"You had a bad dream, Reina." Ven said looking at her. It must have been a really really bad dream...she seems she actually felt everything that happened in that little dream. It must be from all the stress she has on her. he thought to himself. He smiled and said,"Well the dream is over now, you dont have to worry about anything."

"I see..."Reina got her heart and breathing to slow down. She looked at him "I'm sorry...." She felt bad. Reina thought she scared him. She was scared herself. He said it was over so she should relax. Reina sighed and lowered her head.

Ven smiled and said,"I think the only reason you're having those kinds of nightmares...is probably because your stressed out. Your also thinking too much about your master trying to take you back." He looked at Reina and said,"I said it before and I'll say it again, dont worry. Me and Jecht have things under control. We'll protect you...I promise you that."

Reina nodded. They will protect her. She just didn't want them getting hurt now. A small smile appeared on her face. Reina liked having company. She liked having someong there to talk to.

Ven looked at Reina again and saw the small smile on her face. Ya did good Ven. You finally got a girl to smile at ya. I'm guessing this girl will be different from everyone else I've seen. he thought to himself. As he thought this, a smile appeared on his face as they continued to walk with Jecht.

Reina relaxed some. Her tail twitched happily. She wanted to try that fruit again but had a feeling there was none. She decided to stay quiet and not ask. Reina held onto Ven as he kept walking. She looked at Jecht. She noticed that he was quiet alot. Was he mad cause she helped him? She started to think she should only help those that want her to help him so she would advoid getting people upset at her.

Jecht kept to himself. He stayed quiet as they talked. He'd glance down at the map every so often. Jecht didn't talk a lot, he was used to being alone. He'd talk to things around him sometimes, animals, things like that. He thought about how long it'd take them to get to Jecht's village. He knew they'd have to get to make a camp sometime. He'd been on the hunt, checking out different places a couple of days. Jecht made sure they were going the right way by checking the compass a lot.

"Jecht....are you mad?..."Reina finally got the guts to ask. Her ears were back as she watched him. She hoped he didn't hate her. Reina felt bad. What if he did? What if he wanted to get rid of her as fast as he could or turned her in to her master? The more she thought of it the more she wanted to cry. She had tears in her eyes trying to stay calm.

"Hm?" Jecht said, Reina's voice breaking his concentration of checking infront of him, so he didn't trip, and the compass, so they didn't get lost. "No." He said a little confused. "Why would I be mad?" He asked turning back to look at Reina. Her eyes were sparkling like she was about to cry. Did I do something wrong? He asked himself as he waited for her reply.

"Hey, Reina..dont cry." Ven said trying to calm her down. "No one is upset at you, so there isnt any reason to cry. So please calm down and dont cry." Great..I havent had a girl cry like this since I broke up with that one girl who just used me to buy her stuff. he thought to himself.

"D..Do you hate me?..."She asked. She was trying so hard not to cry but it was so hard not to. The thought of being hated made her sad. She lowered her head trying to hide her face. She didn't want anyone to see her tears. She didn't want anyone see her cry. She couldn't believe she was even hated.

"No, no, no. I don't hate you. Reina." Jecht said and again the tears came. He couldn't stand it when someone cried. "Don't cry. Please. Reina." He pleaded with her. "C'mon. Please." jecht moved the hair from her eyes and lifted her head. "Don't cry." He repeated wiping away her tears with his thumb, which was considerable dirty after living in the forest for a few days. "Did I do something wrong?" HE asked a little confused.

"You didn't do anything wrong..."Reina told him. She was relieved that he didn't hate her. Her tears started to stop falling and a crooked smiled appeared on her face. "Thank you...." Reina felt bad for crying. She couldn't believe she had started to cry. She felt ashamed that she did it. Reina couldn't look at Jecht now. She felt bad. Her tail lowered and her ears were flattened. I upset him....I messed up....I kept messing up....

Ven looked at Reina and said,"Hey are you gonna be alright, princess?" He looked at the night sky and said,"You need to stop beating yourself up because you didnt do anything wrong. You gotta lose this negative attitude and you gotta be a little bit more positive. Cause I cant handle a girl looking sad and being depressed all the time."

