Ven looked around the town and sighed. He kept remembering the fun times he had around here and the things he used to do here. He sighed again and said,"Y-You're right...they do belong in the past." Ven shook his head and then saw the small diner that Noelle pointed at. He nodded and said,"That is a good place to eat. I'm all good with eating there, so it doesn't really matter to me." He walked over towards the diner and said,"You two coming??"

Maverick looked at Reina for awhile and then finally spoke again, "If you have nowhere to go for awhile I guess you can stay here it's actually safer then it looks as long as you don't agtaginize any of the souls." That's when he changed his arm into a hornet stinger again and slashed the air cutting open a portal. "I'll be back later!" he said as he walked in and left Reina behind. When Maverick finally came out of the other end he found himself in middle of the forest. "Well this isn't what I expected." He said that's when he he shot out two large demon wings from his body and jumped up and started flying. That's when he thought to himself, "I don't believe what she's saying that she has no friends."

Rai was lost in thought, and was subconsciously following Ven and Noelle throughout the town when Ven asked if they were coming. He looked at him not knowing where the were, his mind was still wandering. He shook his head as if to dispel the thoughts and then realized that they were in front of a diner. The smells of hot food made his stomach growl, and he remembered that he hadn't had a proper meal in a week. "Y-yeah, I'm coming..."

Meanwile Maveerick continued to fly but then he noticed something, His skin was starting to smoke a little. He went down into the shade of a tree hoping it would stop but it wouldn't. "Damn! The sun burns my skin." he said as he looked into his pocket and pulled out a dark purple bracelet and put it on. "I thought I would never need to use this." When he finally had it secured to his wrist a dark aura went around and then into his body, that's when he heard a sound. "Hmm?" he said. Finally he heard it again and then a large Reptilian Serpent came raging at him but luckily he dodged it. That's when Maverick turned to look at the creature and saw the Green Snake-like giant with two bladed arms and had a stinger at the end of this tail. "Who are and what are you?" asked Maverick with his normal expressionless face. "I'm Raggar! King of the Reptiles!" said the creature with a scary hiss in his voice. Maverick just starred at Raggar, "He doesn't look like a king." He thought to himself, "You are a trespasser to my kingdom and shall be punished for for it!" He shouted as he pounced at him and was getting ready to stab Maverick except he used one of his hornet stingers and blocked the attack but it still lew him back a bit. "I might not want to underestimate him!" said Maverick thinking to himself.

Noelle nodded her head and simply began to head inside without another word. Once all three of them were inside they found their seats and took them while noticing how many people were actually there; not to mention what they were, soldiers. Not acting as if she had a care in the world Noelle merely snapped her fingers a couple times to get the waitress' attention. The meek girl pardoned herself from the roudy soldiers, sauced up on cheap booze, and walked over towards them, "Y-Yes what can I ge-"

 

"A bottle of bourbon," Noelle interrupted opening a single eye to look at the girl. Ven and Rai must think she had no people skills what so ever- and this would be true. After all Noelle had been in a forest by herself with no one to actually hold a conversation with, so she naturally came off as rude and insensitive.

With Mavrick having dodged the first of Raggar's attacks he prepared himself for another volley, but was suprised when a sudden explosion in the distance rang out. It was like nothing he had ever heard before, but would learn soon to distrust as he saw what it could do. Raggar had been pouncing at him when the bang erupted and within a second of it reaching them he fell to Mavrick's feet, dead, and blood began to seep out of the wound inflicted to his head.

 

"You okay boy?" someone asked in the distance and when he turned to look the mass of soldiers surrounding him became apparent. Each one was dawned in armor and brandishing their weapons; though some weilded what appeared to be a short staff with metal attatched to its top. Raising the odd weapons the, if you had to guess, leader called back out to Mavrick, "Good because we wouldn't want you getting hurt by someone else. Now on your knees!"

