OOC- Please don't control my charaters. I already told Jake that. Please. Just control your own.

IC- Reina was confused. Chain of Rebirth? She watched him. What was he talking about? How could she be the missing link? She looked back at the portal that they had came from. She could run back through and go back to the mansion. Or she could stay and figure out where she was and what he meant. Was he gonna use her to get what he wanted? Her ears were flattened back. She looked back at him. What was going to happen if she stayed there?

-sorry didn't know

"Hmm? You seem confused? Are you telling me you don't know what the chain of rebirth is? It's the whole reason you are going to Heartfall isn't it?" Maverick asked starring at Reina, he lowered his head and continued on, "The chain of rebirth has two links to it, the link of spirits and the link of healing. The link of spirits alows the he or she to bring the dead back to life which I'm able to do as you can see." Maverick commented as he raised his hand it glowed an eerie blackish color as a bunch of black flaming skulls came behind him and then they crashed into the ground and that when 4 zombies had appeared in those same places. "As I was saying I can bring the life back to life but for a full recovery to be completed the link of healing must heal the unholy wounds that they have endured for the many years of rest. The two beings that are apart of the Chain of rebirth are split up to be hiers of two differend worlds, the link of healing goes to Heartfall like you are and the link of spirits..." Maverick hesitated and turned around and raised his arms towards the walls of the Malevolent World, "Stays here in the Malevolent World! I'm basically living with the undead here deciding who shall be healed and who shouldn't. So in other words this place is an afterlife for spirits." said Maverick as he turned around to look at Reina again, "It's sad to say this but I can't put you through a portal that will lead you the Heartfall! My powers can't go near it or I'll die! Little bit of a side-affect to being apart the Chain of Rebirth! I can send you to a friend or an allies if you want to!" said Maverick as he changed his arm back into a giant hornet stinger.

"I have no friends...." She said. "Bringing back the dead is forbben you know." Reina walked past him. She turned and looked at him. Her tail twitched. I won't say anymore. He can't know that I'm the princess, or that I learned that spell to. Which way should I go? She stepped back away from him. Reina didn't know what he was going to do with his hand. She just watched him and continued to back away farther.

"I know that but I didn't have a choice if I wanted this position or not! When I was born I had a the dark ability to summon the dead to my side. When I was 5 I had an emotional outburst that called upon a skeleton dragon like monster that later on killed my parents. I was so afraid and then I met a man who said he could make all of my troubles fade away but he ended up throwing me in here and then made me the link of spirits. This isn't even what I look like I was possesd by a demon named Judas who caused more trouble for me and my powers. I gained control of fire, telechenesis and then these hornet stingers and the wings also. I have stopped his rampage for taking over my body by feeding him my emotions." said Maverick as he turned around and raised his hornet stinger at Reina. That's when he stabbed the portal behind her and then it was absorbed into his body. "I don't think you those who were back there trying to get in would you?" said Maverick before lowering his stinger and looking down at Reina.

Despite Lan's inability to kill anyone, the guards quickly began to fall dead, each one quickly given a tracheotomy by an arrow flying at close to a hundred miles per hour. Ketodama had stopped just a few meters behind Lan and had begun to loose a flurry of arrows into the guards. As the last one fell dead, he planted his feet into the ground and turned them both slightly. The solid earth beneath his feet was quickly reduced to sand and he whipped it up into a wave, which he easily rode upon. The wave brought him quickly up to Lan and he grabbed the boy around the waist with his right arm, before sending them both hurtling off from the circus upon a racing wave of sand.

"Th-that was easier than expected," Lan stated from his cover of shrubbery. Lan got up and quickly, but stealthily, ran towards the exit and finally, got free. "Don't celebrate yet until I get outta the city," Lan said to himself finding the cover of a small wood near the edge of the circus. Lan started up in a slow and paced walk deeper into the city and away from his indentured slavery. He stopped at the first building and waited for the "Ketodama" person so he cpuld properly thank him for helping... Err... Doing everything. Lan looked around at the odd stares of people. Lan looked at himself, his metal parts were more or less viewable by anyone that happened to be around at that time. Lan backed up abit and said, "n-nothing to see here, just a boy in a...," Lan thought for a bit, "c-costume! Yeah! Just a boy in a costume nothin' to see!

