"It doesn't matter. It's most likely deep down in the ocean." Caoimhin replied to Zedren, obviously frustrated by it. "I'll swim back to the Angel Bay Beach. Just make sure the others are ok for the mean time." Caoimhin then began to swim back to Angel Bay. "Why can't anything go right these days?"

Brandon jumped away from the tail swing from the now blinded GriffEND. He took his time to run up towards the monster and started to run around in a circle, thought he couldn't do what he usually did when he was morphed. Soon after, a small streak appeared in the circle made to throw GriffEND off if he was able to see. Out of nowhere, Brandon came dashing through the circle diagonally and prepared himself to land a jump kick right towards the monster's stomach, accumulating some force into it. (Roll: 10+2=12)

GriffEnd tried to see through the daze, but his eyes still hurt, he thought he saw something, but it was too hard to focus for the moment. He then felt a hit to his chest. It wasn't that strong, but considering he didn't have any guard up, it hit him well. He could feel the transfer of speed built energy. He knew which one hit him. "You're starting to annoy me again Brandon. Using speed to increase the power of an attack? That's my M.O." He was silent for a second.

"Let's try something new." He grew silent again and drew his wings close ... it was only for a moment, but the silence was maddening. In the blink of an eye he then opened his wings so fast that a sound of thunder followed several seconds afterwards. By time the sound was herd, the wind had already struck the ranger in an attempt to blast them away.

Brandon felt the giant gust of wind pushing him away. He kept fighting the wind, but it kept sending debris towards him. He kept jumping over obstacles and some taken down trees. He didn't notice a newspaper in his way and it covered his face. He kept trying to take it off, but every time, he got hit by the debris. He couldn't take much more of this. He took out his morpher and slowly got up. "This is too soon for it." he said to himself, "but....HERE WE GO!" As he said this, a bright light surrounded him and he turned into his Sapphire Ranger form.

In an explosion of shadow Legion appeared atop a building near the melee. He watched with patience, patience in seeing what his brother could do. 'Vile, he is both despicable and depraved. Despite my hatred for him, I am a little bit impressed with GriffEND' Broodwing admitted. 'I know; GriffEND is not like us three. He was born and will continue to develop. Given time he may grow stronger than MeteorKnight and possibly Atlas. But, I doubt he'll get that far. The black one has left. Where to is up to fate, but, I have a doubt that this will turn to the ranger's favour. But, why?' Legion wondered. 'Why what?' Broodwing inquired. 'I wonder, why couldn't I kill Joseph? He was right there, completely vulnerable and without protection. It would have been over in a mere second, yet, I couldn't' Legion continued, his tone a lament. 'Maybe, maybe I did it for her' Legion added as he looked up to the sky.

Nexev leaped at GriffEND from behind, the Cross drawing energy from the atmosphere and matterilizing it in a Mallet head shape around his cross (making the thing look like a hammer). "Hey Griffend, you shouldn't ignore a foe if he still stands. They may abuse that advantage." Nexev swung the hammer-cross in midair, aiming to land the blow directly on GriffEND's head. "Even if I die, you will learn to fear my name!" Nexev shouted as the hammer head exploded on impact, creating a rather large energy wave around the point of impact. (Regardless if the blow hit or not).

As Nexev swung down at the dazed and confused GriffEnd ... it happened. GriffEnd's eyes shot open and he grabbed Nexev's arms, stopping the swinging of the hammer. The sudden stop though did cause the cross-hammer to emit it's blast. At that moment, GriffEnd beat his wings to match the shockwave. All the glass windows in the area shattered from the combining of the two great forces. The two stayed in deadlock until GriffEnd slammed Nexev to the ground. "And you ... you shouldn't have lingered." He then kicked Nexev away, not hard enough to hurt, but just enough to move him away.

He then addressed them all, "As the battles progress, so do I. My brothers may have all their powers already, and whereas mine at the moment are inferior, mine can evolve." He paused again "Remember, anything can be accelerated ... including my rate of healing." He then pointed to his wing that had the falcatta wound. It was fully healed.