"Put down the weapon and I won't harm you!" said Maverick as he approached the Captain but then they all raised there weapons at him. "I warned you!" said Maverick as he suddenly created are large blue fireball with his hands. "Supernova." he said as he squeezed his hands together and then a large explosion was created and then it burned all of the men and killed them. Maverick was the only standing uninjured then he noticed a piece of armor and noticed something was in it. It was a picture even though it was scorched he could tell who was in it. "Reina. Seems like your master is going over the edge!" said Maverick as he spreaded his demon wings and then flew off once again.

At least shes on our side and helping me get Reina back to Heartfall. He looked at the waitress and said,"Some water would be nice, if you please." Ven smiled and noted at that the waitress blushed a little when he looked at her, and he smirked. Looks like I still got it! he thought to himself. He looked at Rai and Noelle and asked,"Is there anything else you two want?"

Maverick flew and as he was flying something fired at him from the bushes beneath him. "Was that an arrow?" asked Maverick as dodged it then he looked down at where it came from and then 5 arrows shot at him, he successfully dodged and this time he prepared a blue fireball in one of his hands. This time hundreds of arrows fired at him and instead of attacking he blocked the arrows with his fire burning them to a crisp. When he finally pasted a place where there were no tree's to hide in he saw warriors that looked like the one's from before. "Men! Fire!" said one of them and then they fired more arrows and missed again. So he swooped down with one hornet stinger and slash cut a few of the men in half and then a few more and then a few more eventually there was only 5 of them. "You shouldn't agtaginize me." said Maverick as he charged for them but then was cut off by a man who wore mammoth fur for clothing, bulky and carried a large sword, there was also a chain around his torso. He threw Maverick back a way. "Oh great who are you?" asked Maverick who starred at the man. He spoke like Tarzan, "Me Gorbok King of Primal Hunters!" "What's with all of the kings wanting to kill me?" asked Maverick as he raised his hornet arm. "Big price on head for lady and you!" he said with his dumb expression. "I'm wanted! Looks like Reina's master isnt' going to give up easily now is he." said Maverick as he got in ready position for an attack. Maverick charged and went blade to blade with Gorbok they swiped back in forth. "For a big oaf he can fight." thought Maverick that's when he raised his claw and waited for Gorbok to run towards him which he did. Maverick created a blue flame appear at the tip of his stinger and then stabbed Gorbok with it and when he stabbed him a huge explosion blew through his body killing him. The remaining warriors starred at Maverick with terror, "You can give your master a message. Tell him that did doesn't matter how many kings fight me they will all suffer the same fate." said Maverick as the raised his hornet stinger but the men ran away and he lowered it and flew off on his way.

Azuki decided to continue on her way. With a slight yawn she began to walk, not quiet sure if she was still going in the correct direction. After a short while, she sat down near a small stream, and splashed her face. "I should get more sleep at night." She muttered, getting back to her feet and walking foward again. Eventually she began walking up a shallow slope, a town nearby. Glancing around, she noticed nothing that captured her immeadiate attention. She looked at the town slower, and noticed a diner. Azuki felt hungr, and reckoned a simple moment to get a bit of food wasn't going to harm her. "Unfortuanately, that side of the slope is too steep to climb down safely." She muttered, backtracking. Reaching the bottom of the slope she walked along a path ino the town, then into the diner. She looked around, noticing many people having meals. She sat down at an empty table, and a waitress cam foward. "What would you?" Azuki thought, then replied, "Can I just have a salad, anythings fine." The waitress nodded. "Alright, you'll get your order in a moment." The waitress waked away, and Azuki waited patiently.

"I'll just have water for now..." He said looking up at the waitress. As the waitress walked away Rai glanced down at his waist, making sure he still had his swords, for this was the place where he lost his left eye to a drunken swordsman. Well, he probably shouldn't have tried to kill me over a little mishap over a litter game of poker....It's wasn't my fault that he didn't realize I was bluffing. He adjusted his eyepatch as he glanced around, hoping that the same swordsman wasn't here. He was. Rai looked back at his own table at Ven and Noelle, hoping that the sworsman would't see him. I really didn't fell like killing anyone today....let's just hope he doesn't notice me....

