Legion swivelled the cup and it refilled with the same foul back liquid. He took a quick dreg from it. 'Such a pity, but if that is the case, so be it. But, if you're looking for the source of the freezing, you won't find it at the radio tower; power doesn't exactly work like that' he suggested and took another dreg. He grunted with disatisfaction and discarded the glass and the chair; both evaporating into shadow. 'Not my style' he decided.

Zedren continued to do some searching and radio'd the ranger. "It appears the exact epicenter of the attack took place on 4th avenue, between 3rd and 4th street. Check it out."

------

Loki contacted his rangers with a similar message, "those rangers seem to be heading to 4th avenue, along 3rd and 4th street. Follow them. I checked out some of my still living crows in the area and they're transmitting. The expressions on the peoples faces are quite terrified. They saw something interesting I imagine. You know what to do."

Caoimhin nodded and headed to the location Zedren had informed them to go to. As Caoimhin got closer to the location he noticed the frozen people looked like they were running away from something, seeing more and more terrified people as he got nearer to the epicenter of the affected area. "Better keep my guard up as i don't know if the one causing this is still in the area. Wouldn't look good for me to be easily attacked by surprise" Caoimhin said to himself and with every footstep he made, he inspected his surrounding for any moving shadows or any noises that could have echoed in the silent streets.

"Zedren, what do you believe that I should do for the time being while I get used to having some of my old powers again?" asked Sean as he walked up to him. Since he hasn't had his powers back for a while, he might need to get occupied at the time being so he can get back into using what ever power that he has. "I'd really like to have a specific purpose again so I can help out the team once more. What do you think I should do, huh? I'm completely clueless."

Brandon heard the message about the epicenter and looked at Legion. "I guess, I should thank you for telling me I was going in the wrong direction. Now I must be going and find out what is the cause of this before anything costly happens to the city." he said as he still held the spray can and started running towards 4th avenue by going through the alleyways as a convinient shortcut.

"Wish the rest of the team was around." Caoimhin complained to himself as he got to the epicenter of the affect area. "I mean...how many good rangers teams has anyone heard about only consisting of two rangers. At least i can't see the monster that did this cuz i'd probably have a tough battle if it's a Deuteros Kamen. Where the hell is Star when you need her?"

As Caoimhin walked around the area, and as Brandon headed there ... something was watching from the shadows, but held off for the moment. A full audience is always more fun, and efficient.

----

Loki again called his rangers, specifically Nexev this time. "WAKE UP!!!!! As much as I love goofing off ... this isn't the time. Find out who is challenging my power." He signed off, but kept talking to himself. "I swear ... if this keeps up - I'm going to have to ask Loptr for some further assistance. Crows aren't the best henchmen."

-----

Zedren looked at Sean, "For the most part, I'll keep you on desk duty, but we need you at the moment with our lack of members. Go help Caoimhin and Brandon. Head to the address I gave them. But be careful, and again - keep your anger in check. Ralis and Nexev might be there. Don't let them upset you."

Zedren then headed back towards the medical room to check on Joe. Diabolico gave him a solemn glance. Things weren't looking good.

"Fine, fine, stupid immortal god." Nexev got up and looked around. "Okay then find the rangers and then follow them, can do." Nexev then headed off to the location the rangers said they were in. don't want to fight them, this is a recon, better let them be the guinea pigs. As such Nexev walked slowly, and unmorphed. On occasion he'd freeze in place to blend in the scenery.

This went on for a few minutes until Nexev got bored, so he lightly tossed a rock at Caohim and freezed in walking position so no one will know it was him.

That Nexev and his zany random attacks.

"Right, I'm on it!" said Sean as he pressed a button on his morpher and did his old teleportation dust, heading towards Brandon and Caoimhin. As he felt the power levels of the two he reappeared in front of Caoimhin. "I love being back in the team." he said to himself. He then saw Caoimhin. "Ah yes, Caoimhin. Have you spotted Brandon yet? If we don't find out that issue soon, this might be the end of us all, and a new reign on the Deuteros Kamen! Now hurry, we must get to that address before anything bad happens."

