A few miles away from the village where the epic brawl had occured layed Maverick under a tree unconcious he woke up and put his hand on his head saying,"Ow my head!" he then stood up looking around but something was different with him he had a normal emotional face and then after looking back in forth for awhile he spoke again,"Where am I and Who am I?"

 

-Meanwhile-

Up above Maverick was the his demonic counterpart Judas starring at the clueless fool,"Well it looks like the aftermath of our battle has left our friend with Amnesia! He he he he!" giggled Judas sinisterly.

 

"Well I guess it wouldn't be much fun if my opponent was a total snore now would it!" said Judas as he looked back at the half destroyed village and then thought to himself,"If I want to be the one to kill him I need to get his memory back but I can't go right up to him he'll just run away maybe someone in that village can do help me! Wait I can't go back they've seen me they know I'm evil I'll just have to lure them out!" at that moment he made a blue ball of fire in his hands and clapped his hands to make a large explosion of blue fire hoping someone would see and head to that location.

Ketodama quickly noticed as Reina appeared seemingly out of nowhere in front of the mansion he had been trying to infiltrate. Recognizing her as the girl that he had seen being carried off by a dragon and as such he quickly rushed out of his cover to her. He moved quickly and silently as he wrapped his right arm around her waist and placed his left hand over her mouth to muffle any cry of surprise. He quickly brought her down into a nearby piece of brush, poking his head up from within the plant life to search for anyone who could have been watching them. After a few moments, he ducked back down into the brush and removed his hand from her mouth, placing a finger to his lips to signal for silence before whispering to her.

 

"I'm assuming you're the girl who was captured and brought here. I am here to get you safely away from this place and to help you on your travel to wherever you are going. I can't help you if I don't know who you are and where you're trying to go. Mind explaining?"

Rai and the others had trekked many miles away when they decided to stop for the night. Leaning against a tree, Rai started a fire by sending a flame at the pile of timber that he had collected. "Well, this has been an exciting day, I guess, although I would have rather not have had to fight at the diner, I didn't get to eat....." His stomach growled at the thought of food. Walking away from camp, he said, "I'll be back, I'm going to go find something around here thats edible..." And with that, he disappeared behind a clump of trees.

Noelle hadn't said a single word all the time they'd been walking. She had no thoughts about going back and rescuing the villagers nor did she think about fighting the demon who'd suddenly appeared. As far as she was concerned they were all problems for the kingdom to deal with, her only mission was to find Reina and bring her home. Sighing she glanced over to Ven, sound asleep by the fire, and stood up, "I am going . . . to help . . . Rai . . ."

 

With that she attatched her sword to her waist and set out. It didn't take her a long time to find Rai, he was very easy to track than an elk or the like, but instead of walking right out she stopped. He was in a river trying to catch fish with his bare hands . . . and failing pretty miserably. Getting a small smile on her face Noelle shook her head, leaned back, and continued to walk; not even realizing her ice-cold expressions had changed.

Rai kept on trying to catch the fish, and began to get frustrated. Jumping out of the water and onto a rock he shouted "Franza!" in pure frustration. Without realizing, He had shot a jet of white flame into the water, superheating it and killing the fish in the small section of the river around where it had impacted yhe water. After he realized what he he had done and the fish had started to rise to the surface, he grabbed one of his swords and started to spear them, until he had a total of 5 fish on his sword. "Well, I really didn't give the fish a chance to react, but oh well, it was going to die one way or another." He stood up and began to walk back towards camp.

Ven yawned a little and then slowly woke up. He stretched out and looked around. "Heh, must've dosed off..." Ven yawned. He stood up and said,"Wonder where Noelle and Rai are? They're usually here when we rest..they must be out gathering supplies." He picked up Fenrir and sighed. Reina...I'm sorry its taking so long for me to get to you. But I promise, I will get you back to Heartfall. But first I'm going to kill that man for taking you hostage like that. he thought as he gripped Fenrir's hilt tighter. "Just wait for me.." he said with a sigh.

Noelle smiled, seeing Rai get the fish finally, and watched him head back to the camp. She might have got some fish for herself if she wanted to, though she wasn't exactly hungry, and instead opted out to take a bath. The cold water sent shivers down her spine, though not for the obvious coldness as she was accustomed to it, but instead out of delight and relaxation. Sighing she leaned her head back to let her long flowing hair to get wet while listening to the sounds of the wildlife. "It is strange," she thought to herself stretching, [/i]"Before meating them I could never be this relaxed."[/i] Closing her eyes Noelle let her mind drift for once and soon began to remember more of her past. Duriung her time running away she wouldn't have the luxury of taking baths, seeing them as the easiest opertunity for enemies to strike, and even went an entire month without bathing; though she wasn't proud of it at all. She hadn't realized how much not bathing meant until she had wandered into a village and saw the reactions of the people, some even holding theirnose as she passed, though she couldn't blame them. Smiling with the funny idea of how badly she must have smelty Noelle opened her eyes again.

