Nexev emerged next to the mysterious figure, wearing a huge grin on his face. "Loptr, long time no see. How have you been?" Nexev inquired to his old master. "This realm is pretty interesting, Joe got the Genesis Blade, I have the Emerald Elephant spirit for a partner, and Vile is trying to use the Tetrachs to control the world. It's quite silly." Nexev paused for a moment. "Why exactly did you come here anyway? Is there trouble or something?" Nexev started to become worried "Is some wannabe hero trying to take over again? Maybe I shouldn't have gone to this universe in the first place. Crap." Nexev was getting quite upset, while his universe was reletivly peaceful and happy, a wannabe hero always tried to ruin it. It was one of Nexev's jobs to stop them, without him there he had no idea if he was needed there or not.

Brandon walked away, after seeing a glance of Joe's body. Instead of going to his room, he decided to go into Zedren's library. Not alot of the rangers were given access to all of its contents, but he had a thought about something. Since he relied on speed when he fights, why not use it as strength as well. He also thought on what made the acient technology what it was. He had an idea on what the books were, but they were beyond his accomadation. He hoped Zedren didn't see him or sense him take the books. They were really old and weathered since they were made possibly hundreds of years ago. He sat on the main desk of the library and opened the first book, which had the megazord summarys as well as their main perfromance. He scanned through the megazords of the past generations and studied how their systems work. "I get it now. The system really is unique to anything I've ever seen." he said to himself. "But if this is how it works. How come they need so many designs to keep up with it. I'll have to discuss this with Zedren later tonight. I hope he won't be too mad at me." he closed the book and placed it back in its spot to read the second one.

Legion placed the vase on the desk and observed the mirror. 'It is hard, sad really. If you think I'm being insensitive about the matter I'm not. Joseph was a good rival, even for the short duration we shared a rivalry, even if he wouldn't admit it' he commented, trying to force conversation. 'Smooth moves lover boy, maybe you should try to be a little bit more subtle, considering her boyfriend is, let's see, dead' Broodwing stated. Legion dipped his hood, but raised it again with his new idea. 'Do you want to see him?' Legion inquired.

Izabel immediately ran towards Legion. It looked as though she would either hug him ... or punch him. "If this is a joke, I swear to God I will rip you apart. But" she swallowed her pride " ... if you are telling the truth. Please. Please, let me see him." She begged with tears in her eyes.

Auric walked up behind her and looked at Legion, "You best not fool with the ladies heart. If it is what she desires," Auric knelt down "Auric entreats you. Please, grant her this request."

Back at the ranger base, Zedren was starting to analyze the battle footage. Some of it made sense, and he could see some possible options they could try in the next confrontation. However, some of it didn't make sense yet. As Zedren pondered he thought about how lucky he was that Sean was back to normal, even without powers, he was still a good warrior. He also was thankful for Brandon's return, as well as his new suit. But ... how did he get that suit. He thought for a moment. Where did he get that suit from, he couldn't just make it from scratch. Not with the technology from the future. And even if he could ... why didn't Deos destroy them? Unless ... the suit wasn't made in the future. But was actually an honest to God true ranger power. Very interesting. Soo many questions, soo little time - and now, with one less ranger. He sighed and went back to work, the rangers depended on it.

Meanwhile, back on the beach, Ecliptor watched over Dom's impaled sword. He'd been there for a few hours now and was about to switch shifts with Diabolico. He had heard the news of Joe and felt remorse. However, he was a warrior. He couldn't let that affect his ability to protect the blade. It was Joseph's last request. He couldn't let him or Dom down.

As he sat their, a figure watched him from the shadows. Ecliptor noticed him immediately. "I could hear you from a mile away. Show yourself." At that moment the figure stepped out. He had on rusted copper and silver armor. Fierce-some gauntlets were worn on each hand. The emblem of a Cerberus was emblazoned on his chest. Ecliptor let out a sigh of relief, "Oh, Caoimhin. It's only you. Don't scare me like that."

