After Legion vanished, Izabel punched the wall. She screamed in anger. "I wish I had some power of my own. If I did I'd rip him in half."

Auric tried to calm her. "Calm yourself Miss Izabel. Perhaps you need something better to take your mind off things." He raised his hand and it glowed gold. Just then a similar glow appeared on the wall and in Izabel's hand. Just then a dart board and 3 darts appeared.

Izabel looked at Auric and calmed down a bit. Her usual smile returned. "Thanks Auric. I can't think about it. I know Joe. He'll find a way to make things work out." She then started to throw the darts and try to calm herself.

-------

GriffEnd saw the attack coming, "Enough of this!" His eyes glowed blue and suddenly, everything stopped. He timed it right before Brandon let out his spines. He looked at all of them, "Which of you is the most dangerous." He looked specifically at Nexev and saw his cross still in the ground. He then moved on, "I can't underestimate you. So I'll end this now." He let out his claws and aimed them right at Nexev's neck. He pulled his arm back and then shot it forward. Suddenly, it stopped an inch away from Nexev's neck. A voice rang in GriffEnd's ears.

"Return here at once." Vile commanded. "Something has occurred."

GriffEnd nodded and walked away slowly. He turned slightly and said "Next time I won't play around with you all so much. Next time, it's more personal." He then took off in the sky in the blink of an eye. Moments later, the rangers were released from their binds and all returned to normal.

(since i didn't get your roll Gale, figured this would be the best bet)

Legion heard Vile's summons, but he ignored them. What Vile had to say he already knew about, provided it was what he knew Vile was going to speak about. 'Ignoring a summons? My boy, you certainly have grown intot he rebellious teen haven't you?' Broodwing laughed. Legion didn't laugh, it was such a bland joke. 'I suspect I already know what Vile is going to report. But I figure he recalled GriffEND because he used too much energy in his assaults. I could feel his weak energy field. He would have been cut down otherwise' Legion stated.

Caoimhin arrived at the battlefield and looked around at the destruction. "Guess i missed out on all of the action" he said to himself then walked over to Brandon. "We should probably head back to the base, I have a feeling the place could be in danger soon." Caoimhin said to him thinking Atlas could be up to something after having that small conversation with him. "Where did Sean go anyway?"

Brandon got up, already de-morphed as soon as GriffEND's ability was broken. "It was. But he was getting stronger by the second. He put me on the ropes. He made me use all but one spine. I really should've learned CQC from Kai and Star. Too late now." he said as he looked around. "Thats weird. I saw him helping me with GriffEND, but then after, he was gone. Must've went back to base. And we should give Zendren all of the details on this assignment." he started walking, but realized something. He forgot where the base was from this part of downtown. "Uh...where exatcly do we go?"

Then suddenly, a hand came out of a part of the rubble. It was Sean's. "Guys...a little help here?" During the battle, he was being throw around, knocked down, and hit by almost every bit of rubble being thrown around the place before he could do a sneak attack on GriffEnd. He can't even see, so he couldn't know if GriffEnd left or not. "Guys...can someone please help me? I'm in serious pain here! Can you get me out of here, please!?"

Nexev sighed. "Well that was anticlimatic." Nexev muttered as he walked to his cross, and picked it up. The energy circuit that the Cross was channeling was disrupted by this act and a loud screech was heard as a large quantity of energy suddenly disappated. Nexev quietly watched as a few windows shattered and the pavement became scratched from this act. "Oh well, that probbaly wouldn't have stopped him anyway. I guess I'll be seeing you guys, I have chickens to catch. Give Joe my regards." With that being said, Nexev sank to the ground and teleported back to his base, planning his next move.

"That Nexev is certainly a strange person." Caoimhin said to himself as he went to Sean and pulled the rubble off of him then helped him up onto his feet. "These Tetrarchs are becoming more formidable opponents and we have no way of getting stronger ourselves. Let's just head back to the base and look through the recordings of the fight then maybe find some sort of weakness in GriffEnd."