Rai kept walking through the woods back to camp, stopping every so often to pick and plant that he would use for seasoning that caught his eye, often meandering way off the path. When he was satisfied with the amount he had, he began to walk back in the direction of camp. Walking back into the clearing with the fish on his sword, he looked around, and then at Ven. "Where's Noelle? She was here when I left." Sighing he sat down in front of the fire and after tossing a small, round, flat stone on it and then began to cook th fish with utmost care.

Meanwhile Maverick noticed Judas' explosion and freaked out and ran away. Judas looked around noticing that no one even acknowledged his explosion so he did the next best thing he followed the fleeing Maverick. Judas changed himself into a shadow to catch up with Maverick, but when Maverick turned he saw the shadow and ran into a tree making him unconscious again. When he woke he noticed a small fat man who dressed all nice and neat and wore a top hat and he finally spoke,"Boy are okay?" said the man. Maverick starred at him and wondered,"Who is he I wonder if he knows my name?". "Do you know who I am?" asked Maverick the man spoke again,"Hmmm....Let me see its on the tip of my tongue, Maverick!" he said with a smile on his face. Maverick starred and smiled,"Yes! I know who I am now!" Maverick stood up and grabbed the mans hands and started to dance and accidentally threw him into a tree. "Oops! Sorry!" replied Maverick. "It's no deal, I haven't introduced myself I am Wilson! Mayor of that little town over there!" he pointed at the destroyed town, Maverick looked where he pointed and said,"That town?" "Yes and I'm sad to say if you head back there people will try to kill you!" replied Wilson.

Maverick started to have a scared expression on his face, "wha...wha..what did I do?" he said nervous, "unexplainable things!" replied Wilson as he put a hand on Maverick's shoulder. "But don't worry boy I'll help you on your little journey to find your memory!" said Wilson, Maverick jumped with joy and replied,"Well in that case we should probably find somewhere to camp out!" Maverick stood up and started walking and Wilson followed. Wilson thought to himself,"That fool he's forgotten everything including my ability to shape-shift! Beware Maverick for when you gain your memory back you shall feel the wrath of Judas!"

Rai continued to cook the fish and came to the conclusion that Ven didn't know where Noelle went, either, since he didn't answer. Finally satisfied minutes later with the fish he had cooked, he moved the stone off the coals and onto the fire beside him. He let the fish cool off a little, due to the fact that they would burn the roof of his mouth if he tried to eat them at the moment. Looking over at Ven he asked, "You want one? They're's plenty here...."

Ven saw Rai with the fish and said,"Sure..I am pretty hungry right now." As he said that, his stomach began to growl. "Yeah...it spoke for itself right now." He sat down and grabbed a fish and began to eat it slowly. He looked in the fire and saw Reina's face looking back at him. He sighed and wished he was a lot stronger than he was, that way he would be able to protect and save her without any problems. But seeing the fact that it wasn't the case, he needed all the help he could get at this point.

A few minutes had passed since Noelle stopped dreaming about her past. Getting out of the water she swirled her hands around a bit to create a small area of cold around her entire body, making the water freeze and fall off her as snow. Once completely dry she clothed herself before attatching the sword once more to her hip before heading off towards camp. The leaves crunching echoed in the empty woods with each step and made walking very creepy; at least if she wasn't accustomed to it. Seeing the red flicker of the campfire a few feet away Noelle placed a hand on her sword before walking back into view, nodding her head to Ven and to Rai as she did, and then sat down, "Is there any . . . more?"

Reina sat down to rest after a few hours. She was exuasted from running and hungry. She transformed into a full cat and curled up under a tree trying to stay warm. Her eyes closed and she fell asleep. Reina layed there dreaming about her brother Rein.

 

Meanwhile in Heartfall

 

"Heartfall is dying! And it's because the heart is no longer here!" Rein yelled. Everyone in the council stared in silence.

[Žäīἢ]

Rai looked up at Noelle when she walked into the clearing. "Yeah there's some left, they just came off the fire a minute ago." He picked up the rock that had the fish on it, even though it was hot enough to burn a normal person's skin (it didn't bun Rai due to his ability to control fire), and held it out to Noelle. "Here, take whichever fillet you want, just make sure you don't burn yourself on the rock when you do." Glancing over at Ven when Noelle took one, he said, "How is it? I hope it's fine, I really didn't have all the things I'd like to season them..."

Ven ate the fish and said,"Its alright Rai. Could use a few herbs here and there, but other than that..its pretty good." He finished the fish off and then tossed the fish bone behind him and looked at the fire again. He sighed again and ran his fingers through his spiky brown hair. "This would be so much easier if I had more training as a swordsman....mainly if my dad was still alive. Then he would have taught me everything he knew about swordsmanship." he said thinking about his dad again. He recalled most of the things his dad said and did to teach him about basic swordsmanship.

Rai's ears perked up when he heard that Ven only had a basic swordsmanship training. I could offer to train him, but he might not accept it.... "Ven, I could train you in swordsmanship during the evenings when we stop to rest. I might not be as good as your father was, but I am one of the best around. But, I can understand if you don't want too..." As he waited for a response, he began to eat one of the fish, surprised by how good they turned out even though he didn't have all the herbs he would have wished to use.

