"Neither," was the only reply the girl gave- obviously not the one the boy would have wanted. Stepping within striking range of the sword her expression never changed, a view of perfect calmness and confidence, and she gave both of them a nasty glare. She couldn't be held up by these two for much longer. She had already done what she came to the stream to do and, gathering her things, needed to get back on the move; however the boy and the girl were in her way and she needed them gone, "Now step aside boy."

Ven shook his head. "No..I wont." he said. He knew if he did, this would all be over. But what if she was lying...and what if she attacks Reina? He gripped Fenrir's hilt even tighter. "I wont step aside...if I have to, I will kill you." Ven said with a confident tone in his voice. I'll protect you Reina....no matter what! he thought to himself, knowing that Reina heard his thought.

Reina heard him. She couldn't smile though. She was too scared to. Reina watched Ven hoping he wasn't going to get hurt. She scooted back more. What if that man came back? What if she was working for her master? What was going to happen next? Reina was so caught up in thought she wasn't paying much attention. She wasn't keeping a watch out for anyone nearby. Reina kept backing up slowly. She didn't want anything bad to happen to any of them.

Letting out a smug chuckle the yougn woman gave Ven a harsh look, one that could send chills down even a seasoned verterans spine, and then spoke, "Is that so? You wont move . . . very well then . . ."

Resting a hand on her right hip the young woman held the other over her eyes, shaking hear head as if she was thinking something to herself. Removing the hand from her eyes she quickly, and accurately, slapped Ven's sword to the side and stepped into the now open gap. Too close into his range for the sword to do any damage with a swing she grabbed his shirt collar and placed her right leg behind his; ending her blazing combination with a decent heave that knocked him over. Stepping over Ven the girl walked up towards Reina, smirked, and then gently moved the frightened girl aside before continuing to walk away, "I told him to move . . ."

Jecht watched as Ven was knocked down and the girl continued walking. "Let her walk." He told Ven. He didn't know what the girl was capable of and he didn't really want to. "You act too overdramatic." Jecht told him stepping back over to the stream. "Not everyone is someone looking to kill. When you met us you didn't raise your sword and threaten us to explain ourselves, so don't judge everyone so qiuickly." He said filling his canteen that was strapped to his waist, up with the water. I guess I'll find out if this is clean water or not soon enough.

Reina slowly went back to the water and leaned forward. Instead of cupping her hands she just licked the water up out of the stream. She liked it. It tasted much better than the stuff she was forced to drink. Reina kept drinking it. She finished and lifted her head. She felt better after having a drink. She had stopped shaking and started to relax some. She looked at Jecht. Was he mad or was there something on his mind? Reina coudn't tell. She just stayed quiet.

Ven got back up and said,"You're right Jecht. Its just not everyday you see some girl walking up from a creek and you didnt see her walk into it." He grabbed Fenrir and put it back on his back. He shook his head and said,"But...there is something about that girl that made me feel uneasy...but its probably just my imagination."

Reina sat there happy that she quinched her thrist. She smiled glad that she had got to taste more good stuff. It was so much better than before. She stood up and looked at Ven. Reina was worried. Why was the girl even here? And what was she doing? Reina didn't even try to read the girls mind. She was too shocked when she was splashed to even think about doing anything. She had froze up. What if she does it again and someone gets hurt? Reina would never forgive herself if that happened. The only thing is she was more afraid to use her powers because of what happened the last time she did.

Ven walked over to stream and looked at Reina. He sighed and said,"Reina..sorry if I kinda freaked you out back there. I-I get kinda over protective of my friends and I don't want them to get hurt...I should have at least let her tell me something before I drew my sword at her..." He shook his head and said,"Usually I'm not that uptight like that."

Reina smiled at him. "Its okay. I understand. My siblings can be the same sometimes. Some of them don't ask questions. They just attack then ask later." She was refering to Rei and Reiki. She knew they were like that. Reina kept smiling. She looked at Ven. She could sense something was bothering him but she couldn't tell what it was. She just wished she could help him. She wanted to help but didn't know how to.

"Wow..they sound just like me." Ven said with a chuckle. He took the hood off his head and ran his fingers through his brown hair. "I just hope that doesn't happen again. Just as long as I don't see that girl again...something about her just gives me the chills." he said shaking his head. Then he got a smirk and said,"Maybe its cause she just wasn't my type."

"Not your type?" She didn't understand what he meant. They didn't look similar. And they acted totally different so that must of been what he meant. Reina was confused but she didn't worry too much about it. She stared down at the water. She watched her reflection. What were they going to do next? Would they see that girl again? And if they did what would she do? She just couldn't answer any of the questions that popped in her head.

Ven looked at Reina and said,"Oh, you're wondering what I meant." He looked at the stream and said,"What I meant by that...she wasn't the right girl for me. Cause everyone has to have someone in this world. Like my mom had my dad to love." He took a rock and threw it at the stream, making the stone skip across the water. "I've been having a hard time finding the right girl for me." he said looking back at Reina.