The figure didn't respond. He just looked at Ecliptor, then the sword, then back at Ecliptor.

Something was wrong. Ecliptor drew his sword and pointed it at the figure. "Wait a second, I remember the rangers telling me about someone assuming one of their forms. You're ... you're Deos!"

The figure blasted Ecliptor and sent him flying back. He got back on his feet quickly. As the smoke cleared, the figure was gone. 'Just what we need' Ecliptor thought.

Back in Loki's lair, Loptr was happy to see Nexev. "I'm quite well my friend. And don't worry, no trouble at all on my end. Though here ... i figured I'd spice things up a little bit."

Just then Lok walked in. They embraced and traded their usual compliments. "So my ... self. God, I'll never get use to that. haha." Loki said "Loptr, what brings you here."

Loptr smiled, "To cause some chaos, as I was just telling my good friend here. Oh, and to give you a gift ... but I'll give you that later."

"Then what took you soo long" Loki remarked.

"You see ... I took some trips across dimensions," Loptr began "and time hopped a bit as well. I saw the future. Not fun, not fun at all. Apparently in this time line ... Joseph is killed by the Blade."

"Yes, I know." Loki remarked. "You are a little late there."

Loptr shook his finger. "Never. Not on my watch. "That's what would have happened, BUT ... I gave one of the future rangers a little gift. From you actually." He looked at Nexev. "You see, your drawings came into good use. I took one of the designs that you made ... or rather ... will make ... and made it reality. I then gave it to the lad and opened a dimensional portal for him to get back here."

"Messing with the time space continuum? God I do love you Loptr." Loki shouted with glee.

"Oh, it's gets better." Loptr assured them. "You see ... I did a bit of research. Joe gets killed by the rangers trying to remove the blade - at least thats what the archives in the future say. So ... if the future ranger is here now, he'll try to avert that right. So he'll stop them from removing the blade. Right now the rangers are mourning the loss of their friend. And Vile is celebrating. But ... oh ho ho ... Vile's going to be sooo upset. And ... we might get another friend."

Loki looked confused. "Really?"

Loptr addressed them all but looked at Nexev, "Apparently the Blade - as well as other things in this time - are a little different from the one in ours. There is something .... hidden ... about this blade. Malevolent. Chaotic. Demonic. Aquatic. Well .... okay, I'm lying about the last one. I needed another word that ended in 'ic'" He laughed for a moment. "But as far as the chaotic and stuff ... i'm telling the truth."

Loki smiled, "Well then, it seems as though the balance of power is about to shift - as well as some allegiances."

Loptr smiled in return and laughed a bit, "If you're expecting a shift in the balance of power now, just wait until i give you your present." He then smiled even more, "And as far as a shift in allegiances ... we shall see indeed."

Loki continued to smile, "Things are finally starting to get interesting."

Meanwhile back in the medical room of the base, Joe's body was still. The machines were still attached but all showed no signs of life. Suddenly ... ever so slightly. It appeared as thought his pinky flinched. The machines show no life ... but the body is telling a different story.

EPISODE 5: Let Chaos Reign

A few hours had passed, it was now late in the evening. Zedren was still in the control room analyzing the data. Diabolico and Ecliptor has switched shifts guarding Dom's sword. Ecliptor had informed Zedren about his encounter with Deos , and as well advised Diabolico to stay on guard. Joe's body still laid motionless in the medical bay.

-------------

Meanwhile, back on the beach (a couple miles away from Diabolico and the sword) ... Caoimhin was still waiting for Atlas. A lone couple strolled along the beach. The call of a few seagulls broke the silence of the night. The crashing waves relaxed the guardians mind. A light breeze blew some of the sand around. Instead of falling to the ground though, the sand started to pile up into two small pillars, they then combined into one pillar. Two protruding pillars then emerged from the concoction. Caoimhin realized that the sand was forming a body, but not just any body - Atlas's body.