Meanwhile, as Caoimhin swam back to shore, a large pillar of earth picked him up and propelled him towards the shore line. As he crashed down, the sand kicked up and swirled around him, eventually materializing into the form of Atlas. "Welcome guardian." He said with a half interested tone

Nexev laughed. "You think I don't know that? I killed you before. I'll do it again. I don't care what happens next, but you shall die." Nexev's cross started to glow as he stood up. "I've been to my future, my world's a few years beyond yours. Guess who wasn't there?" Nexev pointed the cross in the air and a beam of light shot out, dispersing within the air at a few hundred yards in the air. Nexev jabbed the cross in the ground as it continued to fire light into the sky. Nexev then assumed a boxing stance and threw a punch at GriffEND. "What's the matter? Are you too weak to kill little old me?"

GriffEnd didn't dodge due to the cross blasts distracting his gaze, instead he waited. Nexev smacked GriffEnd in the head hard, his neck twisted to the side. There was a moment of silence and then GriffEnd turned to look at Nexev and smiled, "You think it's the same do you? Different dimension ... different outcome." He then returned a claw strike towards Nexev.

"Let me guess...you're here to fight me? I'm not afraid to fight you, no matter how strong Vile has made you." Caoimhin then morphed back to his Hades Ranger form, weilding his falcata in his right hand and his rifle in his left hand. "What's it like being a puppet for Vile and his plans?"

Atlas raised his right hand in a fist and two tree stump size pillars appeared. One the times as large as the other. Atlas sat down on the larger and motioned Caoimhin to sit down as well on the other. He sighed. "Put that down." He pointed at the falcatta. "I'm not here for Vile. This is off the record." He paused for a second. "What has become of young Joseph's condition? Or are you even aware of what is happening? ... or rather ... what is going to happen?" He stopped to think and then chuckled a bit ... "That's right ... you have no idea what's coming do you. Or what's inside that blade?"

Legion sighed with dissapointment. 'GriffEND, he is still too weak to defeat a ranger, let alone a group of them. Maybe we should lock him away somewhere until he's strong enough to escape' Legion considered, but a lone thought wormed it's way into his mind. He said nothing as he vanished into shadows.

He reppeared in Izabel's room. 'It appears things seem to be taking a turn for the worse' he announced as the mirror acted to his will, showing Joseph in his catatonic state. 'The Genesis Blade, a most powerful weapon, now, a powerful curse. Life and death are meaningless to it, will it become meaningless to Joseph as well?' he thought to himself.

Caoimhin decided to trust Atlas as it sounded like he had some information to help him free Joe from the Genesis Blade's grasp. He sat on the other treestump and put his weapons down in front of him. "I only know what i've seen or have been told in the past...as well as some experience in trying to use the Genesis Blade. Which isn't that much as i don't know how to stop the process which is happening to young Joseph" Caoimhin admitted to Atlas. Inside his own mind, he was cursing himself for showing weakness to his enemy but hoped it would tempt Atlas to give useful information to him. "But it sounds like you know something I don't."

Izabel was laying on her bed, her back turned to Legion and the mirror. She paid him no attention. Auric however got up and walked to the other side of the bed, between Legion and Izabel. "Auric will not allow you to continue pestering this young lady."

Izabel cleared her throat and sat up. Her eyes looked tired, as if she had been crying, but now her eyes showed determination instead. "Let it go Auric. He's obviously lonely. Why else would he keep coming back here." she stared at him for a second "Did you at least come up with an 'excuse' for coming here?"