Reina looked at Ven. "Okay.." She quietly said. She continued to hold onto Ven so she wouldn't fall off. Reina felt bad that he was carrying her. He must of been extremely tired. Reina's neck still hurt from the collar but she was glad it wasn't hurting her anymore like before. She could still feel the shocking pain it was giving her. She wanted to forget. She didn't want to remember the pain. She didn't want it to happen again. Reina just wanted the pain to stop and for her to be happy and free.

Ven continued to walk with Reina on his back. He decided to clip Fenrir to his side, he could carry Reina without any problem. Add a clip to the blade to clip to the belt loops on your pants...best idea you had in a while Ven. he thought to himself. He looked back at Reina and smiled. "Hey, could you at least smile? I like it when girls smile. It brings out the cuteness in most girls, thats what I've been told."

Reina blushed when he said that. She couldn't believe he had said that. A small smile appeared on her face. She felt a bit better. Reina thought she should try smiling more. If she did maybe then things could get better. But would they start saying things about her? Like she didn't understand the dangers of the world? Reina couldn't think straight. She kept getting so many thoughts and questions in her mind. Reina wanted it to stop. She wanted it to be like it was before. Safe with her brother.

Ven smiled. "Now there is a sight I like to see." he said as he saw Reina's smiling face. He had to admit this to himself, but Reina was pretty cute. He wanted to say something like that to her out loud, but he thought she would pretty much just slap him or something on the lines of that. I think I'll keep that to myself for now. he thought to himself.

Reina smiled more. She liked how it felt when she smiled. She had a good feeling inside when she did. Reina kept the smile on her face and just layed her head back on his shoulder. Ven was warm. Reina was cold. She was usually always cold but said nothing about it. She didn't think it mattered. Reina stayed quiet as her ears twitched listening for anything around them. She kept smelling the air and knowing nothing was there but an animal.

Ven smiled and continued to walk with Reina on his back. He looked back at her and said,"So, are you feeling better now that your smiling?" Of course she is...why the heck would you just ask her that question? he thought to himself. Nevermind...its alright...its cool. At least your not tell her some weird off the wall stories, like you usually do.

"Yeah. I am feeling better." Reina told him. She didn't tell him that she could hear his thoughts though. She didn't want him to get upset or mad at her for it. Reina kept smiling. She was remembering what her life was like before she was sold. Was she this happy then? Reina could remember that she was alone alot then. She was trying to figure out why people didn't seem to like her. Reina didn't understand. She looked like them. She may of been the princess but why did that matter? Did she do something before that upset them?

Ven smiled and said,"Good to hear your in a much better mood now." He looked up at the sky and sighed. Dad...I wish you were here to see me now. I'm a great swordsman...I've grown into a nice young man; though thats what everyone tells me..and I'm helping the Princess of Heartfall...I know you would be proud of me. he thought to himself.

"Your dad is proud of you" Reina said. She was hoping that he wouldn't have a big reaction when she said that. She was wondering if her family was proud of her. Reina had a feeling her mom wasn't. She always liked her older twin sister better than her. Reina didn't know why. Was it cause she was a better fighter than her? Or was it some other reason? She sighed as she stayed quiet. She waiting for Ven's response.

"H-How do you know that I thinking about my da-" Ven started to say. He then facepalmed and said,"Dont tell me...you read minds dont ya?" He looked and saw Reina nod her head. Dang it! That means she heard every word I said...including about her being....oh boy.. he thought to himself. "So you heard every word I thought?" he asked.

Jecht listened asa they talked, he didn't have anything to say but he thought to himself. Well, that's how she knew I was hungry before. I guess even my thoughts aren't private. He thought and regretted it when he reminded himself that she heard that. Well, let's hope she doesn't overreact over that. He thought as he walked. The sun was setting now and the forest was getting much darker because of the trees blocking most of the sunlight. "Whenever you guys want to stop just say so, 'Kay?"
