Duel Academy: Destiny's End - Arc 2 - The Approaching Darkness [Started/Accepting via OOC]

Brian saw some guy walking. he was still thinking about a deck. In the past Brian was a straight a student and was not a duelist. When he started he could not stop. He was as competitve as he is now. He was wondering if wagered duels allowed. His duel spirit stared at Akira and said hi. Brian sat back down thinking over the outcome of the duel.

"Akarui will win." He said it loud enough for a few people to here then he grabbed his bag and dug through it. He pulled out something and equipped it to the duel disk.

His disk was black and light blue like the pictures of the Earthbound Immortals. His had tally marks and above it had "Wins" in light blue. He had 42 tally marks under wins and on the other side was the part he added."Loses" it said and under it was 1 tally.

 

He remembered when he first started to duel. his friend let him have a deck and spare cards. Brian looked through them made some adjustments and dueled. He lost first match but won everyone up until now.

[The White Wolf]

Akarui drew his card "I play Metal Doll in attack mode." [ATK: 1600] "Now by his effect you get control of him." Akarui explained "I play Heavy Storm." Akarui stated "Now Metal Warrior LV6, take out Metal Doll with Dark Slash!" Akarui declared as Metal Warrior LV6 slashed the Metal Doll with its scythe. Followed by the snake-like arm grabbing the doll and dragging it towards Metal Warrior LV6, the three tentacle-like things stabbed the doll, destroying it. Zero LP: 3300 "Now I play Metal Recycle. Returning a Spell Card to my hand the turn a monster with Metal in its card name is destroyed. And I add Level Up to my hand." Akarui explained "And now I activate Metal Reincarnation. Adding a Metal monster to my hand from my graveyard. And I choose Metal Doll." Akarui explained as he added the card to his hand "Now I activate Level Up leveling up Metal Warrior LV6 into Metal Warrior LV8." Akarui explained as Metal Warrior LV6 changed shape and form "I end my turn with this face-down." Akarui stated.

 

"(This isn't like Akarui, he's going easy on the kid!)" chancellor Yami thought.

I Activate Trade In, So I draw two more cards, and discard another Blue-Eyes." Zero said. "Now I activate Future Fusion!" Zero continued, as he searched through his Deck. He pulled out White Stone of Legend x3, a Debris Dragon, and a Magna Drago. "The effects of my White Stones let's me add all three Blue-Eyes to my hand! Then I remove my Strong Wind Dragon to Summon another Red-Eyes! Then, using both my Red-Eyes, I Special Summon a White Stone and a Magna Drago. Finally, I sacrifice both Red-Eyes for a Blue-Eyes!" Zero continued on, as a dull hologram of Blue-Eyes appeared. " I'm Tuning my Blue-Eyes with my White Stone!" (1 + 8 = 9) "I Synchro Summon My Ace Monster! Take Flight, Crescent Shadow Dragon!!!" Zero exclaimed. "Through the effects of my Dragon, I add Bottomless Trap Hole, Solomn Judgement, and Mirror Force! Then I Tune my Dragon with my Magna Drago! I Synchro Summon Eclipse Dragon! Through his effect, you can't activate Trap Cards this turn. I use his second effect. I reveal my hand, and I can attack you for every Trap Card in my Hand! There are Four Traps in my Hand, so I can attack you 4 times. I attack you with my Dragon, Your Warrior first, then your Shield, then You." the Lunar Mark on Zero's Left Hand was glowing now, as his Dragon started to attack. "This is the end of you!"

Brian heard Zero synchro summoning and he stood up. He saw Eclipse Dragon and has smiling. He had brought out his ace card. This took Brian back to the days of his Earthbound Immortal deck when is ace card was Dark Eyed Dragon, a fusion between Hundred eyes Dragon and Sinister Sprocket. He was amazed at the duel. He pulled out his duel disk and decided to walk over to Akira.

Kay had arrived early and sat far away from the duel, looking through his cards. "Alright, I'm all set for the entrance exam. That duel over there must be getting intense." Kay looked over to the crowd of people watching the duel. "I can see some of them have duel spirits.... This will be quite an interesting year...."