Lan did not have to wait long for Ketodama to catch up to him, mainly because he was very quick on his feet. Because of this, he also happened to have managed to avoid being seen for the most part. He had managed to reach the boy just in time to hear him talking about being in a costume and smiled widely as he came up with an idea on the spot. He approached Lan and clapped him on the shoulder, saying in a loud enough voice for people to hear him clearly.

"There you are brother, I've been worried sick lookin' for ya. Come on, let's go find an Inn and get some sleep...and somewhere for you to change out of that costume."

He calmly led the boy down the city street, looking about for an Inn. He found one quickly enough and headed in, bringing Lan along with him, and approached the Inn Keeper, a rather large and burly man with a thick brown mustache and no hair on his head. He spoke in a hushed voice and paid the keeper for a room, before calmly leading Lan upstairs for the room and bringing him in. As soon as they were inside, he began digging furiously about in his pack and pulled out some long pants and a spare pair of boots like his. He next pulled out a long-sleeved cloth tunic and some gloves that were also much like his.

"We'll be staying here tonight, but you should put those on when we head out in the morning. People will believe you are my brother more easily if your metal parts aren't showing."

Rai woke up as the sun started to rise over the eastern mountain range. He got up, stretched, an looked down at Ven. "If we're gonna get anywhere today, we need to start moving, but I guess he can sleep a little bit longer..." He said to himself quietly. He walked out of the clearing and to the pool of water by the waterfall. He bent over, cupped his hands, and brought it up to his mouth and drank. "Well, it seems safe enough." he said as he filled his canteen with water.

"Okay," Lan replied, slipping off his worn-down loafer shoes and setting them beside the boots. "So what's your story?" Lan asked, not like it would hurt anyone if he asked about Ketodama's past, well except for Lan if Ketodama got angry. "You don't gotta tell if ya don' wanna," Lan added, sitting on a chair in their inn room. Lan's stomach grumbled loudly, obviously indicating he had been starved for atleast a week or so. "Do you think we should get food?" Lan asked before Ketodama could remark about his stomach growling loudly. Lan coughed once or twice before sneezing. I think I might be sick or something, Lan thought, not wanting to be a burden to others, especially ones that could easily butcher him with a spoon. Very painful if suspicions serves as a good indicator.

Ketodama laughed aloud at the sheer manner in which Lan had chosen to speak. He calmly reached into his pack and first tossed the boy a few pieces of smoked, dried meat. He then calmly pulled out a small traveling kettle and filled it with water from the skin he had carried with him. To the water he added a handful of herbs which he pulled from a small pouch on the side of his pack. The room they were in had a fireplace, and next to it was a small pile of wood and also some kindling. Ketodama wasted no time starting a fire and placing the kettle over it to make an herbal tea. He didn't speak until he finished this.

"Well, short version is I set out on a quest to find out who I am a few months ago, my only clues being my name and a seal on my bow and dagger. I found you when I was pursuing a Dragon I had seen flying off with a girl, but I think saving you just might have been a better choice on account of my current level of skill."

Ven yawned a little and slowly woke up. He didn't really sleep much last night, mainly since he couldn't stop thinking about Reina. He stood up and looked at the sunrise and sighed. "R-Reina...please just wait a little longer. I'll be there before you know it...and I'll take you back home to Heartfall...where you rightfully belong." he said running his hands through his spiky brown hair. He grabbed Fenrir and put it back on his back and stretched out a little bit. "Alright...I'm ready now. Just gotta wait for Rai and Noelle." he said with a smile.

Rai walked back towards the clearing. I wonder where Ven's friend Noelle is, we aren't going to get anywhere today if she doesn't show up... he walked into the clearing and looked around, only to find Ven, and sighed as he leaned against a tree. "I was making some last minute preparations, but I see that we aren't going to get anywhere today unless your friend shows up again." He stretched his body and yawned. "Oh well, it'll give me more time to rest, I haven't had a good night's sleep in weeks." He sat down against the tree and started to doze off.

