos. But let's not jump to conclusions." Vile said

"I would never Master. It is not in my programing." MeteorKnight responded.

"Good, good. Continue with that, and once you've gotten some more headway ... pass the info along to Legion, and you'll take over for GriffEnd." He paused. "And annihilate the rangers. Hunt them down as mercilessly as you hunted down Gargantia."

MeteorKnight nodded in agreement.

"Well then, any other matters to attend to or care or concerns. Speak now, this is an open forum." Vile invited

-------------------

Meanwhile, trouble loomed in the demon world. A couple of spirits had gone to Queen Bansheras cave - as they did every day - to mock her. As they approached, they thought something was off due to the silence. She was always screaming ... this was odd. As they got to the cave, they saw that the binds were shattered. Near them, the smelled demon rot (the smell of a demon after it'd been killed). They then saw claw marks on the ground. But wait ... they were dragged. These claw marks were a demons last efforts to escape something ... but what.

drip

suddenly a drop of something hit the lead demon on the head. 'What was that?' he wondered as he whipped the droplet off of him. It was black goo, demon blood. He looked back to warn his crew, but they were gone. He looked all around the cave and saw nothing. Suddenly

drip

There was another drop, this time he looked up ... and saw the mangled body of one of his crew members being ... digested? He was in shock and fell to the ground. He suddenly heard a familiar voice ... 'why hello there'. And that was the last thing he ever heard.

OoC: Wait, wait, wait! Where the hell did Andros appear from? I thought he would've been in another star system or something, or busy. And WHERE'S TOMMY!?

Sean ended up sensing something familiar. Darkness and Pure Rage. He thought it was only him that was able to obtain such a power. But he now knew exactly where he got it from; the one who gave him this power in the first place and could possibly have came from: Legion. Running back into the base, Sean begins to follow the scent he once had on him into the Zord Hanger. Seeing what Legion is doing, he shouts, "ENOUGH OF THIS!!" Sean then summoned his spear as he slowly walked up to Legion, who's dark aura felt stronger as he got closer, but he shrugged it off and gave him an evil look. "Has your anger blinded you!? If you believe that you can avenge GriffEnd, it's your attempt to kill yourself in the process!" Sean then made a stance. "You want to know power, I'll show you power!" Suddenly, an aura began to form around him. It wasn't orange, but red. What's going on? he thought. This power was strange, yet familiar; as though he had fought somebody before who had this power.

OoC: I'm wingin' it, just to let you know. And I hope it works with what DNova has in mind.