 

"Umm, excuse me is this seat taken?" Felicity stood there eyeing the chair. "Huh, oh no go right ahead." Kay responded as he turned back to duel. Felicity sat down and looked at the crowd of people watching the duel. "(I wonder who's dueling who?)" Felicity thought to herself. Rick pushed through the crowd of people in order to see the duel. "Finally, a good view. Man, from what I was hearing, wow this kid's Eclipse Dragon is crazy strong, I wonder how'll that teacher counter?" Rick asked himself as his eyes were fixed on the duel.

 

Lance was on the ship watching the duel from afar. One hand was holding a mug of coffee an the other hand was placed in his pocket. "Already huh? Akarui doesn't waste anytime. Let's see how'll the duel play out...." Lance sipped his coffee and continue to watch.

Brian was fixed on thoughts of a counter and man was he not liking it. Brian's spirit was looking at the boy who just pushed through the crowd.

"Wow how so rude" Wiraqocha Rasca said in a voice similar to C.C. in Code Geass. Brian turned around and sat next to Kay not knowing who he was at all. Kay seemed to smile once Brian's spirit caught up.

Kay looked to Brian with a friebdly smile. "Hi there I'm Kay nice to meet you and your duel spirit. If you're wondering, yes, I can see duel spirits. I also have one myself." Suddenly, Gladiator Beast Octavius appeared besides Kay. "It's a pleasure to meet you two." Octavius said as he wave hello to Brian and Wiraqocha Rasca. Felicity was nearby and heard what Kay said about duel spirits. Felicity herself can also see duel spirits and she also has multiple duel spirits being so close to her deck and all. "(I wonder if I should say anything?)" Felicity thought to herself.

"O cool he said to Kay. Hey do you want to duel?"

Brian looked at the girl as he got up. She looked at him and Kay.

"My duel spirit says hello, ms." Brian looked out and saw more duel spirits.

"O sheet!"

Everyone that was watching the duel to see what happened this time. Brian smiled and said sorry.

Across the stage from Damen in area 3, a woman stood at attention. Her blonde hair fluttered at her shoulders, settling nicely next to the high collar of the blue coat she was wearing. She gazed at him from behind her square-rimmed glasses and her mouth was a white line of seriousness.

 

"You should have been more prompt, Mr. Exposito," she told him calmly, but with a sharp note to confirm that this was a stern warning. "I am Madame Harriet Clive, one of the Academy instructors and I'm sure you can guess my role in this test."

 

She gave him a faint smile. "I expect nothing but the best quality work from applicants, and if you do not provide top-notch work, your score will suffer for it. Do not think of me as mean, but as preparing you for your future. You won't get far by coasting along. Now, without further ado..." she raised her arm, showing an inactive Duel Disk, which activated as she spoke.

 

"Don't dawdle in preparing," she warning, drawing five cards swiftly, and then a sixth. "I shall make the opening move," she continued.

 

"I'll start by summoning my Sonic Bird," Madame Clive said. An eagle-like creature appeared on the field, wearing goggles over its eyes. (Lvl 4, 1400/1000) "When she is summoned, I add one Ritual Spell from my deck to my hand, and I choose the Black Illusion Ritual."

 

"I shall then discard one card from my hand to Special Summon The Tricky," she said, placing the added card into her Graveyard and playing a card. A clown-like spellcaster materialized, its head marked with a question mark. (Lvl 5, 2000/1200)

 

"I shall then activate the Preparation of Rites," Harriet continued smoothly. "This lets me select one Level 7 or below Ritual from my deck and add it to my hand. I select Relinquished from my deck. I then have the option of placing a Ritual Spell from my Graveyard into my hand, and I'll retrieve my discarded Black Illusion Ritual."

 

She gave Damen a tight smile. "I end my turn by setting these two facedown cards. I do hope you were paying attention."

