Duel Academy: Destiny's End - Arc 2 - The Approaching Darkness [Started/Accepting via OOC]

As his LP hit 0, Akarui smirked. As Rekeph was being destroyed. Akarui's eyes glowed green for a second. A shadow of a much bigger fiend could be seen until Rekeph was completely destroyed. No one could see his eyes glow. He walked up to Zero "You've fought a hard battle. But that won't be enough to stop what is coming. Zero. You have potential and spirit, but do you have the skills?" Akarui asked before going back to his place at the other end of the area.

 

"Could Brian Jones please move up to area four? Could Kay Zara please move up to area one?" Chancellor Yami asked into the microphone.

[Daxter]

Rex smiled. "Well when you actiavted Eternal Recurrence, I activate my facedown Mystical Space Typhoon to negate the effect. So I'm sorry to say you still don't wanna attack my Swordswoman. But nice try though." Rex was standing there. He wasn't sure why he did that, he wanted to lose, yet he was doing things that could lead to him winning. Even Eaos was confused wwith his actions.

[Zextra]

"Thank you very much for the wonderful duel", Akira said to Lance. "It's been many years since I was able to feel such a thrill dueling like that! I really look forward to being in your class this year". Then, he hurried off, determined to find the "Blue-Eyes Duelist".

 

Akira walked over to Zero. "Hello, my name is Akira. Are you by any chance the duelist with the spirit of the Blue Eyes White Dragon?" Zero confirmed this. Then, Akira pulled out a card. "Here, after seeing your spirit, I decided that you must have this". He handed over the card to Zero.

 

 

Lore:

When this card is activated, place 1 "White Release" Counter on it (max.10). Dragon-Type monsters gain 100 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can discard 1 Dragon-Type monster to place a number of "White Release" Counters on this card equal to half the Level (rounded down) of the discarded monster. When there are no "White Release" Counters on this card, destroy it. You can remove any number of "White Release" Counters from this card to activate 1 of the following effects:

- Add 1 monster with "Blue-Eyes" in its name or is named "White Stone of Legend", "Paladin of White Dragon", or "Kaibaman" with a Level equal to the number of "White Release" Counters removed.

- Special Summon 1 monster with "Blue-Eyes" in its name or is named "White Stone of Legend", or "Kaibaman" from your Hand with a Level equal to the number of "White Release" Counters removed.

"Huf, huf, huf. Man, that took too much energy out of me to summon both Shining AND F.G.D. All at once. Huf, huf. Oh hey, I can sense Blue-Eyes again. Well, that's good that he's back with me, but now I've got to talk to Ikira, and find out what connections he has with the Dragonfire." Zero thought. Zero walked up to Ikira. "Hey, how's it going?" Zero asked casually. Ikira handed Zero the "Burst Draconic Colloseum" card. "Where... Where did you get this card?" Zero asked, Now apparently very interested.

[Zextra]

"Hi, congratulations on winning your duel! Oh, I won it at a tournament many years ago; I was told it was one of a kind, and I feel you and your Blue-Eyes share a special bond, so I would like you to have it - I mean, otherwise, how would you be able to unlock and free its spirit? Anyways, you seemed like you wanted to ask me something. Was there something you want from me?"

[Guest Dementuo]

"A couple of things, actually. First off, where did you get this card?" Ikira responed, and asked why Zero wanted to know. "This card... Is a representation of the Hall of the Dragonfire. This is no ordinary card. I've actually been looking for this card for a while now, so, thanks! Second, how much do you know about Lunar Marks and the Dragonfire?" Zero asked, Hoping to find an answer.

[Zextra]

"Wait a second, what in the world are you talking about? What are Lunar Marks and Dragonfire? Nobody's ever told me before" Akira said, unknowingly.

 

Note: Akira is the youngest in his family, and he his parents decided to keep everything away from him; then, they mysteriously disappeared when he was 7, leaving him even more clueless...

[Guest Dementuo]

*Sigh* "You really don't know, do you? Well I'll tell you. You see this on my left hand?" Zero took off his glove, Revealing his Lunar Mark. "That's a Lunar Mark. They are what seperates people like me, from poeple like them, over there. Now, the Dragonfire is a Source of Lunar Energy that is guarded by people like me. We make sure that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. You would be surprised to know that only people with Lunar Energy within themselves can see Duel Spirits. And while that is, only those with Extremely high Energy Signatures are made Guardians, And you have one higher than mine, so... May I see your left hand, and the card of the Spirit that protects you?" Zero asked.

