All three of you have really powerful monsters out. SSD even got his out the first turn! Why can't I have a powerful monster out?

Furthermore, why doesn't it seem like anyone on this site plays Duel Monsters for fun? SSD got out a LV10 monster on his first turn! Now tell me that's not playing to win. I just wish people would play because they wanted to have a good time. That's what I was doing.

What I'm complaining about is that, in just about every Yu-Gi-Oh! RP I have seen, no one plays Duel Monsters for fun. They just send out their most powerful monsters on the first turn and butt heads with people. But when someone actually has a strategy and wants to just play to have a good time, they complain and call the player a godmodder.

I mean, no one's going to get out a LV10 Synchro Monster on the first turn in real life, right?

Again, am I being included? See, all my RP duels focus more on the spectacle than the outcome. I play fair, play with below-meta cards, don't aim to counter everything my opponent does, take my time reaching the killing blow, play for fun, etc.

I guess you and I don't RP together, so you wouldn't notice.

Anyway, SSD is infamous (no direct attack meant) for using OPed cards and strategies, often to borderline powerplaying. Those Metal cards in one RP...I made him tone some of them down to a fraction of their power. That's saying something. Then there were his Evil Hero cards...

I dunno. Some people feel winning is the method to have fun. I like interesting characters with interesting duels, so I play villains more. They'll lose eventually, removing the need to win.

Well, my strategy differs depending on who I am RPing as.

As Itsu, she is sweet and kind and uses a Malefic deck that hits and hits hard, but fairly. She usually doesn't pull out a Synchro Monster until her second or fourth turn.

As Desna, he is a total badass, but his deck is a Satellite Deck. He uses a few combos to build up his defenses, then he starts playing Satellites, and lining up his kill by Turn 5-7.

But as Pandora, which I am playing as now, her cards are supposed to be fun. And they are. In fact, you'll find out her mission as Clown Princess shortly.

And no, I am not attacking you. I said that it seems like more and more players on this site are too competitive.

(Actually he summoned it on his second turn)

lol and no one said you were godmodding..I actually don't even know what that means lol

..as for winning..yeah thats what makes a duel fun lol if you don't go all out and are in it to win then its not as fun

...what i don't like is that your monster's effect completely hinder's everybody's ability to duel at their best (except you)

but since this is an RP then I'm sure someone will summon something even stronger :P

Also this is my last post on this subject...I dont want these forums to catch fire LOL :D

Godmodding is making yourself powerful to ridiculous levels, often to the point of being unbeatable, giving yourself an incredibly unfair advantage, or controlling someone else's characters or actions with impunity. (And this is why I despise all effects that include "this card's effect cannot be negated or chained against")

It's possible you misunderstood the difference between "play for fun" and "being too competitive". People who play for fun aim to win, but not win at all costs as soon as possible. Competitive people often try to flatten their opponent ASAP and they're the people I notice tend to pack their custom decks with cards that negate damage by ludicrous means or have a dozen "last resort" cards. Those people aren't much fun to play against because it's often apparent they're asspulling based on a NEED to win, versus an ordinary desire to win. Losing to moves like that drains the game of all satisfaction and fun, so the opponents often create cards specifically to counter those counters. It's a cycle.

I'm not stating anyone here is like that, it's just traits I've noticed competitive people in RPs have. *shrugs* I dont have a clue what's going on in the duel or whatever, so I can't point fingers at anything.

Yeah. I retract any statement I might have said against SSD. We talked, had some vodka, talked about good old Mother Russia, and came to an understanding that only Soviet comrades-in-arms could know.

So, the Battle Royale is being canceled. We're doing the time warp and going back to just before the duel.

Anyone have a problem with that?
