Reina smiled at her. "Thank you." She took it and started to wash the blood away. Her arm was really red from where she scrubbed before. Reina ignored it though. She wasn't used to using her powers and she was told not to use them. Reina must follow orders. She grew up knowing that. Her smile faded as she put the cloth back in her small bag. She could still taste the tree she had licked to see if it was good to eat. Reina was hungry but said nothing.

Jecht was looking at the plants that they were walking by, he had been taught at a young age what was edibal and what could kill you in minutes. Every so often he'd reach out and grab some, stuffing them in his pocket. The sounds of birds songs filled the air, very small birds. He loved to watch the wildlife that surrounded them but he knew that killing them was how to live out there in the forest. He hoped for bigger game then some birds as they walked on through the trees. Jecht walked carefully over the large roots that riddled the ground.

Ven put his hands in his pockets as he walked along with everyone. He kept silent, mainly because he didn't feel like upsetting anyone. That or giving Noelle a reason to beat the crap out of him. He walked and thought about what happened to him and Reina. I'm kidding myself...I'm not that strong. I couldn't even stop those idiots from trying to take Reina. Now I'll never be able to beat that assassin and avenge my dad. he thought to himself with a sigh.

Reina looked around at all of them trying to figure out what was wrong with them. She didn't mean to but she ended up reading their mind again. Reina found out what they were thinking and lowered her head. She didn't know how to talk to any of them. Istead of bothering them she stayed quiet and kept walking. Not looking where she was going she ran into a tree. Some fruit fell down on top of her head.

Ven saw Reina run into a tree and he stopped. "Reina are you alright?" he asked running over to her. He helped her up and said,"You usually dont run into stuff like that...what's wrong princess?? Is there something on your mind that you wanna talk about?" He knew that she had a lot on her mind from time to time, but he wanted to know how come she just ran into the tree.

Reina laughed at herself. "I should look where I am going." She picked the fruit up and put each one in her bag. Her bag didn't look like it was filling up though. She put all the fruit in and smiled closing her bag. "Food for later. " She smiled and kept walking. "I'm just remembering. Thats all. " She was. She wasn't lying. SHe remembered that day she didn't know what had happened. It was the day all things went wrong. She had hurt someone and was to be sold. Reina remembered it clearly.

Ven smiled and said,"Is that all you're doing princess? Thinking about you're past...you don't have to think about the past you had." He looked at the sky and said,"All you have to do is look forward to your future at Heartfall. That way you can see your family again and all your friends from there." He looked back at Reina and said,"And don't worry about Noelle..I'll make sure she doesn't work you like that again. Or make you do anything you don't want to do."

Reina looked at him. "Look forward. But what if you forget the past?" Reina was confused. What did he mean by that? She really did have alot to learn about the world. She smiled though. Reina just wanted to be happy even if it was just to hide the pain she really felt. She thought if she acted happy then maybe she would be happy. Reina walked backwards watching them. "Don't you have to look back sometimes? You don't want to forget some times but still you dont want all but shouldn't you look back sometimes?"

"Those memories of your master and those after you were sold..." Ven said as he turned away. "Those are the memories you should leave behind. All your other memories are the ones you should keep." He smiled and turned back and faced Reina. "Cause I don't think you want to forget me or anyone else." he said with a smile. He knew that if she would forget her master, she could have an open mind and relax without worrying about her master. "Just trust me..you'll be better without those memories." he said turning away again.

"Okay." She turne back around and walked foreward. Reina was trying to think of something else to think about. The world so new to her that she was like a little kid. "Oh, is anyone hungry? I got food." She smiled. Reina was wondering how much longer it was to get there. Her ears twitched as she listened. And she kept sniffing the air every once once in a while. There was nothing but animals. Reina was still tense though.

"I will . . . pass," Noelle anwered as she continued to survey the land, never once dopping her guard for even a moment. She had learned time and time again t drop your guard even amongst your friends could spell disaster. Noelle had even lost count of the people whom could've been saved if only . . . if only she had been aware of the incoming danger. Though she had said she wasn't hungry the truth was that Noelle was at the point of starving herself. The long treck through the dense forest was easy for her, she had become accustom to it in fact, but it was having to constantly backtrack and ensure the others did not get lost was what was wearing her down; the skirmish at the end having fially pushed her to the edge. Still walking near he end of the group Noelle pressed her had over her stomach, mentally tlling herself to quell the urge until they were somewhere safe . . .