THough Ven and Rai ordered water Noelle continued to down her alcochol without any inhibitions. After about three glasses Nolle finally began to relax, though by anyone's perspective her demeanor never changed, and she could see Rai glancing at another man in the room, "Do you . . . know . . . him?"

 

That had been enough to catch the person's attention and caused him to turn him around. Looking at Nolle, who's voice was pretty loud enough to be heard over a lot of the crowds noise, and then spotted the person he had had an encounter a while ago. Sitting his drink down he stood up and walked over to Rai, stopping before Noelle judged the need to use force, "Hey you . . . don't I know you from somewhere?"

 

"Here you go miss,"the waitress said after having brought the salad and a large glass of water to Azuki. The waitress merely stood there with a smile before being called by a very loud, very rude, woman across the hall to fill up her glass. Calling over to the patron the waitress turned back to Azuki, "If there is anything else you need then please feel free to call me."

 

On her way to the back the woman bumped into a man carrying a sword and excused herself.

Coming out from the bushes the soldiers looked amongst themselves, sighing in relief that they hadn't been killed as well, and then each got a shiver down their back. A grunt and splatter of blood from a single soldier made the rest scream while the head slide off the body's shoulders. A hysterical laugh couled with slow applauding made them freeze in their track and turn to see the man whom had caused the death of one of their own. The person had wild hair, as if it had never been brushed, and had a cigarette sticking out of the left side of his mouth. The clothing was the kind worn by a simple sword trainee, but it was obvious that this man wasn't in need of training of any kind. Having stopped clapping the assassin took the cigarette out of his mouth and flicked it to the ground, a cloud of smoke coming out while he exhaled, "So you run away insetead of fallow? Pathetic soldiers you lot make . . . kinda makes me glad our collective boss charged me with ya'll . . ."

 

The soldiers shook in fear as their new "leader" hopped out of the tree and seathed his long curved sword. Patting his new underlings shoulders he continued to walk off in the same direction which Mavrick had fleed in, "Oh! Also if ya'll keep failing I'll keel ya dead . . ."

Maverick continued to fly and then decided to land. When he landed he could see a village and that's when he heard his stomach growl.

 

"I need something to eat. But if what that oaf Gorbok said was true that I'm wanted along with Reina entering that village might make things worse." said Maverick as he changed one of his arm s into his hornet stinger and slashed the air and opened a portal, out came the same 3 stealth demons from before.

 

"Can we help you master?" one of them said with the normal hideous voice.

 

"I need you guys to sneak into that village and get some food for me but stay hidden this time you guys got lucky the last time with Reina." replied Maverick as he raised his hornet stinger and aimed it at the village.

 

"Yes master!" they all replied and then jumped into the air flipped and then turned invisible. After that they headed towards the village leaving Maverick alone under a tree on a hill as he watched.

Rai looked up at the man, and in his most decietful voice he said, "No....I don't believe I do.." He glared at Noelle when the man was distracted by the rude lady's voice, sending an obvious message that she shouldn't have attracted his attention, accidental or not. The man looked back at Rai and studied him, searching his thoughts for a scrap of memory containing him. "I think I do. In fact I know I do. Your that lying, cheating scum that cheated me out of 2,000 pieces of gold a year ago!" Rai looked at him, surprised that he remembered him. "I didn't cheat you out of anything. I bluffed, and you took it. It's your fault you betted so much." He said in a calm and collected voice, which infuriated the swordsman. The man drew his sword and slashed at Rai, who in turn lept backwards out of his chair and kicked it into the air, deflecting the blow. Rai quickly drew both of his swords, and started to exchange blows with the man, during which he shouted to Ven, "Get everyone out of here, now!"

The stealth demons continued to search the village by jumping from rooftop to rooftop.

 

"No groceries stores! Where the hell do these people get something to eat?" said one of them who sounded angry.

