"Hey Akhom, what are you doing up here?" Caoimhin asked as he sat next to him on the tree. "Doesn't matter. You were probably just thinking about how to annoy the rest of us while you are here. Anyway, you know when you mentioned that you and young Joseph seem to share some thoughts about things. I was just wondering if you want to help get Izabel from Legion seeing as you might be feeling young Joseph's love for her as well. So...wanna see if we can get her back?...It means you get to annoy Smokey for me while I get Izabel and Auric out of their prison."

Loki looked at Nexev on the ground and rolled his eyes. "Stand up." He commanded as he walked deeper into the cave. He thought to himself. 'I'm surrounded by idiots, Loptr, Nexev, Ralis, they all soo quickly are losing their novelty.'

As he walked off, a note fluttered down before Nexev's face. It read:

This universe seems most interesting. And my counterpart ... most peculiar.

I shall do some digging my old friend. In the meantime, let's keep this our

little secret. Should you need me, you know how to reach me.

- L

the letter then disintegrated once Nexev read it.

Back at the Omega base, Zedren heard Brandon's message. "Let's hold off an hour or so on that Brandon. I'm making some headway into these files Diabolico gave me. They're most intriguing. I'll brief everyone once I finish. And then we can test the zords' improved capacity.

Back in the garden area, Sean was taking a little nap to replenish his strength. Without his ranger powers, fighting took more out of him.

Akhom was startled by Caoimhin's words as he fell out of the tree and hit the ground. As he rubbed his head he pondered. He was expecting Caoimhin to poke more about his past or other info such as that. "Hmmm ... Izabel? The cute chick from before right. Hmmmm. Mess with smokey, work with you guys, and get her back. That does sound promising ... but there's only one slight complication with that."

"What's the complication?" asked Caoimhin and leapt off the tree, landing beside Akhom and already pondering on what the problem was. "I know Legion is a pain but you've got that quick movement ability to stall him in the meantime and Izabel and Auric would be more than willing to escape whatever they are imprisoned in. Zedren, Andros and the others should have the teleporters up and running again for when we do the plan and the other rangers should be able to at least hold off the other Tetrarchs for a good enough amount of time. Can't see Loki and his group jumping in on the scene but if they did it would only serve to distract the Tetrarchs even more. I can't think of anything to do with the actual escape plan going wrong." Caoimhin continued to figure out what the complication was.

"Aha" Caoimhin finally said after a couple of minutes and moved very close to Akhom, grinning a little at the thought he had. "You're falling in love with Izabel, without the help of young Joseph's feelings, aren't you?"

Legion naturally reappeared in Izabel's room. 'Things are beginning to take a downwards turn' he said to her. He was leaning on the wall and not looking in any particular direction. Perhaps the existance of Akhom was putting him on edge, which was new to him. He sighed loudly and looked to the roof, not seeming to be able to stand still. 'I'm guessing you saw didn't you? Curiosity is one of the most interesting parts of humanity, it must be rubbing off on me' he commented before finally looking at her.

Izabel still had a solid look on her face. But was it sad or determined. She stood up and walked towards the far wall as if there were a window there to look out of. "To answer your question, no. I haven't looked at the mirror since we got back." She paused and turned to face Legion. "Aside from curiosity, honor is something we humans also have. If Joe is gone, he's gone. This doppelganger embodiment shouldn't be a reflection of him. If he truly is gone, then I choose to remember him as he was."

----------------

Akhom blushed and turned away from Caoimhin with an upset look. "Maybe you're falling in love with Izabel, without the help of young Joseph's feelings .... AHHH that made no sense." He scratched his head with both hands in a furry. He then jumped up and recomposed himself. He regained that devious look on his face.

"The bigger issue here is the complication. I don't mean it wouldn't work. It would work quite well actually, save for one thing .... I'm not much of a team player." He then raised a hand at Caoimhin and then turned it slowly to the nearest wall. A dim golden light emerged from his hand and then brightened until it shot forward and blasted a hole in the side of the base. Caoimhin then ran outside and quickly stopped and turned around, bent over, pulled his check down and stuck his tongue out at Caoimhin before vanishing.