A loud thunk caused the tree that Raiwas resting under to shake. It was enough that he opened his eyes and could see a white skinned woman standing in front of him. Now for most men seeing a woman like her, as she was only clothed in a single towel and had her long light blue hair dangling over her bare shoulders, to be a complete dream come true. But when he looked beside his head and spotted the buisness end of a very long and very sharpp sword . . . well . . . for a lot people the dream just ends there. Leaning over towards the stranger Noelle motioned with her fingers for him not to move, "You have three . . . seconds the explain to . . . me why you are . . . here or I will . . . remove your . . . manhood . . ."

"A dragon you say? I've never seen one pass by lately, but I did see a large, flying sihlouetted creature carrying another figure, but I figured it was a bird carrying prey or something," Lan said, shrugging apologetically.Lan wiped the hair from his good eye, but accidently revealing more artificial parts, specifically his button eye. He quickly put it all in place and took a bite of the meat and a sip of the water. "Whaosht iths thish mowayde ourf?" Lan asked, mouth full of food. He took another bite and sat by the fire, warming his ice cold metal limbs, but not too hot, that would obviously scald him in the various places he would make contact with, with his metal body parts, and the people he would make contact with. Then Lan realized Ketodama didn't think the whole cover up thing through. "I just realized that you forgot about my hands," Lan said, indicating the ripple in the Ketodama's almost thought through plan. Lan took another bite of meat and sip of water.

Ketodama chuckled quietly and gestured to the gloves that he had thrown to Lan, a wide smile on his face as he added some herbs to the now boiling water. The room was soon filled with the somewhat intoxicating smell of herbs, the specific mix of which was supposed to help calm the drinker and focus their mind. He now waited for the herbs to steep as he pulled two small metal cups from his pack, setting them down on the floor; the cups were simple, not even having handles and the showed signs of repeated use. The boy now turned back to Lan, looking him over and unintentionally focusing on the metallic parts that seemed to have replaced his limbs. Concern showed on his face once more as he calmly questioned the boy.

"How did you end up like that? Did you have some sort of accident?"

Ven saw Noelle and said,"W-Whoa, Noelle!!" He got up and stood in front of Noelle and said,"Hey, calm it...his name is Rai and he said he wants to help us find Reina. I told him he could join us." Ven shook his head and said,"Your so uptight sometimes, you know that Noelle??" He looked at Rai and said,"Sorry about her...she tends to be that way when she meets new people. But now that shes here....we can finally get back to finding Reina."

Noelle was stunned, not by the fact they had aquired another body to assist in rescuing Reina, but by what Ven had said. Normally he was scared sh*t less of her, either cowering away from her or trying to act tough in front of Reina. But without her to support him she was suprised he had called her 'uptight' in front of another person. Usually the words of any person, much less a man, would get to Noelle so quickly but this time it did. Taking her sword out of the tree she held it to her side, turned away from the two, hiding her face as she did, and spoke, "As long as he . . . stays . . . out of my . . . way . . ."

Lifting her foot Noelle then went off towards the location which she had, secretly, stored her normal attire and set the sword gently down. Removing the towel she quickly dressed herself, always being aware of her surroundings at those times, and then sat down beneath the shade of a large oak tree. Moving her damp hair from her forehead Noelle lowered her head and thought to herself, "Am I really uptight about everything? No! I am just being cautious . . . he brought someone new without asking me . . . how was I supposed to know he was an ally?! It was all HIS fault!" Misjudged anger filling her to the brim Noelle used her powers to quickly freeze dry her hair, which is more effective than it sounds, and strapped her blade to the buckle which encompassed her waist before heading back to Ven and the new guy.

ONce she arrived Noelle didn't waist any time before begining to boss Ven around, weither this was her natural persona or if she was just getting him back is unknown, but both could see she wasn't in the mood to be argued with. Telling them to gather all of their possessions, which she stated "only bring what you need to survive", she then looked to the sky and pointed slightly to her right, "We head . . . there . . ."