"You're overreacting a bit there, Sean. Just relax a little more. I'm not sensing anything out of the ordinary anymore so I doubt the creature that caused all of this is still here." Caoimhin replied to Sean. "And I haven't seen Brandon in while but i'm sure he's on his way. Most likely appear at high speeds like last time"

Brandon was walking towards the end of 4th avenue, he suddenly felt something off in the air. He looked around and found nothing in the area, besides the frozen people. He suddenly heard his morpher beeping, which signaled that trouble was near him. He knew nothing suspicious was around. "Hmm. Thats weird. Must be malfunctioning. I better tell the others." he turned on his communicator. "Hey guys. I'm at the epicenter of the disaster. My morpher went off, so that means it definantly means it was a monster's doing. i just can't see it. I may need backup for this. Come here as fast as you can."

"Give me a couple of minutes. Me and Sean will be there soon enough" Caoimhin replied to Brandon as he and Sean headed to the epicenter of the disaster as well. "Why do I get this gut feeling something is watching us in the background?" Caoimhin asked himself and looked around the area, memorising every bit he detail he could get from his field of vision before rushing over to Brandon.

Legion watched Brandon run off; he sighed. 'These humans are impossibly dense' he commented and vanished.

In his void, he was conversing with Broodwing. 'You know, you could terminate Joseph right now' Broodwing inquired. 'I am well aware of this. The Genesis Blade is bonding with him and slowly destroying him. It would be easy to kill him and claim the blade' Legion said. 'Then do it, you could do it carefully and claim great power in the name of Vile' Broodwing suggested. 'I could, yes...' Legion remarked and vanished.

He reappeared in the medical wing between Zedren and Diabolico. Before either could react, both shadows grabbed them by their heads and smashed them into the walls. This was enough to knock them out, but not enough to kill them. Satisfied by this, Legion retracted his shadows and walked over to the comatose Joe. 'This ends today' he said and raised a shadow, which morphed into a drill-like shape. He aimed it over Joe's heart. He was about to strike, but something kept holding him back. He forced the drill down, but it stopped before it hit Joe. He repeated the action, but something kept holding him back. Somethign in him was preventing him from finishing the job. Legion grabbed his head and vanished, unable to finish the job.

Zedren and Diabolico regrouped and got up slowly. "What was that all about?" They looked at each other with confusion before returning to monitor Joe's situation.

-----

As the rangers raced around outside, a lone figure stood upon on of the buildings. He looked down and laughed at them. They didn't realize they were all in the same place, just around the corner from each other. And he noticed another guest in the crowd too. He raised a hand ...

Back on the ground the rangers were just about to regroup when they heard a familiar voice shriek "Got you!". All of a sudden everything came alive, the figures awoke from their suspended animation. They looked around in confusion and were trying to make sense of things. Some looked at their watches and couldn't believe how much time had passed. Everything seemed normal, except one thing ... as the rangers tried to smile and turn their heads, they found that they could not. Everything they tried, any movement at all failed. They were frozen in place. Still fully conscious of their surroundings, but unable to move - or even speak.

The people looked at the frozen rangers, as well as this new frozen person. Some tried to shake them to wake them up, but it was no use. Just then a strange whirlwind sound was heard. A tan object was hurdling down from one of the building tops and then stopped an inch above the ground. It burst its wings open with such a tremendous force that cars flew threw the streets. People ran screaming. The monster had returned - GriffEnd.

He approached the 4 statues slowly, "Well, well .... like my little charade huh? Brilliant right? I figured it was the best way to lead you all out here, to make you think it was the Chronodox again. I even turned off the water turbines to add detail." He looked at Brandon "MeteorKnight figured someone of your caliber would check the technology as well. Oh that's right, he even has info on you to. Well ... this suit - no, but your mannerisms - yes."

