"Not all of it. Just some. Like when you were thinking of your dad....Are you mad?..." Reina's smile faded. Did he now hate her? Was he upset at her for hearing his personal thoughts? Her ears flattened back. She should of kept her mouth shut. Reina was regretting even saying that. She wished she didn't have the power. If she didnt then people may like her better.

"No..its just unexpected of you being able to read peoples minds like that." Ven said with a smile. "I wouldnt be mad at you without a reason. And so far, you haven't done anything wrong to me. Ya just surprised me by reading my mind like that."

Reina felt a bit better. "Oh. Okay. I'm sorry. I will try to control it. I don't mean to do it. It just happens." Reina told him. She was hoping Jecht wasn't mad either. What if he was? What if he really wanted to get rid of her? Reina's mind started to fill with bad thoughts again. She knew she shouldn't think of negative things but she couldn't help it. She was taught to think that way. Reina lowered her head going quiet once more. She was worried that she had messed up just like all the times before.

Ven noticed Reina went quite again. Ok...she went quite again...not good. he thought to himself. He looked at Reina and noticed she looked sad and depressed again. Ok, shes sad and depressed..alright, I guess I gotta do something to make her happy. he thought. "Hey Jecht, can we stop for a few minutes?" he asked Jecht.

"Hm? Yeah, sure." Jecht said folding up the map and sticking it along with the compass into his pocket. He felt like he needed to wash his face offand get something to drink. Jecht crouched down to the ground. He put his palm on the ground and closed his eyes, he concentrated and tapped into his powers of the earth. He searched the ground and felt the gohper holes deeper underground. He limited his search to the top and did a widesearch. Jecht thought he felt a drop in the ground and the same drop went on for awhile northward. "I think I found a stream nearby. I'll go check it out."

Ven nodded and he put Reina gently on the ground. He sat down and said,"Alright, now we can sit and rest." He looked and saw a tree with fruit on it. He got back up and picked a few of them. He tossed one at Reina and said,"Here ya go, enjoy." He sat back down and ate one of the fruit that he picked.

Reina slowly ate the fruit in silence. She felt bad for hearing their thoughts before. She wished she could control her powers better. If she had time should would practice but she didn't want Ven or Jecht to know about it. She didn't want them to know she couldn't control her own powers. She just wanted to get to where they where going and get to Heartfall. Reina finished eating the fruit and stared at the ground. The fruit had tasted so good. It was just as good as the last time.

Ven looked at Reina and asked,"Are you still beating yourself up for reading mine and Jecht's mind?" He took another bite out of the fruit and said,"Seriously stop beating yourself up over something so trivial. I know you didnt mean to and I forgive you...you gotta stop beating yourself up for stuff like that."

Jecht walked through the trees trying to listen for the stream he found. The only thing was when he tried ot find things using his powers, he wasn't so sure about the depth or distance when he did. The stream could be miles away, he hoped not. He wanted something to drink. He knew the other two were probably thirsty too. Jecht heard something ruslting and ran towards the noise. It thankfully was a stream. The water was clear and he could see small pebbles at the bottom. The only issue was to drink it or not. You always boil water before drinking it so you don't get infected by any bacteria and get sick. Jecht would risk it. He cupped the water in his hand and drank thankfully. He dipped again and cleaned his face off. Jecht walked back to Reina and Ven to tell them of his discovery.

She knew he was right but it was hard not to. Reina nodded. She stayed quiet Her tail twitched normally. Reina sat there quietly thinking. What would happen when this was all over? Would she actually get home? Reina kept thinking. She was so used to being alone. So used to being in the dark. Reina kept forgetting to talk. She was always told to be quiet unless spoken to. So she kept going by what she was told before and not by what she thought was right. Reina was still trapped in the dark and may never be able to get out.

Jecht walked up to the other two feeling extremely proud of his find of a stream. "Hey guys, I found a stream not far from here, if anybody needs something to drink." He said pointing his thumb over his shoulder, in the direction of the stream.

Reina stood up and nodded. "Okay." She still felt bad about earlier but Ven was right. She shouldn't beat herself up over something like that. From now on she was going to try and not use her power. It was wrong and she should of just controled it in the first place. She slowly walked toward Jecht wanting to taste the water. At least a little. She was so thirsty. What did stream water taste like? Was it like what she had to drink all those years? Reina wanted to know. She had to know.