"Hm?!" Thought Zero. "There are more Duel Spirits than I've ever seen here. And it seems that this Akarui guy has one of his own, but I can't see it. What in the hell is going on here? This can't just be coincidence that there are this many Spirit Holders here, but the Chancellor seems Ok, which means that someone else is behind this... but who, and why?" Zero continued to think to himself.

"A duel? Oh sorry, I can't. I have to save my strategies for the entrance exam. There might be teachers watching us, and I don't want to give away my strategy that I use during every duel. I kinda have to use it to get the upper hand, but I'll duel with you sometime after the exam." Kay stated. Kay then looked over to Felicity as well, sensing a strong spiritual energy emanating from her. Felicity blushed at the two. "Umm h-hi there...." Felicity said shyly not knowing what else to say. "(I thought I keep my energy hidden.... Aw man, now I'm stuck in a tight position....)" Felicity thought to herself.

"More duels!" Brian said with enthusiasm.

"Kay! We will duel and I put my up my Ace Card-Ally of Justice Light Gazer!"

It seemed as if the action had just begun.

Brian now turned to Kay and asked if she was afraid of revealing here spirits.

"Well I don't know about putting my ace up. I'm kinda too attached to it." Kay stated. Kay turned back to Felicity and smiled. "You must be really attached to your deck because your spiritual energy signature is stronger than my own." Kay stated. "Oh I see.... Well I had my deck since I was really young so I guess I would have a strong bond with it...." Felicity then turned to face Brian. "I'm not afraid of revealing them but I just want them to be comfortable in their cards...." Felicity responded, her head was still down.

That's cool. Brian's duel spirit was making noises. He saw heard it say ritual and he looked in the direction of the new duel. Brian had no idea what it wanted in rituals. Brian sat down and looked at Gazer. He showed his ace card to Kay and said this was just the tip of the iceberg.

"I wanna duel."

[Daxter]

Rex was watching some of these duels take place. Wow, some of these students are pretty good huh Eatos? But like every time, she didn't say anything, she just nodded her head. I can't wait till I get to duel though, cause this first duel will be for my sister...she always wanted to be in Slifer Red here, and thats where I'm gonna go. Rex wanted to make his big sister proud, so he would do anything to get into the dorm that she always wanted to be in. Even though it is a low class dorm.

Lance looked at the schedule and it was time to begin his first entrance exam duel. "Excuse me! I'm looking for someone named Akira Tanaka!" Lance called out as he looked at the schedule. "(After this, I got a couple more exams to give out before my job is done. I hope I'm facing against a strong opponent. They'll need to be tough if they want to past my class in the future....)" Lance thought to himself as he awaited for Akira to show up.

Akira heard his name being called and quickly returned to his assigned arena. There, he came face-to face with his duel examiner: Lance Kaser. "H-hello. I'm Akira. It's an honor to be here", he greeted shakily. Akira put on his duel disk and slipped his deck in the card slot. The duel disk activated and the computerized voice from his duel disk read "Opponent Recognized: Lance Kaser - Duel Commenicng".

"Well it's nice to meet you Akira. Now let's get things started shall we?" Lance activated his duel disk and drew five cards. "I'll be going first. Good luck. I'll be assigning your dorm by the way you duel, so let's try to impress shall we?" Lance joked as he drew his sixth card. "Alright, first up I'm summoning Koa'ki Meiru Sandman in attack mode [ATK:1900]. Then I'll place two cards face-down. Your move Akira." Lance said casually. He wanted the students not to feel tense so they can duel at their maximum skill level.

Akira drew 5 cards from his deck. "My move!", he declared as he drew another card from his deck. "I'll start with the Spell Card Heavy Storm which destroys both your facedowns!" A giant twister appeared and sucked in both of Lance's facedown cards. "Now, I;m summoning my Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn. Then, since I have a Blackwing on the field, I can Special Summon these!" Akira held up 2 more cards: Blackwing - Bora the Spear and Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind. "Now, my Gale's ability activates, halving your Sandman's ATK, leaving it with only 950! Then, I tune my Bora with my Gale to Synchro Summon Blackwing Armor Master!" A giant muscular humanoid with black armor from head to toe appeared from a tornado. Next, I'm using Sirocco's ability to pool the strength of both my Blackwings to my Armor Master, raising his ATK to 4500. Then, I;m activating Swallow's Nest to Tribute my SIrocco to Special SUmmon another one from my deck! Then, the cycle repeats itself - My Sirocco raises my Armor Master's ATK by another 2000! With 6500 ATK, my Armor Master destroys your Sandman!" The black-armored creature flapped its wings and sent a black gust towards Sandman.