"As far as the rest of you all being frozen", he continued "that's my little doing as well." He lept up on a overturned bus to sit. "You should of listen to what Vile called me. The MASTER of mobility. You seriously think I can only make things faster, oh no. I can slow them down too. Even make them stop. It truly is a wonder."

He then looked over to the only person not in ranger uniform, "Well what do we have here. A passerby ... no. I think we have another little bit of fun here." He didn't reveal the identity of the newcomer. He didn't know if he wanted it public. He didn't care either, but what he did want was data - for his brother. MeteorKnight had data on almost everyone's fighting style except this one and his teammate. He leaned in close and whispered " ... I'll give you a chance to prepare yourself." He then walked away past Sean and Caoimhin and turned the corner and said more loudly "In the meantime ..." They couldn't see anything else

In that moment, GriffEnd walked up to Brandon who was still around the corner frozen "Time to repay you for that little run around you gave me this morning. I never like to hit a still target ... but I'll make an exception in your case," he said with a sadistic squeal as he started to spin his tail around over his head like a medieval flail. He watched the fear build in Brandon's helpless eyes until finally ... WHAM. He slammed him hard with his tail and sent Brandon flying off. The moment Brandon was hit, all 4 of them became able to move again.

Just as the 3 others regained control of their bodies, they saw Brandon shoot out from around the corner and fly straight into the glass building in front of them.

(Roll: 18)

(When GriffEnd uses this freeze ability, no dodge rolls can be made. Only a successful reflex roll (13+) for half damage. Damage is always done - it's just a matter of whether it is decent damage or horrific damage)

"It will be impossible to do anything to him at this rate!" Caoimhin shouted in anger and turned to Sean. "Sean! You go and help Brandon. You're not strong enough to challenge GriffEnd!"

Caoimhin summoned his Falcata and charged at GriffEnd. If GriffEnd tried to freeze him again then hopefully he could grab GriffEnd in the process to immobilise GriffEnd with him at least then the others can strike some damaging blows to his body. Caoimhin got near to GriffEnd and reached out his left arm to grab at GriffEnd.

As GriffEnd watched with joy as Brandon flew, he breathed in and out. He wasn't used to his new ability and it needed resting, as did he. Just then he felt a tug on his wing. Caoimhin had grabbed a strong hold onto it. GriffEnd looked at him annoyed and said, "Mind letting go?"

GriffEnd yelled out in pain, his body trembled. He let out another scream before he turned his head towards Caoimhin. "You really don't comprehend my freeze powers do you?" He then turned his entire body towards Caoimhin. The difference in body mass was explicitly noticeable. "Grabbing a hold of me really serves you no purpose. Ever hear of the old saying of holding a wolf by the ear. It means you restrict his movements, but you also restrict your own. The same applies here, except for one HUGE difference - I'm no wolf." GriffEnd turned his body slightly away from Caoimhin and then turned back around in shorter than a blink of an eye, not leaving Cao any room to dodge - not that he could, since his hand and falcata were still latched onto GriffEnd. GriffEnd smacked Cao with the blunt edge of his free wing. The impact was so hard it smashed the armor on Cao's left shoulder. The remaining force sent Cao facedown to the ground.

As cao lay there, GriffEnd then grabbed a hold of the falcata still impaled in his wing. He pulled it out and threw it away. He then raised his right leg and stepped on top of Cao's back, pinning him. He pressed Cao deeper and deeper into the ground. "When will you learn to just give up. Now ... where is the Gold one? Why isn't he here?"

"He's temporarily unavailable. You've only got me to fight now." Caoimhin replied and lost some more air in his lungs. "But unfortunately for you, this has helped me a lot." A vortex beneath the two of them. Caoimhin grabbed GriffEnd's leg and dragged him down into the vortex. On the other side of it, they appeared in the air above the sea half a mile away from the Angel Bay beach. "Hope you can swim" mocked Caoimhin as they fell to the ocean.