His armor looked almost black under the night sky. The gold highlights only slightly illuminated under the moonlight. The red of his visor looked more brownish, but was still slightly visible. He was still "I apologize for the delay." He offered

Caoimhin stood up and brushed the sand off his pants before walking closer to Atlas. "You know he would die and that's why you wasn't concerned about young Joseph with the Genesis Blade. I always knew you was a monster even before Vile made you this way. You are a weak pathetic Titan and i'll never understand why you was the leader of the Titans in that battle with the Olympians but I swear i'll be stronger than them and crush you with my own bare hands!" Caoimhin anger rose with each word he spoke then morphed in an eruption of searing hot fire. "This time...I'll make sure a Tetrarch dies!" Caoimhin ran at Atlas, the rings around his arms expanded slightly making them looser on his arms. Caoimhin struck Atlas' chest with both fists, the rings shot forward towards his fists causing them to create a strong percussion force into Atlas' armor.

Legion was unfamiliar with this reaction from Izabel nor Auric; a begging, almost pleading stance. 'I will honour your request Izabel' he replied and summoned a dark portal for them to venture. 'But I warn you, what is on the other side may not be what you want to see. Now that this is your choice; and a person's choice is what they must live with, be it the right one, or bad' he preached as they entered the portal.

The portal opened up in the medical bay, both Legion and Izabel steeping out of it. He raised his arm to Joseph's body. 'Here is the one you desire. It is a pity, I wanted to be the one to end him in an all out battle. Pity his own tool did it first' he commented with actual remorse.

Nexev arched his eyebrows "Really? That explains a bit. Though why one of my designs? You know what they can do." Nexev shrugs "Oh well, makes things more interesting. Anyway so let's get down to business. What do we have to arm ourselves, what do we do about Joe, and most of all, how to get rid of the goddamn bird thing. Atlas will be easy enough, it will just take a spell or two." Nexev was a bit worried, GriffEND was an idiot true but Legion looked like he might actually be a threat.

Loptr had materialized a cup of tea, which he was now sipping. "True. These Tetrarchs are much different than ours. Apparently ... according to the future .... GriffEnd kills them all. Too much time passes and he gets too strong. But then ..." he shivered "rather not go into that. Anyway ... as far as Joe, let's see what happens. I've altered history so no idea how this will turn out. But there is one thing I got for you all." He turned to Loki "I give you ... a self sufficient army." He then snapped his fingers and then suddenly footsteps were heard.

A lone figure of a woman appeared. She was absolutely beautiful, with long red hair. She was emblazoned with golden armor with a long red cape. On it were several medallion like insignias in different colors. One glowed a harsh black, and had the insignia of a wolf on it. Another glowed green and held them image of an elephant. The additional medallions held various other creatures in gold, purple, and silver auras with the images of a sea creature, pegasus and a chimera of sorts.

"Allow me to introduce you to one of my most faithful legion of subjects ... a Valkeerie."

-----------------

Meanwhile at the beach, Atlas didn't even try to dodge Caoimhin's attack. The initial hit of the gauntlets was decent, but the additional repercussion made it a vicious attack. Atlas flew backwards about 10 feet, leaving a trail in the sand. He remained on his feet and looked at his chest plate. It had a crack running through it. He laughed lightly. "Impressive, quite impressive. Your power has grown since the last time we fought. Sadly .... it is still not enough. Allow me to put you to your first trial - at 1/3 strength. "

Atlas stomped on the ground causing a massive wave of sand to stare down at Caoimhin, just before it struck him, it dissipated. As Caoimhin was confused as to why the attack disintegrated, he was struck from behind from the same wave - which had reformed to take advantage of his blind spot.

Back at the medical bay, Izabel was saddened at the sight. She walked over to Joe. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She didn't want to believe it. She rested her head by the side of the bed. She couldn't hold back the crying. "It's not fair. It's NOT FAIR." she kept sobbing.