---------

Back on the beach Atlas dropped his head, "Did you ever wonder why Joseph was able to use the Blade as well as he has, or why I allowed him to take it in the first place. Zordon wanted the wielder to be pure of heart, but the blade doesn't care. The blade requires something else." Atlas paused for a second. "I sensed an old soul in young Joseph. His will is strong. He has resisted the corruption of power. His girlfriend was taken by my brother. A normal person would of either moved on to someone else, or remained in a state of loss. He has done neither, but has actually stayed firm in his path. A strong will is necessary for what is occurring right now. But i fear young Joseph, as strong as his will is .... isn't enough."

The Blade has an old soul inside it as well, perhaps a few." He stopped and clenched his fist "It has been described as chaotic, a trickster - not to the extent of Loki, but i assume they'd get along pretty well. They've also described it as someone who loves to fight, spurred on by even the slightest temptation. He has no restraints. In all likeliness Joe will die, but in the 1% chance he doesn't ... he'll undergo the transformation. The full mechanics of the transformation are still unknown. I've only seen that transformation once, and it was enough." Atlas paused and placed his head in his hands as if to recall a painful memory. "Which is why the I'm glad you removed the blade from Joseph." Atlas paused "You did remove the Blade right?" His tone got more urgent, "Where is the blade right now?"

'And excuse for coming here' Legion said as Izabel said it, then laughed. 'I may do; but it just seems I can't go a day without seeing your pretty face' he said with feigned playfullness. He laughed at his own little joke. 'No, the reaosn I'm here is that i thought you aught to know. Because the agony of knowing is just as painful as the agony of not knowing. I know you saw Joe collapse in battle, but perhaps you'd like to know the aftermath? I'm sure you don't, but I'll tell you. The Genesis is tearing him asunder; an eternal battle wages within him for dominance. From what I learned, he has little chance of surviving. I saw ahead to see the outcome Izabel' he stated.

"I didn't manage to seperate the Blade from young Joseph. The power surge from it caused the security mechanisms to go haywire and attacked all of us and that was when the Genesis Blade began to fuse with his body." Caoimhin grimaced and looked away from Atlas. "Mock me all you want. I already know I have failed as the Guardian of my island and the Genesis Blade."

Izabel's ears perked up, "What did you see"

At that point Auric stepped up, "Auric advises against that. How do you know he'd be telling the truth."

"I don't care." Izabel said. Auric nodded and stood beside Izabel. She then looked at Legion, "Tell me, or else I'll rip you in two."

Auric cracked his knuckles "Please save a piece for Auric."

Izabel smiled malevolently, "Alright, but you better not linger."

------------

"WHAT!" Atlas yelled. It seemed to shake the ground. "The blade is still within him? Then all ... " He stopped suddenly and closed his eyes. As if he was sensing something. He turned back to Caoimhin and smiled "Never mind then. Crisis averted." he smiled as he got up. The stump he was sitting on crumbled back into sand, as well as the one Caoimhin was still sitting on. He began to walk away, but quickly stopped and turned slightly to look over his shoulder at Caoimhin, "You need more confidence. A loss isn't conferred upon one person, just as praise isn't all placed upon one. It is a series of choices. And you guardian ... the Island inhabitants ... the Blade ... non of these were your sole responsibility. You have a much greater part to play still. That time ... will determine your value ... as a guardian." He then slowly began to disappear in to sand, starting from the bottom and slowly working it's way up.

Caoimhin just didn't understand Atlas at all. How is that protecting the Blade wasn't is sole responsibility? Why did he say that Caoimhin, the only surviving citizen of the Island of Creation, doesn't have the sole responsibility to bring back all those that were taken away by the Deuteros Kamen? And what the hell did he mean when he said 'crisis averted' ealier after talking about the situation with young Joesph and the Genesis Blade?

Caoimhin got back on his feet and brushed the sand off his suit and picked up his weapons. "Wonder what's happening with the fight against GriffEnd?" he said to himself as he sent off to find the location of the battle again.

Legion merely laughed. 'How dare you doubt my sincerity Auric. Though, on second thoughts, I won't tell either of you. The agony of you knowing yet not knowing at the same time is much more amusing to me Izabel. I'll let you both flounder, or you can guess. Joseph has a one percent chance of survival, even by the standards of a miracle, it wouldn't be enough to survive, and even if he did, well' he said, but laughed before he could finish his sentence.