Nexev watched this go one and sighed. "Your trying to drop a griffen in a lake? Really? That's the greatest plan you can think of? Drop the flying bird lion and hope that it somehow drowns?" Nexev said with exasperation. "Bleh, not like I can follow you anyway, stupid ancient spirits and there magic." Nexev mumbled. Nexev then walked over to where Brandon laid. MAking sure not to further damage him, Nexev moved Brandon away from the broken glass onto a nearby bench. "So you are the little Deus ex MAchina, didn't really turn out to be that great of a hero did you? Allow me to introduce myself, I am Nexev, now you are going to explain how you got that suit and where and when your from. I'm the bad guy, I don't have to use diplomacy, technically I should kill you right now and the issues of your existence will become irrelevant but hey, I'm a curios guy."

GriffEnd grabbed Caoimhin's arm and they seemed to stop falling. he pulled him up and said "You're not the only one here I can fight." The portal was still open and something was sticking out of it, GriffEnd's tail. He retracted it to pull himself up, but just before he did he looked at Caoimhin again and said is a mocking tone "Hope you can swim" as he let Caoimhin go.

GriffEnd reemerged back in the city. He had anchored his tail to the nearby street poll. He unwound it and looked towards Sean and Brandon. "Ah ... the kitty is back. And with his powers sealed like my brother promised a shame though. You were quite entertaining when we first me. Care to dance again. I'd love to see how you handle without powers and just your own pure skill." GriffEnd smirked.

He then recognized the other bystander back. "Ahh .. your still here. Excellent excellent excellent. Were you the one making those sarcastic remarks about the 'bird lion drowning' - I thought i heard that on the other side. Very funny." Griffend actually laughed pleased at this. "You are of interest too."

He then looked at Brandon on the floor, "And you ... still alive. I may be the Master of Mobility, but you certainly are good at hanging in there."

Caoimhin unmorphed before hitting the water knowing how heavy his armor can be. "I failed again!" Caoimhin punched the water in frustration. "So much for being a guardian. Can't even beat one monster right now" Caoimhin just floated in the sea as he tried to think of a why to get back to the others quick enough. Caoimhin turned on his communicator. "Zedren. You think you could get the Lio zord over to my location?"

Nexev chuckled "Maybe you are just losing your touch. Anyway, I unfortunately have orders to deal with you guys. You know how it is. So can you do me a favor? Use that mobility of yours to stop those heart beats of yours." Nexev said as he faced GriffEND. "Or well I guess you can just hit me, that'll probbaly work for you. It's not like your powers of mobility are anything we can stop yet. But hey, their is that saying about bird brains, maybe I'd get lucky."

Nexev chuckled as he summoned his cross, still unmorphed, "This chapter, I wonder exactly how it will end. Say your prayers GriffEND, our fate is beyond our control at this point. Even beyond the control of that silly puppeteer you guys have."

Brandon slowly got up from the rubble and broken glass. He noticed Nevex next to him. "Nevex. I read your file too. Your from another dimension in the same time frame, but the reason is currently unknown. I got the suit from a man in my time. I don't remember exactly because I had a concussion" he looked at GriifEND and smirked. "For a master of mobility, you sure are over-confident." he suddenly disappeared and reappeared next to GriffENd, with the spray can. He used the spray can to spray GriffEND's face, in an attempt to blind him in the bright yellow paint.

GriffEnd twisted his head away in anger. At least this time it didn't hurt as bad as when Dom blinded him, but this did sting - his ego more than anything. As for the moment, he was blinded. These rangers were starting to really get on his nerves, but on the other hand, he did enjoy it this way rather than have them as a push over.

He tried to swing his tail at Brandon, but Brandon was too fast.

(attack: 3+2=5)

-------

Zedren listened to Cao's transmission, "The Lio zord actually isn't at the base right now. I guess it needed some space considering what's happening to it's master. It should be in your area though, so it could pick you up and drop you off back at shore I guess."