It was silent at the beach for a few seconds before Caoimhin quickly burst out of the pile of sand that tried to bury him. "I won't beaten easily this time. I will fight recklessly and give no thought to my own life now so get ready because I will drag you back to Tartarus with me." Caoimhin said confidently while clenching his left fist, unknowingly to Atlas, Caoimhin was forming storm clouds above them. Caoimhin's rifle formed in his right hand and aimed it at the crack in Atlas' chest armor. Caoimhin could tell Atlas was getting ready to defend himself from the blast but caught him by surprise as lightning bolts rained down onto Atlas, hopefully paralyzing him for enough time as Caoimhin fired a large beam of energy from the rifle heading straight at the damage in Atlas' armor.

Atlas again remained perfectly still and cared nothing about his surroundings. The hail of thunderbolts rained down in rapid succession. And above the sound of the corresponding thunder, was the sound of the rifle firing. All was silent afterwards, aside from a few remaining thunderbolts striking.

As the clouds receded, the figure of Atlas stood there. He was surrounded by patches of glass, from when the heat of the lightning struck the ground. As he stepped forward, he appeared unharmed. Upon closer inspection ... the crack in his armor was gone as well. The usually unmoved Atlas was angry. "I award you for creativity and intelligent strategy. But you are still not ready."

Atlas spoke sternly. "Lesson one. NEVER develop a strategy until you've learned your opponents abilities. You know nothing of my strengths and abilities, or my intellect. There are many types of power ... you must develop a different strategy for each."

He paused, "There's a reason you were chosen as guardian." His tone softened. "You idea there was brilliant. That would of killed just about any creature; in fact, it should of caused me quite a bit of pain. But ... not here."

His tone grew harsh again, "Lesson Two. Know your surroundings. I'm surrounded by sand, which is a insulator. Yes, the lightning was drawn to me, but for not even one second did you consider me using the sand. It was a grounder. I was able to transfer the electric current through me into the sand. Thus the excessive amounts of glass." He paused. "And while we're on that subject ... that's why I'm healed. I used some of the sand and the heat of your lighting to fuse my cracked armor. Thus all I had to do was focus on the bullet ... but I didn't even have to do that." He paused again. You see ... the bullet did actually make a decent hit, but again ... I used your own ability to heal myself."

"And finally" His tone reached the angriest he'd seen yet, "Lesson Three. NEVER fight recklessly and without regard for your own life. You mustn't fight blindly. Fight with all you got, and all you know. And don't forget your life. Cherish it, but if you must give it up, do so. There is a difference between not caring about your life ... and not being afraid to lose it."

Atlas dropped his head and said in a somber tone. "You are still not ready."

"Stop calling me 'guardian'...I've rejected the title that was given to me. I don't deserve it and I don't deserve to live a life or constant failure. Now attack me rather than continue to mock me and my abilities. This time I'll catch you off guard...with the help from Poseidon." Caoimhin replied to Atlas as a large tidal wave formed near the beach and came crashing down on Atlas.

This situation was becomming a bit more uncomfortable. Legion uncertainly placed his hand on her shoulder. 'There was nothing you could have done, this was his destined path and not even I, had the power to change it Izabel. Don't waste time mourning, I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted that' he said warmly, but noticed something off about Joe's body. 'It is time to return now, I have granted your request' he said hastily and literally dragged her to the portal and threw her into it, it closed after her entry. He faced the empty wall, but turned his head to Joe's 'body'. 'Reveal yourself' he commanded.

Brandon was continuing his reading on the second book he took from Zedren's Library. He could tell easily that this was about ancient rulers, but some of them didn't intrest him as much. He kept noticing in pictures figures in mythology. One that surprised him was a six-armed swordsman who said to train so hard, that his arms separated to make him more deadly. He closed the book and walked out of the library, leaving it on the desk to see Zedren. He knew by now, he was still watching the battle data. The hallways were really quiet since he got here, mostly because some of the rangers turned up missing as well as Joe dying. But, this gave him a bit more of a suspenseful vibe. Brandon shrugged it off and contiued his way. He got to the breifing room door and started to lightly knock on it with the back of his hand. "Zedren? You got a moment to spare?"