[Zextra]

"Well, I guess" Akira shows Zero his left hand as well as his Crepuscule Aurora Dragon, apparently really confused. "What is this guy talking about?" Akira thought "and what does it have to do with me?" Right then, the spirit of Crepuscule Aurora Dragon appeared behind him.

When this card destroys a monster by battle, place 1 Revival Ray Counter on it (max. 4). You can halve your Life Points to remove all Revival Ray Counters from this card. For each Revival Ray Counter removed this way, you can Special Summon 1 monster from your opponent's Graveyard. Halve the ATK of all monsters Special Summoned this way. During each of your End Phases, gain Life Points equal to the number of monsters you control x300.

"No way. That's not possible." Zero muttered to himself. "I know you don't understand any of this, but it appears that you are a Guardian of the Dragonfire, and this is a Lunar Dragon, like mine. I should also tell you that one of your relatives was also a Guardian. His name was Mahadrah Tanaka. Do you know him?" Zero asked?

[Spirit of DMG]

Damen stood up, still panting. "Yeah, yeah, I think I'll skip the ham next time." He activated his duel disk, and wiped his brow. "So, I see you like to get straight to the point. Off to a strong start. Well, let's see what I have in store." He said, drawing five cards, checked what he had, and then drew a sixth. "Alright, well, I don't have as strong a start as you, but I do have this," he said, "One Armed Dragon LV3 to the field in attack (1200/900) and one face down." he said, as the dragon appeared.

[Zextra]

"I doubt it" Akira replied. "As I've said, all my family secrets have been kept from me. Anyways, do you know who this 'Mahadrah' is? I think I need to know if it really is something as important as you say it is. Also, I'm not the only other one on this ship that can see Spirits; i met a kid named Rex who has a Spirit of Guardian Eatos, and the guy with the Earthbound Immortal. What's so special about me?"

Madame Clive nodded, instantly analyzing her opponent's strategy. The facedown was obviously some form of protection for his dragon, for it would be no match for either of her monsters otherwise, and in order for it to level up, he'd need it alive during the next turn.

 

"I'm disappointed in you, Mr. Exposito. My turn," she said, drawing. She could push for the advantage and summon Relinquished, stealing his monster and having an attack force of 4600, enough to win the duel. And even if he had a card to stop her from winning, it would keep him from leveling up his dragon.

 

"I activate the Black Illusion Ritual," she said, smiling softly. "I tribute the Djinn, Disserere of Rituals from my hand to summon Relinquished!" A flame surrounded a small monster and faded away, smoke billowing out onto the field. A strange, spherical monster with a glowing gold eye materialized. (Lvl 1, 0/0)

 

"Relinquished's Effect! I take one monster on your field and equip it to Relinquished! Then, Relinquished takes on the stats of the stolen monster!" Madame Clive announced. Relinquished's eye glowed and its frontal body opened into two wing-like appendages, the monster's gaping mouth inhaling the small dragon.

Relinquished glowed momentarily, the imprint of the dragon appearing in the wing. (ATK: 1200)

 

"I shall declare 3 direct attacks, in the order of Tricky, Sonic Bird, and Relinquished!"

"Were you even listening? I said that your Lunar Energy Signature is higher than mine." Zero repeated. "Here, I'll show you." Zero put his left hand next to Akira's left hand. Zero's Luna Mark started glowing, and slowly, another one formed on Akira's left hand as well. "You see? You are a Guardian." Zero said. "You bear the Mark of the Dragon's Head. I bear the Mark of the Crescent. You are connected to the Dragonfire, and your Crepuscule Dragon is proof of it." Zero said.

Brian moved to 2 as they asked. He was actually scared. He didn't think his dark deck had a chance so he just wanted to try his best. He would never try and show it. He wanted to impress and so he walked tall and was ready. "So who do I duel. i want to get this over with and just eat. Ha and duel some more. Anyone that duels me will lose. Even the teachers. I am the one and only, EBI holder!" "To bad I lost thoughs cards." He said to himself.

[Spirit of DMG]

"Well, that certainly throws a monkey wrench into the gears, doesn't it?" watching as his dragon was taken from his side of the field. "Let's see, if you attack me this turn, then things will certainly not go my way. In fact they already aren't, but, I feel that this turn is going to be a stalemate." He activated the face-down card he'd placed. "With the Threatening Roar Trap Card, you can't declare an attack this turn. The best part is, there are no activating conditions."