Suddenly ... a small letter floated down and landed in Caoimhin's hand. It was made of a very old style paper, the kind Caoimihn used to write on when he was young. It read:

Dear Guardian Boy,

To preempt your first remark, NO. I didn't break our agreement. We agreed that I wouldn't use my teleportation to 'leave your side'. And I didn't. I blew up a wall to 'leave your side'. And then I used my teleportation skill, but I was already away from your side. ERGO - I am still a man ... uh ... demon ... uh ... being of my word. Keep in touch.

- Akhom

PS: Rapid close ranger teleportation, energy blasts, Genesis Reign, and Death Touch. Congrats, you now know all 4 of my abilities - remember I mentioned this earlier. And you've seen 3 out of 4 of them. Double Congrats.

Back in Zedren's office he felt the blast as he finished reading another on of the packets of info. "Now what in the world is going on?" he wondered

Legion let out a self-satisfied laugh. 'It seems not even the ancient one can keep reins on our latest problem' he commented. 'But; I understand honour my dear. I have kept my word to not harm the rangers until Deos is destroyed. However, that does not apply to their enemies who, let us just say, got in the way of important business and were removed. It is quite sad though that they're just down to two rangers now, Sean is nothing to be worried about, although, he never was' Legion said and laughed. 'Although, since the rangers do not control him, you might expect the doppelganger to visit you; but he can hardly be called that, ciao' he said and vanished.

"Oh well...I'll just have to go after him later. He not that hard to find he's got quite a unique energy waves that make it pretty simple to sense and teleport to. Might as well go to Zedren and tell him about this." Caoimhin thought and headed to Zedren's office. "Not a team player...I already knew that and that's why I left him alone to irritate Smokey for the rest of us."

Izabel remained silent. What was she thinking?

--------

Meanwhile, Sean followed Caoimhin from the garden back to Zedren's office. Brandon as well was heading there. Zedren had informed them that he had learned some important information.

So many question again to be answered. What has Zedren learned about the situation from the Demon Codex? Will Akhom ever pick one side? What is Izabel so determined about? And what will Loki do next in his rage. All this and more will be answered in the following episodes on Omega Force.

EPISODE # 5 CLOSE

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Episode #6: Hope Reborn

Zedren welcomed the rangers into his office. On his desk were 3 huge stacks of paper. Each one over 50 pages of stats, info, and translations. "I've learned some pretty shocking truths from this material Diabolico gave me; however, first off let me hear from all of you. And where's Akhom?" he asked "I believe I've learned some things about his past: some he'd like to hear, and well ... others he probably wouldn't like to be reminded of."

"Akhom thinks he's found a loophole in our agreement so he's somewhere in the city. I can get him back to the base if it bothers you that much." Caoimhin answered to Zedren in a calm, relaxed tone even though he knew of Akhom's capabilities...well...3 out of 4 of them. "Anyway, what kind of information did you manage to decipher about his past? Anything that may be of some use to get young Joseph back?"

Zedren took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. The rapid reading had given him a slight headache. He took an aspirin and a glass of water and reclined back in his chair as he motioned for the rangers to take a seat. "Well he is certainly an agent of chaos, but we've already seen that. There are references to past deities as well as former demons of mention. I originally figured he'd be connected with the more shady historic character, but quite the opposite. There's talk of him being quite close to the Egyptian being Osiris as well as Odin in Norse history. They described him as a handful but quite a remarkable individual. The picture painted is that he is a very chaotic and playful fellow, but he seems overall to be neutral. He takes a liking to certain individuals, rather than a specific side. There wasn't much more on this topic. All there was was a few testimonies from Odin and Osiris themselves, but otherwise nothing much. No specific interactions were referenced. And Diabolico wasn't one of the "trusted few" Akhom took a liking to."