The door opened "Ah Brandon. Of course come in." He turned around in his chair and shut off the screen. "I've finally finished analyzing most of the data. I think I've found some pretty interesting stuff, which I'll fill you all in on in the morning. Also ... I spoke with Ecliptor. If you wish, he could teach you some close quarters combat. Now then ... what brings you here so late?"

-------------------

Back on the beach, Atlas again stood still. The wave crashed around him as if he were a pillar in the sea. "Ironic. Your power is much like water. Soft and weak, but with the proper focus it can move mountains." He raised his fist causing the sand to wrap around Caoimhin. It then hardened into solid stone trapping him. Atlas walked up to him and spoke softly but sternly. "Drop this rage and pity. It only causes you to beat yourself up more than your opponent. Stop acting like a child and become more calm and at peace - like your ancestors." He paused suddenly. He had the same look he had a few hours earlier when he left Caoimhin.

"You'll have to be calm and patient" He turned and started to walk away but turned slightly. "Joe will need you to be." He then disappeared. When he did the pillar of stone turned back into sand and fell to the ground.

------------------

The room was quiet and nothing moved. A few moments later, there was a slight snicker. The body rattled, it was laughing. Its head turned towards Legion and said in a strage voice "You're no fun." The voice sounded like Joe, but had a separate voice as an echo. Instead of sitting up, he slid off the stretcher head first and flipped onto the ground. He looked around the room and scratched his head. Aside from the different voice, something else was off. There was a noticeable tattoo on his shoulders, as well as both of his knees and a large 'X' like tattoo on his chest. He seemed to ignore Legion with a childlike innocence as he tried to analyze his surroundings.

"I'm sorry Master Zedren for coming in so late. And I will take Elipticor on that offer." Brandon said as he bowed lightly. "But I was on the library researching past designs of Megazords and something beyond my juristiction." he hesitated as he looked around. "I wanted to know more about Serpenterra and your reign as Lord Zedd, which happened to be in the same book as other legends." he looked at the ground as he was prepared for him being frustrated at him for going beyond his accomodation at the library. "I hope this doesn't trouble you if I ask."

"You coward...leaving the fight after spending some time mocking me. What kind of a Titan are you?" Caoimhin asked while controlling his anger. "You probably got that from Vile, didn't you?...That doesn't matter now. And what the hell was he on about before...young Joseph needs me to be calm and patient...he's dead so how would he need me?"

Fearing something must be wrong at the base, Caoimhin unmorphed to conserve his energy and ran towards the base. "Zedren, can you hear me?" Caoimhin spoke through his com link. "Zedren, check on young Joseph. I feel something Atlas told me has got me concerned."

Legion glared(?) at Joseph's body. 'So, it appears what Atlas feared came to pass Genesis Blade. What an entertaining tool you are, taking over the body of your host just to sate your thirst for blood. It's pathetic but curious at the same time. But' he commented and summoned his sickle, which changed into a kama. Another formed in his other hand. 'I'm afraid that this body is already reserved for another soul; so I strongly suggest you remove yourself from it before I make you leave' he said with extreme malice.

Zedren was a little nervous about Brandon's question. He didn't see the flashing light that he had an incoming message. "Well ... what exactly do you want to know about them? I did a lot of things when I was Lord Zed. Some of which is hard for me to remember specifics about. So please try to narrow it down."

----------

Back in the lab, Joseph's body raised a finger and laughed a bit. "First off ... did you just call me Genesis Blade. hahaha Please, I'm more of a spirit. You can call me no-name. Or spirit. Or heck, you can even call me Joe if you wish." He paused to stretch his muscles. "Secondly ... this is not mere possession. I like to call it an assimilation. In fact ... I've assimilated his body, and am in the process of assimilating his memories as well. So if this kid knew you in his life ... I apologize for not remembering."

