Duel Academy: Destiny's End - Arc 2 - The Approaching Darkness [Started/Accepting via OOC]

"You're getting a little ahead of yourself, I see," Madame Clive spoke calmly. She did nothing as her Tricky shattered apart by her opponent's spell, but a facedown card flipped up when her opponent activated Heavy Storm. "It would be foolish of me to do nothing here, so I activate the Trap Card Starlight Road!"

 

Her trap shimmered, deflecting the storm from her cards, the winds dying down quickly. "When two or more of my cards are under threat of destruction, this card neutralizes that effect!" The spell shattered apart harmlessly, leaving two facedown cards behind the remaining monster.

 

She obediently discarded Relinquished and the Black Illusion Ritual from her hand and drew two cards neatly from her deck. She merely watched as Yakori made a big display over his Dark Synchro Summon. "3600 ATK points? Unfortunate all that power won't be helping you! I activate the continuous Trap, Tuner's Scheme!"

 

A second of her Traps flipped up and the instructor shook her head. "So many students, so eager to spend so many resources to summon a single powerful monster, thinking they'll have their opponent beat. Unfortunately for you, this is the type of deck mine defeats. Tuner's Scheme can be activated when my opponent Special Summons a Synchro monster, and make no mistakes about it, a Dark Synchro monster is still a class of Synchro monster, meaning this card still affects it. Therefore, the summoned monster is placed on my side of the field."

 

As she spoke, Yakori's monster turned to face its former master. (ATK: 3600) "You seem to be short on cards. You've used Smashing Ground, Heavy Storm, Card Destruction, which means 3 new cards. Of them, you've used Dark Summoning, Dark Tuner Nightmare Hand, and the card you discarded for Dark Summoning's cost. You have no cards in your hand or on the field, demonstrating your lack of foresight in this duel."

 

"Is it my turn or will you surrender now?" Madame Clive asked coolly. "You've used up every card in your hand and you have nothing in play."

Avirre woke up the instant Yoroi was Grabbed, and she took quick action. "Waboku!" She bellowed, Then Suddenly, Yoroi was completely unaffected by the hand, and in enough time so that her Dragons could destroy the hand very easily, After all, The Hand was Very weak. But After Avirre took care of the Dark Hand, She ppunt her hand on Yoroi's Shoulder and said "Yea, I heard that there was a knife somewhere in your pocket..." At which Takitsukai had a very Smug look to him....

[The White Wolf]

At the sight of Yakori losing, the men at the table of Dark Duel Academy had a discussion "We cannot afford to lose this one! We must keep him from losing!" one of them expained "Yes. Retreat Yakori."another man stated. A black hole appeared. It sucked Yakori and released Kid Akarui. The Blank Card that supplied the barrier retreated into the black hole. "What happened?" Kid Akarui asked before passing out...

Yakori reappeared in the Duel Academy woods....

"It was simply for protection, it's something I don't carrying but this is a bit of a tricky situation." Yoroi sighed, he quickly pulled out the red switchblade he had in his pocket and threw it as far as he could into the forest.

 

"It looks like you saved me once again, and I thought I was going to play the role of the hero this time around." Yoroi smiled, which was weird for him, he didn't smile much. "You are ok aren't you? There was a lot of negative energy in that place, and a duel as well."

[Blackstone Dresden]

Kenshin, meanwhile, was still wandering across campus, though he was yet to spot a teacher or student. He kicked a rock along for a couple feet, "Wow, you'd think that the Academy would make sure to kick the failures off the island." He muttered, accidentally knocking the rock he was kicking into the grass, "Heh, guess a Rock deck's out whenever I get off this island..." He joked, though he immediately stopped talking, "Guys," He said, speaking to The Six Samurai, "I'm sorry I failed you." He let out a saddened sigh and kept walking down the road, hoping to either find a teacher or the failure boat.

[~Duo~]

Zetaru started and quickly jumped up with a yelp, as he thought he saw a hand made of nothing but darkness (which he thought was just his imagination). As soon as he attempted to get a closer look, it has vanished. Shaking his head, he felt the urge to go outside for some fresh air. He did so, then another urge, even stronger this time, nearly forced him towards the woods of Duel Academy. Unable to fight the urge, he walked towards where the force was pulling him and thought he saw a glimpse of a boy behind the trees. He, interested and also being pulled by the force, decided to go check it out.

Madame Clive frowned as the student disappeared into some sort of a black hole, likely a portal of some kind. As the barrier around her faded, she deactivated her disk, the holograms fading. With an air of calmness, she regathered her cards into her deck. "That was...very odd," she mused. However, despite her calm exterior, there was a nagging worry in her mind. Whoever that boy had been, he was dangerous. This would be something she would need to report to the Chancellor, to warn him and to have students be on alert.

 

"Hm? In his sudden departure, he didn't take this card back," Madame Clive noted, studying the black bordered card still upon her Disk arm. She studied it for several moments. "Dark Destroyer..."