Zedren looked at Diabolico and smirked. Diabolico seemed ashamed about something, but he remained quiet. Zedren then continued, "I assume if we want that info we'll have to speak to Akhom directly. Beyond that I researched those 2 abilities that Brandon mentioned before. He apparently has 2 others, though not of the same caliber. The most striking ability is the so called "Death Touch". Sadly I got no info on that. Apparently, anyone who ever witnessed it .... died. On the bright side, I got a little more info on his other ability of notice - Genesis Reign. It apparently says that he can control that which doesn't exist." He paused. "I have no idea what that means, but hey it's a start. Any questions thus far?" He looked towards the rangers to give them a chance to speak their mind and ask questions.

Caoimhin began to think about the Genesis Reign ability. "That is something i'm unfamiliar with but for some reason it feels like it's a power Deos might have as well which could become an advantage to us. Either with Akhom's help against it or just understanding it's potential in battle." Caoimhin was starting to become aware of Akhom's real power and couldn't help but think Akhom wasn't taking their last fight seriously which meant he wasn't using his full strength. This only served to demoralize Caoimhin even though he showed a calm demeanour in front of the group. "Any sign of the other rangers coming back to help us yet?"

Zedren frowned. "Sadly, not yet. I began to speak with Andros and some of the others. They might be able to lend a hand, but we'll have to see. We must focus on keeping the three of you safe right now. Speaking of which, Caoimhin, are you planning on going after Akhom. If so ... I wouldn't mention anything about you getting your powers from Hades."

At this moment, Diabolico dropped the books he was putting back on the shelf and immediately began waving at Caoimihn. "No, no no. You mustn't let him know that. In fact, don't even mention anyone even remotely connected to Greek mythos. Olympian or Titan." Diabolico looked real startled and concerned for Caoimhin.

Caoimhin was a bit confused by Zedren's and Diabolico's warnings. He did remember Akhom mumble something with Hades in the sentence one time but didn't understand what he was talking about at that moment. "Why shouldn't I say I got my powers from Hades? I've already asked him about Atlas before now which he didn't seem to know who I was asking him about. Could have been one of the false acts of stupidity but I wasn't too concerned to press on with the subject. I'm guessing Hades punished Akhom in some way."

Zedren reclined in his chair and folded his hands together, "Well I'd tell you, but i feel Akhom could give you the full story better. But we'll settle for second best ..."He turned "Diabolico?"

Diabolico dropped his head. "I hate to be the one to tell you this but ... remember how Akhom had said he hated Queen Banshera. Well Hades was connected to that as well. You see ... Queen Banshera feared Akhom. He was a free agent. All the other demons and beings could be bought off or threatened, but Akhom wanted nothing. There was nothing he feared losing. He was the ultimate obstacle. Now some demons and beings just catered to him and fake respected him. He paid them no attention, in fact he enjoyed humiliating them. Very rarely was there someone he legitimately respected - two of which were Odin and Osiris - as Zedren mentioned before." He paused for a moment to get back on track.

"Anyway, Queen Banshera tried to suck up to Akhom and buy him off, she was desperate. Just as the others, he mocked her and constantly played tricks on her. He once even tricked her into going on a wild goose chase with ended in about half of her demon hoards being killed." He paused for a second. "Lower level trash. But still, the death of over 700 of her soldiers is really extreme for what he called a 'harmless prank'. " He let that sink in.

"Anyway, she was beyond annoyed so she devised a plan with her ... ummm ... 'significant other'.

Zedren spit out his water, "What? I thought she just hired him!."

Diabolico nodded in disagreement. "Nope. Queen Bashera and Hades were an ... item. Anyway, she enlisted him to ensnare Akhom. I'm not exactly sure what they did to him. But I'm sure it was harsh and painful. And that's the last we ever heard of him. So it's safe to assume that he was imprisoned into that weapon thanks to them."

Caoimhin thought about everything Diabolico had spoken about and eventually came to one conclusion. "I must see Queen Banshera somehow" he said in a serious tone and looked at Zedren who probably didn't like the idea. "If she and Hades had figured out how to seal him in that weaponthen maybe Queen Banshera could help me, a warrior of Hades, to put an end to his dangerous pranks. I know Queen Banshera is in the Shadow World but Diabolico must know of a way to enter such a world. It might be foolish to enter that world but there's not many options for us when it comes to being able to subdue Akhom."