"You mean like marriage? Do you have arranged marriage like us or do you really get to choose who you want?" Reina asked. It was strange how different they lived. She used to have to do everything perfectly but he seemed like he can make mistakes without getting yelled at. Reina was thinking to herself and watched him skip the rock. Reiki used to do that all the time when he was with her. The only difference was that he didn't have to pick them rocks up. He could use his powers and pick them up and skip them. Rein could do the same to. It was just not his favorite and strongest power her used.

"Kind of." Ven said picking up another rock and holding it in his hand. "What I mean is...for us, those who aren't royalty, we get to choose our own people we want to be with. I had a few girls I hung out with before..but those girls weren't good for me." he said as he tossed the rock into the stream. "But we don't just get married that quick...we wait until we're older and more mature. Though...I don't understand why people would want arranged marriages. I don't think they're bad..but what if the person that they are paired with...they don't love each other." he said looking back at Reina. "But thats just my opinion."

Before Reina had been sold she was arranged to marry someone but he didn't seem to like her. She didn't know why. They were very young at the time so that was probably why. "I see..." She stared back at the water. Reina couldn't remember much about the boy. She couldn't even remember his name. But she was told she was going to marry him. Why? Because her parents thought he was the best one out there for her. Rei and the others didn't get their love picked for them. It was her that was to be picked. They got to choose their own as long as they were royalty.

The girl had continued to walk away from the group, though thanks to her unusual upbrinigng she could still hear them, hear them talking about things she personally had never devoted much time too; repentance, love, family. As she headed out of the woods she could make out what appeared to be a campsite, giving an educated guess that it was owned by the people she ran into earlier, and got an idea. Listening in the general direction of the kids and then, once she was sure they were not heading back soon, she walked into their camp, "Lets just hope these kids actually have something worth taking . . ."

"That's because the king and queen think about their only their kingdom. If their son or daughter marries the son or daughter of another kingdom, the two nations could unite and become stronger." Jecht said standing up from the stream, after washing his face, hands, and sword off. He hoped this water was good enough it drink. He did not feel like getting sick off some drity water. "You guys ready to go yet?"

"It tasted good to me...."Reina told him. She nodded when he asked if they were ready to go. "I am ready." She was ready to get the collar off. She wanted to keep moving so then she could get it off. Reina knew she had to be paitien though. If she rushed things would turn out bad. She looked at them hoping they were okay. Reina hoped that Jecht wasn't upset at her. He stayed quiet alot but she told herself to stay out of his head. She wasn't going to get him mad at her. She didn't want to get hit for doing it.

Reina climbs onto his back just like all the times before and held on. She was ready. Ready to get her collar off. Ready to get home. Ready to see her family again. Reina was ready for her happy ending. She held onto Ven and smiled. Soon they would be there and it would all be over. Her living nightmare would be all over. But what if she was sent back. She couldnt worry about that at the moment. She needed to worry about now. She needed to think about what was going to happen next on their journey.

Having ripped through most of the kid's possessions, grabbing and snatching whatever she thought could be useful, the young woman stood up as she heard the owners heading her way. Looking around at the damage she had caused and, looking at the half full sack she had slung over her shoulder, she began to wonder if they might have anything of value on their person. And then a thought came to mind. The boy who had, foolishly, threatened her was holding a sword; and any sword would at least fetch a good bit of money. And if she remembered correctly the frightened girl behind her was sporting an interesting looking collar- another well priced item she could sell . . . or wear personally if she "liked" it enough.

"Very well then," she said to herself as both hands fliudly raised to her face, a mist gathering around her and the camp. She would make it so that visability would be harder, but not impossible. She only meant to confront them, steal their possessions, and then leave without doing much physical harm.

Reina hoped that they wouldnt have any trouble soon. She looked up ahead an noticed that she couldnt see very well. Reina was hoping it was just her eyes playing tricks on her. She rubbed her neck where it hurt. It still was burning from before just not as bad. Reina listened for any sound and started to sniff the air. She could sense something ahead but stayed quiet. It smelled familar but it just didn't smell like the guy from before. Reina's heart raced.

Ven felt Reina shake a bit. He looked back at her and saw her looking scared. "What is it Reina?" he asked. He then looked around and said,"Do you smell someone? Are they friend...or are they working for your master and trying to take you back?" He grabbed Fenrir from his side and unclipped it from his belt loop and grabbed it in his hand.

She caught the scent. "Its that lady again. She's nearby. But look up there. Its cloudy. How will we be able to see?" Reina pointed. "What are we going to do?" Reina asked. Her grip tightened on him. What was going on? Reina was wondering if it was magic or not. She could of tried to blow it away but didn't. She thought she would lose control of her powers and then someone could get hurt. So she decided not to use her powers.