Brandon rushed towards GriffEND as fast as he can without using his full power. "Well then, how about you face someone from the same dimension!" he yalled as he jumped into the air and gave a swift kick to the monster's jaw, moving him back. He jumped back and started throwing his spikes at him at high speed. Instead of using his whole body with his speed ability, he was only using his hands. This was one of the new surprises in the suit he obtained. His hands were moving fast enough to make even blurs.

Izabel gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. Auric stuck his hand out in front of her, "Would you mind turning around miss, Auric wouldn't want you to see what he is about to do."

Izabel giggled, "Don't worry. I'm a big girl." She then turned to look at Legion, "Would you be a doll and please tell us what is going to happen. Or do I have to sick my friend here on you?"

-------------

GriffEnd was surprised by the kick, but as the spines started to fly, he could see them perfectly. He knocked them out of the air as if they were nothing. Just then a spine hit his shoulder. 'But how' he thought, 'how could i miss one.' His attention was diverted and the remaining spines hit their mark. They hurt his ego more than him body, but something wasn't making sense. His knew he had recovered from his freeze attack, so why was his speed slower. He knew he should of been able to stop them all, but his speed had dropped by a fraction. What caused this? Maybe he was just getting use to his new evolutions and his body was a little tired.

Legion said nothing, but one of his shadows picked up Izabel and put her safely on the bed. Meanwhile, the other shadow lashed out and slammed Auric to a wall, pinning him there. Small fragments of shadow creeped into his armour and began to do unspeakable things. (Attack: 17). 'You can sick him on me all you want, however, I think he'll need some quiet to work off the shock of what just happened to him. Don't tempt me Izabel, as powerful as you know Auric to be, I outclass him. So don't push it' he warned and released Auric.

Izabel ran over to help Auric stand. She then looked at Legion with disgust, "Are you going to tell us or not. Or do you expect me to beg you to tell me the truth?"

--------

Meanwhile, back in the downtown area, a familiar figure looked at the battle taking place below. He especially watched Brandon. He laughed to himself slightly, "It seems giving that kid the suit was a good idea. Most entertaining." He then looked around more. He saw the imposing figure of GriffEnd, but then noticed the glowing cross in the ground. He laughed a little harder "Oh this is going to be fun." He then disappeared and reappeared miles away on the top of a radio tower, looking towards the area of the fight. He materialize some strange sort of binoculars and watched the fight from a far.

He raised a hand and a bag of popcorn appeared, "Let's get ready to rumble indeed. Hahaha"

Brandon rushed towards GriffEND, with his spray can in hand. As he got close to him, he threw it at his head,as a possible distraction. He then dissapeared, revealing around then spines in total flying towards the monster, all aimed at various parts of his bidy. Brandon soon reappeared behind some rubble, looking at the outcome "I hope this works." he thought to himself as he waited for what happens next."If this goes on too long, I'm gonna run out of spines and I'll have to use hand to hand. This not good. Not good at all. Man, I should've taken CQC with Kai and Star."

Legion laughed at Izabel. 'I already told you, I'm not going to tell you; the agony of knowing yet not knowing seems much more amusing to me. Besides, would it make you feel any better knowing the result. Bad if he does survive, bad if he doesn't is all I'll tell you. Enjoy that knowledge' he said and vanished.

Within his void, Legion met some, complications. 'That, didn't feel right' he said. 'What, mocking your girlfriend? Broodwing inquired. 'Yes, usually it gave me some kind of warm feeling, but now, I just have this empty and grim feeling instead' Legion admitted. 'Ah yes, the joys of love and caring. It appears the girl has been a positive influence on you Legion, soon you'll be offering her a manicure' Broodwing laughed. 'I don't know what those are' Legion replied.