Sean was still in pain after he was pulled out of the rubble by Caoimhin, but not as much, so he just ignored it. "I don't think there is a weakness to GriffEnd. If he keeps getting stronger, we would have to find out something else to keep his power and strength at bay." replied Sean. He then looked at his morpher. "I guess I'll have to wait for the next battle to really jump in instead of having the objects around me keep hitting me like I'm accident prone." He was a bit annoyed when he said it, but then looked around. "If you guys don't know how to get back to base from here, then you better grab hold of me. I'll teleport us out of here. Hold on tight!"

As the rangers reentered the base, everything was quiet. A little too quiet. The rangers all got a sense that something was off. As they checked main conference room, there was no one monitoring the screens. The bed rooms and armory were empty as well. As they continued to walk onwards, they spied a figure walking slowly out of the hallway from the medical room. It was Diabolico and the usually unmoved demon ... looked concerned.

-------

Meanwhile GriffEnd got back to Vile's lair. He was just about to ask why he had to return to the base. 'I could of finished them' he though, 'and then gone after Joe'. He decided not to speak when saw MeteorKnight and Atlas standing around Vile. The three figures had glasses in their hands.

Vile got off his thrown and approached GriffEnd pleasantly. He put an arm around him and handed him a glass. "Come my friend, a celebration is in order."

GriffEnd was confused, but was also curious as to what made his master so happy.

--------

Up in the Alps, that strange figure who observed the fight was sitting on a boulder. He was looking up and down the mountain wall until he focused on a certain wall. He walked towards it and entered upon Loki's hidden cave. "What ... I was assuming I'd have a welcome party. How rude." he said jokingly

"It seems something is troubling you, Diabolico, best to tell us what is happening. Is it about young Joseph? Zedren? the other rangers? Tell us now." Caoimhin ordered Diabolico. The last thing they need was more enemies they have no idea about or any of the other rangers found dead somewhere. "This better not be why Atlas was so calm about the Genesis Blade before." he muttered to himself.

Brandon found the eerily quiet room to be darker than it was before GriffEND's 2nd round with the rangers. He looked down at the ground and thought of what possibly happened. "I surely hope this doesn't have to do with the Genesis Blade. If it does, one of my objectives in this mission has failed." he said as he looked at Diabolico. "Is Joe okay? Did he at least stop feeling the pain of the Genesis Blade taking over?" he asked with pure concern. The pure suspense was giving him a bad feeling if the scenery didn't give much of that already.

Diabolico looked down. If he could cry, he would of fought back a tear. "Joseph is no longer feeling the pain of the Genesis Blade." there was an eerie pause. "In fact, he won't have to feel any pain ever again." He got chocked up for a second but finally spit it out. "Joseph is dead." He said nothing else.

-------

"Joseph is dead!" Vile screamed with enjoyment as he poured GriffEnd some of the blood-colored wine. Vile threw his hands up in the air. "Finally, that pest is out of my hair once and for all." He noticed Atlas had a strange look on his face. "What's wrong my boy. Drink up."

Atlas looked at him with slight disgust. "You do realize that in another life, I did consider him a friend."

Vile merely shrugged. "Yes, but that's not your life anymore is it?"

Atlas looked down at his glass, it was larger than the others. He sighed. "As bad as it is to say ... this is at least the better of the two outcomes." He then drank his entire glass in one gulp.

Vile looked at him "Let's see pesty Gold Ranger dead. And the Genesis Blade is gone with him. I call that the most amazing outcome of all time."

Caoimhin couldn't believe what he heard from Diabolico. "It can't be possible. I would have thought the Genesis Blade would have taken over his body, not kill him. Where's Zedren?! I want to know why you or him didn't inform me about this?!" Caoimhin was getting more frustrated about this and angry with himself for letting Joe take the Genesis Blade. He was angry because he chose the wrong person and in the end an innnocent human died from it. Caoimhin took off his helmet and threw it past Diabolico and down the hallway before walking in the opposite direction to have some time alone. "I've failed again" he muttered sorrowfully to himself.