Madame Clive merely smiled. Her suspicion about his facedown card had proved to be correct. "Very well, I shall end my turn. I do hope you do your best this next turn. I'll accept nothing less. Your turn."

 

She smiled at Damen as her three monsters settled down, eyeing the applicant carefully. She had high expectations of every student that she tested, and this young man had yet to prove his worth. But it was still early in the match, and she was confident he could turn things around yet.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know any more than that. If I can ever get ahold of my brother, then he'll explain it to you, but that won't happen any time soon so, sorry, but you just have to live with this fact for a while. After we're done with Duel Academy, then I'll give you a visit, and then you'll learn everything, alright?" Zero Explained.

[Spirit of DMG]

"Okay, she's got two face-downs and a lot of attack power. I don't dare strike Relinquished, because I'll take the same damage she does, not to mention he'll still be there, waiting to take whatever stronger monster I've got. Luckily, he can only have one of my monsters, and his evolution is on the Banned List. Then there's that Tricky. Don't know much about it, but I don't think it's called "The Tricky" for nothing. Sonic Birds effect is a Summon Effect, so I don't have to worry about that too much." he thought, preparing to draw. "Here goes...something," he said, drawing that card at the end. He managed to keep a straight face, and played a spell card. "Well, there's really only one thing I can do at this point, and that's play Polymerization!" he said, a swirl of energy appearing on the field, he discarded three cards from his hand, and then three dragons were all sucked into the vortex. "Now, say 'Hello' to my beast! The mighty Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon! (4500/3800)" he said, a three-headed dragon appearing behind him, all six eyes locked on Madame Clive.

"I think I'll go ahead and play this face-down, then go ahead and attack your Tricky!"

"Ok, thanks for telling me this information. Just one more question: If I'm a Guardian, then shouldn't my brother be one too? He attended school here and graduated in just 1 year, but he never said anything about a Guardian of the Dragonfire, and did your brother attend school here too?"

Kay heard his name being called. "Well, looks like it's my turn. I wonder what deck I should use? I'll just go with deck number 2." Kay walked over to area 1 where Akarui is at. "Hello Sir. It's nice to meet you. I'm ready for this duel so let's get things started. (Alright, now time to focus on the goal. I haven't been using this deck as much but I always have strategies for this deck as well.)" Kay activated his duel disk and drew five cards.

"So my next opponent will be Brian Jones huh? Well let's see what he can do shall we?" Lance awaited Brian's arrival.

[Guest Dementuo]

"What?! Someone with Blue-Eyes besides me?! Huh, interesting." Zero thought. "I should look into that. Maybe I'll find out something about how I got here, and why I'm here in the first place." Zero continued thinking. "Well, this just keeps getting interesting. First that "Blackwing" kid Akira, now this. Plus that Akarui guy. there's just something about him that I don't trust..." Zero thought.

[evilfusion]

"A lesson to all aspiring duelists is never to place their bets on a single monster, particularly not one that requires so much of an investment for so little profit. I activate my facedown, the Continuous Trap, Scrubbed Raid," Madame Clive explained, shaking her head.

 

"For the small price of sending one card I control to the Grave, I end the Battle Phase. I shall send Armed Dragon Lv3, lowering Relinquished back to 0, but your Battle Phase comes to a close."

 

Relinquished's imprint faded away and the Ultimate Dragon backed down. (ATK: 0)

 

"You have no cards in your hand at this time and even if that facedown is a Quick-Play Spell, you cannot activate it the turn you set it. So your turn has likely come to an end."

 

Madame Clive drew her card.

 

"Relinquished will activate its effect! I will now absorb your Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon into Relinquished, and increase its ATK to a mighty 4500, the same as your dragon's power."

 

The spherical monster's eye glowed with an eerie light and it moved to inhale the three-headed Dragon.

Relinquished enveloped the monster, the enormous dragon somehow fitting within the creature's body. (ATK: 4500)

"I'm Akarui. But in class you will be referring to me as Mr. Yami. Kay, are you prepared?" Akarui explained as he activated his Duel Disk and drew five cards "You can take the first move." Akarui stated as he awaited Kay's turn.

 

"....... Hmmmmmm." Chancellor Yami stated as he watched the beginning of Kay's and Akarui's duel "(Akarui usually takes the first turn.......... What could he be up to? Must have something to do with the dueling conditions.....)" Chancellor Yami thought.

 

Akarui's eyes glowed green for a slight second, making all non-in duel Duel Spirits disappear. No one could see his eyes glow.