Ven took another bite out of the fruit he had and laid on the grass. He closed his eyes and let the sun slowly shine on him, through the trees. He did this many times when he was out by himself, but he hadn't done this since his father died. He opened his eyes and sighed as he thought about his father. "I promised you dad...I will find that assassin and make sure he wont kill anyone else." he said under his breath.

As Reina walked towards the stream in the cooling days air the sound of a trickeling stream grew closer and closer. The setting sun behind her she finally reached the rushing water, dipping her hands in to scoop out the brisk water and bring it to her lips. A sudden splash caught her attention, had it come from the left? Possibly some fish jumping out of the stream; fish meant some food for the night.

OOC- I have said this once to someone else. Please don't control my charaters. I was going to have her got to the stream and do that. Just please don't do that again.

 

Reina looked around. Her heart was racing. What was it? She scooted back some. She didn't see anything but she was frightened. What if it was that man again? Reina was about to call out to Jecht or Ven. She kept backing up looking around. What was there? Her ears kept twitching as she listened. Her tail curled around her leg as she kept backing up. She wanted to get out of there without making a sound. Reina kept slowly scooting back.

Ven got up and went over to the lake. He saw Reina and said,"Hey Princess." He noticed her looking a little uneasy and she looked scared. He sat down next to Reina and said,"Reina, whats wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost, either that or something else happened. Tell me whats wrong, Reina."

The sounds seemed to grow closer as Reina backed away. Whatever thoughts were running through her head one thing was apparant, she was very afraid of whomever it might have been. Creeping away silently the sounds stopped and then, a few seconds later, she could see something drifting down the stream towards her.

Reina got behind Ven and kept her eyes on the stream. She was frightened. Reina shook and stayed behind Ven hoping that she was doing the right thing. She lowered head head. "Someone is here..." She quietly said. Her heart kept speeding up. Her ears were flattened all the way back. Reina kept backing up. She didn't know who it was but she could tell they were dangerous.

Ven looked at Reina and nodded. He grabbed the hilt of Fenrir and pulled it off his back. He stood up and held his blade at the stream. "Who is there? If you are here to take Reina back, then you'll have to get to me, Ven Hawk! And I'll tell you, I'm no pushover..I'm great swordsman, so I wont go easy!" he said to whoever was in the stream.

The object which had been heading down the stream caught on a branch and, only then, did Ven and Reina notice that it was clothing. As they looked at it's milky grey color flowing in the rushing water the sound of splashing returned, heading towarsd them, and Ven gave his little 'speech'. Coming around the bend both could see a young woman, possibly a teenager, covered in nothing more than "undercloths" and a sword wrapped around her hip. Hardly paying attention to them she moved towards the snagged clothing and then pulled it over her body; afterwards finally noting the others, "Put that d*mn thing away boy. I have no buisness with you."

Reina didn't like the girl already. She seemed so mean and didn't seem to care about what others feel or think. Reina stayed back watching her. Her tail was still curled around her leg and her ears still flattened back. She stayed quiet watching to see what would happen. She was still shaking some. Reina wanted to know what she was doing here and why she replied like she did. Did Reina do something wrong? She didn't know what she did wrong to get her upset.

Ven held Fenrir and looked at the girl that was walking towards them. "Stay back!" Ven demanded. He didnt know who this girl was or where she came from, but Ven knew one thing. He was going to find out right here and now. "Now I want you to tell me who you are..and where the hell you came from." Ven said in gripping Fenrir's hilt tighter.

The girl gave a sly smirk, ammused that the little cat-like girl couldn't stop shaking and her guard, as she assumed he was, barked orders at her to reply to his questioning. He was holding his weapon up towards her as she walked towards the end of the bank, heading in their general direction, and never lowered whatever guard he had up. Wringing out her long bluish grey hair as she stepped out of the stream and stood a couple feet away from the tip of the man's sword, "Why should I explain myself to someone like you?"

Ven glared at the girl and said,"Because, I want to know who the hell you are! Now if you wont tell me your name..." He sighed and then continued by saying,"Then tell me...are you friend or foe?" She has to at least say something about herself.....I just need to ask the right questions and find out who the hell she is and if she is friend or foe.... he thought to himself.

Reina watched. She didn't like what was going on. She didn't like it one bit. Reina stayed quiet. What was the girl doing? And why was she talking like that to Ven? She kept watching both to see what they would do. Her tail still curled around her tail tightly. Reina was ready to step in at any moment. She didn't want to fight but she would if she needed to. Reina stayed quiet. Her tail started to slightly uncurl.