Meanwhile Back at the Castle

A loud thud echoed in the room along with the groan of a young man as he struggled to get to his feet. Looking down at his younger brother the owner of the castle, and Reina's master, scowled at his brother for the major incident which his foolishness had caused. Nodding his head to a guard a boot swiftly kicked the man in the ribs, causing him to double over in pain, and the master of the house simply shook his head, "Nic Nic Nic . . . poor little simple Nicy-boy . . . I hate to see you in such a situation . . . but you lost something very expensive of mine . . ."

"Y-You talk as if . . . she was . . . a . . . th-thing brother," the man replied stumbeling over his words through the haze of pain. He had been recieving his "punishment" for over two hours now and he could hardly think straight. Glancing up at his older brother he now, of all times, finally understood why the girl he had found wandering the castle was so frightened of him; he had no idea his brother could act so cruel, even to his own kin. The elder of the brothers rose from his seat and took his time to saunter over to his nearly crippled brother before leaning down and grabbing a handful of hair, pulling hard enough to rib some out of the scalp and force him to get up despite the pain it caused, "You lost me Reina and you are going to get her back! I don't care how you do it, or what barbaric fools you have to hire to get it done, but you will bring her back to me or else . . ."

Looking over the man gave another nod and the guards then rushed the man, lifting him up and pinned him to the wall. Struggeling by instinct, ignoring any pain it caused, the man watched as his brother unseathed the family dagger and pointed it towards his face. No words would avail him now and he could merely close his eyes as his brother did the unthinkable . . . an act which left him far beyond simply "scarred" . . .

"Now," His brother said delicately cleaning the dagger's blade after having handed the removed eye to his right-hand man, "Get out of my sight . . ."

<OOC: WOW (OoO) I think I made Reina's master go from simply, an abusive master, to a complete and total psychopath!>

Ven saw where Noelle pointed and nodded. "That way...that's...oh boy." he said. He knew which way they were heading. Unfortunately for him, they were heading down towards the place where his father's blacksmith shop was. Ven sighed and said,"Great..heading back towards my father's blacksmith place. Didn't think I'd be heading back there ever again." He really didn't like that place now...mainly because of his father's death. Now that place only smelt of death for him, he still blamed himself for not staying around to protect his father.

Lan caught the gloves and just looked at Ketodama with that look that practically screams, 'really long, emotional story that I really don't like talking about for reasons I can't say yet or reasons I prefer not to tell for other reasons I prefer not to tell.' Then he turned around on that look, "yeah... you could say it was an accident" he lied, taking a bite of the meat and a sip of the water. He then rapidly tapped his non-metal foot uncontrolably, a thing he only did when he was lying, but Ketodama shouldn't know that, atleast not yet. Lan took another bite and sip of water. Lan, changing the subject, said, "so what is this stuff made of? The meat I mean, yeah the meat." Lan yawned and said, "so what are we gonna do tommorow?" 'Keep asking questions, he'll forget sooner or later,' he thought, randomly thinking of more questions to ask. Lan yawned and placed the kitchen knife on the table in the corner of the inn room

Ketodama noticed something very nervous in Lan's demeanor, suspicious that he just might not be telling the truth but accepting that Lan had his reasons for that. He calmly moved to pick up the kettle and pour a small amount of the tea into each of the metal cups, handing one to Lan and keeping the other for himself. The boy took a drink of the liquid and let out a contented sigh before he answered the other's question.

"Tomorrow, we head out and see if there's anything we can learn about that Dragon and the girl it was carrying. Well, that's what I'm doing anyways and you should at least stick with me until we get far enough out of the city so that no one will doubt you being my brother. After that you can stick with me or go off on your own."

With that, he took another drink of his tea and remembered Lan's earlier question about the meat. He nearly choked on his tea the question seemed so funny to him, then again he caught himself and remembered that Lan hadn't been living off the land for a good portion of his life. He shook his head and drank his tea, before choosing to answer that question.

"The meat, it's Venison, been sittin' in my pack for about a month; don't worry it's preserved. Pretty fresh considering how long I tend to go without taking any game or gathering any sort of plants."