[The White Wolf]

The hand wasn't affected by the attacks. It grabbed one of the dragons' neck and started to choke it. All attacks would go right through the hand. The hand kept on choking the dragon until it decided to retreat. The hand did the same to the other dragons before grabbing Takitsukai. Preparing to steal his soul and corrupt him.

The card Dark Destroyer disappeared from Madame Clive's Duel Disk....

Yakori picked up a small pocket knife and threw it at the tree beside Zetaru's head "I see you..." he stated with a smirk.

[ANBU]

Kazu removes Absorbus, The light Absorber from the duel disk, Placing Tornadus, The Spin in his place. Kazu steps outside with Tornadus before being lifted and flying over the island held by Tornadus as he sees Kenshin walking along by himself. Kazu then removes Tornadus from the Duel disk and it dissappears as he lands down infront of Kenshin. Kazu's cloak covering his face as he stands, having crouched when he landed as he looked at Kenshin. "shouldn't you be at your Dorm by now..?" he asks curiously as he looks at Kenshin. "hm.. I wonder whether peter has realized I'm here yet" he thinks to himself as he waits for Kenshin's answer.

[Blackstone Dresden]

"No dorm. No Deck. No Duel Disk even." Kenshin said, sighing, "I failed the entrance exams and I sorta got lost looking for the boat back to the mainland." He sighed yet again, sorrow and annoyance in equal measure, "And yes, I do realize that I got here on a boat, but apparently the captain wasn't told to take back all the failures... Or, rather, failure, since quite literally every single student managed to pass the exams except for me." He sighed and punched a tree in frustration, "I was the top Duelist within ten blocks of my.... where I live, and yet, when it mattered, I couldn't beat a simple Ritual Deck. The most important Duel in my life, and I blew it."

Peter couldn't sense Absorbus, but he felt tornadus's energy. Remembering Blood Spawn Dragon's Instructions. Peter forced his sorrow down around his wrist. Dark mist appeared around Peter's arm. The mist got thicker an thicker, untill it resembled a duel disk. Peter started to run threw the hallways. He rushed out the door that led outside. Peter threw his favorite card on the duel disk, Blood Red Dragon of Dark Realm!

 

The huge dragon appeared threw the duel disk. "Peter... something is nearby!" The dragon said.

 

"Yeah, I know that!" Peter climbed on to the dragon. "Lets go!". With that, the dragon launched into the air.

[Spirit of DMG]

Damen was walking around, wearing his Slifer Biker Jacket. "Hm, who's there?" he asked, having heard someone. He walked over to where he had heard whoever it was. "Oi, who are you?" he asked, having seen Kenshin leaning up against a tree. "I thought this island was uninhabited. Well, other than the fact Academy students and their teachers live here." he said, hands in his pockets, attempting to come off as conversational, only mildly interested, when what he wanted to ask was "What do you think you're doing not even wearing a jacket!"

[ANBU]

Kazu then looks at Kenshin a slight look of suprise on his unseen face, his hand then holding Damen back. "Slifer.. we're getting this sorted out" he says his voice calm. "If you didn't make it into the Academy you wouldn't have been on the boat... you may have lost the entrance exam duel but that just decides which dorm you are in.." he says to Kenshin. Kazu then turns around "you wouldn't mind accompanying me to the Chancellors office to see which Dorm you are in would you?" he asks kindly not facing Kenshin as his duel disk appears on his hand. Kazu then places down his Ninja of Elements - Dual Dragons, the two Dragons appearing either side of him. "if you want to leave you still can.. just get onto the dragon to my left" he says calmly as he just then sees Peter on the dragon flying up into the air, "hm... I wonder what he could be thinking.. he must have felt Tornadus' power" he thinks to himself

With the distraction of the shadow hand choking the life out of Avirre's dragon, a card had somehow materialized into Yoroi's hand. It took a few moments but the teen noticed that held Cold Wave in his hand. //Maybe... just maybe I can use cards like Avirre, I mean I create the same energy as her right? Why couldn't I be able too...//

 

"Cold... Wave..." Ice quickly jagged out from the ground underneath the hand, in casing it in a thick ice coating. //Now's our chance...// "Avirre... have your spirits follow us, it's now or never." Ignoring the hand, Yoroi dashed off with Avirre still in his hands, rushing to get to the yellow dorm as fast as possible.

[Blackstone Dresden]

"They're called the Entrance Exams, not the Placement Exams." Kenshin told Kazu, getting on the dragon on the right, "The chancellor will explain it. You'll see, I was a mistake. I never should have been on the boat to begin with. I'm not even a Slifer Red, I'm nothing." Kenshin sighed, "Besides, I don't have a single card, so even if the chancellor feels sorry for me and admits me as a Slifer, I'll fail every Dueling exam by default." He sighed and wished there was something within punching distance, "The captain was right. I'll fail out of here in a month if it takes me that long."

[Techi☺]

Peter just flew into a area where 2,maybe 3 people where talking. As he got closer there was a man and 2 kids. But then something happened... two dragons appeared near the man, there was no doubt about it, that man was the one who summoned tornadus. "lets go down there!" Peter pointed to the people.

 

"Peter... that man has your powers" Blood Red Dragon grumbled.