Legion appeared in the room with hiis glass filled with the foul black liquid, he wasn't much for celebrating. 'I heard the announcement Master Vile' he stated and took a swig from his glass. 'I bet you're upset, the Genesis Blade did what you couldn't' Broodwing commented. 'It's not that, I'm just unhappy that I've lost my only real challenge. The other rangers were meaningless to Joseph; I suppose he was my rival, if you could call him that' Legion replied.

Sean's eyes widened extremely. Now understanding the epidemic, Sean became in denial. "No...he can't be dead, he can't be!" he yelled as tears began to form in his eyes, but he wiped them off and looked towards Caoimhin walking away. "Hold it!" Sean then ran up to Caoimhin an summoned his spear. "This is all your fault! If you hadn't given Joseph those stupid tests, none of this would've happened! Your the reason he's dead, and you can't fix it!" Sean couldn't help but to let out his feelings. He couldn't keep it in any longer.

"If i were you, I'd put down that spear before I impale you with it." Caoimhin warned Sean as he moved the spear away from himself. "And don't you think I already know it's my fault you stupid fool. I don't care if you curse me for the rest of your life for what has happened. Now let me just be alone for awhile." Caoimhin then pushed Sean away from him and went to the Zord habitation area to be with Cerberus.

"Knock it off you two. Do you think Joe would want you to fight like this?"Diabolico yelled. "No one could of stopped this. It happened. There is no sense in killing yourselves over it. Joe wouldn't want that." Diabolico voice calmed a little. "Caoimhin ... if you need time alone, please take it. When you're ready you can come see him." He then turned to the rest of the rangers, "If you wish to see him, he's still in the medical bay. Zedren is there too." Diabolico then began to walk off.

Sean then pulled back his spear and it returned to his morpher in an orange light. He sighed and apologized to Caoimhin. For the moment, his anger took over and the act of blame towards a friend. He walked into the medical bay and saw Joe, motionless on his bed, and Zedren sitting beside him. "Is it true Zedren? Is he really dead? I just wish I could've done something to stop this, but what could I do? I should've stopped Joe from entering that chamber in the first place. But who's really to blame for this?" he told Zedren in despair and hopelessness.

Zedren pushed a tear away from his eye. He stood up and walked over to Sean. "Yes, he's dead" He said in a somber voice. "But you shouldn't blame yourself Sean. The path of blame has many side roads. If you were to blame yourself for letting him go. Or Cao for giving him the blade. Or Brandon for stopping us from removing the blade. I would even be to blame for making the Blade the key to the Gold Ranger powers. Even Zordon himself for not destroying the blade." He paused. "There are countless people we can blame, but that is not the right mentality. No one person is to blame more than anyone else. It happened. The point is now ... going on. We can't let his death be in vain." He was trying to be strong and optimistic.

"Strangely enough ... Legion broke in while you were all gone. He was about to kill Joseph himself but stopped. Perhaps he not as bad as we think ... or maybe .... he just saw that death was inevitable."

He tried to change the subject as he pushed another tear away from his eye. "How did the fight go? I didn't get to see any of it, but we recorded it on the servors. I'll go over the data as soon as I can. But for now ... summary?"

"What was the point of being here in this universe if I keep on failing to protect everyone" Caoimhin said to Cerberus. Caoimhin had de-morphed now and was resting on the top of Cerberus' middle head. "I couldn't protect my city, friends, family...I wasn't even there to protect Zordon from Rita's trap. Now I can't even protect those rangers or the humans. Izabel is no doubt gonna be grieving over young Joseph's death if Legion took the joy of telling her. Guess my old age has gotten to me even though I don't feel like my strength has diminished at all. Maybe I should retire from all of this and give up on it all."

Cerberus growled and roared at Caoimhin. "Ok,ok...don't shout at me, Cerberus. I should probably help get Izabel back before I retire, at least I would have been of some use to these rangers. Wait...maybe we should find out what Atlas knew about the Genesis Blade, maybe the kid ain't dead yet and it could be something that the blade did to him. Even if he is dead, I guess we could find a way into Hades and drag his soul out of there...if his soul is there that is. Thanks for helping me out, Cerberus."

