"Okay then." Jecht said pulling out a compass that he kept with him at all times and a map he had in his other pocket. Jecht had marked several improtant landmarks on the map. Jecht turned around so the was point north according to his compass. Okay, that's North. He said mentally to himself and pointed the way that he was facing and did the same thing with all the other directions. I was going that way. The village is that way . . . I think. He thought but he knew he was lost. He was determined to figure it out. He was tracing his finger along the map, to where he thought he went on his journey. He pointed in the direction he was talking about mentally. I did go eastwards part of the way. Then North again. So I want to go, "That way." He said pointing a direction that was realitivly southward, still not entirely sure.

"Do you know the way?..." Reina asked him. She watched him and noticed he was studying the map for a long time. Reina looked at him worried. She was counting on him to help. To help stop the pain. She wanted it to stop but she never got what she wanted before. So she knew she was getting her hopes up. She lowered her head going quiet once again.

"Huh?" Jecht said, Reina's voice breaking him out of his thoughts about which way to go. "Yeah, yeah. Of course." He said being absorbed by the map for another minute. What if I get us even more lost? He thought for a moment but tried not to think about it. I've done this a million times, there's no way I can get lost. He thougt trying to encourage himself. Reina went to tug at it and ended up jerking her hand away after feeling a slight shock go in her hand. Her tail twitched nervously. Reina kept her eyes on all of them. She didn't want anyone to attack her. There was three of them and one of her. So she would be taken out easily.

Ven stood up and said,"Well I'm coming with you. I wanna help you, Reina, as much as I can." He grabbed Fenrir and put it on his back. "And while I help you...I might find something about that assassin that murdered my father..and who his next target might be." He looked at Reina and smiled. "And dont worry, if anything bad happens I'll protect ya." he said.

Reina looks at Ven. He said he would protect her. These people barely knew he but why were they helping her? What was their reason? Reina couldn't understand. Why? Why are they doing this? Reina was so lost in thought. All these questions she didn't understand kept floating around in her head. Was this just a trap? She stood there almost looking dazed. The burning in her neck brought her back.

"You alright, Reina?" Ven asked looking at her. "You looked like you were in deep thought. Whats on your mind?" He then thought and said,"Oh I get it...you're afraid that this is some trap. If you are then dont worry, I dont hurt girls at all. Thats how my father raised me to be. Respect a girl like I want to be respected."

"!?" Reina couldn't believe her ears. Could he read minds to? She blushed a little and turned away. How did he know that?! Can I really trust these people? I can't believe they have heard of Heartfall and the heir. Why is all this happening? Why am I thinking so much? Reina had started walking off on her own. Her mind was so full that she wasn't paying much attention to anything else around her.

Ven watched at Reina and said,"R-Reina..where are you going?" He shook his head and sighed. Why is it when I'm talking to a girl or even next to a girl...they just walk off and leave me hanging. He put the hood back on his head and said,"Reina...please wait up. I wanna talk, please dont just walk off."

She heard her name and snapped out of it. But it wasn't in time. She tripped over the rock again falling back onto the ground. "This isn't my day..." She sat up and sighed. Reina lowered her head. "I'm sorry sir...." She said like before. "I mean master! " she put her arms over her head again as if he were going to hit her. She was doing the same thing she had done with Jecht.

Ven kneeled down to Reina and said,"Are you alright, Reina?" He took her hand helped her up. He looked at Reina and said,"Why are you saying master and look like you are trying to protect yourself from being hit. Reina what happened to you? Tell me what happened, please."

Reina lowered her head. She knew she had to tell. Reina wanted to say it wasn't important but the look he had made her know that he wasn't going to accept that. "When mother sold me.....She sold me to a guy.....as his slave...." She told him. "He did so much that I won't ever forget....I ran away not to long ago and now he's sent his men after me.....That's why I have a hard time trusting all of you....You could be working for him and end up taking me back...."

"Reina..I cant just let someone just go back to being some dude's slave." Ven said with a smile. "And I'll give you my word, if that guy sends his men after you again..then I'll protect you myself." he said pointing to Fenrir on his back. "Besides, I dont work with people that enslave beautiful girls, like yourself." he said with a smile. "And no, I'm not just saying any of this just to make you feel better, I mean every word."

Reina blushed brightly. Her ears flattened back a bit. "Thank you.." She didn't know what to do now. "We should get going now...." She said nervously. Her tail twitched to show she was nervous. She knew he could trust Ven now. Now she had to see if she could trust the other two. Reina slowly lifted her head to look at him.

Ven smiled and saw that she finally trusted him. Hmm, maybe this girl isnt like the other ones I've met before. She is different... he thought to himself. "So should we go back to see how that guy Jecht and the other dude is doing? Cause I'll do whatever..cause I really dont have anywhere else to be at the moment." he asked Reina.

Reina smiled and nodded. "Come on." She took his hand and lead him back to the others. Her tail was up to show she was happy and her ears were no longer flattened. SHe didn't know why she was happy but she didn't care. She had a good feeling inside and she loved it. What is was she thought she knew. Her future was going to be changed. Reina knew it was going to her better

As Reina lead Ven back to the others, he tried to hide the fact that his face turned really REALLY red. He never knew a girl that took his hand like that. He smiled a bit and tried to make sure that no one saw his face all red. As long as no one notices my face...I'll be fine. He thought to himself. Then he shook his head and said under his breath,"Why did I think that?"

She stopped when they got back to the others. Reina forgot to let go of his hand. "Okay eveyone...are we ready to go?" she asked. Reina wanted to get going. She wanted the collar off. It was still burning. Reina let go of Ven's hand and rubbed her neck. It stung so she stopped. Reina lowered her head.

Ven nodded and said,"I'm ready whenever you guys are. Cause I've been just living on my own for a while now." He looked at Reina and saw her rub her neck. "Reina...isnt there some charm like thing that could stop the pain...until we find out how to get your collar off?" he asked Renia as he looked at the collar.

"I could try to heal it. Or at least numb the pain for now. " She looked at him. Reina tried to heal it but ended up gettng shocked from the collar. So she just numbed it for now. Her mind filled with thoughts once again. She was so used to be alone and not talking. She was trying to keep talking in english but it was hard. She usually talked in Heartfallian. Reina stared at the ground staying quiet.

Ven looked at Reina and saw being lost in thought again. Man, she is outta it again. She really needs to lighten up. he thought to himself. "Reina...is everything alright?? Cause its not really looking like your doing alright." he said to Reina. "I just wish I was able to help stop the pain coming from your collar."