"Trust me Caoimihn," Diabolico began "Queen Banshera is NOT to be trusted. She has no regard to allegiance or honor. She's stabbed cohorts in the back more than once. In fact, she eventually even stabbed Habes in the back. Made Zeus think that he acted alone in his attack on Akhom. Said he was going after anyone who threatened him. Zeus figured he'd be next. He also knew Akhom's ties to other leader gods and saw Hades actions as a possible start of war."

He waited a second. "And even if she would help, it was more because of Hades skills that he was captured. And I doubt Akhom would fall for the same trick again."

--------------------

Meanwhile back in the city, the streets were quiet as people went along with their business as usual. Suddenly, a figure materialized leaping upward, as if jumping out from the sewers. It then fully materialized into a human form. Long white hair, noticeable tattoos .... Akhom. He walked around looking up at all the tall buildings. He felt like a kid in a candy store. Everything looked so interesting and new. He'd never seen anything like this. As he walked down the street so people looked at him weirdly. A little kid wanted to tug on his robe but the child's mother pulled him away and told the kid to stay away from that freak.

Akhom's ears perked up at that word. He smiled, 'Haven't been called that in a while' he said.He came to a corner and saw a sign that showed a little glowing white man walking. It then changed into a red little man with an x through it. "Hmph" he said "No one tell me when i can and cannot walk." He walked through the crowd and began to cross the street. He knew what these signs meant that to the part of him that was Joe. As he walked he could hear the people behind him yelling 'stop' and 'get out of the road'. All of a sudden he heard a screech.

An SUV came speeding through the cross walk. The driver screamed in horror. He finally came to a halt and looked out his rear view mirror to see the poor soul he had hit. But there was no one there. All of a sudden a hand appeared on the front hood of the car. Then a second. Until finally the strange man was crouched on top of the hood like a dog. "HEY. Watch where you are going!" Akhom shouted. "You could kill someone like that." He yelled angrily. "Luckily for you I'm not 'somebody'." Akhom than began to laugh. The driver was horrified even more. How was this strange man still alive. How did he not even have a scratch on him.

Akhom then lept off the car and waved the driver away. The car began to driver away at a crawl. The driver was still shaking as he placed his coffee cup to the side. 'Won't need that anymore' he thought to himself.

As Akhom continued to walk down the street, a significant crowd of spectators started to form. Some still acted in fear and tried to keep their distance while watching him. Others were interested. Akhom caught a group of well dressed women staring at him with smiles on their faces. As he passed he overheard one of them say "I wish my boyfriend could do that." The others then agreed with her sentiment. Akhom obviously heard all this and turned to the group of women and said "I apologize for that." One of the women in the group said, "Apologize for what? That was amazing what happened back there. You certainly are very impressive."

Akhom laughed openly. "Well thank you very much." He smiled. "But I was actually expressing my sorrow in you all having boyfriends." All of the women blushed. "Not that they could stop me or anything" he said as he walked away. The girls continued to look after him and giggled and blushed some more.

"I think I'm going to like this place" Akhom declared.

Nexev flipped Loki the bird. "If you want to switch memories, be my guest whenever." He got up from the ground and dusted off his pants. He then took out the letter he got and read it, smiling inwardly. "Ahhhh yes, he was always a good friend, even when we weren't on the same side." With a lack of better things to do, Nexev teleported to Arkhom's location and tossed him a pepsi. "Yo God thing, how's it hanging?" Nexev inquired, "Some random crap happened on my side so I decided to take a breather. Luckily for me, you happen to be extremly obvious, so you saved me allot of time I would have had to have wasted being productive and looking for you."

'What a coincidence' Legion said as he formed a few feet away from Akhom. His appearance frightened most of the people. 'Scatter' he commanded in a harsh voice. The humans did just that, fleeing for their miserable little lives. 'It seems platime has begun, be sure to play nicely witht he other children' Broodwing stated. 'Be quiet, this is serious' Legion replied back. He turned his focus onto Akhom. 'It seems your existance so far is a cause for great concern, which is a pity because that was my job' Legion stated.