He tried to throw some punches in the air and he jumped up and down twice as if he was trying something. "Hmm ... still not ready. Got to get the blood pumping." He paused as if an idea struck him. "Wow ... I just had an idea. No seriously. Like I just remembered something. Apparently this Joe kid knows you and that chick that was here earlier. And well .... for some reason I am very attracted to her - aside from the obvious reasons" He gave a sly look as if to comment on Izabel's physical looks. "And ... oh wow ... don't take this personally but ... part of me really wants to punch you in the face."

He then jumped up on the stretcher and crossed his legs as if in a mediative pose. He rested his head on his fist "Now I actually like this kids thinking. I mean he wants to hit you for some reason I'm unaware of. And well ... you're striking me as a major buzz kill." He then tilted his head in a sadistic manner "Well what do you know ... I'm in this body for not even 10 minutes and already I'm agreeing with this kid." He then laughed loudly.

Legion made an unimpressed noise. 'Threaten me all you want spirit; you can cut me, slice me, mutilate my form...but it wouldn't make an iota of difference in this battle. You WILL be leaving that body spirit, by my hand. Make your final prayers, because I will be eliminating you' he stated to the creature. 'This guy is creepy, even more than you. To be quite honest I don't like this one bit' Broodwing said. 'Shut up' was Legion's reply.

Brandon looked at Zedren with some concern. "I'll only ask now about what happened with Serpentterra. I know that scrap metal of it along with its engine module is in the moon, possibly hidden. But what I really want to know is that if there is a chance that it could go into the wrong hands, considering it has been used by the Machine Empire." he then stopped and looked at the screen. He slowly thought of everything that caused his time and stood silent for a minute, then regained his thoughts. "I know its hard for you to answer that. but, I'm not really expecting an answer so quickly. I'm asking now just in case something happens and I can't ask then."

"As far as Serpentera, it was destroyed a few years back. A small faction of the machine Empire tried to reform and revive the fallen Serpentera, but it was destroyed. It's long dormant reactor was hit with a blast from the Wild Force Red Ranger. All those years on the moon caused it's core to leak. It needed constant maintenance, thus why it fell so easily. I don't think there should be concern for that."

He finally noticed the flashed red light and heard Caoimhin's message. "What? Can you please repeat that Caoimhin? I think that was just to unnerve you."

--------

Meanwhile, back in the medical bay, the spirit just looked around. "Nothing of much use in here. I should just wait for this body to be sufficient." He stayed seated for about another 10 seconds. "Yah, this is boring. New plan." He then leaped at Legion and pulled his hood down over his head. He then jump backed and laughed a little bit. His speed was a lot quicker than usual. It was about the pinnacle of human achievement as far as reaction time goes. It was just enough catch Legion by surprise ... and further more ... it was completely random. No forethought at all.

"Finally" Caoimhin said to himself as he heard Zedren's voice. "I said to check on young Joseph. And Atlas is someone who doesn't use such tactics to get at his enemies...I've fought him enough times now to notice his personality. Just please check on him, what Atlas was saying to me suggests that young Joseph is stilll alive somehow." Caoimhin was running as fast as he could to return to the base and see if his gut feeling was right.

Zedren got up from his desk and looked at Brandon. "I've never heard Caoimhin sound like that." He then switched on the video monitor to the medical bay and saw the figure of Joseph laughing at apparently ... "LEGION!!!!!! Brandon, let's get going." As the two of them left the conference room, Zedren radioed Sean and told him to meet them in the medical bay. They raced as fast as they could towards the medical bay.

Legion had been caught off-guard, which was, until that moment impossible. 'In-inceivable. nothing has escaped my foresight before, but you, you' Legion began, lost for words. 'He got by you by putting no thought into his actions whatsoever; he can create whatever result he so wishes without even thinking about it' Broodwing noted. 'So he creates his own destiny at key points, I can't read a person like that, no one's reaction time could allow for a pinpoint time, not even I' Legion admitted. 'You caught me off guard, which was impressive' Legion said, but saw something. 'It appears our time together has to be cut short, for help is arriving. Pity, but we'll meet again, it is the way of things' he said and vanished.