Ven looked at Rai and heard his offer. He thought for a moment, thinking, OK he wants to train me in learning how to fight. Well, I did say I'd have to accept any help I'd get so... He turned back to Rai and said,"Rai, I'd be happy to take you up on your offer to teach in ways to learn how to wield a sword better. I'll take whatever I can get to help Reina and bring her back to Heartfall." He grabbed Fenrir and stood up with a smile. Right now he was a little happy that Rai was going to help him with his swordsmanship, since he was only winging most of the battles he won. "So, when do we start?" he asked.

During all this time Noelle had silently munched on her fish, not even caring that it was too hot to eat, while she listened to them talk. When the topic of sword fighitng reached her ears she actually began to pay attention, where as before she simply drifted in and out of the conversation, but still didn't say anything. Then it happened, Rai offered to teach Ven sword training though he wasn't sure if he'd be the best teacher. This . . . out of all things . . . managed to get Noelle to literally laugh out loud. Now Noelle had given a scoff here and there, but never before in front of anyone did she ever physically laugh out loud. Well one thing can be said for Ven and Rai as the woman who had been so emotionless all this time began laughing hysterically, they were probably creeped out a lot by it. Holding her hand over her face, the laughter subsiding, Noelle stood up and clenched the blade on her waist, "Rai you . . . cannot teach . . . swordsmanship . . . don't try to kid . . . yourself . . . fool!"

 

Removing her hand Noelle's expression changed to incredibly sinister as she froze the fire, though not the flame, and unseathed her sword at lightning speed. Holding it out beside her it didn't appear as if anyhting had happened, but all of a sudden a mild explosion erupted behind them. Now laughing aghain, though more evil, Noelle's energy seeped and flowed around her, "Come if . . . you want to . . . really . . . learn . . ."

Damn...I'm not even that fast....I guess my assumption was correct, she is better than me.... He stared at Noelle. "Noelle, let me get a few things straight. I am not kidding myself. You know nothing of my abilities, you are only basing my abilities off the little quarry I had at the restaurant, which, I will agree was pathetic. I had taken into account that you were probably better than me, due to the fact that you have had more proper training. But do not kid yourself. I know that if we were to have a bout that you would win, but not without escaping injury."

Reina woke smelling fish. Her stomach growled louder. She got up on all fours too tired to transform into her normal form. She slowly walked to the group of familiar figures and stopped. Reina meowed. She couldn't get anything else out. She layed down meowing at them.

Ven looked at Noelle and Rai and sighed. He ran his hand through his spiky brown hair and said,"OK, hows this sound....that way there's no arguments. I'll train with both of you...does that sound OK with the both of you??" He knew Noelle was a great fighter and showed that every time they we're traveling, but he needed to see what Rai knew as well, that way he'd be a swordsman with many options on what fighting styles to use in which battle. "Cause if that is alright, then we'll do that instead of trying to learn from you both individually." he said with a smile.

[Žäīἢ]

Rai sighed. "That's fine with me..."He knew that it would be best that he learned from Noelle, but he knew that he could teach him many other fighting styles. Sighing again he picked up another fish and was about to take a bite when he heard meowing behind him. Glancing over his shoulder he saw a cat looking back at him. "Hey," he saiD softly to it, "would you like some fish?" He held out the fish he was holding towards it, showing that he posed no threat. "Don't worry, I won't bite..."

Noelle turned around and nodded her head, hidding her emotions from everyone, and agreed that Ven learning from both of them would be the best. Seathing her sword the young woman let out a sigh to calm herself before sitting back down; by this time Rai had spotted a cat and was attempting to coo it into his lap or something along those lines. Snatching another fish from the fire she bit into it and began munching on it all the while thinking, "What possessed me to act that way? I've never laughed like that before so why now?" Looking over her shoulders Noelle squinted her eyes at Ven and Rai, noting how dumblooking they were acting, and then an idea came to mind, "Maybe it's them? I could be acting differently because of them . . ."

[TatteredSleeves]

Myu-a materialized. He had sensed a drifting soul and had hoped it was Reina. And so she was. Myu-a followed silently behind her. His ethereal form leaving a trail of black flame that burned nothing and gave no light. He hovered a few inches from the ground and he sensed hunger and the thought of food about her. He put his burning appendage before him and materialized a fish, two fish and then three, He held them in his would-be hand and then approached Reina. "Ah...ah...ah..." He said unable to quite form words. But he offered his gift to Reina eagerly wanting her to take of it.

Rai saw the shadowy hovering behind the cat. Assumming that it had evil intentions, even though it was holding out fish, he quicky dropped the fish he was holding and swiftly but gently picked up the cat, set her down behind him by the fish he dropped, and turned back towards the spirit with his hand on the hilt of one of his blades. He never let his gaze off of it as slowly moved his other hand to the hilt off his second sword. "What are you? And why are you here?" He asked the mysterious figure.
