[spoiler=Introduction]Six months ago, a challenge went out across Japan: a tournament to showoff their skills for a chance to Duel against the reigning King, Jack Atlas. Sixty four Duelists received invitations to this prestigious event, dubbed the Fortune Cup, for a multitude of reasons. Some fought for revenge after being trounced by the King, others for fame, and still others simply Dueled for the fun of Dueling. The tournament raged on for three days, during which all of the previously projected winners were defeated by total unknowns, until the semifinals were between four Duelists that the general public had never heard of: Yusei Fudo, Akiza Izinski, a young girl name Luna, and an amnesiac Dueling on the alias Taro Daimon. As soon as the four Duelists came close to one another, however, their arms started glowing a bright crimson, with a Mark appearing on each of their right arms, as well as on the arm of Jack Atlas himself, corresponding to two claws, a tail, a body, and a pair of wings. After the murmurs died down, the semifinals commenced and saw the elimination of Luna and Akiza, revealed to be the Black Rose. The finals saw the spectacular duel between the amnesiac Taro and the current front runner Yusei, though, after a dazzling display, the WATER Duelist managed to drown his opponent's Stardust Dragon and win the Fortune Cup, as well as the right to challenge the King. After keeping the fans in the stadium waiting for over an hour, a beat up Taro, now preferring to be called Epsilon for some inexplicable reason, stumbled onto the stage, and, despite taking a beating from the King's Power Deck and Red Archfiend, again managed to prevail by the skin of his teeth. That, however, was when the real challenge began. That's when the Dark Signers made themselves known.

[spoiler=Rules]1. Advanced format rules apply. I don't know why I still have to put this, but I do.

2. Besides the Signers, Leo, and the Dark Signers, canons should be kept to a minimum.

3. No character limit, though you must use every character you have.

4. If you decide to RP as a canon, have the personalities mesh, don't have Leo be a super genius, don't have Jack be sensitive and humble, etc.

5. Custom cards are allowed.

I'm very interested, and was awaiting this since seeing the idea in the RP-planning thread. However, upon reading this thread, I've become confused and see one major problem:

There's no indication of what the PRESENT plot is about!

Great, we have massive amounts of backstory, but absolutely nothing else. We're left a little high-and-dry about what role any character, canon or otherwise, would have in this RP. There is also no mention of who villains would be, whether anyone can apply for a villain (I'm a major "play the villain" person), etc.

Evilfusion, this RP takes place 6 months before the Infinity arc, so for the introductory part, the villains will be various New Domino scumbags trying to prevent the reunification of the two cities. You can be said New Domino scumbag, or you can be a being created in lieu of the Three Emperors of Yliaster since they definitely aren't good enough to defeat 5 Signers, Bruno, and Leo, let alone 6 Signers, Bruno, and Leo.

Or just take both slots, whatever floats your boat.

I have several questions.

1. Is Sayer still alive in this continuity?

2. So pretty much thanks to the last rule any custom characters are going to be entirely pointless in storyline?

3. And what is the current state of the Arcadia Movement?

1 and 3. Everything in the Dark Signer arc of the anime played out the same with some changes where Epsilon was involved.

2. Think of it realistically. Would just some random Duelist of 0 plot importance be able to defeat a Signer? If you don't know the answer, talk to Trudge. So, when you do make custom characters, integrate them into the storyline, make them antagonists, or something.

Though I am strongly considering just deleting this thread. Upon further review, it doesn't seem like that great of an RP idea.

What brings it down is that...THERE'S NO PLOT! And the plot you provided on request is...well, no disrespect, lame. So people in the CITY, who are "scumbags" and therefore probably going to end up in the Satellite for being scumbags, are against unifying the City, despite having no political weight where it's concerned. So...they're going to...do what?

-Duel people? (who and why would that stop unification of the city and Satellite?)

-Acts of terrorism? (...well, terrorism solves everything?)

And yeah, one of your rules specifically states that the Signers will beat everyone but each other.

So there's no plot, except something that looks like a breather plot after a huge ordeal plot that we didn't do. Custom characters are near-guaranteed to be irrelevent or villains, and the villains' goals...are low-scale to the point of meaningless.

Idea would be better if it were actually going somewhere.

No offense, Dresden, but he actually has a solid point.

I kinda skimmed over the plot when I came in, and now that I have gone back and read it, the premise does seem to have some sizable holes that should be addressed before the RP gets too far along.

Hm' date=' okay. Can I reserve Kalin/Kiryu?

I love that you included the Japanese Name.

Is this basically World Championship 2010, where the storyline is Dark Signers? If so, can I reserve Yusei? If not, please explain?

Heh, well I've taken a liking to the subbed version of 5Ds, although I watched most of the dubbed, but the little errors and stupid moments annoy me to no end, even if some episodes have awesome parts. The subbed don't have the bad and the material is good. And Kiryu is a WAY better name than Kalin. They did pick a decent dub voice actor for him, thankfully. Decent, not wonderful.

I like how this thread now reaches page 2 without any real applies.

I ain't breaking the trend. But I think that you should remove the Original Characters Lose Against Signers rule' date=' though. It feels kinda stupid.

That's because host hasn't answered yet.