"Sometimes we must . . . face . . . our demons . . ." Noelle said in her usual silent whispering, almost monotone, way of speaking. Having been ready long before the two men she sat under a tree for them, her gaze transfixed on the light blue sky and drifting clouds, and her mind began to remember her past. She had came here with her father during the great wars from long ago, though despite the constant struggle they still could find some peace here, and she had played happily amongst the flowers. The sound of her laughter as a youth filled Noelle's ears as her eyes closed, a rare smile forming from her lips, and she continued to remember . . . remember memories she had locked away long ago.

"Father are you sure we can be out here without th' guard?"

"Of course my child,"

her father's deep voice assured her as his strong, firm hand caressed her then petite shoulders, "This area is occupied by our forces, no one would attack us here, for they are all our subjects . . ."

The information had at that time comforted her, believing naively that people would not attack their leaders, or the young daughter of said leader. Yet in the middle of the night a man, a man from the village, had managed to sneak into their temporary accomidations and drew forth his weapon of choice- a long, curved, red stained dagger. "Don't worry my child these areas are occupied by our forces, no one would attack us here, for they are all our subjects . . ." her father's words echoed while Noelle returned to reality, with Ven and Rai standing in front of her. Without hesitation she stood back up and corrected the ruffles in her dress, "Let us get . . . moving . . ."

Meanwhile at the Castle Gates

"Soldiers I demand that you find Princess Reina and bring her to ME!" the young man had barked at the massive horde of armed men that had been summoned, "I don't care if you have to burn every d*mn house from here to Grando! Just find her and you will be greatly rewarded- but remember, she MUST be alive!"

With a final word the mass of soldiers and mercenaries turned, saluted, and began to march off down the mountain side as the young prince turned back into the darkened corridor. Sighing he leaned against the cold marble, his hand over the bandage which covered his empty eyesocket, and looked up to see a man fiddeling with a dagger- the man's face holding a wicked grin and from the mouth a small amount of disturbed chuckles, "So ye wishes t' retr'ev' th' princess wit' com'an soldiers, no?"

"Aye the are going to do wide spread searches, just to ensure we've looked everywhere," came the reply as the company's chuckles grew louder, "As for you and the other four . . . you are going to be stationed at exact locations and concentrate your energies around there- chances are she might end up coming to you . . ."

"Oh an' tis be a good thin' I's think. Afta alls . . . we 'ouldn't want mah feet to get tired," the man laughed as he placed the dagger behind his back and waved to the prince before departing. Walking further into the dark recesses of the hallways the man's face once again wore a wicked smile as he thought, "I's always 'anted to return t' mah fav'rite 'untin grounds . . ."

Ven and Rai both nodded and followed Noelle. Ven was a little worried about Noelle with her staring off into space like that, but he didn't want to ask any questions about her or her past. Its probably for the best...since I don't feel like losing any limbs while talking to her. he thought to himself. Still, I wish I could figure out someway to help her out and find out about in the process. Rai looked at Ven and Noelle and thought to himself, Wow...this is a couple of weird people. But it's funny the way they'll risk their lives just to save this girl. This will be very interesting to watch.

OOC: You can bump an IC thread?

Rai looked at Ven.Well, this pair is unusual, but I don't see Ven trying to kill me any time soon.... He glanced at Noelle. Her, on the other hand, might kill me at a moments notice, judging by how she reacted to my presence in the camp. Well, hopefully neither of them will try to, i would like to be able to see Rena again before I die..He sighed. Sadly, though, someone may try to take my life at any moment....I barely escaped alive last time someone tried to...He thought as he adjusted his eye patch.

It had taken Ven, Rai and Noelle a few hours to get to their destination; thankfully no one was foolish enough to attack them during the breif travel. Reaching the twon from Ven's past Noelle glanced back at them, noticing the boy's nerviousness, and just let it pass. She had no interest in knowing what was getting him so rilled up nor did it matter to her, "Things from the past belong in the past," she had reminded herself after the dream. Now inside the boundaries of the town Noelle would look to the right and left of each street in an attemptt o find some place to stay and rest up or more importantly to eat. Finally setteling on a small dinner Noelle pointed it out to the other two and told them, "We will eat . . . there . . . under~stand?"