"I activate one of my face-downs, Iron Core Luster! By revealing one Iron Core of the Koa'ki Meiru in my hand, your spell is negated and destroyed. I'll also activate Automatic Laser, which by revealing my Iron Core of the Koa'ki Meiru once again, your Blackwing - Sirocco the Dawn is destroyed. I'm sorry, but you'll have to find another way." Lance awaited for Akira to do his next move. "(Wow, that was a close one. This kid might be Obelisk Blue material. This duel is only beginning and he had such an incredible hand already huh?)" Lance thought to himself.

[Guest Dementuo]

"Hm?" Zero thought. "Nrgh-agh!" Zero's Lunar Mark had started to glow brightly, like when it would come in contact with his brother's mark. "What in the hell?!" thought Zero. "That can't be right! No one else should have that power! I can't see a mark on him, but that's the same power..." Zero continued within his mind. "Now, I know this can't be just chance. Blue-Eyes is gone, there are half a dozen other Spirit Holders here, and that "Blackwing" kid seems familiar to me, but why...?" Thought Zero.

[Zextra]

"Wow! That was awesome! I'll place 2 cards face-down and end my turn." Akira knew this guy was no ordinary duelist - to be able to manipulate cards like that was an incredible feat. However, Akira was not nearly ready to give up. After just 1 move, Akira had realized that this just might be the place to raise his spirits*.

 

*Flashback: Akira was always very shy and contained. However, he was so shy that he was constantly being picked on by bullies. Even through all this, he never reacted, but to make matters worse, his parents have been missing since he was 7, leaving him with his jerk of a brother, who was the only person he knew who could make him angry.

"That was a good first move Akira. I'm looking forward to seeing your abilities in the future as well as every student attending the Academy. (A new generation of duelists are beginning to unlock their true potential. In a year or two, they'll probably all surpass the teachers at this academy. Heh, that's my pride and joy.)" Lance thought to himself as he drew a card. "Alright, I'll activate my Core Compression spell card. By revealing my Iron Core and discarding a Koa'ki Meiru monster in my hand, I can draw two new cards."

 

Lance discarded a monster and drew two cards from his deck. "Now I'll play Iron Core Immediate Disposal to send one Iron Core from my deck to my grave. Then I'll play Urgent Synthesis to return the Iron Core in my grave back into my deck to summon from my grave, Koa'ki Meiru Bergzak [ATK:2000]. Now I'll play Heavy Storm to destroy all of your face-downs. But I'm not done yet, I'm going to now summon my Koa'ki Meiru Rooklord [ATK:2800], and thanks to Rooklord's special effect, I just need to tribute one Koa'ki Meiru monster and I choose Bergzak."

 

Rooklord rose to the field, standing adamantly. "Rooklord and Sandman! Attack directly! [Combined ATK: 4700]."

[Zextra]

Nope...not yet! "My first facedown is Solemn Judgment, which negates your Heavy Storm (Akira's LP:2000)! Then, my Mirror Force destroys both your cards!" Akira sighed a sigh of relief. "Man, he just keeps getting tougher and tougher" Akira mumbled under his breath. "Anyways, now what are you going to do?"

"I was hoping you would use a card such as Mirror Force and that's why I didn't sacrafice my Sandman because now I'll activate its special effect. By tributing my Sandman I can negate your Mirror Force, and with nothing else to protect you and with only 2000 LP left, my Rooklord will end this now with his 2800 ATK strength. Finish things Rooklord!" Rooklord's eyes shined for a moment before slamming its giant fist towards Akira. "Game, set, match...." Lance stated as he watched Akira's LP go down to 0.