Reina put her bag back in place on her hip and then went quiet again. Did I make everyone mad? What did I do to make them mad at me? Was it cause I killed that guy? Is it cause of what happened when I did? Are they scared of me to? Reina was trying to figure out what she had done wrong. She looked around at each one and then back at the ground. Reina tripped and fell into a hole in the ground.

Ven saw Reina trip on and fell into a small hole, seeing her bottom half being stuck. He chuckled a bit and said,"You keep tripping and falling today don't ya, princess?" He pulled a bit and helped Reina out of the hole. "There ya go!" he said with a smile. He turned to his back and grabbed Fenrir and put it on his side. He looked back at Reina and said,"Hey, just so ya don't trip again, I'll give ya a ride on my back. Just hop on Reina."

Reina climbed on his back once more. "I must be the clumsiest princess ever..." She whispered to herself. She was glad she could make Ven laugh. She likeed making people smile. She held on hoping that they were happy. She wondered when they were going to be attacked again. She hoped that they wouldn't be walking much longer. She layed her head on his shoulder and went quiet.

Breaking through the treeline the group could see a wide plaines standing before them. It stretched as far as the eye could see with tall grass waving in the refreshing breeze while the bright sun shone down at every single one of them. Stepping out into the sunlight Reina could feel it's warmth and momentarily forgot all of her troubles, caught in the moment of beauty that surrounded her. However Noelle kept back, staying in the dim shadows that the forest previded and didn't take a step out to the sunlight. "Is this where my journey with them ends?" she thought as Reina ran happily out into the plaines. She hadn't come out of the forest for a long time, she never had to since the forest was so vast, and showing her face once more in civilized society could mean she'd begin to be hunted again; after all it was only two years since she had stopped being hunted . . . and that was nearly not enough time for people to forget.

Reina held onto Ven and sighed. They were so close. Were they? She looked back and saw that not all of them had come out into the sun. "What's wrong?" She asked. Was there something wrong with the sun? With the light? Reina didn't know. Something is close. But thats not important now. She kept watching trying to figure out what was wrong. She sighed and slid off Ven and went to her holding her hand out.

Noelle frowned when she saw Reina holding her hand out towards her, the entire part befre the wrist being covered in the shadows. Her first reaction would have been to smack it away in disguist, but something inside her was telling her that wasn't what she should do. It wasn't her natural instincts which she had come to understand, the cold unfeeling instincts which she learned allowed her to easily kill without remorse. Instead this was something different, as if a person whispering in the back of her ear, urging her to take Reina's hand- take that risk . . . and walk back into the sunlight which she had abandoned so many years ago.

 

"I do not . . . like . . . this," Noelle said lightly touching Reina's hand before letting her, of all people, to slowly convince her to step out into the sunlight. The bright sun beated down on her as Noelle covered her eyes, no longer used to even the slightest sunlight, and it was as if she had gone blind, "I cannot . . . see . . . anything . . ."

Ven looked at Noelle and said,"Well if you ask nicely..me, Reina, Soul, or Jecht might just help you navigate through here, since you can't see." Ven shook his head and thought to himself, I'm guessing she really doesn't like the light much. She really must be someone who lingers in the darkness. He looked at Renia and then looked back at Noelle and said,"Well, would you like us to help you out or not?"

Noelle had her eyes shut and quickly took three very accurate steps froward before stopping in front of Ven. A rare smirk crossed her face as Noelle raised her hand and placed her two fore fingers against his forehead, "I cannot . . . see . . . but I can still . . . navi~gate . . ."

 

Putting her fingers down from Venb's forehead she took a sidestep before looking at where Reina was supposed to be, because she really couldn't tell since her eyes were closed, and began to speak, "Shall we . . . continue?"

 

Ven was right when he had guessed that Noelle hadn't been exposed to much sunlight. For pver three years she had stayed in the darkened areas of the forest so naturally her eyes adjusted to the ambiant light; making the bright light harsh to her. However that did not mean she was defenseless, open probably, but she could still defend herself. She had trained her years and balance to help her know where she was and where she was going.

IC- Reina watched her. She didn't say a word. as she stood there. WHen Noelle asked if they should continue Reina nodded. SHe made sure her bag was by her side and started to walk again. When Reina took a step she was suddenly picked up by a dragon and carried away. It was too far up and away so no one could help her. Reina wiggled to get free but if she tried to get away now she would fall to her death. She knew where she was beign taken and she knew that it wasn't good.