Akhom looked at his two new guests. He sniffed the can of pepsi. Instead of pop the top, he used one of his finger nails to puncture the top. He was amused by the taste. This must of been something Joe liked as well. Or did he like the new taste. It was getting hard to tell what was his mind and what he got from Joe.

"Looks like I'm quite the popular guy." He turned to Nexev, "I remember you, you brought those beasts with you last time. They were fun, and actually had my back - which is rare." He then turned to look at Legion. "SMOKEY!!!!!!!!!!" He giggled a bit. "So how do you guys like the new appearance? Or ... old appearance? hmm." He sat down on a table. "New for Joe, regular for me? ANYway, how do you like it?" He was enjoying the company.

"So even the mighty Zeus knew of Hades' and Queen actions. Maybe if I could speak to him somehow, I could get the answers that way." thought Caoimhin. "I just need to know the basics of the capture and sealing of Akhom then we could figure out a new way to get rid of him once and for all. I just need your help in whichever way we decide is the best route to go and get the answers. I wish I could speak with Hades but he's never answered my prayers before now."

Nexev paled at the sight of Legion. "I think I'm gonna be sick." He muttered under his breath. He then turned to Arkhom and shrugged "Eh, it's decent I guess. Though you should probably get some new threads. Would be kinda smelly wearing the same outfit for awhile." Nexev then pointed towards Legion. "By the way, he's a bit of a giant a******. So be careful around him. Anyway I have to go do a thing I guess. Later!" Nexev said, teleporting away to a forest far away. He then proceeded to vomit.

OOC: Nexev is sort of deeply afraid of Legion after what he said. Basically looking at Legion causes him to go through a minor version of what he went through during their fight. Which is not exactly fear I guess but whatever. As such Nexev doesn't stay around Legion for any length of time if he can help it.

Akhom looked saddened. "Awww, he was interesting. Why'd he have to go?" He then perked up "Oh well, it doesn't matter. i have all the time in the world now. I'll talk to him later on. And I'll have to thank him for this drink." He then took another long sip. He was thoroughly enjoying these new yet familiar tastes. He then turned back to Legion "So what's up Smokey? Did you just want to scare him away or did you want something?"

Legion raised his hands and shrugged; this movement taking attentio away from his two shadows, which were stealthily sneaking intot he ground behind his back. 'I came here to deal with you specifically; causing Nexev to be physically sick is just a bonus for me' Legion replied, thoroughly enjoying the view in his mind's eye. 'Fashion has little affect on me, yet. Though, if you wore a frilly pink dress even I would have to laugh at that' he sighed, answering each question in turn. 'Now then' Legion said as the two shadows grabbed Akhom's feet, rotting him in place. 'You have something I want, and it will cost your life to give it to me'.

Akhom was surprised by the sudden attack. He didn't even see it coming. He almost fell over from the loss of balance, but he was fine. He quickly composed himself. "Geez, what did I do to you?" He saw Legion meant business. "Okay, okay okay. But can i have a last request of sorts. 2 question. Answer these and you can have my life. Sounds fair right?" He tried to reason with Legion.

"Question 1, might I ask what it is I have that you want? You know, aside from a face." He immediately threw his hands up "Kidding, just kidding." He laughed a bit. "But seriously, answer that question. Maybe I can help you. And after you answer that, I'll ask my second. They're kind of unrelated so I don't want to group them." He offered.

--------------------

Back at the ranger base, Zedren looked intrigued by something. "The other interesting fact is that ... it's very hard to see where Joe stops and Akhom starts. It seems as though they are a fusion of the two, yet according to Diabolico, Akhom was always like this. Yet Joseph and Akhom have equal parts. It's very strange. I have no idea what it could be. Anyway, what else would you guys like to know."

Legion didn't respond, his two shadows rooting Akhom became sharper, digging into the demon's ankles. 'What I want and what it will cost you is exactly the same. No amount of trickery and sweet words will change my resolve. I may not know what you will do, but I can see others actions. Even as someone speaks it I know your history Akhom, and I can use it against you. A selfish being like yourself wouldn't choose a side unless it interested him, and once he gets bored, he moves on. I have no time for games, and you're out of quarters' Legion stated, his joke as blunt as a mallet.