 

"Hey look, there's diner I wonder if they got any food?" said another one. All three of them jumped down and looked in through the window and noticed Rai and the man fighting.

 

"Should we do something?" said one of them.

 

"Na, I'm pretty sure there's two sides of this story." said another one.

 

"Well in that case, 10 gold pieces says the one with the eye patch wins." said the last one.

 

"Your on!" said the demon from before.

Azuki took the food greatfully. "Thank you." She said politely, taking a sip out of her glass. As she slowly ate her salad she heard a commotion behind her. Turning, she noticed an angry looking swordsman glaring at another person with an eye patch. Apparently, according to the bit of the conversation Azuki had heard, the two had some 'history' together. Her eyes opened wide as the swordsman drew his sword. The over guy told everyone to get out, which seemed like the sensible plan. Leaving the glass and salad behind, Azuki ran out the door, then began watching the battle through the window.

Seeing that the diner was now empty except for Rai, Ven, Noelle, and the swordsman, Rai decided that he was going to end this fight quickly. He parried the swordsman's blows with ease, although one of the man's attacks grazed Rai's cheek and his eyepatch fell to the ground because of the severed cord as a result. His left eye was now visable, revealing a silvery-white scar that went across it. Rai feinted a swipe at the man's legs, and then sliced open the man's throat when the he took the bait.

The crowd gasped in a misture of shock and horror when they saw that the innocent looking of the group tricked the more bostrious one and sliced open the man's throat. Not even Noelle had though Rai had it in him to send an opponent to their death in front of so many people, but there he stood with his sword covered in the man's blood. Gasping uselessly for air the man fell to his knees and clutched his throat, preventing the massive bleeding as best he could, and began digging into his pockets; finding what he was looking for and slapping it to his throat. Noticing the object Noelle made a quick motion with her hand, raising a barrier of ice in front of Rai, as a yellowish green light abruptly emitted from the patch. Then a sudden noise, the clanging of steel on ice, rang out as the light cleared and everyone could see that the man's throat had completely healed. What Rai noticed next was that, if Noelle hadn't done what she did, the man wouldn've ran clean through him.

 

"So you are who I thought you were," the swordsman said glancing over at Noelle and pulling his sword out of the ice and putting it away. Scowling he took a step back and looked like he was about to turn away, "I know when the odds are against me. Going up against a monster like you would be suicide, snow demon."

 

"Then you know what I . . . can . . . do," was her reply gently resting a hand on her blade, causing not only the swordsman but the entire crowd outside to jump in startled fear, and then watched as he left. It wasn't soon after that that the owners of the dinner had told them they would have to leave, giving the excuse they needed more space for other customers, but Noelle knew the truth. Nodding her head politely for once she walked out of the dinner without even asking if Ven or Rai was behind her.

"You owe me 10 gold pieces!" said one of the demons at the window.

 

"No one has been killed yet you moron!" said the other demon as the smacked him in the head. "But this is the perfect opportunity to steal some grub!" he said with a smirk and then pulled out a black pellet and then with his dagger slashed open the window and chucked it to the ground and it exploded with smoke.

 

The whole diner was covered in black thick smoke. The demons ran into the kitchen and stole as much food as they could before finally running out and getting away. The only issue with that was that the bags they used to steal the food with weren't invisible so everyone outside the diner could see floating bags running away.

 

-Meanwhile-

Maverick looked down on the village and saw the smoke from the hill he was on.

 

"Those three better not be getting into any trouble." he said with his normal look of no emotions on his face.

 

"I hope Reina doesn't find the secret escape portal in Malevolent Dimension cause that'll just lead her to Drakytr Cave, and that place is filled with unruly beast that I can't even begin to explain." he thought to himself.

Rai followed Noelle out of the diner, watching as people shuddered away from him. As he walked, he wiped the blood off his blade on his arm, and once he was satisfied with how clean it was, he sheathed it. He touched his face where the swordsman's sword grazed him, and the cut burned at his touch in protest. F*ck...I wasn't quick enough...atleast I'm not dead, and I have Noelle to thank for that...I thought I had him finished, but I should've expected that he would heal himself... He walked up beside Noelle. "Hey, thanks for stopping his attack back there, I thought he was finished so I lowered my guard. He would have killed me if it wasn't for you."