Caoimhin leapt off of Cerberus' head, landing on the ground with a loud thud then ran for the exit. Hopefully he could draw out Atlas and get him to answer more questions.

----------

Caoimhin went back to the beach where Atlas met with him last time. "ATLAS! I CHALLENGE YOU TO A FIGHT, YOU COWARD!" Caoimhin yelled up into the sky. Hopefully, this would draw out Atlas and hopefully find out what he was hiding from him.

Brandon was really upset about Jospeh dying on his watch. In his time, he would've seen a dead body as another casualty of war from the possible armageddon. But here. Right here, he felt like he just lost someone in his family. He was a comrade. And comrades in wartime would always be brothers bathed in blood as he heard from Kai during his first years of being a Sigma Ranger. He looked at Zedren, trying to keep his composure. "We managed to find out that the disturbance was from GriffEND. While he did this, we had confrontation. He kept us on the ropes, having newfound power in his hand. We were later defeated, but managed to stop the freezing. In all, the primary mission was complete. Secondary has been terminated due to GriffEND's strength."

'He's enjoying this way too much' roodwing said with disgust, obviously refering to Master Vile. 'Before my birth it seemed obvious Joseph and Vile were in constan battle. My guess is is that Joseph was the one who foiled most of vile's plans. I just can't enjoy the thrill of losing a rival like Master Vile can' Legion replied. Vile's party was rather uncelebratory for Legion's liking; thus he vanished his glass and took a few steps back, fading into darkness.

He reappeared in Izabel's room, in his right hand was a vase with black roses sticking out of it. 'I have come to offer my condolances' he stated.

OoC: Okay, I'm about to do something that will connect to a later episode. It will only happen this one time as of now, but it will be explained soon enough. ;)

"I attempted to do a few sneak attacks during the battle, but all of the rubble was being an obstacle I couldn't dodge." said Sean in a depressing tone. He then walked up towards Joe's motionless body. As soon as he touched him, he felt a slight sting/burn on his hand. Sean was shocked by the slight pain and wondered how that happened. "That was strange. I just felt a burn on Joe's body. Is that normal for a corpse to do that? Is it natural for that to actually happen?" Sean wasn't sure why that happened, but he believed that it will connect to something in the future.

"Yes Sean." Zedren announced. "We spotted that too. We have no vital signs or any trace of life left; however, the body is not only warm but scorching. Our best bet is that the Blade is still inside him and is giving off its energy. Powering down I assume." Zedren guessed. "But I am more relieved that you sensed it too. Your senses are higher than mine, so I trust you more."

He then went back to the other topic. "So ... it was all GriffEnd was it. What do you all say we retire for the night? You all can stay here as long as you like, and go back to your room when you see fit. While you do that, i'll examine the battle footage and try to find out if there is a weakness we can exploit.

------------

Meanwhile back in Izabel's room, there was a sheet over the mirror. Izabel sat with Auric throwing darts. She ignored Legion. After the last dart was thrown, she walked up to the board to retrieve the darts.

------------

A little ways off, Atlas was still in the main room with Vile, GriffEnd and MeteorKnight. He sensed Caoimhin's call and tried to transmit his thought "You are in over your head guardian, but I accept your challenge. I'll be there in an hour or so. I do suggest you find a way to entertain yourself for the time being." The thought connection dropped and he returned to the celebration at hand.

"Fine, I can wait." Caoimhin said and sat down on the soft sand in the beach and began to meditate and wondered what he would have done if he was like his past self when he had joined the Forces of Good and helped Zordon fight Rita. He remembered how quick he was to act rather than think of how the consequences of his actions could be for the worse, something with Zordon used to teach him. Kelyck would also remind him of Zordon's words, remembering how he stop Caoimhin from irrationally attacking Dai Shi and showing him how humans can fight for themselves as well. This gave Caoimhin more respect to humans, originally thinking that they were weak and that's why they had to battle Rita for them. Caoimhin began wondering if his time as a Ranger has now passed and that was why he was no longer able to defeat the Tetrarchs.