 

Peter was confused. "how could that guy have my power?" Peter asked the Dragon.

 

"I don't know..." Blood Red Dragon let out a big roar as they landed.

 

"who are you?" Peter asked the man.

[ANBU]

"well then.. what did you do with your cards?" Kazu asks his voice calm as he looks back at Kenshin, the duel disk on his arm having the card sitting in the middle of it. "they are called the entrance exams because they decide which dorm you will be put in upon your entrance" he says as he moves to the side. "and if you don't believe me I guess we'll go right now if you want.." he says as he looks over at Damen. "Slifer.. if you don't have anything to do you can come along and see that he is a student if you want.." Kazu says as he gets onto the dragon. He then looks down at Peter his other dragon circling around behind his dragon, "you should remember me.. afterall who else would have got the same powers as you, Peter" he says kindly.

Damen blinked. Several times. "uhhh, dude. You do know no one was supposed to actually win. In fact, I don't think anyone actually managed to beat the examiners. They're the teachers here, and they were using their own personal decks. We were graded on how we dueled, not whether we won. That Clive chick...that Scrubbed Raid/Relinquished combo of hers...my White dragons were obliterated...Not to mention I was completely schooled about my own cards..." He said, giving a one-syllable chuckle at the end and looking at the ground, his hand placed on the back of his head.

[Blackstone Dresden]

((OK, Anzu, you said that Kenshin got on the Dragon, which he did, then you say that you're waiting for Kenshin to get on the dragon. If you're not gonna read my posts, at least be consistent about what you're BSing that my post said))

 

Kenshin sighed, "Ya, look, just take me to the chancellor so I can find my ticket off this island and maybe get my deck back from the boat captain or point me towards his office and I'll walk there myself." The former Samurai Duelist shook his head, he had always had hallucinations, but usually they only involved his cards moving, now, he was dreaming up flying dragons and three students, I'm losing my mind... He thought sullenly, Figures, I lost everything else today, now I get to lose the remaining scraps of my sanity.

The air around Peter grew cold. He thought back to what happened...

"No, you can't be.." Peter mumbled to himself

"Peter?" Blood Red Dragon nudged him a bit, the big dragon was worried."Who is this man?" it thought to itself.

"It couldn't be him... he is dead. He died!" Peter thought to himself. "Why here, Why now?"

"Whats wrong, Peter?" The Dragon was vary confused.

" He... He is m- He is my brother!" Peter anounced "But how? You where dead!"

[ANBU]

"I was only unconscious, not dead, Peter I also suggest you don't look into what happened after that.." Kazu says his voice not showing much emotion as he looks back into the air. "Now.. I guess I've got to get you to the Chancellors office so you can realise you still belong here" he says to Kenshin as the Dragon starts to fly, the other dragon flying below it. "the Boat Captain?.. so you gave it to the Boat Captain.. I wouldn't have expected that anyone would give up their deck on the way to the Island" he says as the Dragons gets closer to the main building, Kazu sitting there on the dragon watching the building.

Thanatos could only smile. Up ahead was a person, with a common universal name. He then appeared to the person and only laughed. "Alright, alright....." He said. He gave off another evil laugh for no reason, but the laugh made the air turn cold. He faced Akira and grinned.

"Who am I, you might ask? My name is of no importance, but you can call me Than."

[Blackstone Dresden]

"I didn't give my deck to the captain, I left it in a crate." Kenshin explained, "My deck fell, almost literally, into my hands one day. I know it sounds stupid, but I figure since you're just a product of my lost sanity, I may as well tell you about, since I'm pretty much talking to myself. My deck chose me, and whenever I Dueled with it, I always got a sense of acceptance." He looked down, "Until I failed to make it into the Academy, then I only got a sense of disappointment from them. The Six Samurai knew that they had chosen wrong, so I let someone else take them. Maybe eventually they'll make it to their real owner. The one that can unlock their potential." His eyes never strayed from the dragon's scales, Gotta admit, when I go insane, at least I pay attention to detail. These even feel like real scales. When Kazu looked over at Kenshin, he saw that not only was the former Samurai Duelist truly upset over having to abandon his cards, he was also surrounded by a faint blue glow, complete with several pieces of samurai armor, though he either seemed to be unaware of that, or chalked it up to his perceived insanity.

[Zextra]

"What do you want? Judging from your outfit, it seems to me that you don't belong here. In fact, you're wearing the same outfit as that kid from earlier" Akira looked at Than sternly as he recalled the duelist who had used Dimensionhole which sucked up Kid Akarui. "I usually don't get upset, but after what your friend did to Akarui, I'm starting to get angry" Akira, for the first time in several years, had an enraged, cold look in his eyes.

[~Duo~]

Zetaru's eyes widened at the incoming knife and he flinched instinctively. However, he felt his duel disk burn and the knife became a black flame and fell to the ground, burning itself out. Completely astonished, he managed to say weakly, "Who... are you?" Some odd, familiar force seemed to root Zetaru to the floor, he believed he could not have ran away even if it was his deepest desire. Then, the very same force urged him into saying four words he would always regret.

 

"I want to duel."