Noelle heard Rai thank her for saving him from being killed. She hadn't saved him just to keep him around, but because she knew that they'd need more people to fend off what was to most likely come. When he said he had lowered his guard, having thought his opponent was defeated, her blood boiled and she could not hold back. Stopping Noelle's right foot slide behind Rai's left and she twisted around, using her entire left arm to knock him over. With another swift motion she had frozen him to the ground and already unseathed her balde to aim at his throat, "If they can still . . . move then . . . do not lower . . . your guard . . . ever . . ."

 

Noelle then sunk her sword into the ground beside Rai before pulling it up and out of the earth, cleaning it off at the same time she put it away; the ice melting away too. Turning around she didn't offer him any assistance getting up and noticed three bags filled with, what she could smell, was food floating off into the woods. "Demons perhaps?" she thought to herself before shrugging it off, hungry demons like that were never worth the time it took to hunt them.

One of the demons to turned to see if anyone noticed them. He was shocked to see Noelle starring at the floating bags.

 

"Oh crap! I think she knows were here guys, run!" shouted one of them loud enough for everyone to hear.

 

"What! In that case!" said the Demon in front who held out black pebble and threw it and it exploded with smoke.

 

-Meanwhile-

Maverick continued to watch the smoke bombs going off.

 

"If those weren't my best stealth demons I would kill them." said Maverick. Maverick then spread out his demon wings and jumped and flew over the village.

Rai pushed himself off the ground after the ice had melted away. WTF? I never lower my guard in battle, it's just that was my first fight in a year and I was a little rusty, but she didn't have to prove her point... He began walking behind her again, slowly drying his clothes were the ice had melted like he did the night before. I'm starting to see why the swordsman called her a snow demon...she could have killed me there, but I would have left her with a pretty bad burn if she would've...

Ven looked at Rai and then at Noelle. OK, there are still alot of things I need to find out about them. But now really isn't the time. he thought running his hand through his spiky brown hair. He sighed and said,"Alright...after that small ordeal...we should probably find somewhere to recover and rest for the night. Provided that no one else tries to attack us because they know us or something to that effect." He knew that people would find out who they were anyway. Especially with him, most people knew him here..and he was hoping for one person in particular to find him.

The demons managed to escape the ordeal of stealing food from diner. They noticed Maverick flying and signaled him to land on a nearby building so he did. They sat and ate the prize for a successful steal and finally Maverick spoke.

 

"Was there any road hazards on your way?" The demons looked confused. Finally he said it again and this time they knew it was a nicer way of saying what took you so long finally one of the demons replied.

 

"Well there was a fight where we stole this stuff so we had a little bit a wait." one of them said.

 

"A fight?" Maverick replied.

 

"Yeah that guy was one of them!" the demon replied pointing at Rai. Maverick looked at him and then sat back down to enjoy his meal.

 

"He doesn't look like he could kill a fly." Maverick said.

 

"That's not what we saw. He swiped that guys neck pretty good." said the Demon with fear in his eyes the other two were also starting shake in fear.

Noelle hadn't payed much attention to the demons despite them making a lot of noise; not much of a sealth in that tactic. She didn't even pay attention to Rai or Ven as she continued to walk through the village, getting very nasty looks from the villagers as she did, and merely continued along. Some children even began tossing rocks at Noelle while yelling out obscenities that were very unflatering. One of the rocks actually struck a clean blow to Noelle's forehead and caused her to sumble and land on the ground, holding her face which had begun to bleed, but she merely stood back up and contiued. Looking over her shoulder Noelle could see both of them staring at her, the children following with more rocks, and decided to get them off the track their minds were most likely on, "Ven you look . . . like you are . . . expecting . . . some . . . one . . ."
